jian and hyunsoo were sitting on a bench that was right next to each other, enjoying their lunch meals together. hyunsoo looked down as he ate his sandwich, swinging his legs back and forth. jian looked over, smiling at the boy, "enjoying your sandwich?"
the younger boy nodded his head, looking up at jian, "do you want a bite?" he offered as he lifted the sandwich to the boy's mouth.
jian smiled softly, taking a bite of the sandwich. hyunsoo smiled at jian, looking back down at his legs as he continued to swing them back and forth while eating his sandwich. the two boys talked for awhile and finished their lunches, until they got interrupted.
"hey," a familiar voice said, "is it okay if i sit with you two?"
jian and hyunsoo both looked up, seeing the same boy from the bullying incident awhile back. hyunsoo smiled brightly, patting the extra space right next to him, "sit, tuah!"
tuah smiled at the two boys, sitting down next to hyunsoo. jian glanced at hyunsoo, watching as he immediately started conversation with tuah. the elder boy felt happy for hyunsoo, as he knew that hyunsoo wanted to become friends with tuah. tuah noticed that jian wasn't involved in their conversation, so he decided to add him.
"so, you two," tuah smirked at the two boys, "are you dating yet or what?"
"d-dating?" hyunsoo became flustered at the question, "w-we aren't—"
"we aren't dating, but, we do know we like each other." jian explained, saving hyunsoo from becoming any more flustered.
tuah pouted at the response, "come on, guys. you really aren't dating yet?"
hyunsoo shook his head, "j-jian hasn't asked me out yet."
"wait, why do i have to do it?" jian questioned, looking at hyunsoo, then looking at tuah who covered the part of his mouth that was available to hyunsoo and mouthed, "he's the bottom."
jian's expression became shocked, then to being not surprised as it was pretty obvious, "nevermind, i know why." the elder then turned to tease hyunsoo, "it's because some little baby is too shy to do such things, huh, hyunnie?"
"ji!" the youngest boy pouted, "shut up!"
both tuah and jian started laughing, leaning over hyunsoo and giving each other a high five. hyunsoo continued to pout, looking at jian, "you're so mean."
jian wrapped an arm around hyunsoo, pulling the boy closer as he kissed his forehead, "i'm sorry, hyunnie. do you forgive me?"
hyunsoo looked up at jian, humming while he thought, "do you promise to come over and eat dinosaur chicken nuggets with me?"
jian nodded his head, "i promise, hyunnie."
"seriously you two," tuah spoke up from watching the two interact, "date already."
"you go date someone, tuah." hyunsoo shot back at the boy, resting his head against jian's shoulder.
"the person i like turned out to be a dick, so." he responded.
"was it jax?" jian asked, earning a nod from tuah, "he apologized to me and hyunsoo a little after, but i didn't say anything."
"yeah, he apologized to me too." tuah sighed out, "he said he wishes he never took phan's side, and he should've walked away but i told him to eat shit and i'm not accepting his apology until he shows me serious character development."
"didn't he stop being friends with phan?" hyunsoo questioned.
"mhm." tuah hummed out, "apparently he has no friends now, but, whatever."
"wait, that's sad." the young boy said, "he shouldn't be left alone."
"are you going to forget he made you cry?" jian raised an eyebrow, looking down at hyunsoo.
"w-well, i-it wasn't him who made me cry." hyunsoo pointed out, "h-he only made fun of me for crying, phan was the one who made me cry." the boy said, remembering the day as if it was yesterday, "besides, i'm sensitive! i cry over anything and everything."
tuah looked over at hyunsoo, "so you're willing to forgive the boy who laughed at you for crying?"
"he doesn't deserve to be lonely." hyunsoo responded.
"phan's most likely lonely too since tuah dropped both him and jax, and if jax dropped phan, then yeah, he's lonely." jian spoke up.
"well, phan deserves to be alone for being a meanie." the younger boy crossed his arms over his chest, "but jax apologized, so, he should be forgiven, right?"
"there's no way tuah and i can convince you to not forgive him, huh?" the eldest boy sighed out, "whatever, let's go find this kid and tell him we accept his apology."
hyunsoo got up from where he was sitting, smiling at the two boys as he picked up his backpack and waited for the two other boys to join him. the three boys then walked around campus, in search of jax.
"oh shit, he really is alone." tuah spoke up, seeing jax sitting by a tree and reading a book, "damn."
"that's so sad." the youngest boy pouted, "come on, guys, let's be his friend."
jian groaned out, rolling his eyes, "we should just leave him there."
"yeah, i agree." tuah nodded his head, "he hasn't proved to me he's changed."
"but he's no longer friends with phan." hyunsoo pointed out, "how bad can he be?"
