I wake up uncomfortable from not sleeping on a normal bed.
I look around to see happy and Rhodey asleep. Nebula is still watching tv. Doctor Strange is here now.
Steve is awake, he looks very tired. And the boys are still knocked out.
I sit up slowly and stretch.
"Morning sweets" I hear Steve say quietly. His voice is tired and course
"Hey Steve" I yawn rubbing my eyes
"Want some breakfast, I'll take you downstairs" he yawns after I do
"I was actually just going down myself, you can stay andrest Cap" doc Strange gets up
"Okay" Steve nods to strange then looks at me for approval
"He's right you need the rest pops. I'll go with Strange" I smile as Steve leans back in his chair
"Ready?" Strange asks
I nod and walk out of the door with him
To my surprise he's wearing an average everyday outfit.
"Thanks.. for coming with me. Steve really does need the rest" I say as we go downstairs
"It's the least I could do." He says nodding
We get to the breakfast bar
"So doctor st-
"Oh please, y/n call me Stephen I think we're past pronouns by now" he chuckles a little trying to be light and bubbly.. but I can tell something is up.
"Alright Stephen what should we get?" I smile softly looking at all the food
After picking our selections we sit together to eat.
I study Stephens movements, I've never seen his hands shake this much, he seems overly nervous about something.
"Have we um heard anything on my dad?" I ask as we start eating
His body language calms a little when he hears me
"Sadly no, I know how excited you are to see him. They will notify us when you can" he nods shaking a little less now
"That's great! I just want to be able to see him again... hear his stupid comments, hug him again, and just tell him how much I love him!" I break out into a smile thinking of my dad.
"I'm sure he is wanting to see you just as much" Stephen smiles softly
This smiley nice Stephen is total opposite from what I've seen before.
I go to respond to him but my phone buzzes.
Steve: he's awake come back now!!
"Oh my god Stephen let's go!" I screech grabbing his hand and dragging him up the stairs with me
Upon reaching the room where Steve is I can see the boys just waking up.
"Steve I'm going to see dad!!" I yell as I drag Stephen with me
I get to his room and bust through the door. I feel Stephen let go of my hand but it doesn't distract me.
All I can see is my dad and I could feel my heart in my brain
"Dad!" I exclaim never feeling so much joy
He's sitting up in bed. Bandages cover his torso and head. The scars on the right side of his face are prominent but he is alive and awake.
"Y/n" he says in a light voice since his voice isn't fully back yet. His face has a smile on it which just lights my mood up more
I go to his left side and hug him. His arms wrap around me and I lose it. All the emotions running through me I start to cry.
I hear everyone else come in the room but I don't care to move. I will hug my dad for as long as I'd like.
I look up at him to see tears running down his face as well
I wipe them with my sleeve lightly
"Are you hurt? How are you?" He asks immediately about my health
"I'm fine- nothing I can't handle- I'm just happy to have you back" I say and he smiles holding onto me
"Incoming!" Peter and Harley yell joining us for a hug
"There's my boys" dad huffs happily
I stay with him as everyone else comes to greet him
Steve sits on his right side beaming up at his husband.
Harley and peter sit on the edge of the bed with Nebula as well.
Rhodey and Happy are just as overjoyed ass I am to see him.
The only one not in the room is Stephen.
I can see him standing right outside. Weird
After having the tear fest and having my time with dad, I excuse myself for a moment.
I go outside the door to where Stephen is.
When he notices I'm there he goes from nervous to casual
"Everything okay?" I ask
"Well obviously not" he says holding his hands together as they shake
"Stephen you can tell me what's wrong... I can help" i encourage him
"I- I watched him die y/n. Okay?.. I had to watch him die and I couldn't tell him- I just-
"Hey it's okay, Stephen I know it must've been terrible for you to hold all of this on your shoulders.. but he's alive and it is thanks to your help. You can't hold these feelings it isn't good. You have to go in there and see him for yourself." I say but he just seems frustrated
"And what if he's mad? Or doesn't want to see me? I can't deal with this" he shakes his head
"Stephen. Come on" I hold my hand out to him
He hesitates to take it, he doesn't want to be weak but he can't do this alone.
