Lucien's POV
Today I woke up with the intent of talking to Alpha Marcus. See about handling this rogue issue over in my pack, my territory. It would make everything so much easier.
'And our mate would come' Xavier said lowly.
I sighed and got ready for the long day ahead. Showering a little longer than usual to soak up some silence while I can. Once we get there I can only imagine the fight that Marcus will put up out of pride for not having it handled already.
He's not that strong an Alpha though, and it seems that his Beta and my mate run this pack more than he does. He doesn't seem to pay much attention to things unless it involves him directly or he gets something out it. It's sad really because he has a whole pack behind him ready to lay their lives down, when he wouldn't even pick up a finger.
'Don't work yourself up Luc, it'll only make today harder and longer on us' Xavier linked me.
'I know, I'm sorry' I replied back. 'It just pisses me off that there are Alphas much like Marcus, running packs with great potential, that deserve better'
After getting dressed and making a quick breakfast I headed over towards Marcus' house. On my way there I ran through how I was going approach this headache of a conversation without blatantly offending Marcus and his non existent skills in leading his pack.
As I kept walking I felt eyes on me. It was a bit longer til reaching the Alphas house yet, so I knew whoever my new comer was, they weren't a guard. I couldn't help but wonder why someone would be dumb enough to follow me, thinking I wasn't aware. I kept walking as if I knew nothing. Clearing my head and slowing my pace some, I took a few deep breaths through my nose and focused my senses more. Trying to pinpoint where exactly this person was.
After coming up with nothing I let Xavier take over. We stopped and looked around, scanning the surrounding area.
"I know you're there, so you can either come out and explain to me why you've been following me, or I can find you and I'll extract that information myself" I growled impatiently.
I heard sticks snapping, and leaves crunching along with a chuckle, a female one at that. Still unable to scent them I waited and looked to the tree line that the noise was coming from.
Finally, she came out revealing her scent to me.
"Is that so, Alpha Black?" my mate grinned mischievously, a challenge hidden in her eyes.
I swallowed but wasn't sure what exactly to do besides stare blankly back at her. My thoughts however, were going a mile a minute. Why was she following me? Was she curious? How could she hide her scent? I had a million thoughts running through my head. So I said the only thing I really wanted to know right now, the thing I needed to know,
"How were you able to hide your scent from me?" I asked tense, staring her straight in the eyes.
Her eyes shifted for but a moment, however, I saw. She straightened her posture and returned my gaze.
"Where were you headed Alpha Black?" She asked as stoically as she could, yet I heard the tease at the end of my title as it rolled off her tongue. Ahhh, I must say I'm impressed, but she's not getting off the hook that easy. So I continued, egging her on,
"I don't answer to you kitten, however I am interested as to why you were following me?" I answered with a grin of my own.
I watched as she tried to hold back the shiver that traveled the length of her spine as the nickname rolled off my tongue. Then she tensed, coming out of her dazed like state, realization clear in her eyes. Her eyes came to life as her wolf stood with her in this moment, eyes bright as ever and canines as threatening as they are sharp.
"As the packs leading warrior I am in charge of keeping you and Alpha Marcus safe. So Alpha or not, this is my territory and you will answer to me when I speak to you." She finished with a snarl.
That's when I felt Xavier push forward, eyes darkening and canines elongating. He thought the world of our mate and loved her spit fire spirit, but he'll be damned if he let her speak to us like that.
"And what is it kitten, that makes you think that you have that kind of power over me?" I said lowly, pushing her just a bit more. And it seemed to have worked because she let out a snarl of her own.
"Don't tempt me Alpha, I'd hate to make a show of you in front of your own warriors". She replied darkly, a hidden promise made.
It was then that I noticed some of my warriors stood by in case. I turned towards my little mate once more and stalked towards her slowly telling my warriors all was fine and to leave us be.
She regarded me carefully, watching my every move. It wasn't until I was just in arms reach that she looked me in the eye, challenging me. Daring me to do something.
I slowly dipped my head down towards her ear. Speaking low enough for only her to hear.
"Keep this up little one, and you may just find yourself writhing under me. At my mercy" I rasped into her ear.
I felt her body tense, but I could smell her arousal and it drove me up a fucking wall. Hell, she did in general. Xavier made an appearance and I let him hold the reigns for a hot minute. Knowing he'd help our situation.
"Mmmm....feeling a bit hot kitten? " I took a big whiff of her scent and stood still as not to touch her, looking her dead in the eye.
Her eyes were still bright and glowing, only this time with a different meaning. Lust. It swirled and taunted me. Begging me to do something about it, but that'd be too easy.
"No.." she said barely above a whisper, licking her pink plump lips.
Goddess I was getting harder by the second and if I didn't leave now we'd both be in trouble. Leaving her hot and bothered with something to think about I whispered even lower into her ear,
"Lying doesn't suit you mate, I can smell what I'm doing to you. And it's fucking delicious" I finished running my lips up her neck to her ear, which I nipped at lightly. Pulling a small gasp from her pretty little mouth.