"you can go and be friends with him, but i want to be proved that he means his apology." tuah confessed, "we aren't stopping you, we're just waiting it out."
"fine, i'll go by myself." the younger said before walking away.
jian crossed his arms over his chest, clicking his tongue, "my hyunnie better not come back crying, that's all i have to say."
"i don't think jax is stupid enough to mess up again, but, who knows." tuah shrugged, as he kept an eye on hyunsoo and jax.
hyunsoo walked up to jax, looking down at the boy, "h-hey, i-is it okay if i sit with you?" he asked.
jax looked up from his book, nodding his head as he picked his backpack up and placed it on the other side of him. hyunsoo smiled softly, sitting down where jax's backpack was. the younger hummed out, looking at jax's book, "so, what book are you reading?"
"simon vs. the homo sapiens agenda." jax responded, looking up at hyunsoo.
the boy furrowed his eyebrows, "isn't that the book that eventually turned into love, simon?"
jax nodded his head, "why are you so surprised?"
"because i thought you hated gay things." hyunsoo mumbled out, "so i'm just confused as to why you're reading something based on gay things."
jax sighed out, shaking his head, "i still don't forgive myself for following phan's footsteps."
"can i ask a question?" hyunsoo looked at jax, earning a nod, "why'd you act like being gay was bad, if now you don't think the same?"
the elder boy closed his book, sighing out again, "you know those people that are homophobic because they're in denial?"
hyunsoo let out a gasp, covering his mouth, "you're gay?!"
"i'm bi." jax corrected the younger, giggling, "but i do currently have a crush on a boy."
hyunsoo smiled at jax, leaning over and hugging the boy, "don't be mad at yourself for being what you are, it's okay, jax. you're you, and everyone deserves to like what they like. liking what you like doesn't make you less of a person."
jax hugged hyunsoo back, feeling grateful for the younger's words. jian and tuah who were still watching the scene became slightly surprised at the two hugging.
"he's hugging your boy." tuah turned to jian, "maybe he really isn't so bad."
jian uncrossed his arms, "well, hyunsoo isn't crying either, so i guess he isn't." the boy turned to tuah, "should we join them?"
"i guess so." tuah shrugged, as they began walking over.
jax pulled away from their hug, seeing tuah and jian come over, "oh, shit." the boy cursed out.
"what's wrong?" hyunsoo asked, looking at jax.
"t-tuah is coming over." he stuttered, "a-and he's the boy i like."
"don't be scared." the younger smiled, "you'll be okay, you have me!"
jax shook his head, quickly opening his book back up and pretending to not be aware of his surroundings. jian walked over to hyunsoo, sitting next to the boy and looking over, watching jax. tuah walked up to jax, looking at the boy, "so, are you going to move your backpack for me to sit?"
jax looked up at tuah, shaking his head, "my imaginary friend, bob, likes to lean against my backpack."
"well, tell bob to move and that i want to sit." tuah sassed jax, who shook his head again. "fine then, i'll just sit in front of you." the boy said as he sat down in front of jax.
"o-on second thought, bob said he wants to sit in front of me." jax responded, getting nervous from tuah's presence.
"bob is already sitting next to you, so i get to sit in front of you." tuah smiled, making jax feel more nervous.
"h-hyunsoo, w-when does the bell ring?" jax asked, looking over at the younger.
"it rings at fifty, and it's thirty right now." hyunsoo responded, taking off his backpack so he could lean against jian.
jax mentally cursed himself, as he didn't know how to act around tuah once he realized his feelings for him. the boy turned to his book, starting to read it again. tuah looked at jax, humming out. the boy leaned back, looking at the book cover and sitting back up, "that's a book on gay, you know."
jian raised an eyebrow, as he wrapped an arm around hyunsoo, "what book is it?"
"simon vs. the homo sapiens agenda." tuah responded, looking at jax who practically refused to look up, "so you really are changing yourself, huh?"
jax looked up, "changing and discovering yourself are two different things."
tuah's eyes widened for a moment, as his expression then turned into a smirk, "so you were just a gay in denial, huh?"
"tuah," jax whined out, "can you stop teasing me just for one minute?"
"and why should i?" tuah continued to smirk.
jax sighed out, looking over at jian and hyunsoo as he saw hyunsoo leaning against jian. the two boys were in their own world, laughing with each other as jian then squished hyunsoo's cheeks with his hand, smiling at how cute the boy looked with his face being squished out. jax looked back at tuah, shaking his head as he turned back to his book.
tuah huffed, leaning back as he watched jax read. the boy then looked up at jax's hair, realizing a piece of it wasn't on the right side. tuah sat back up, running his hands through jax's hair and fixing it for him. the boy then placed a hand underneath jax's chin, having the boy look up at him as he eyed his hair to see if it looked good, "cute."
jax looked back at tuah, "you're gay."