But he takes my hand and I walk in with him
"Hey dad" I smile as the attention turns to us
Dad looks at Stephen and I can feel Stephens hand shaking
"Strange! Get your magical ass in here" dad says happy to see him
Stephens hand stops shaking and he lets go of mine
"Hey tony" Stephen says quietly
Some of us leave to give them room
I go in the hallway with Peter and Harley
"Do you see him y/n?! He's alive!!!" Peter exclaims picking me up
"I saw him Pete!" I laugh happily
"Doctor says he can come home tomorrow" Steve smiles joining the conversation
"Hey! Where is he!?" Nat yells running down the hall with the rest of the avengers
"Jeez they all came to see him" Harley shakes his head not believing it
Nat Thor Clint Bruce carol the guardians.
Everyone.
They bust in the door before I can tell them that Stephen is talking to him.
Everyone rushes back in again but I stay in the hall.
"Hey kid" Stephen sits next to me in the hall while everyone crowds around dad in the room
"Wasn't so bad right?" I smile and he chuckles
"Thankfully Tony was very happy to see me" Stephen nods
"So no worry" I say
"No worry" he nods confidently
"You and him just seem so alike to me" I laugh a little
"Oh please, don't tell me my ego is that big?" Stephen makes a disgruntled face which makes me laugh
"Oh be nice" I laugh more at his joke
"I'm going to go check on the sanctum. And Wong. I'll be back to visit soon" Strange stands up
"Oh okay. Yeah stop by whenever you want. And thank you again" I smile
"Of course. See you soon y/n" Strange nods and turns to walk away
"Wait! You forgot something!" I smile as he turns back
I give him a hug and this one he hugs back a little quicker.
After he leaves I sit alone for a moment
Then I get a text message
Pietro: hey are you at the hospital?
Y/n: yeah why?
I text him back and wait for a reply.
Then suddenly a flash of blue flies by and Pietro is sitting next to me
"Pietro!" I smile
"Hey how's everything been?" He asks as I hug him
"Good. He's doing well, everyone is in there right now" I nod
"And how are you doing?" He asks about me
"I'm good. Happy everything is okay" I smile contently
"I'm glad" he sighs
"So.. will you be sticking around?" I ask kind of hoping he is
"Yes I believe so. I have good reason to, Wanda needs me since vision is gone.. and I have some unfinished things." He says looking at my hand
"That's great to hear" I smile grabbing his hand into my own.
I want to ask him about how he kissed me on the battlefield but maybe it was just an in the moment thing.
"Hey y/n the doctor says we can bring dad home tonight!" Peter rushes out into the hallway
"Really!?" Pietro and I stand up still holding hands
"Yeah come on he wants to see you!" Peter jumps around like a puppy
I take Pietro in with me
Everyone stands around happily chatting
"Hey kid come'ere" dad says with a smile
"Hey dad" I smile back sitting on the Edge of his bed
"I am so ready to get out of this joint... we should definitely get cheeseburgers" he smirks
"No Tony, you heard the doctor" Steve chuckles shaking his head
"What did the doctor say?" I ask
"I'm on a full liquid diet for 3 days" he sighs rolling his eyes
"And I offered to do it with him" Steve says kindly
"But I declined." Dad huffs
"It's three days dad. You'll definitely get through it" I smile
"And then my first order of business will be hosting the greatest come back party of all time" dad smiles confidently
"If you can even walk" Harley butts in
"Cut the 'tude and maybe you'll be invited" dad deadpans making Harley shut up
"And just who are you inviting to this party?" Steve asks
"Everyone!" Dad nods
"Everyone? Okay so all of the Avengers" I nod
"No no no.. everyone" dad smiles
"As- as in the whole world?" Peter gasps
"No Pete, just everyone I know" dad chuckles
"God that would fill up the whole tower" I laugh
"That's the point" dad smirks
"So trash the whole place?" Steve sighs
"Don't worry grandpa I'll have it all cleaned up" dad smiles over to his husband
"Wonderful" Steve can't help but smile
"Hey where's the wizard of oz?" Dad asks
"He was going to check on the sanctum or something" I shrug
Dad frowns
"Well then we will just have to make sure he is invited to our luxurious party" dad grins
"You got it dad" I smile
"And cheeseburgers when we get home tonight" he says
