'After a second of admiring the scenery. I look to see what in the world had stopped me from rolling all the back to Lockwell. I was in the middle of the meadow; as was also a wagon, and it seemed to me that I must have hit one of the wheel's, because the wheal was laying in the grass completely off the axle and aside from that, their was nothing else out here in the meadow that could have stopped me. No one around as far as the eye could see. No horse either, but the wagon was completely stocked with supply's.'
("What a way to start. Rolling down a hill and breaking other peoples things." Said Midnight "What should we do?" Asked Sympathy. "Probably head for Lockwell." Said Level. "What about Zea and Cloe?"Asked Star. "Yeah, they still think were with them in them in the wagon." Said Sympathy. "What do you want to do? Race them to town, sneak back on the wagon so we can be there to be 'let out'?" Said Midnight. "As much as it pains me to say it Midnight's right there is nothing we can do at this point, so lets just find the road and get to Lockwell that was the plan Zea and Cloe favored anyway." Said Level.)
'I went to start heading for the road when it occurred to me that I had no Idea how far away the road was and which direction it was in.'
("If there was ever an especially bad time to not have a sense of direction this would be it." Said Midnight. "No kidding." Said Charlotte.")
("Alright new plan, we will wait here until the owner of this wagon comes by." Said Level. "And what are going to tell the owners when they ask what happened to the wheel?"Asked Midnight "The truth." Said Sympathy."Well not the complete truth obviously but just tell them a piece of the truth, and besides it's not like it's going to be a wagon of someone important.")
'I pick up the wagon wheel to examine it, and I look at the axle.'
("Hmm it doesn't seem too hard of a fix." Said Comment "You would just need away to elevate the axle, and secure the wheel so that it doesn't fall off.")
'I set the wheel down in the grass, and I try lifting the axle up, and managing to lift it up slightly before doping it back down.'
("So much, for that plan." Said Midnight. "Guy's do you hear that!"Said Charlotte)
'As if being summoned out of my thoughts, I began to to hear whispers. In an animal dialect, but it was unusually higher pitched any animal I was aware of.'
"Hello? is someone there?" I ask, and I listened.
"Do you think she can hear us?" Said a small high pitched voice.
"What is she?" Said a different one.
"Don't be ridiculous girls its just another one of those inconsiderate elf's, why the royal pixilen associate with those creatures I will never know. Oh, don't worry darling they couldn't hear us if we were right next to their ear drums." Said a slightly deeper voice then the last two.
'I bending down into the grass, knowing whoever was talking couldn't bigger than a field mouse. and I say.'
"If you would forgive me for asking, but what do you mean by 'inconsiderate'?"
"What, I-well- I mean- by the sun's." Said the deeper but still high pitched voice.
"Uh, could you come out a bit? I can't see you from right here." I say staring at the direction the voices were coming from.
"Well I suppose." said one of the other high pitched voices a bit flabbergasted.
'I almost gasped in surprise, as three small little people with vibrant colorful wings, slowly walked out into the open, their dresses purely made out of flower petals and leaves their strikingly young faces mixed with a cautious-curiosity.'
"Hello I'm Leona, this is my mother Tarri."Said the miniature fairy-like person with a violet dress gesturing to the tallest one who looked older than the other two, but still held an elegant blue beauty even in shock. "And my sister Teana." And pointed to the smallest one with an adorable pink glow of shyness.
"Who are you?" Piped up Teana.
"Oh I'm Macy." I said and Teana giggled.
"That's a funny name." Not knowing weather or not I should be offend I just smiled.
"I'm sorry, but how in the world do you understand our language? Most elves can only hear strange noises or so we'v been told." Said Tarri
"My magic covers animal languages?" I lie in an unconvincing way.
"That makes sense our language is a bit rodent based, but what's an maiden like you doing this far off from the road?"
"I was traveling with a group but we got separated and I lost the road a little while ago and I've trying to find it since." I say.
"So then this isn't your mess." Said Leona indicating to the wagon.
"No, I don't know where it came from, it's just I think I may have caused one of the wheals to come off when I..." I pause trying to find a way to say this.
"When you came rolling down the hill in a barrel? We saw the whole thing."Said Tarri.
"Yeah, but sh-Owch."I briefly saw Leona pinch her sister.
"We can help you fix it." said Tarri. "And help you find the road."
"Could you?"I ask perking up.
"Yes, but would you do us a favor first." She continued.
"Sure what's the favor?"I ask.
"We will explain on the way there."Said Leona.
"How far is it?" I ask.
"Ten minutes, we'll take you there." They said.
("Hold on we have only been in this world for twenty minutes and we are already talking to strangers?" Said Charlotte "I know. Isn't this exciting?" Said Midnight. "Yeah totally." Charlotte croaked." )
'After a few minute of walking I get this uneasy feeling that I am being watched and I ask.'
"So what is it that you need me to do?"
"Well you see, pixie's aren't the only things that live's in this valley, we have been also sharing the land with the gnomes. You see there home got trampled on by a group of wrestling giant's and we offered to let them stay here, the only problem is we don't understand their language and they don't understand our's." Started Leona.
"So we built a library so we could both study and communicate with our different language-" Teana cut off Tarri.
"But then this big mean Grimalkin appeared out of no where and is guarding the library and wont let any one in and those who try get gobbled up!"
("So this is what I have understood-correct me if I am wrong-but the people who are talking to me are called pixies and we are trying to help them and the gnomes get rid of a creature called a Grimalikn?" Said Star. "Pretty much. So do we want to keep going?" asked Level, everyone nodded except for Charlotte merely just whimpered.)
