Arthur-
He knew what it was like to not completely like who you are but this was something else, he never thought about doing this and he was both confusing and heartbreaking. He would instantly tell himself that he was going to be there to you, no matter what. He is determined to remind you of how beautiful he thinks you are, how wonderful he thinks you are, and he will keep doing so until you believe him. He doesn't really know if it helps at all but he will take you out of camp sometimes, just to go on rides with you, thinking that maybe it would distract you or something. He just wants to help! He may even draw you, just to show you how he sees you. The way that he wishes you would see yourself. He doesn't really ask to see your scars because he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable but he asks you to be honest with him, to tell him if you have harmed yourself again or if you feel like doing so.
Dutch-
It does break his heart when he first finds out, he thinks that you are just wonderful and he doesn't understand how or why you would do that to yourself. So, he tries to understand. He will sit and listen to you explain everything, he will definitely comfort you when you need comforting. He's pretty used to being in control so it really distresses him that he has no control over this, he can't stop you from getting hurt that that frustrates him. But he knows better than to make this about himself. He knows that you don't like when he pays a lot of attention to your scars but he's told you that he would like to 'monitor' them, for the lack of a better word. You understand that he is just worried about you and wants to keep up to date with what is going on with you but it can still make you uncomfortable, he understands that and won't push you.
Micah-
When Micah first finds out about your self harm, to put it simply, he doesn't understand. He's not had any experience with this so he doesn't understand and he isn't sure what to do. However, he wants to understand, he wants to know everything. He means well but doesn't really know how to speak to you about it, he isn't the best at talking. What he doesn't understand the most is why you don't just stop but he listens and tries his best to understand, even if it takes a while. Micah wants to see if your still self harming because he wants you to stop but he doesn't know how to bring it up with you. When you're alone there is a chance he will just roll your sleeve up to see for himself. Still, if you make it clear that you don't want him to see them and that it makes you uncomfortable, he will accept it even if it annoys him. He is surprisingly gentle and sympathetic when you are talking about it or he sees your scars, he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable, he wants you to be able to trust him with this. Micah may never fully understand but he will still be there for you.
Charles-
Okay, first things first, as soon as he sees your scars he will patch up any fresh wounds and then he will talk to you about it. He wants to do anything to can to help but understand that it probably isn't that easy. Charles always makes you feel safe and you know that he isn't judging you, you feel like you can tell him everything honestly. He knows that you're uncomfortable with people seeing your scars but when you are alone, he like to see them so that he can see that you haven't added to them. Always makes you feel safe with showing your scars though! Will take no as an answer if you don't want to show them that day, he understands. Charles will take you on trips out of camp to beautiful locations that he has found, hoping to remind you of the beauty in the world.
Javier-
When Javier first sees your scars and finds out about the self harm, he is speechless, mostly in shock. He is determined to not let this change anything, though. He absolutely loves to see you smile and will try to get a smile or a laugh out of you all the time. Still, he knows when he should just comfort you and hold you. He knows when you aren't in the mood to put on a smile and he understands that, but that doesn't stop him from trying to remind you that he loves you and that he thinks you are absolutely perfect to him. Romantic gestures! He just never wants you to feel like he doesn't care or that he is too busy for you, you are his number one priority and he wants you to know that.
Sean-
When Sean first sees your scars he goes silent, he doesn't know what to say, he doesn't know what to do, and he doesn't really understand what is going on. He's never experience anyone who self harms or has self harmed so he's confused. He just kinda stares until he realises that he's probably making you uncomfortable. He just wants to be able to make everything better and feels useless when you explain that it isn't that simple. For once, he keeps his mouth shut and doesn't tell any of the others, he would never do that to you. He is kinda hopeless but tries his best, he is constantly reminding you how much he loves you and how important you are to him. He just wants you to remember that you are loved, you are important, and you should love yourself.
Hosea-
Hosea's first reaction when he sees your scars is sympathy but he tries to make you feel comfortable and safe with him. He wants you to be able to talk to him about this. It may not be something that he has a lot of experience with but he probably has some knowledge of it. He's seen all sorts of things, this probably isn't the craziest. Still, it upsets him. He hated the thought of you getting hurt and it was ever worse that you were the one hurting yourself. Like Dutch, he wants to 'monitor' your scars. Eventually you will feel comfortable enough around him to have your scars on show around him without being self conscious. Of course Hosea is glad about this since he wants you to be comfortable around him but it also makes it easier for him to tell if you are harming yourself or not.
