9:00 am

it was now thursday morning, marking it the fifth day that soojin had been ignoring mingyu for. the girl had been standing by her locker, talking to her friend when her friend noticed mingyu. miyeon motioned for mingyu to come over, which confused soojin.

"who did you just—" soojin turned around, seeing mingyu as she immediately turned back to miyeon, "miyeon, what the hell?"

"you need to stop running away from him." miyeon stated, "babe, you're not even smiling as much as you were when you were talking to him." she pointed out, "please stop running from him, and achieve your happiness."

"it's hard, miyeon." soojin whispered under her breath.

"don't let zo's words control the way you live your life forever. zo is a whole bitch and a half that never deserved you, baby." miyeon sighed out, "it's obvious you miss mingyu, and you can see on his face that he misses you too. so, stop running, and talk to him."

"but, miyeo—"

"oops, look like my time here is up!" miyeon smiled, seeing mingyu come up from behind soojin. miyeon kissed soojin's cheek, before backing away, "i'll see you in class, soo!"

soojin glared the girl as she watched her leave, not wanting to turn around and face mingyu. "if you're still here, i'd suggest to you that you should leave." soojin mumbled out, shaking her head.

"too bad, i'm not leaving." mingyu responded, leaning against the locker next to soojin's.

soojin let out a frustrated groan, turning to open her locker. "i don't know why you're still trying." she sighed out, looking into her locker as she tried her best to avoid any contact with mingyu.

"i'm not giving up on you, soojin." mingyu told the girl, "i know you expect me to give up and walk away, but i'm not going to do that." he said, "why would i meet your family and let hyunsoo get attached to me if i was just going to leave you?"

"zo did the same thing." soojin responded, her voice cracking during the sentence as she was trying her best to keep a straight face.

"i'm not zo, and i'll never be that ungrateful bitch." mingyu said, feeling his heart break as he heard soojin's voice crack, "i know you're scared, soojin, but i'm not going to give up on you that easy." he whispered loud enough only for the two to hear the conversation, "i'm not ever going to leave you, and i'll always be here for you when you fall back. i'll be there to help you get right back on your feet and encourage you to always be that happy."

"but i'm moving to korea next month." the girl sighed out, "how would we even work?"

"by not giving up on each other, that's how we will work." mingyu responded, "sure, it'll get hard, but i won't let you go just because of some stupid shit we call distance."

soojin stared into her locker, feeling tears form in her eyes. the girl closed her locker slightly, as she moved over and wrapped her arms around mingyu, resting her head against his chest. mingyu wrapped his arms around the younger's waist, resting his head on top of hers.

"miyeon! they're hugging!" soyeon pointed out to the girl that she was watching from afar with.

miyeon smiled at the scene, "it's about time soojin stopped pushing him away."

"we should beat up zo for what she put soojin through." soyeon suggested, making miyeon laugh, "i'm serious! she made soojin get so afraid of feeling such a simple emotion towards mingyu that she pushed him away."

"i'm sure a lot of people want to beat zo up." miyeon told the younger, "but i'm not going to let you get suspended over someone stupid, okay?"

soyeon pouted, "i could just wear a mask.."

miyeon giggled, grabbing soyeon's hand, "come, let's go to class."

"soojin's gonna be late," the younger laughed, "it's okay! she's with her boyfriend."

the two girls left the hallway to go upstairs, as it started to clear out more the closer it got to the bell ringing. soojin pulled away from mingyu, "i'm sorry for pushing you away, and not giving you any communication."

"it's okay, i'm not upset with you." mingyu responded, smiling at the girl, "i understand how hard it must be getting adjusted to liking someone again, so i don't mind."

"whoever said i liked you?" soojin crossed her arms, sassing mingyu.

"you look at me the way hyunsoo looks at his dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets." mingyu laughed, "seeing the way hyunsoo look at his chicken nuggets is so cute, and you both give the same look when you really like something."

"well, it's not like i can disagree." soojin's voice became soft, "but i don't think anything could compare to the way hyunsoo looks at his dinosaur nuggets."

"hyunsoo is so adorable." the elder boy smiled, "i miss him."

"well, if you miss him so much, why don't you come over after school? he misses you too" soojin suggested, "for hyunsoo, though! not because another person in the household might miss you, but for hyunsoo strictly."

mingyu nodded his head, "of course, strictly for hyunsoo." mingyu paused, "unless someone else wants to tell me they've missed me."

"nope." soojin shook her head, opening her locker and taking her books out, "just hyunsoo." the girl then turned around, realizing the halls were practically empty, "did— did the bell ring?"

mingyu pulled out his phone, looking at the time, "it's going to ring in two minutes."

"shit." soojin cursed as she closed her locker and locked it, "my class is all the way upstairs."