'As we Kept walking I felt more and more eyes, and I was able to catch a few glances of the gnomes-Humans had three things right: pointed ears and a colorful pointed hat's made out of flower petals and duller shades of clothing. However the gnomes were just as young looking and as small as the pixies; though, there where obvious differences, the hands and feet and heads were a little bit odd proportioned and besides that you could just tell the difference in their faces.- has we kept walking the more eye's followed our direction.'
"Your are almost there just over this hill." Said Tarri, Leona, and Teana stopping.
"Your not coming with me?" I Ask.
"I think you'll be able to kill it on your own." Said Tarri.
("Wait hold up! No ever said about killing anything!" Said Star. "This wasn't part of the deal!" Said Sympathy. "We don't even know a what a Grimalkin is! Who knows we are even a match for such a creature! Said Charlotte stressing out.")
'With out thinking and with out wanting to hesitate any longer I start running up the hill not knowing what the blazes I was doing, I just traveled up higher until, I start to feel myself going down hill, and I see a small little door built into the core of the tree and I stop and see with my own two eyes...'
'A Cat.'
'Not a bobcat. Not a even a feral cat. Just your average normal domestic Siamese cat.'
'The cat and I have a serious starring contest for one moment, and then I ask.'
"Are you by any chance the Grimalkin?"
"Yeah that's my name, who are you."
"Macy Carla, um, so how did you get here? I don't spouse you live here do you?"
"Of coarse not, my master was trying to get through this country I went out hunting for mice early this morning and a bunch of these little elves started poking me with their pitchforks drove me to this point and I had no where to run so I fought back."
"I see. Wait hold on a minute I found a wagon just a few miles back full of supply's but I couldn't find the owners I broke one of the wheals on accident." I added.
"It could be my masters could you show it too me? I have had enough adventure for one day!" He said Exasperated.
'I got an idea, and I lay my jacket on the ground and ask.'
"Do you trust me?"
"Yeesss."
"Alright then jump in my jacket and I'll cover you up. Now I need to warn you I'm going to make it sound like I killed you but no matter what don't move and play dead."
'He looked at me funny but did has I asked and I scooped him up in my jacket and I start walking back up the hill, as I walked down the hill I could hear many small voices celebrating has I walked down back to the small valley.'
"You did it!" Said a gnome
"Are you sure it's dead?" Asked a pixie.
"Yeah it's dead." I say as I carefully make my way to the familiar small family of pixies. Making sure I didn't step on a pixie or gnome. Tarri Just looked at me with mild surprised.
"Can we head back now to the wagon so you can keep your promise." I ask.
"Of coarse this way then." As she motioned back up the trail.
'As soon as we got there Tarri used her magic to not only lift up the wagon but also put back the wheal on all on her own.'
"Now darling if I am correct you are looking for the road?" She continued.
'Shaking from my speechless state, I set Grimalkin on the now fixed wagon and I reply.'
"Yes."
"Well that 's easy it's just east from here you can't miss it." Said Teana pointing in the direction I needed to go.
"Thank you, thank you so much!" I say as I run in to the direction she pointed.
'As soon as Macy was out of sight Leona said to the wagon.'
"See I told you it wasn't anyone from the king's men guard." As she spoke a young male elf appears out of from behind the sheets and reply's.
"Well, how was I supposed to know that? You see the thing about being on the run is you can't take any chances. And by the way what was the big idea Tarri? You know perfectly well that you pestered that girl for no reason. The wheal came off when we hit the rock."
"Yeah and why didn't you tell me that Grimalkin was just Russels cat?" Said Teana.
"If it will all make you feel better it wasn't my idea. It was it Princes Leona." Said Tarri.
"Care to explain what you've have been up too." Said Russel.
"Certainly, you see moments after the incident of the wheal we heard this scream, and we told you to hide."
"Yes, I was there for that. What about it?" He asked impatiently.
"I'm getting there! When you ducked into hiding I asked Tarri to stop the barrel from rolling. She put up a force field and we just watched as the girl crawl out and then after looking around we heard her say: 'So this is the kingdom of light.' isn't that such an odd thing to say? And what's more, I know you couldn't see her cause you where under the sheets but she looked exactly like your cousin that's from the Naught world."
"That can't be. She wrote to me exactly that she wasn't going to be able to come." Said the elf smoothing down his hair scowling in thought.
"That's what I thought! And that's about when Teana showed up and told me about Grimalkin, and told me that he was staked out by the the library. So I whispered to Tarri and told her I wanted to be sure it wasn't your cousin and that's around when she over heard us and started talking to us and said she could understand our language. That's when I knew it couldn't be your cousin because you mentioned that you would have to translate for her because she couldn't speak our language."Said Leona.
"So you mean to tell me, someone is impersonating my cousin and you let her go!" Russel's voice rising slightly.
"Let me finish! Naturally I thought she was an impersonator too, but just the way she acted didn't seem like a true impersonator, if she was, she did a good job acting like she didn't know about a single thing about the royalty. In fact she didn't even claim to be your cousin. She claimed to be something-uh-Macy, And then I remembered Grimalkin and how he hate's your cousin so I put her threw the test, and, well Grimalkin what do you think?" Asked Leona trying to get out of this uncomfortable spot light. You would not have even realized the cat was even there if she hadn't of pointed him out, he was simply basking in the sun.
"She interesting, very, very interesting." He contemplated.
"Yes, Yes She can speak the animal language, yes that's very interesting." Said Russel voice edged with sarcasm.
"I thought that was another unique feature. But unique does not mean the same thing as interesting. No the thing I find interesting is an elf..." He stood up walked over to Russel and brushed his against his leg.
"....That's never set foot in the light kingdom, an elf who passes off looking like royalty but doesn't realize it, and an elf who smells strongly of humans with a hint of Demon-Dragons."
'Silence fell after that.'