Before taking her right there I turned on my heel and continued my path towards Alpha Marcus' house. Leaving my little mate standing there, confused and dazed from Xavier and I. Xavier sniggered in the back of my mind where he now stayed, calm and relaxed and humored beyond words at our little mate and her attempt to control her urges.
This is going to be fun. Xavier agreed, feeling as smug as I was.
Anastasia's POV
I was walking back from dropping Connor off at the pack house with a few guards so he could eat and rest up, when I came across Alpha Black walking.
So rather than deal with him right now, I hid in the tree line hiding my scent. Waiting for him to pass on far enough that he wouldn't notice me as well. I caught myself watching him, taking in his muscular back and how his muscles flexed as he walked with purpose. His dark hair shining in the sun like black silk, and how his scent drove me to thinks things I never would have before. It was like a drug and I couldn't get enough.
'We were blessed when the moon goddess chose him as our mate. He is mouth watering Ana' Luna said heatedly in the link.
'Calm down you horn dog' I teased her.
I found myself taking in his scent and basking in it, when I heard his alluring voice speak.

Great, this was about to get both interesting and annoying.
I made my way to him slower than usual, not wanting to confront him at all. And instead of grumbling, I chuckled.

I watched as he swallowed nervously but wasn't sure what exactly to do with me besides stare blankly back. Although he hid it well, I could still see his thoughts getting the better of him as seconds passed. Until finally he stood straighter and asked in a firm tone using his Alpha command on me,
"How were you able to hide your scent from me?" He asked stoically, staring me straight in the eyes.
I shifted my gaze but only for a second, straightening my posture and returning his glare. Rather than answer I opted for a question of my own,
"Where were you headed Alpha Black?" I asked stoically, but decided to make this a bit more fun, teasing the words at the end of his Alpha title as it rolled off my tongue. I could feel Luna perking up at my tone towards our mate.
"I don't answer to you kitten, however I am interested as to why you were following me?" He answered with a sly grin, full of confidence.
I could feel Lunas giddiness at our mates actions towards us as we shivered in pleasure. The feeling moving all along my spine as the nickname for us rolled off his tongue. I didn't know if I wanted to rip a new one or rip his clothes off. Goddess what is wrong with me.
After quickly getting my thoughts in check I realized all of what he'd said. That he challenged our authority, and that is when Luna made her appearance. Eyes shining bright and canines extended we stood tall glaring at him.
"As the packs leading warrior I am in charge of keeping you and Alpha Marcus safe. So Alpha or not, this is my territory and you will answer to me when I speak to you." I snarled at him.
That's when his wolf decided to push forward, eyes darkening and canines lengthening. It seemed they didn't like what I had to say. Luna was proud to stand her ground with me.
"And what is it 'kitten', that makes you think that you have that kind of power over me?" He growled out deeply, pissing me off even more as he used that stupid nickname again. Kitten! Ha if it wasn't my job to protect him right now I'd show him just how much of a fucking kitten I am!
I released a powerful snarl, getting the attention of some of his warriors. Good they can watch their Alpha unsuccessfully overpower me.
"Don't tempt me Alpha, I'd hate to make a show of you in front of your own warriors". I replied darkly, a hidden promise made as I grinned cynically at him loving how he was getting riled up and frustrated with me.
Alpha Black then noticed some of his warriors standing by in case I followed through in whooping his ass. What happened next caught me off guard completely. His warriors dispersed and left us alone and his demeanor changed entirely....
Turning back towards me he stalked over slowly.
I regarded him carefully, watching his every move. If he made the wrong move it'd almost be his last if he weren't my mate.
It wasn't until he was right by me that I looked him in the eye, challenging him silently. It has been a while since I've had a good fight.
Slowly he dipped his head down towards my left ear. Speaking low enough for only us to hear.
"Keep this up little one, and you may just find yourself writhing under me. At my mercy" He rasped huskily. I shivered again and this time couldn't control it one bit, he was too close. I can't think clearly when he's this close in proximity of me.
I tended up, trying to control myself and the things he was doing to me.But damn he smelled delicious, not that I'd tell him that to his face.
His wolf appeared again, eyes ablaze.
"Mmmm....feeling a bit hot kitten?" He took a deep breath in and stood very still making sure not to touch me, while still looking me dead in the eye. Luna was panting like a damn traitor.
I found my will to speak again, well tried.
"No.." I answered half heartedly, wetting my dry lips.
Once more he leaned in even closer and whispered at an octave I never would've guessed his voice could go.
"Lying doesn't suit you mate, I can smell what I'm doing to you. And it's fucking delicious" He breathed into my ear, running his soft lips up my neck and to my ear, nipping at it lightly. Barely holding onto my sanity I let go a small gasp, not being able to help it.
I was mad that I couldn't control myself more. My breathing was ragged and uneven to my dismay.
Before I could get another word out he turned on his heel and continued down the same path back towards Marcus' house. I was left standing there, confused as hell. And frustrated enough to go on a run before Luna or I jumped him right there.
