"HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE EVE LOSERS!" Bucky and Thor yelled, running into the living room with New Year's hats on their heads. "LET'S PARTAYYYYYYY!"
Right at that moment, Tony came walking out of the kitchen. "Who the hell is making all this noise?" he groaned, pressing his fingers to his temples. "I swear to God..."
"It's the night before New Year's Eve," you answered for the two screeching superheroes. "These two people are high and they want a party. Simple as that."
"I know what today is, but was it really necessary for them to run in screeching at the top of their lungs?"
"Eh...no."
"But Tony," Bruce spoke up. "You're going to throw a party and invite a hundred million people, right? Like last year?"
"No," Tony shuddered, recalling the events of last year's celebration. "Too many annoying young models were attempting to crawl up my ass. I'm just inviting the whole gang and that's it. You remember, last year---"
"We don't want to hear about last year," you and Clint said in a dull tone at the same time. "I think we've been told that story enough times."
"Is Shuri coming?" Peter squeaked. "Shuri!"
"Yes, Pete, she's coming," he sighed. "They should be here any minute now. And the Guardians, and Strange, pretty much everyone. But don't go writing Vines in Sharpie all over the walls like you did last time she came over."
"It wasn't Sharpie," the boy protested, "it was Extra-Thick Sharpie---"
"Same difference. No drawing on the walls this time. Now Thor, Buck, you better shut up and put those props away or no party or cake for either of you."
"Darn. I look really attractive in this headband," Bucky whined.
"Yeah, it really brings out the color of your eyes," you said sarcastically.
"Thanks, Y/N," he said back in the same sarcastic tone. "But seriously, I look so good in that headband!"

The doorbell rang, and Peter immediately jumped up to his feet to get the door. "SHURI!"
"PETER!"
"I MISSED YOU!"
"I MISSED YOU MORE!"
"The vines still haven't fully come off the walls yet," he admitted sheepishly. "You can still see faint outlines of them."
"Extra-thick Sharpie is the best," she grinned. "Told you it would be hard to get off."
T'Challa smacked a palm to his forehead at this, no doubt questioning why he had a younger sister who liked drawing on the walls. Writing vines on the walls, out of all things.
"But Mr. Stark says no more drawing."
"Darn. We never got to put the croissant one down!"
"Because we used up the entire wall."
"Oh. Right."

The time to prepare for the party had came, and once again, you were with Natasha, Wanda, and Shuri to get ready. You let them pick out an outfit for you and surprisingly, didn't hate it. "You guys..." you gasped when Natasha held up a black, A-line minidress that wasn't too slutty yet stunning at the same time. "How did you manage to find something like this?"
"Well," Natasha grinned at her fashion taste, "I went out to the mall by myself four days ago, and then had Loki take it back to Asgard to modify it and make it look better, so here we have it. Hurry and put it on!"
You obeyed, quickly stripping down and pulling the dress on over your head. It was simple and shockingly well-fitting, accentuating all your curves and making your legs look much longer than they already were.
"Woah," you gaped at yourself in the mirror.
"Mhm. You know who's going to drop dead when they see you!" Natasha squealed, jumping up and down excitedly.
"Shut up," you said in between clenched teeth.
"Cap is going to go NUTS!" Wanda agreed, giggling uncontrollably.
"You two would look soooo cute together," Shuri cooed. "I remember during Christmas, when we all came over, he gave you his coat---"
"That was one time, Shuri," you rolled your eyes, rubbing your forehead. "People always give their jackets to other people. You guys are so immature sometimes. You make me wonder how I ended up getting stuck with two childish Avengers and an equally childish Wakandan princess as my best friends."
"You're lucky you have us," Natasha spoke up, "or else you'll never get together with him."
"Mhm, sure."
"I'm serious! He has the hots for you."
"He doesn't. Steve and I are just really close. Just because he hugged me for ten seconds and gave me his coat, doesn't mean---"
"Wow, wow, wow, pulling the 'Oh my, we're just friends' trick, huh? No. You're not. Everyone can see it, even Pietro. And you know how clueless he can be," Wanda shook her head as she got out all the makeup supplies. "You could kiss him when the clock strikes midnight and boom! Romance! New Year's kisses are like the best, next to mistletoe kisses."
"Look, guys," you looked up into the mirror at your reflections. "I've never had a mistletoe kiss, a Valentine's kiss, or a New Year's kiss, but I've had a Hershey's kiss and boy, was it wonderful. I'm sure that's enough."
"Kit Kats are better. Anyways, you are kissing him when it hits 12!" Shuri exclaimed, clapping her hands together.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes!"

