Percy/Luke's POV
Things being really weird around the house is an understatement.
Mayla refuses to talk to me and when she does, she snaps at me and blames me for something.
Andy realised he needs to act like he's 'affected by the curse', even through he broke through; so he's distant, only talking to me about work or checking up on me.
And Ava is completely avoiding me, and when I walk in the room, gets startled and runs out.
Like she's hiding something.
'You know what I think?' Order asked 'I think she's fighting it, and the curse is trying to get her away from you otherwise Ava will break through'
"That does make sense" I said out loud, tapping my guitar with my pencil, trying to write a song.
'You're stuck on ideas, aren't you?' Order asked.
"Yep" I said "I also have to write a statement at one point talking about the...situation" I replied, groaning.
'Oh, a life of a superstar! It's so exhausting!' Order teased.
"Shut up" I muttered, feeling a smile appear on my face "You would think I would be used to it by now"
'Well, you've been doing this for almost 6 yea-' Order started and then stopped as I stopped tapping the guitar 'You're not talking about your career are you? You're talking about your betrayals aren't you?'
I nodded.
"I've been betrayed so many times I can't count them" I said "I'm surprised I'm not hurt by this one...maybe I broke my flaw"
'Fatal flaws are strange and wonderful things' Order said, 'We will never know'
I chuckled.
"Maybe I should ask the fates" I joked "If I have a more fucked up life ahead of me"
'Luke, it's rude to curse the fates like-'
"I do it all the time, it's fine" I said "They kinda like me...they at lest told me I technically not qualified to be Percy Jackson anymore"
'Really?' Order asked.
"Have I not told you-"
"Could you do songwriting somewhere else?"
I didn't look up and sighed, knowing the person will insult me either way.
"Well this is the living room and my house, I can do what I please" I replied, looking at my lyrics...well a blank page.
"But you're going to make so much noise" the female voice said.
"If you have a problem with that you're more than happy to leave, don't know why you still live under my roof and hate me" I said bitterly.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you!"
I looked up and realised it was an angry looking Ava.
It took my by so much surprise I dropped my sparkling blue guitar.
Ava jumped.
"I-I didn't mean to frighten you" Ava said.
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm just shocked you're talking to me, that's all" I said coldly as I grabbed my guitar, knowing she won't be kind back.
'Luke, this is your chance to get Ava!' Order exclaimed.
"Excuse me for trying to be nice to you" Ava said coldly back as I stood up.
"Nice?" I asked, as I lent my guitar on the chair "You literally threatening me before"
"Well, you deserve it!" She exclaimed, trying to sound threatening.
I looked up and into her eyes, trying not to show any emotion.
"What can you do to me anyway?" I teased "You're just a mortal...you're weak"
'Bad move' Order commented 'This is not what I meant by-'
Ava walked up to me and slapped me.
I just laughed, with a playful smirk on my face as I faced back to her angry face.
"I'm not lying am I?" I asked.
I notice her blushing a little bit.
"Blushing?" I said, and laughed "Really? You still care for me?"
She didn't say anything for a second.
"Why would I care for you?" she said sourly "You disgust me in everyday, I hope you have a torturous death"
I widened my eyes, feeling my heart breaking.
I closed my eyes, trying to hold back tears.
"Leave" I said, knowing I'm on the verge of a panic attack.
"Wait-"
"Leave now or I will hurt you in the worse way possible" I snapped, snapping my eyes open, knowing they're glowing purple.
She widen her eyes, tears running down her own face as she ran out the room.
I immediately teleported to my room and sobbed.
'Oh Luke' Order whispered.
"I-It hurts so much Order" I whispered "I know it's painful for her as well, being f-forced to say those words-"
'I know' Order whispered 'I know'
I sat on my bed and sighed.
"Why are the people I get close to hurt by me?" I whispered "Is it just better for me to be alone?"
'Do not take that route Luke, I went down there' Order said 'It will only lead to anger and bitterness'
"I rather that than being hurt over and over again" I exclaimed, falling backwards onto my back "I'm better off without friends to hurt me...and they're better off without me"
'You know that's not true' Order said 'Acting cold doesn't help-'
"Well it helps me!" I snapped "Being cold is the only way I can't get hurt, the only way my emotions can't get in the way of anything!"
'Percy-'
"Order, don't call me by that name!" I snapped.
I sighed, trying to calm down.
"Sorry Order...Sorry" I whispered.
'it's fine...you have your own opinion' Order said 'I'm just warning you from previous experience...please...try to reach out to people...like Ava, standing outside your door, listening to everyone you just said out loud'
I bolted up and narrowed my eyes.
"Ava? what do you want?"
'Luke' Order said sternly, as a warning.
Ava opened the door, her facial expressions showing shock.
Her brown eyes are warmer looking.
"What do you want?" I hissed, wiping my tears "Here to mock me? Please, it does you no-"
She walked towards me and sat down on my bed, next to me.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
I saw something flicker in her eyes.
Something that screamed 'help me'
I widen my eyes.
I didn't know what to do.
'Well duh, you kiss her' Order said 'You know, true love's kiss? Like from those cliche fairytales that are so revolting?'
I almost laughed out loud but snapped my attention to Ava, who was looking at me creepily.
"Ava? Are you okay?" I asked, generally confused.
'Why aren't you doing it!?' Order asked.
Well, I don't want to be slapped in the face again thank you!
'Well you don't know until you try!'
"I-I" Ava hesitated.
She looked down.
"Ava, look at me" I whispered.
She looked up, a strand of her chocolate brown hair falling in front of her face.
I subconsciously moved it out of her face and behind her ear.
We locked eyes.
If this doesn't work Order, I am going to kill you.
And I kissed her.
She was surprised at first, but she kissed me back.
We both gasped for breath, tears going down both of our faces.
Thinking what I've done, I immediately stood up, not even looking at Ava.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to" I said and took a breath "I know what you're going to say, you're going to hate me like everyone-"
"Luke"
I turned to Ava to notice the faint smile on her face...and her eyes are her normal bright brown.
"You freed me" she whispered.
I closed my eyes and shook my head.
I couldn't believe it.
I didn't want to believe it.
It would only get her hurt I-
"Luke, it's okay...I'm here now" Ava said "Luke...please open your eyes"
I opened my eyes slowly.
"I-Is this a dream?" I asked.
She shook her head.
I immediately hugged her and sobbed in her arms, knowing she's doing the same thing.
"The things I said to you, I'm so-"
"It's okay Ava, you were controlled" I whispered, cutting her off "It's fine, as long as you're here now"
As long as she's here now.