"Tony" Steve shakes his head trying not to laugh
"How about a cheeseburger smoothie?" I smirk
"Ew no" Harley shakes his head
"That could be an idea" dad chimes in
"Dad!?" I laugh
"I'm just kidding" he chuckles
"Hey metal head, Clint and I are going to see his family. I'm glad you're okay" Nat kisses dads head and leaves
"Bye Nat" I frown a little
"Take care of him, and yourself! I see you and speedy boy" she winks and gives me a hug
"I'll miss you" I giggle hugging her back
"If it wasn't for you I'd be gone right now and I am grateful. I love you and I'll be back for that big party!" Nat smiles pointing to dad
She leaves with Clint and most of the avengers begin to go
"I too must be going. Tony from Asgard, we will be forever grateful to you. Thank you friend" Thor smiles and hugs each of us
"Bye best friend" he smiles
"Bye bestie" I smile taking my necklace out of my shirt for him to see
He smiles and leaves off to Asgard
"Hey Tony" Bruce comes over wearing a sling on over his injured arm
"Hey big green" dad smiles up at him
"I feel your pain. You'll get through this I know it. We can work on a prosthetic when you get home" Bruce smiles encouraging
"Definitely will thanks Bruce" dad nods agreeing
"By the way can I stay at the tower for a bit?" He asks shyly
"What Veronica kick you out?" Dad smirks
"No, no-
"Of course you can stay Bruce. You should come check out the farm house" dad smiles
"We should get chickens!" Peter exclaims
"I wanted cows" Harley chimes in
"No, and no" Steve chuckles
"Steve's right.. that's why we're getting an alpaca!" Dad exclaims
Bruce leaves and Pietro is still waiting in the corner
"Hey you." I smile as he looks up from his phone
"Hey!" He smiles putting his phone in his pocket
"We're gonna get going here soon. If you'd like to come with you can" I suggest
"You know I would love to. But Wanda is waiting for me at the tower. So I better go" he nods and I totally understand
"Okay, you should definitely come visit" I suggest as we walk into the hallway together
"I'm so sure we'll be seeing each other soon" he chuckles looking down at me.
"Good! Hahaha.. I'll miss you" I exclaim trying not to blush a lot
With no response Pietro simply opens his arms for me. I put my arms around his waist and his arms surround me.
"Trust me I'll be back" Pietro says quietly before kissing my head and letting go
"Why don't you just stay" I frown as he starts to walk away
"Because- look see she's calling me already!" He chuckles taking his phone out of his pocket
"Hey wait! You kissed me yesterday during the battle and I just want an explanation!" I shout as he continues to walk. I just wanted him to stick around longer
"What can I say, I'm in love with you!" He laughs and I honestly can't tell if he was serious or not but he's cute so whatever
"Oh go away" I roll my eyes as the flash of blue disappears
I go back into the room with a smile plastered on my face
"What? You say bye to your boyyyyyfriendddddd?" Harley taunts me
"Boyfriend?? Speedy Gonzalez? Again?" Dad perks up and looks at me then at Steve
"Don't look at me I didn't know" Steve shrugs looking at me
"It's nothing dad" I roll my eyes
"Whatever you say y/n" dad smiles
The doctor comes in to do one last check up. Everything seems okay so dad gets released!
We get dad in the car ready to go and he already starts making plans
"Stevie we can go to the farm house tonight but tomorrow we have to return these things. So we have to go to the tower-
"Tony will you relax, you just got out of the hospital honey" Steve chuckles driving us home
"Oh my god dad Daniel and monty are gonna love Pete and Harls!" I smile thinking of my pets
"Daniel?" Pete asks
"Monty?" Harley asks as well
"This is gonna be good" dad chuckles
The whole way to the farm house I tell Harley and peter about the farm house. I exclude the part about the pets since they are a surprise.
We get to the farm house and I run to the door with the boys.
"Okay boys.. meet Daniel and Monty!" I smile opening the door
Daniel runs out barking like a maniac
"Woah a dog!" Harley yelps surprised
Monty struts out like royalty holding his head high
*gasp*
"A cat" peter drops to the floor and lets Monty sniff his hand and rub on his arm
We help Steve get dad into the house before I give the boys the grand tour.
Home finally feels like home :)