One by one, the rest of the people arrived: Strange, Loki, the Guardians, even Nick Fury and agents Coulson and Hill showed up. How Tony had convinced them to come, you didn't know.
You were at the party venue next door to the compound, observing the people bustling around and getting drinks, sitting around, or bobbing their heads along to the music that Bucky and Pietro, the DJs, were playing.
There was a colorful, giant digital clock that counted down the hours until midnight and as of right now, it was somewhere around 11. You were bored of wandering around and had already talked to pretty much everyone in the room, so you decided to look around for Clint and Natasha because you didn't know what else to do.
"Hey, mind if I join you?" you asked, holding your simple glass of ginger ale (You hated alcohol). "Bucky ditched me because he's busy working the music."
"Sure," Natasha nodded, motioning to the empty seat beside her, and you slid into the booth. "How's it going for you so far?"
"Eh, it's alright," you shrugged, taking a sip of your drink, then setting it down on the table. "But you were wrong on your claim earlier, because he still hasn't talked to me yet."
"Ooh! Boy drama!" Clint leaned forward eagerly, clasping his hands together. "Spill!"
"Just you wait," she patted your head encouragingly. "Mark my words, you're kissing by midnight."
"Oh ho ho!" Clint chuckled. "So we got a midnight mission, huh? A resolution?"
"Exactly, Barton," Natasha grinned, "we're pushing her and Cap together so by the time the clock strikes twelve, they're madly in love. Well, they already are, but they refuse to admit it."
"I'm not in love---" you attempted to protest.
"You are," the archer cut off. "I mean, it is kind of obvious. I know, I know, you guys have known each other for a while so you're close, but that doesn't give you the excuse to pull out the 'Oh, we're just friends' card. Because you clearly want to be more than that."
"No," you shook your head.
"Yes. I see you blushing," he pointed out, which only made you feel more exposed and embarrassed than you already were. "Oh, and there he is. The Captain himself, in all his glory." Sure enough, Steve was making his way towards you, with Tony by his side.
Tony raised his eyebrows up and down cheekily, "They're going to start the countdown soon."
"Oh, really," you pulled your phone out of your purse to check it. Sure enough, it was 11:52, and people were slowly gathering on the dance floor, eagerly watching the colorful timer.
"You look bored," Steve chuckled, commenting on your exhausted appearance.
"Oh, I'm alright," you laughed, "Barton and Romanoff are just being annoying, and---"
"Hey, I'm not annoying!" Clint interrupted. "I am very funny, and a good advice-giver..." he nudged you in the side, winking at you. "And the same goes for Nat."
"All you do is tease me about how dry my love life is," you sighed. "Y/N needs to get with this guy...Y/N needs to kiss that guy...Y/N needs to marry that guy and then have fifteen baby Avenger children with him...does that sound like advice to you?"
"In my defense, you should get married!" he exclaimed, waving his arms around wildly. "I mean, you guys---" He was unable to finish his sentence as you had smacked your hand over his mouth.
"Shut it, or I'm getting Strange to come over here and teleport you to Antarctica," you threatened. "Maybe that'll teach you a lesson."
"Stop bickering and let's go," Tony rolled his eyes, beckoning for you all to follow him.
Steve took your hand and you didn't question it, and you swore you could hear Clint let out a girly giggle from behind you as he fangirled to Natasha about how you and him were his OTP.
"You have any New Year's resolutions?" you asked, trying to mask your nervousness at the fact that it was growing closer and closer to midnight. You did want to have that New Year's kiss, but you were too scared, scared that it would mess up and go wrong. Although all your friends thought otherwise.
"Uh...just one," he smiled softly.
"And what is that?"
"Can't tell you now," he teased, making you pout.
"Not fair!"
"Well, what's yours?"
"I only have one. Like you. But I'm not telling you either," you crossed your arms and gave him a fake glare.
"O-kay then," he raised an eyebrow in suspicion, deciding not to push it any further.
"TEN! NINE! EIGHT!" everyone began chanting, with Shuri and Peter on the stage, leading the chant. "SEVEN! SIX!"
"FIVE!"
Steve placed his hands on your shoulders and spun you around so that you had no choice but to look straight into his piercing blue eyes.
"FOUR!"
He brushed a lock of stray hair behind your ear and you swallowed hard, wondering if this was it. Was this it?
"THREE!"
"TWO!"
"ONE!"
Steve circled his strong arms around your waist and pulled you to him, pressing his lips against yours. You wasted no time in kissing him back, your arms wrapping around his neck as he kept his firmly planted on your sides, as everyone around you started clapping and cheering.
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Peter and Shuri yelled into the mic. "Congratulations to these new lovers!"
You pulled apart, both blushing and grinning like fools.
"See, I told you guys you'd be kissing by midnight!" Natasha pointed at you.
"Now get married and have little Avenger babies!" Clint added. "And name one of them Clint, because I really am that awesome---"
Natasha smacked him on the back of his head. "Shh," she hissed, watching Steve embrace you again. "Let them have their moment. Happy new year, idiot."
"Love you too, Nat," he rolled his eyes.
"Was that your resolution?" Steve asked, pulling back to observe you. "Because I think we had the same resolution in mind."
"Maybe, maybe not," you teased, poking his chest. "But hey, tonight was fun."
"It was," he agreed, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to your forehead. "I love you."
"You can say that again," you smiled.
"I love you, Y/N."
"I love you too,, Cap."
