As soon as Hosea heard that you had gone missing, that you had been taken, you began his one and only focus. Dutch was concerned as well since you were like a daughter to him as well, so the whole gang was quick to act.
-----
"Dutch! Where is Y/N?" Hosea asked as he crossed the camp, a look of fear and rage on his face. You are that man's world and if something happened to you, he wouldn't know what to do with himself. It was a rare sight to see Hosea lose his cool but in this case, he had definitely lost it and it put the rest of the gang on edge.
"I think those Braithwaites got to her, we will head out to find her" Dutch told him as he walked over to him, everybody was beginning to gather around now to see what was going on.
"We go now, I'm not wasting a second sitting around here. We have got to get her back, Dutch" Hosea shook his head, grabbing his rifle and walking towards the horses. He was usually very sensible and level headed, he knew that rushing into things was dangerous but he just couldn't care about that. You are his daughter...he will get you back safe. The other members of the gang shared a few looks before following after him, sometimes it was easy to forget that Hosea could be as ruthless and as angry as any of them.
-----
Pretty much the whole gang went with Hosea and Dutch to the Braithwaite manor, killing most of them and burning the whole place down. Usually Hosea would have attempted to calm Dutch down but, to be honest, he couldn't bring himself to care about them right now. A part of him even wanted to watch the place burn to the ground, they had put your life in danger so it's the least that they deserved.
They went through all of that only to find out that they had given you to Angelo Bronte, in Saint Denis. Dutch saw the frustration drop over Hosea's face, he patted his friend's shoulder before they walked away and left the Braithwaite woman to mourn her family and land.
-----
So Hosea, Dutch, and Arthur went to Saint Denis and got a meeting with Angelo Bronte himself. He was an odd man, dangerous but strangely polite. They hoped that he would see things their way and hand you over, unharmed.
The three of them sat on the couch opposite the one that Bronte sat on, the three men barely fitting but enduring it.
"So, can my friend have his daughter?" Dutch asked as a drink was served to each of them.
"Of course, of course" Angelo nodded. "But...should I be out of pocket over a misunderstanding? Of course I know that you would not want that" he smiled slightly, gesturing towards Dutch.
"...no" Dutch shook his head, not liking where this was going.
"No, no, no, so, how about this? You perform a simple job for me...and you get your daughter back" Bronte promised, nodding at Hosea, who hesitantly nodded back. He just needed you back and he didn't want to anger the man that was holding you hostage.
"What is it?" Arthur asked with a sigh, why was nothing ever simple?
"A couple of people have taken to grave robbing in the cemetery" Bronte began to explain.
"That is a fine place for it, the best" Dutch nodded, glancing at the two men who sat with him before glancing back at Bronte. Hosea never said anything, he barely trusted his own voice at this point. This man had you, his daughter, and Dutch was making jokes.
"I love this guy, I love you" Bronte laughed, gesturing enthusiastically to Dutch before his face turned serious again and he got back to business. "See they've taken, not only to desecrating the dead but they've done so without paying a tribute to the living. Thing is, they see my men, of course, they run a mile. So maybe you both head off...and you Mr. Van der Linde...why, you tell me more about my manners" he suggested.
With that, Arthur and Hosea stood to leave the room. Just before they could leave, Bronte caught Hosea's attention. "I assure you, Mr Matthews, your daughter has not been harmed" Bronte promised them, as if that could ease the man's concerns.
"I appreciate that" Hosea nodded before turning back to Arthur and leaving the room with him. Hosea was always good with talking to people and getting his way but all he could focus on was you.
-----
Hosea and Arthur did as Bronte asked before returning, Arthur assuring the older man that everything was going to be alright. You where tough and smart, you would be fine. They were let in through the gate and Hosea smiled when he saw you and Dutch standing together.
"Well...you took your time" Dutch commented as you and he turned to the gate. You completely stopped listening to what Dutch or Arthur were saying, you were just glad to be going home.
"Dad!" you smiled widely as you ran over to him, instantly wrapping your arms around his waist. Hosea didn't even hesitate before wrapping his arms around your and holding you tightly against his chest, he wasn't letting you go again.
"I am so glad you are alright" Hosea sighed as he kissed the top of your head.
"I'm fine, let's just go home" you smiled as you pulled away from him, he smiled back at you and patted your shoulder before ushering you towards the horses.
The four of you mounted the horses, you mounted your father's horse, sitting behind him. The three horses rode away.
"Are you sure you're okay, Y/N?" Hosea asked and the other two men looked over at you, everyone had been so concerned about you. The whole camp had been worried. You were a beloved member of the gang, intelligent and kind, everyone liked you and everyone had missed you.
"I'm fine, Angelo said that you would come for me, anyway. I didn't doubt it for a second" you assured them with a smile. You knew that you could always rely on your family.
"I'm sorry that we took so long to get you" Hosea apologised to you, wishing that there was some way to get to you sooner.
"Don't be sorry, it's alright, really. It wasn't bad there. They gave me my own room with a real bed and Angelo gave me so many books to read. I wasn't bored for a second, but I did miss you" you told them, you didn't want them (especially your father) to feel bad about it.
"Did they...do anything to you?" you father asked and you knew what he meant, and it was a valid concern. You could feel Dutch and Arthur looking at you curiously and sadly.
"Oh no, nothing. Don't worry" you shook your head, telling the truth. They never did anything to harm you. "Angelo treated me well. Have you ever had spaghetti? It's Italian and it's really good" you chuckled, hoping to lighten the mood slightly.
You knew that everyone was worried and they had every right to be, you were kidnapped and then just given to an Italian man. You were terrified at first but once you realised that they weren't intending to harm you, that they knew your father and friends were coming to take you home, you stopped being scared. They treated you well and you were fine. You kind of didn't want to admit it but you had a pretty good time once your worries were put to rest.
"They really didn't harm you?" Dutch asked, surprised but definitely in a good way.
"Not at all. I was really scared at first, I had no idea what they wanted from me but they never even touched me. Actually, they got me all new clothes and fed me well. Angelo even taught me some Italian" you told the three men, assuring them that they had nothing to worry about.
"Mr Bronte has invited us to a garden party at the mayor's house. And us, just simple country boys" Dutch told the three of you with a small laugh. "He had asked Y/N to come as well" he informed you.
"I don't think that is such a good idea" Hosea shook his head, he didn't want you to have to see them again.
"Come on, dad, what's the worst that could happen? A fancy party would be fun, I've never been to anything like that before" your head perked up in interest. You knew that Bronte wouldn't harm you and a party at the mayor's house sounded interesting, very different to the life you lived.
"Fine...fine" Hosea nodded, knowing that you would get your way in the end.
-----
Once you got back to the camp, the four of you dismounted the horses and walked into the camp. Everyone came out to greet you and make sure you are alright. You assured them all that you were fine and eventually they all went their separate ways, starting a celebration for your return.
Once you were alone, Hosea walked over to you again. "I missed you, but I knew you should come and get me" you smiled as you hugged your father again, you knew that he was worried about you and just wanted to ease his concerns.
"Of course, I couldn't let anything happen to you" he nodded as he accepted your hug, he truly was just glad that you were okay.
"I love you, dad" you smiled up at him as you pulled away from the hug.
"I love you too, now go and enjoy your party" Hosea patted your shoulder before playfully pushing you away. You laughed and nodded before walking over to where Javier was playing the guitar.
You sat down beside Lenny as you listened to the music and shared pleasant conversation. Hosea watched from the side with a smile on his face, he hated the idea of anything bad happening to you and was so glad to have you back safe. Dutch walked over to Hosea and place a hand on his shoulder before telling him to relax, everything was alright now.
