1. Ano ang naging inspirasyon mo sa pagsulat ng iyong winning entry para sa Ang Lagim ng Unang Pagsinta?
- Iyong story ko na Fated Lovers. Hindi ko alam kung coincidence lang or it is really fate, pero pamilyar sa akin iyong dalawang prompt ( berberoka at sigbin ) pareho ko kasing ginamit sa story ko iyang dalawang nilalang na iyan. Kaya nang nabasa ko 'yong mga prompt bigla akong na-excite sumali. Napili ko 'yong prompt three kasi pagkatapos kong mabasa 'yong prompt, automatic 'yong pag-switch ng ilaw sa utak ko at lumitaw na lang ng kusa 'yong plot.
2. Ano ang iyong naging reaction nang malaman mo na nanalo ang iyong akda?
- I was really hopeful that I will win. Hindi ko itatanggi na umasa akong kasama ako sa top 3. I believe I did a great job writing my entry.
3. Mayroon ka bang Wattpad Story na gusto mong ibahagi sa amin? Tell us about it!
- Fated Lovers. It's a five hundred year old love story between an immortal woman named Fate and the God of the Sea, Amanikable. It's a romance-fantasy-action story na loosely based sa Philippine Mythology. I hope you could check and read it. Wattys 2019 Winner po ang story kong ito. Kung hindi naman kayo mahilig sa fantasy, may mga ongoing romance story rin ako entitled: To Be Loved, Watch Over Me at Love Unexpected. 4. Mayroon ka bang maibibigay na tips o kaya naman advice sa mga batang writers?
- First, read smart. Alam kong sa panahon ngayon very accessible na ang information sa lahat through internet. If you want to write a good and credible story, be knowledgeable first. I know most of you are writing for fun but if you want to be good at your craft, you won't treat it as a fun joke just because you are bored and want to express yourself. Hindi lang ganoon ang definition ng pagsusulat. The writer should be more knowledgeable than his/her readers. After all, you are imparting something to your readers after they read your story, you help them realized something, you are helping them to learn something from your story. So, I hope you get what I mean. - Second, write properly and genuinely. Most aspiring writers na nakikita ko ngayon dito sa Wattpad ay nagsusulat lang para sumikat. They don't even realize what comes after the fame. If you're going to write properly and genuinely, mamahalin ka ng pagsusulat mo. When all else fails, writing will never leave you, kahit pa gusto mo nang sumuko.- Three, have faith and confidence in yourself. Writing is not easy. Even if you have your characters, a great plot and everything, even if there are people telling you, that you are great. Darating iyong point sa buhay mo na gusto mo nang itigil ang pagsusulat. Most writers I knew stopped after years of writing. Iyong iba naging bitter, naging insecure at naging bashers ng mga sikat na writer, all because they lost hope and confidence to themselves.
5. Kung papapiliin ka: the ability to write wonderful stories or to live inside a story at bakit?
- The ability to write wonderful stories. I can't call myself a writer, if I can't write wonderful stories anymore.
