After class with Brennen, he takes my hand, and pulls me out.
"I can walk myself, Brennen." I say, and he ignores me.
He walks me to his car, and I stop.
"Can't I drive myself in my car? I don't want to walk all the way back to school to get my car again."
"Then we can go in you car."
"Why can't we drive separately?"
"Because, I know you don't want to go to Jake's house to talk right now. If I don't go with you, you won't show up." He says, and I sigh.
"Yes I will-"
"I'm going with you." He gets in the passengers seat of my car, and I get in.
----
We arrive at Jake's house, and everyone is already there. I get out of the car, and we walk in without knocking. I go straight to Jake's room, expecting everyone was already there. They were.
"Kaylee, sit." Jake says, and I roll my eyes.
"I'm not a dog." I say, and sit down.
"Okay, now explain." Corey says.
"I already told you guys. It was a fake fight. I don't know why we are here."
"Why did you start a fake fight?" Sam asks.
"Colby got into a fight with someone. I saw them, so I stepped in to stop the fight."
"And?" Brennen says, and scoots closer.
"I realized that it would be suspicious if I helped him in a fight. No one even thinks of us as friends, and I don't think we should be seen together. I realized that, so i acted like I was helping the other guy. Me and Colby started talking shit to each other so things weren't too obvious."
"And that's when he brought up Kian?" Corey asks, and I nod.
"See, he doesn't know when to stop. He went too far."
"Its all good guys. I don't care, cuz like I said. It was a fake fight."
"I saw in the look on your face. He made you upset. I mean, you slapped him, which I think was a good idea." Brennen says, and I giggle.
"Yeah, but he realized what he did. He didn't mean to make me upset."
"He should have thought about what he was saying before be said it." Sam says, and Jake nods.
"Colby is getting a talk from us." Jake says.
"You don't need to do that."
"Well he's on his way." Brennen says. I turn to him and glare. He quickly apologizes.
"Im sorry, but-"
"It's fine." I cut him off. I keep a straight face, and look at the floor. I hear a knock on the door. Making me freeze.
"Come in!" Jake yells, and he steps in.
Colby walks in, and he looks straight at me.
"Hi." He gives me a small smile.
"We need to talk to you." Sam says, and I shake my head.
"No you don't." I say, and Colby gives us a confused look.
"Talk about what?"
"You know your little fake fight you and Kaylee had?" Sam asks, and Colby nods.
"Well, you took it too far." Corey adds.
"I know, and I'm sorry, but-"
"Colby, don't apologize."
"I have to." He says. I stand up, and hold my hand out. He grabs it, and I walk him out. I close Jake's door.
"I'm sorry for bringing up Kian. I just didn't think before I said it. I know how much he meant to you, and I'm sorry. I expected to apologize on my own time but I couldn't." He says, and I smile.
"It's alright. The boys are overreacting."
COREYS POV-
We all lean up against the door, and listen in on their conversation.
"Yeah, you made me upset, and yeah you took it too far, but I did too. I slapped you."
"You had a good reason to." Colby says, and Kaylee sighs.
"No I didn't, Because I knew it was a fake fight."
"One that I took too far."
"Yeah, Colby knows he fucked up. But why is Kaylee so okay with what happened?" I say.
"Exactly. I don't know." Brennen says.
KAYLEES POV-
"Don't feel bad Colby."
"Are we good?"
"Yeah we're good." I say, and Colby comes in for a hug. I hug him back, and open the door. When I open it all the boys were leaning against the door. They all fall to the floor, and Colby shakes his head.
"Are you kidding me?" He says, but I'm smiling.
"Mind you own business for once." Colby says, and Jake apologizes.
"Guys, I think I'mma head home." I say, and all the boys say. "Nooo"
"Sorry, but I haven't been home much. I need to see my dad." I say, and the boys nod.
"Text me tonight." Colby says, and I nod.
"Text me too." Brennen says.
"And me." Sam cuts in.
"Just text the group chat." Corey says.
"Yeah, just do that." Jake says.
"Face time me separately." Colby says, and I nod.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow." I say, and walk down the steps. I put my shoes on, and walk out to my car. I drive off, and my phone rings. I pick it up, and it's a face time from Colby. I answer it, and put it on the stand thing on my windshield.
"Seriously guys?" I say, when I see them all looking at the phone.
"Are you guys tryna get me in a car accident or what?" I ask, and Colby says.
"Oh shit. She's on to us."
"Oh shut the fuck up." I laugh.
"We miss you already." Jake says. I smile, and shake my head.
"We're together too much." I say.
"True." Sam laughs.
"Really? I think we need to hangout more often." Corey says.
"Noooo! We're chaotic enough!" Brennen says, and he all laugh, and agree.
"Actually, I've had an idea." Colby says.
"What?"
"We should all go on vacation."
"Oh, wait. Since when does Colby have good ideas?" I joke, and the boys laugh.
"Yeah, yeah that was funny. Bitch." He jokes, and we all laugh.
"No for real. Let's do that." Jake says.
"When?" Corey asks.
"Let's take a few days off of school next week." I say, and they all agree.
"Let's leave after school Friday, and come back Wednesday?" I suggest.
"Let's do it. But where?" Brennen asks.
"Well, where do we all wanna go?"
"Somewhere we can afford." I say.
"Let's just go on a road trip." Jake says.
"Yah, that's all we can afford." Corey says.
"To where?" I ask.
"California!" Colby says.
"I've always wanted to go there." Jake says.
"Well, let's do it."