"so are you, baby." tuah smiled, instantly regretting it as jax closed his book and started hitting tuah's leg with it.
tuah bursted into laughter, grabbing jax's wrists, "calm down, panicked."
"leave me alone." jax whined, "you're so mean."
hyunsoo looked over at tuah and jax, softly giggling. jian smiled at hyunsoo's laughter, leaning down and kissing the boy's cheek. hyunsoo's heart skipped at the action, as he smiled softly and cuddled up against jian.
"i love how this visibly shows two different types of couples." tuah laughed at how jian and hyunsoo were cuddling, and how he was messing with jax.
"we aren't a couple." jax shook his head, "it's a privilege to date me, but you don't deserve that privilege."
jian laughed at jax's comment, "you two just keep bickering and teasing."
"because he's a jerk." jax responded, glaring at tuah.
"you're the one that hit me with your book." tuah glared back, letting go of jax's wrists.
"you deserved it." jax shook his head as he turned to his backpack and put his book away.
"it's not my fault you're easily panicked." tuah smirked at jax, who only felt the urge to grab his book again.
"why is this also my cousin and his boyfriend?" hyunsoo questioned, looking at tuah and jax.
"i'm not dating this loser." jax whined, "i would never want to date tuah."
"your dreams say otherwise." tuah continued to tease jax.
"i'm about to throw my whole backpack at you." the boy responded as he rolled his eyes.
tuah laughed at jax, as he then let out a sigh, "fine, i'll stop." the boy then hummed, "so, what are you doing later?"
hyunsoo gasped out, "us four should hang out!"
"but, what about our dinosaur chicken nuggets after school?" jian pouted, "you made me promise."
"nevermind, us four can hang out another day." the younger smiled, "my day is already reserved for a special person."
"i'm not hanging out with this loser alone." jax refused, "i'll wait until you two are free."
tuah pouted at jax, giving the boy puppy dog eyes until he gave in, "please, jax? pretty please?"
jax stared at tuah, trying his best to resist. tuah continued giving jax puppy dog eyes, waiting for the boy to give in.
"fine." jax sighed out, "what is it you want to do?"
"you." tuah smiled, earning shocked reactions from the three other boys.
hyunsoo quickly sat up, grabbing his water to wash down the saliva he choked on from tuah's sentence, while jax and jian just looked at each other with widened eyes.
tuah started laughing at the reactions he got, "i'm only kidding."
"you need to exit your incognito tabs, buddy." jax shook his head, "and keep your dirty self at home."
"he's an eleven year old with a mind of an eighteen year old." hyunsoo spoke up, looking at tuah with a concerned face.
"i was kidding." tuah said again, "i just like to tease jax."
"you're an ass." jax glared, "stop teasing me."
"it's fun seeing you become flustered." tuah smiled, "but, on a serious, non-teasing note," the boy started, "would you like to see a movie with me after school?"
"eat shit." jax crossed his arms, smiling back at tuah.
"eat shit, back at you." tuah laughed, "does four sound good?"
jax nodded his head, "i'll just hang around with you until the movie starts."
tuah smiled again, "sounds good."
"that's gay." hyunsoo mentioned, leaning back against jian.
"says the one cuddling against his boyfriend." jax looked over at the boy, laughing.
"and?" jian questioned, "my hyunnie is the cutest."
hyunsoo smiled at jian's comment, "we're the superior gays here."
"actually, bob and i are the superior gays." jax corrected hyunsoo, "thank you, though."
the four boys started laughing at jax's remark, as they then started talking until the lunch bell rang. the rest of the four boys lunch was filled with laughter and tons of smiles, which made hyunsoo feel happy as he really wanted happiness for everyone.
"see!" hyunsoo told jian while they walked to their class, "jax isn't bad anymore, he was just in denial."
jian glanced over at hyunsoo, grabbing the boy's hand, "i just was afraid he would somehow make you cry, but he didn't, and he turned out to be cool." the boy explained, "and you're happy so that's all that matters."
"so do you forgive him?" hyunsoo questioned.
jian nodded his head, "i forgive him." the boy said, "however, i will definitely never forgive phan."
"who cares about phan?" hyunsoo asked, "i don't. he's a big meanie, and he deserves to get hit by jax and his book."
jian laughed at hyunsoo, "jax is a really panicked boy when it comes to tuah, isn't he?"
"can you blame him? i mean, tuah was being way confident and teasing." the younger responded, "i would be panicked too if i were him."
jian smiled at hyunsoo, looking over at the boy and admiring him, "you're so cute, hyunsoo."
"you're cuter, jian." the boy smiled back, "thank you for forgiving jax."
jian nodded his head, kissing hyunsoo's hand, "you're welcome, cutie."
