Neil had called the nurse in his cabin. The nurse went to him and there he asked her about any suspicious act near the pateint before or after the incident.
The nurse finally replied that for sometime after the pateint was attended by dr.avni the file was left idle. This again proved that only Avni can't be blamed. The immediate recipient of the file was dr. dia and this can raise many doubts.
He thanked the nurse and got back to investigate further but by the time it was the meeting they just had the CCTV with no proper support in either favour and few minor things.
The board along with Prakash and Neela on con call through video gathered.
Neela was briefed about the meet and purpose as well. She surely was restless but she knew that if Avni was willing then that would mean something.
The meeting started and dia,Avni and nurse said their events. The board was thoroughly concerned about the pateint's health but Neil assured them about his safety and prompt action of Avni.
Avni-in my defence , I would like to say that the culprit needs to be found asap as this is the question of authenticity and safety of pateints and ultimately the hospital.
The board nodded and dr.sobti raised his hand in order say his theory. The board gave him a chance to speak.
Sobti- with all due respect, I would like to tell the board that my experience along with many of our seniors would come that Avni is one of the best junior doctor which we have and the mere dosage confusion raises doubt on the authenticity of the doctors name as we know that the high dosage of this medicine would be fatal for anyone. This could not be prescribed by dr.avni. There sure needs to be someone manhandling the doctors file and notepad for the same.
As the nurse too said that the file was left idle and was retrieved by dia. In this case, we need to ask dr.dia as well, cause what was she doing when clearly the duty hours of Avni were over and she had to cater the pateint instead?
This question made dia slight nervous but she tried to handle this.
Dia- as I was informed that Avni took him to take the fresh air , I decided to check upon my other patient.
Neil- but the report says that u didn't attended any of ur patient before the fiasco. And u were early to ur duty as well. May we know y?
Board member:- does this make any sense dr. Neil when we are discussing about Avni here?(slightly confused)
Neil-yes it does sir! And slight correction the discussion here is not on Avni rather the mistake and pateint. So this makes us scan everything and anything related to the patient. As dr.sobti said that we all know that over dosage of the medicine are fatal, so how can any of doctor write it? And specially on his/her own notepad? To top it she would rather than be nursing her wounds rush to the pateint's nurse to investigate about the mishap?
This surely paves ways to many other things like doctors rivalry or something to do with pateint.
Another member- I think dr.neil has an important point over here.
Dia got more nervous.
Dia- This is just great and by me coming this early makes many other things to be thought except for just conspiracy as such about assisting a friend of mine, or any other sort of thing. What would you all get by suspecting me? I too work hard here. This is my future as well, y would I do such thing?
Karan-as u had clearly said the other day that Avni would have to face the worst as she has to face u. Also, not to forget ur enimosity with Avni.

Dia- well that happens between any friends and u r directly targeting me and this is just because she is ur friend.
Dia's father too is a board member and this was known by all that he loves her the most.
Mr. Abhishek- (taking out a paper and pateintly keeping it on the desk) this is a suspension letter for 6 months , the letter is ready as per the norms of the hospital. We all are looking towards the mutual benefit of hospital and the meet is being held for the same and thus I want this to be peaceful event. Whoever has done it, Dia or Avni both gets the last chance to confess and reduce their term of punishment. We would consider it as mistake and I am very particular about it.
Avni-I would like to stay with my old statement and I am not the one to do this. My trust stays with the board of member.
Dia-me as well....(stammering a bit)
Abhishek- I think we should resort to CCTV.
All of them agreed and the CCTV was played. Nothing came out of it and still the management was confused.
Abhishek- it seems that management is unable to trust any of the proofs , so can u both proove ur point and innocence.
Avni-I would like dia to go first as this was so uncertain for her.
Dia- thanks to u for first of all landing me into this mess. I was the one to get the file as I had seen it lying on the table and return it nurse. Yes, I am early today but I was helping neha(dia ki chamchi) out . Then I was in canteen waiting for him. By the time I came to know about emergency,I rushed to him and raised my objections against Avni's prescription and faults where sir saw us and arranged immediate meet. That's all for now.
Avni- is that all what u want to say? U still have a chance , please think twice.
Dia was confused seeing Avni this calm and composed. She just nodded in affirmation.