Kieran-
When Kieran first saw your scars, when he first found out about your self harm, he just felt like crying but tried to be strong for you. You just mean so much to him and he can't understand how you could ever do this to yourself. He thinks you are perfect so it's a little hard for him to accept that you don't have the same image of yourself. He doesn't know what he should do so he does the only thing he can; he listens to you explain, he holds you if cry, he comforts you when you need it, he reminds you that you are loved and that he thinks you are just wonderful. Kieran is definitely the type of person who kisses all your scars if your comfortable with that, he's just so soft.
John-
When John first finds out about your self harm, he is speechless. He doesn't understand but he wants to, for your sake. There are going to be some awkward questions but just bare with him, he isn't sure what is okay to ask and what isn't. Just let him get used to the dos and don'ts because he is really trying hard. Of course, he is going to comfort you. He isn't completely hopeless. Hugs, kisses, reassuring words, silence, just listening, whatever you need. Your scars upset him, he doesn't like the thought of you hurting yourself, but he knows not to make a huge deal out of it. He will get used to the sight of them but, no matter what, he would be there for you when you need him.
Bill-
When Bill first sees your scars and you explain them to him, he has no idea what to say or do. It's just a lot for him to process. He is a little afraid of saying the wrong thing, he knows that he has a habit of doing that or his pure intentions don't get across. So, at first, he might seem hesitant about acknowledging it at all, but he will relax around you and get over his fears. He just doesn't want to say the wrong thing and upset you or make you mad at him, he wants you to talk to him about it and is afraid that if he says the wrong thing you won't trust him anymore. He will definitely try his best. He has no idea what to say (seriously, what can he say?) but he will listen for as long as you need. He isn't great at comforting people but he will hold you whenever you need that comfort or affection. He does not think any differently of you! He still loves you and thinks that you're a saint for giving him a chance.
Lenny-
When Lenny first finds out about your self harm, he is definitely shocked and taken back but handles it pretty well. He reacts relatively well to it. He comforts you before asking any sort of questions. Once you are ready to talk about it, he will ask you about it, understanding if there are some questions you aren't comfortable answering. Overall, he just wants you to feel safe with him, he wants you to know that you do not need to hide your scars from him because he won't think any differently of you. He will make sure to remind you that you are love and that you are important, especially to him. He mainly wants you to know that if you need to talk, if you need comfort, if you need someone to listen, you can always go to him. He would much prefer for you to go to him than to hurt yourself.
Strauss-
Strauss likely hasn't experienced this before and if he has, he has never been so close to the person before. He has probably never talked about self harm with anyone before but he would be pretty good at keeping calm when doing so, even if it broke his heart to know that you were hurting yourself. He knew that he didn't really understand it so he would listen when you talked about it, when you did your best to explain it. He would comfort you when you needed it. He would understand your discomfort about showing your scars so he would never ask to see them but if you were to show him them one day, he would be honoured by the trust you had in him. He's going to be there for you every step of the way.
Sadie-
It breaks her heart, it absolutely breaks her heart. You are so precious to her, she wants to protect you but she didn't realise that she should be tying to protect you from yourself. Sadie is going to listen like her life depends on it, she wants to understand and learn without pushing to you to talk about anything that makes you too uncomfortable. But if you want to talk about it later, when you're more comfortable with it, she will be there to listen then. She will hold you for as long as you need to be held, she will be there for you no matter what. She will make you comfortable enough to be able to have your scars on show around her without feeling like she is staring at them. In a weird way she likes when she can see your scars, only because she can see that you haven't added to them. She is going to treat you like she normally would, scars or no scars she loves you and that will not change.
Trelawny-
When Josiah finds out about your self harm, when he first sees your scars, his first instinct is to comfort you and tell you he loves you. He wraps his arms around you and embraces you, instantly letting you know that he still loves you and that his opinion on you hasn't changed. He understands that it might take you some time to be comfortable sharing information with him but he will wait for you, he knows that it might take a little while for you to be able to have your scars visible but that is okay and he will wait. Once you are comfortable enough to speak about it, he will listen, when you are comfortable enough to show him, he will still love you. He still thinks that you are beautiful and nothing could change that, you're still you. Do the scars make you feel ugly or self conscious? Well, Josiah is going to softly kiss each and every one of them while reminding you how much he loves you.
Swanson-
Orville knows what it's like to hit your own rock bottom. He figures that while he used to intoxicants to ease his pain, you did this. So in some way he can understand, but it still makes him want to cry when he finds out what you've done. The thought of you hurting yourself just pains him. He is going to give you all of the love and comfort and affection that you could ever need, he cherishes you and he is going to make sure that you know it. He never judges you for your scars or makes you feel uncomfortable about having them visible. He would definitely kiss your scars (only if your comfortable of course!) to let you know that he loves you with the scars or not.