"we better go so we don't become late, huh?" mingyu smiled at the girl, who gave him a confused look.

"if you walk me to class, you're going to be late." soojin pointed out, "my class is upstairs, yours is in this hallway."

the elder shrugged, getting off of the locker he was leaning against and held soojin's free hand, as he walked her to her class.

"mingyu, you're going to be late." soojin whined while they walked, "and then you'll be in trouble because of me and it'll be my fault and—"

"it's okay, soojin." mingyu cut the girl off, "if being late means i get to spend more time with my girl, then i'm completely fine with that."

the girl slightly pouted at mingyu's response, but also felt the urge to smile. "you better not pull this again, because your ass has to be in class learning." soojin scolded.

"i like learning about you more." the boy smiled, as he stopped in front of the girl's class, "i guess next time we have to leave a little earlier."

soojin rolled her eyes, letting go off mingyu's hand, "you better go get your ass to class right now."

mingyu nodded his head, kissing soojin's forehead, "i'll see you after classes."

"see you." soojin softly smiled before walking into class and sitting by her two friends that were watching her and mingyu interact earlier.

once mingyu saw soojin was settled in class, he left the outside of the classroom and headed towards the stairs. while mingyu was walking, the bell rang, signaling he was late to class. the boy shrugged it off, not caring as he continued his way to class.

"kim mingyu, you're late." the teacher said as he walked into class, only to earn a "uh huh." from the boy before he joined his friends.

2:00 pm

mingyu had gotten dismissed from final class a few minutes early, so the boy decided to go wait outside of soojin's last class. while waiting, the boy went on his phone and went through his messages until he heard the bell ring, signaling that school had ended. mingyu put his phone away, glancing over at soojin's class door and seeing her come out laughing with her friends. mingyu smiled at the girl, meeting eyes with her which made her smile. soojin waved her friends goodbye, before walking over to mingyu.

"hi, beautiful." mingyu greeted the girl, kissing her forehead.

"hi, handsome." soojin smiled, grabbing the boy's hand, "i have to go to my locker and put away my textbooks."

mingyu nodded his head, walking with soojin to her locker. the boy waited next to soojin's locker as she put her books away and locked her locker back up. "i'm so happy i didn't get weekend homework." she told the elder, grabbing his hand again, "now i have a free weekend."

"well, since you have a free weekend, would you like to go on a date with me?" mingyu asked as the two walked out of the school building.

"as long as hyunsoo can come." soojin responded, "my parents don't come back from their business trip for another week."

"then it's a date, plus hyunsoo." mingyu laughed, making soojin laugh.

the two walked out to mingyu's car, where he drove the two back to soojin's house, waiting for hyunsoo to get home from school together.

2:30 pm

"soojinnie, i'm home!" hyunsoo called out, taking off his shoes and locking the front door, "i made a new friend on the bus!"

"wait, don't come into the kitchen." soojin told the younger, "i have a surprise for you, that you can't see yet."

"dinosaur chicken nuggies?" the boy asked, standing in the entrance.

"maybe." soojin responded, "but maybe not." the girl glanced over at mingyu, "perhaps i got your dinosaur chicken nuggets and something else."

"a new game?" hyunsoo questioned, thinking of what surprise his sister could have.

soojin pointed at the dining room for mingyu to go into. the boy nodded his head, bringing two plates of dinosaur chicken nuggets into there.

"not a new game." soojin dragged the guessing game on, walking into the dining room and bringing her own plate of dinosaur chicken nuggets, "come into the dining room and you'll see what the surprise is!"

hyunsoo furrowed his eyebrows, confused at this point. the boy then walked into the dining room, seeing mingyu, which lit up his face. "mingyu!" he practically squealed out, running over to the boy and giving him a hug, "i've missed you!"

"i've missed you too, hyun." mingyu smiled softly, hugging the boy back.

"we get to eat dino nuggies together!" hyunsoo said excitedly, pulling away from mingyu.

"uh, hello." soojin peered out, "your big sister is here too."

"i stole all of his love, he's all mine." mingyu teased the girl by picking hyunsoo up and holding him close, "all mine."

hyunsoo laughed at the two, "fight for me, fight for my love!"

soojin let out an offended gasp, pulling out her chair and sitting in it, "i don't need anyone's love, i have my dinosaur nuggets." the girl reached over, grabbing hyunsoo's plate, "and hyunsoo's dinosaur nuggets too, now."

"no!" hyunsoo jumped down from mingyu's arms, rushing over to soojin with a pouting face, "don't eat my nuggies!"

soojin looked at the younger, then towards his plate as she took a chicken nugget off of his plate and teased him by putting it near her mouth. hyunsoo watched the girl with a face of betrayal, which made her burst into laughter as she proceeded to feed the chicken nugget to him, "i'm not that mean, hyunnie."

mingyu smiled at the two, pulling out his and hyunsoo's chair, sitting in his own. hyunsoo walked over to mingyu, sitting in his chair and holding his hands out for soojin to hand his plate back. soojin passed hyunsoo his plate, as she then gave him a nod of acknowledgement, "so, you said you made a friend on the bus, huh? what's their name?"

