A few weeks later. At Kelly's.
So, a few weeks have passed since Kelly's surgery and a lot of things happened. Renee went to Spain without Kelly and i don't know why he didn't go with her. Shay and Clarice are back together. Mills and Dawson are a thing now. And Pouch is the new face of the Firehouse 51. I still don't like Clarice after everything she did to Shay but i accept her. I got kicked out of my Lieutenant position because of Renee's brother Eric. He was transfered to the Firehouse 51 as a replacement for Kelly because he already was a Lieutenant. Well, no one was happy with that.
Clarice, Shay and i were in the kitchen and cooking while waiting for Kelly to come back home from the doctor.
I could hear the front door open and close.
Shay and i looked at each other as we heard footsteps coming closer.
Kelly walked into the kitchen with a sad look on his face.
Shay "Well?"
Kelly sighed.
My stomach dropped "Sevi"
He looked at me sadly but then he smirked "Fully duty starting next shift!"
Shay hugged him and he hugged her back.
Clarice "that's great"
He greeted her and then walked around to counter to me.
I hugged him "I'm so happy for you"
He hugged me back.
Me "but i got some bad news"
He looked at me worried "like what?"
Me "Eric Whaley's still there"
Kelly tensed but then shook his head "i got no beef with him"
I scoffed.
Kelly then rubbed Clarice's huge baby bell "how's the little one?"
She giggled "good"
I smiled at Kelly "wanna drive with me to work?"
He nodded "Sure"
At work.
Kelly and i walked inside and the whole Squad 3 table started to cheer.
Suddenly everyone walked to us, cheering.
Hartley hugged Kelly "hey, buddy"
Then Capp hugged him "Welcome back"
I smiled.
Kelly hugged Gaby "Dawson"
The Chief hugged Kelly "welcome back. About damn time"
Kelly smiled "thanks Chief"
Hermann "and the neck's 100 %, right?"
Kelly chuckled "Yeah, you wanna spar a few rounds after shift to find out?"
Hermann chuckled "No, i'm good"
Then i grabbed Pouch from Otis and gave him a kiss "hey, baby"
I looked at Kelly "Kelly, this is the new guy in my life. This is Pouch"
Otis "A.K.A the best damn thing to ever happen to this house"
Kelly crawled Pouch's head "So you're the one who stole her heart, hm?"
I giggled.
Mouch "Otis is transferring "
Otis rolled his eyes "what? come on. It's like im being rocketed into space. i'm going over to Morningside"
Chief "Kelly, your relief Lieutenant, Eric Whaley"
Kelly froze but then offered him his hand "It's been a while"
Eric eyed his hand but then shook it "yeah"
The Chief asked surprised "you two know each other?"
Kelly took a deep breath "Yeah, i was, uh, engaged to his sister"
Mouch nodded "ah, got it. The original Renee?"
Eric raised an eyebrow "There was a second one?"
I grimaced. Oh boy.
Chief "well, now that you're back Whaley will move over to engine and relieve Jeff Turner for the next to shifts. "
Eric nodded.
Chief called out "okay, everyone, listen up. Some of you may know Gabby's brother, Detective Antonio Dawson. He has some information from C.P.D. for us. "
Antonio "Thanks, Chief. Last few weeks, i've seen a spike in fatal overdoses. M.E.'s office has connected at least a dozen deaths to a toxic batch of Heroin. Now be aware, it's laced with Fentanyl and in most cases does not respond to the normal protocol of naloxone. We are now approaching each overdose as a potential homicide"
Suddenly the alarm went off "Truck 81, Squad 3, Engine 51, Ambulance 61. Structure Fire"
I looked at Kelly "Let's go"
He smiled.
We all got in the trucks and drove off.
At the house.
We pulled over and got out of the trucks. A bar was burning.
Chief "looks like the Fire's in the back, probably where the kitchen is. Severide, get inside, open up the windows and the exists. "
We nodded and we grabbed our masks.
Suddenly i heard Casey yell "Cruz"
I looked at the bar and saw Cruz breaking the door open and move inside.
Then i saw him smashing the windows in.
I rolled my eyes and put my mask on and Squad 3 walked into the bar.
We looked around.
Cruz yelled "There's somebody in here!"
Kelly nodded "all right, we'll find him!"
Kelly and i walked into the kitchen. Here was the actual fire. .
I yelled "Fire Department" is there anybody in here?"
suddenly the fire exploded and threw Kelly and me back.
I grimaced.
The Chief over the radio "Give me a progress report"
Kelly "Primary search of the kitchen negative!"
I stood up but suddenly the ceiling crashed down in front of us.
Hartley "there's someone over there!"
I looked in the direction and there was someone on the ground.
Kelly hooked the burning chair that was in the middle on the crowbar "hey, help me!"
Capp helped him and they moved it to the side.
I ran over to the guy that was unconsciously on the ground.
Me "We got you"
Kelly walked over to me and we grabbed him and carried him out of the bar.
Gabby and Shay rushed to us with the stretcher.
Shay "push him all the way up"
We put him on the stretcher and they rolled him to the ambulance.
I looked at the bar and saw that the guys have already killed the fire.
At the Firehouse.
I jumped out of the truck on sat down on Kelly's chair.
Kelly, Capp and Hartley walked over to me.
Capp nodded, impressed "you gotta give your seat up now that Severide is back"
I smirked at Kelly.
Kelly "not that i wanna throw you off my seat but-"
Me "but what, boss?"
He chuckled "you gonna get off?"
I shook my head "No"
Kelly "that's an order"
Hartley and Capp sat down on the chairs.
I raised an eyebrow "really, boss?"
Kelly rolled his eyes and sat down on my lap.
I laughed and tried to push him off of me "Get off of me. "
Kelly leaned back "I'm fine"
The other two guys on the table started to laugh.
Pouch ran to me and sat down next to the chair.
I whined "Sevi, you're heavy!"
Kelly "you gonna get off my chair?"
I nodded "yes, yes, yes, just get off of me, Jabba the hutt"
Capp chuckled and Kelly got off of me.
I moved over to my seat and sat down.
Kelly sat down on his seat.
I whistled "Pouchy"
He looked up.
I smiled at him and grabbed the tennis ball that was on the table and showed it to him.
His ears went up and his tail wiggled.
I chuckled and threw the ball and Pouch started to run after it.