Avni- now I would like to raise a few doubts which I got to know while examining the pateint.
1) I got peices of original paper in the dustbin behind the bed of pateint...(showing the torn paper)....this clearly states that I have not made any mistake.
2) now , I would like u to have a look at the CCTV footage closely.....here the time period when I was away after prescribing the changes are been tempered ...making it look like nothing had happened.
This states that he/she wanted to clearly frame me or had personal enimity with pateint but question arises how would the patient's enemy have access to hospital notepads?
3) None of the junior doctors are allowed in and near confidential department that has CCTV area covered than how come this earing that is og neha came there. U can check it out with CCTV department they know about it.
I had already requested Prakash sir (nods with a smile) to let me in to check it out.
4) The pen which is been used in prescription was gel pen whereas I never use it as I hate the ink patches. So who can it be?(starts thinking).....haan...one more interesting fact is that dia uses only gel pens.
Dia - this is just a coincidence. Anyone can use this pen , the one who can take the notepad,can even steal a pen. No big deal for it.
Avni- thanks to u dia . Atlast u agreed to it that I am not the one at fault and similarly it can't be a coincidence that the footage was missing of the part where I left the pateint. This not only raises doubt on u but also neha as firstly no one among us had any permission to go inside but her earring was there. The stealing of pen could be digested but how could u justify neha's earring there? Is it like neha has done this on ur saying or was she(raising her voice) fool enough to keep her earring there ?
Board- we appreciate Avni for ur valid points but at the same time request u to please maintain the decorum of the board and behave yourself.
Avni-I would have sir, with all due respect had my dedication and intention not questioned. I thank dr.sobti and neil to support my work but I had expected same dedication and pure intentions towards hospital which ultimately (looks at dia) some of them can think of compromising. But I can't!
How am I going to compromise as I know many of the doctors like sunheri and dd are out there looking forward to work for the hospital with pure mind and any conditions whereas some are considering hospital to be a bait to remove enimosity among each other. Is it just an object for them? I have been quiet towards dia since first day as I thought of her to be angry on me but had never ever thought of her to remove that anger like this on the pateint. That pateint was on the death bed, had dr.neil not guided me or me got fainted during the lift incident who would have been responsible? He had nothing to do with me nor dia then y should he be punished? Has anyone got that answer? I would be quiet if I get assured that this won't be followed again. Is there any gaurantee?
Abhishek- what had happened with pateint was utterly due to rival clash and we board members need to discuss about the security issues and also the term of punishment for dia. As I said initially the norms are norms and I would like to abide them even if it is for my daughter. I would request the board to take the call. I surrender my vote to the majority.
All the members started to discuss among themselves. While they were discussing dia was trying to persuade his dad by all the ways until his dad refused to discuss it further. Neil and Karan were thoroughly impressed by planning and presentation of avni. They were also regretting not being helpful to her.
After a long discussion among the boards , finally the head of board announced to no one in particular.
Board-as this is an important matter and this would directly affect the reputation of our hospital. This act is severely condemned by the management and have decided to suspend dia and her allies neha for next 6 months and for time being would also like some doctors to fill in for that period. Also, this would not be enough as she needs to personally apologize the pateint and Avni as well. Along with that if this type of conduct continues the board would not think twice before cancelling her license. We think this is adequate. Is there anything else needed?
Dia- sir please this is too harsh, I agree I have done wrong but this can't be humanity. This is about our careers sir. Please a chance sir. We promise that we won't do anything wrong please sir . We beg u.
Avni- I think sir that everyone needs a chance to rectify their mistakes,I would like u to rethink about the term of punishment. We would like u to reduce the term of punishment.
Board head- y would u do that? Weren't u the one to ask for justice?
Avni-indeed I wanted justice and that was to make her understand the mistake that she did apart from that I don't need her to be terminated/suspended.
Board- I would like dia to understand her responsibilities properly and she still would be suspended for 3 months irrespective of any changes further in terms.
The board is dismissed.
Dia furiously looked at Avni and ran away from the hospital. While,Avni thanked Karan for the needful and reached towards dr.sobti

She just plainly ignored him and left. She thanked her teammates and acknowledged the nurse. Lastly saw the pateint and left for home. She had a conference to attend which needed her to pack her bags.