"his name is jian, but he likes when i call him ji." hyunsoo responded, "he's really nice, and he told me he likes dogs!" hyunsoo then grabbed one of his nuggets, "so i told him he could come over anytime to play with fluffy."

"did you learn anything else about him?" mingyu asked the younger, who nodded his head.

"he moved here from china!" the boy responded, "and he's mixed with korean and chinese."

"anything else, hyunnie?" soojin questioned, wanting to know more about hyunsoo's friend.

"well, he told me he's the youngest in his family, so we have that in common." hyunsoo responded, pausing to think, "oh! and his birthday is the same month as mine!"

"is he older than you?" soojin asked, earning a nod from hyunsoo.

"i'm always the youngest within my friends." he pouted, "but ji is really nice, and he made me laugh lots! he's cute too!"

"cute you say?" mingyu turned his head, smirking at hyunsoo.

"h-huh?" the younger stuttered, "i-i didn't say cute! you were hearing things, mingyu."

hyunsoo sunk down in his seat, nervously taking a bite out of his chicken nugget as he glanced at soojin. the girl gave him a supportive smile, "jisung thinks minho is cute, it's okay to think jian is cute. boys can think boys are cute, hyunnie."

"but i don't like boys." the younger mumbled, "jian is just cute, that's all."

"and it's okay to feel that way." mingyu told the boy, "thinking boys are cute is perfectly okay."

"but people at school make it seem to be not okay." hyunsoo bowed his head, "and i don't like it."

soojin furrowed her eyebrows, glancing over at mingyu who gave her the same look, "what ten year old already knows how to be a little bitch?" the girl shook her head, disappointed at how parents still teach their children that lgbtq+ is something to be frowned upon, "it's okay to think boys are cute, and it's okay to have a crush on a boy, while being a boy. as long as you're happy, hyunsoo."

"don't be ashamed to feel something towards someone just because of someone else's opinions." mingyu added on, "its your life, and you're the main character, so make it the best life."

hyunsoo nodded his head, as he then let out a relieved sigh, "anyway, back to jian," he told the elders, which made them laugh, "what? there's more i need to tell!"

mingyu smiled at the younger, nodding his head, "continue about jian."

"okay, so, on the bus ride home he made me laugh about something and he told me the way i laughed was really cute." hyunsoo started to explain once again, "and then he told me, "actually, you're really cute in general." and it was so nice. he's so cute."

"jian must be really important, considering you've only had a few dino nuggets while mingyu and i are almost done." soojin teased the younger.

hyunsoo glanced down at his plate, his eyes widening in realization, "okay, no more jian talk for now!"

"but i have a question." mingyu spoke up, "did he just transfer today or has he been at your school for awhile?"

hyunsoo paused to eat a few more of his chicken nuggets, before continuing to talk again. "he's been at my school for awhile, and i've always wanted to be his friend but i didn't know how to approach him." he explained, "but today, my best friend wasn't here, so jian sat on the bus with me and became friends with me."

soojin smiled at hyunsoo talking about his new friend, as she found it to be cute. "hey, hyunnie," soojin called out, "mingyu and i want to go on a date this weekend, but i can't leave you home alone, so why not bring jian?"

"sure!" the younger smiled, "i got his mom's number because he doesn't have a phone—" he then paused at realization, "wait, neither do i."

soojin and mingyu started laughing at the younger boy's reaction when he realized. the girl shook her head, "you can use my phone."

"thank you, soojinnie." hyunsoo smiled sweetly, "wait, is mingyu staying over?"

"i didn't bring any change of clothes." mingyu responded, "but i could go home and grab some if someone would tell me they missed me and want me to stay."

soojin sighed out, "looks like mingyu isn't staying over then."

both of the boys pouted at soojin, which made her laugh as she got up from her chair. the girl walked over to mingyu, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing his cheek, "please stay, i've missed you lots."

"i don't know." the boy shrugged, "hyunsoo, should i stay?"

"stay for me." the younger boy responded, "not for soojin, but for me!"

mingyu nodded his head, "okay, i'll stay. but only for you, and you only."

"felix wouldn't treat me like this." soojin mumbled under her breath, "my platonic boyfriend loves me more, that's sad."

mingyu laughed at the girl, turning his head and kissing her cheek, "you already know i'm never leaving you."

the girl smiled softly at mingyu, nodding her head, "i know, and i'm happy you aren't." soojin then kissed mingyu's cheek once again, "thank you, mingyu."
