A few weeks later a man come to visit the Pepper house. "Butch what do you want?"Mario asked when he opened the door. "Ah Mario, always thinking the worst." Butch said. "With you coming to visit, i know it is." Mario said glaring at the man. "Ah come on, Mario aint ya going to invite me in?" Butch asked with a smile. "Why?" Mario asked. "Well Miss Mooney would like to send her regards to your two new daughters. So would I." Butch said. Mario stood there taken back. In shock he opened the door. Alice stood by the girls. "Morning Mrs Pepper. How are you today?" Butch asked like he was a friend. "Mr Gilzean." Alice said watching him. "Aw ya don't have to be so formal. Miss Mooney sends her regards to you." Butch said. Alice nodded. Butch reached into his jacket. Alice stepped in front of the girls. Mario came and stood with her. "Trust me if I wanted to take the girls, I would. This is a social visit. Miss Mooney wanted you to have this. For the girls." Butch said handing them an envelope full of money. Both Mario and Alice stood there looking at the envelope like it was a snake.
"So do ya want it or not?" Butch asked with a smile. Mario took the money. "Tell Miss Mooney thank you." Alice said remembering her manners. "So can I see the girls now. Miss Mooney will ask if I have." Butch said looking from one to the other. Alice and Mario looked at each other. They moved aside. Butch moved in over the bassinets. "Aint they just adorable. What did ya call them?" Butch asked as he watched the sleeping babies. "Ivy and Harleen." Alice said. "Pretty names. Are they good girls?" Butch asked. "What do you mean?" Mario asked. He glared at Butch. Butch smiled. "You really do have the most devious mind Pepper." Butch said. "Do you blame me?" Mario asked. "I guess not. But I was asking about how they sleep, feed is there any problems with their health?" Butch asked. "Why do you want to know?" Mario asked. "Just wanting to know if ya need help with the medical and things. Means nothing to me." Butch said to Mario. They stood in silence for a time.
"So can I hold em?" Butch asked. "They are fine. No problems. Here is Harleen." Alice said handing the baby to the huge man who stood before her. Butch took the small little baby in his arms. He cuddled her. She even opened her eyes for a moment. Before she shit her nappy. "Oh I thinks she needs you." Butch said as he handed the baby back. "Thank you." Alice said taking the baby from him. "So now ya have seen them, what are ya waiting for. A cup of tea?" Mario asked Butch. Butch sighed as he stood there watching them. "I know Harleen aint yours Pepper. Don't forget I have my ear to the ground." Butch said. The look on Mario's face was the look of a man in shock. "She is mine. Alice and I had twins." Mario said. "Look we all know that is Nick Quinzel's girl. I don't want to beat around the bush or anything. So I will tell ya straight up. I know all about it Pepper. I know Sharon Quinzel rejected the baby. I know Mary Kyle paid ya to take the girl in. I also know she only gave you two thousand dollars." Butch said. Alice gasped, she held Harleen tight. Mario glared at Butch.
"So what if I say now I don't want the brat?" Mario asked. "No Mario she is mine!" Alice said in distress. "I think ya wife would leave ya. Such a beautiful woman. I am sure she could find another to warm her bed. Look out for the two beautiful girls. Hell I even would." Butch said with a laugh. Mario punched Butch. As he came pack up with his fist clenched. The front door burst open. "Oh Hello Uncle Butch. Are you here to see the new babies too?" Jade said with a huge smile for him. "Uncle Butch?" Mario asked in shock. "Hello Jade, what are you doing here?" Butch said to her. "Hello who are you?" Taylor asked. "Butch Gilzean. You?" He asked. Taylor Pike." She replied. Butch nodded and smiled. "I live with the Pike's now. So dose Selina. Bridget found us on the street. We had run away from the orphanage. I think Daddy is in Prison. Mummy the bitch ditched us." Jade prattled on to Butch. "OK so you and Selina live upstairs with the Pikes?" Butch asked. "Yeah it is alright. Joe is real cool. You know him don't ya Uncle Butch?" Jade asked. "No." Butch replied. "Yeah ya do, he was there with Barry. All the time. Did you know he had other brothers? He had Taylor and Bridget too." Jade continued to steal the attention. "Well ya got quite a family with you." Butch said watching her. "Did ya meet the babies. That one is Ivy, she has red hair. This one is Harleen, she has blond hair. Aint they cute?" Jade said standing on tip toe to look at Harleen in her bed. "Did you know Jade's Mother was about to have a baby too Mr Gilzean?" Alice asked watching Jade with Harleen. "Ah yes, I did." Butch said watching for signals. Had they told the girl, were they going to?
"Hello Harleen, god to see ya today. Sorry I didn't come yesterday. We got into a fight with Evan. We all were confined to our bedrooms. I don't mind. I drew some more pictures of you and Ivy. I pretend that you are my real sisters." Jade whispered to the baby. She smiled at Harleen. Alice had to turn away. Butch narrowed his eyes, he looked from Alice to Mario, then to the babies with Jade. "Come on Uncle Butch you can come and see my new house now." Jade said taking the man's hand. "I think I would like that Jade. Thank you for your time Mrs Pepper. Mario. If you need anything with the girls let me know." Butch said with a smile at them. "Thank you Mr Gilzean." Alice got out before having to walk away. As per usual as Jade left the apartment Harleen started to cry.
"Have you seen my Daddy Uncle Butch?" Jade asked as she walked him up the stairs. "No." Butch said. No need to burden the girl. "Don't tell anyone, but, I don't like Mr P much." Jade whispered to Butch. "Really? Why?" Butch asked. "He can be real mean." Jade said. "Here we are." Taylor said opening the door. "Hi Mum we have a visitor." Taylor called as she entered the apartment. "Yes love who is .... Ah Mr Gilzean. Mr Pike is not home at the moment." Carol said wipeing her hands on her apron. "He didn't come to see Mr Pike today. He came to see me." Jade said with a smile. "Ya see he is me God Parent. Don't know exactly what that means but he is it. Can I show him our room?" Jade asked with wide eyed innocence. "Ah, yes of course. Down the hall Mr Gilzean." Carol said as if she was entertaining the king. Butch smiled and went to the room to look it over with Jade. "This is my bed. Sena sleeps up there. Over there is Bridget, on top is Taylor. Cool huh?" Jade asked with Pride. "Very cool." Butch said feeling very uncomfortable now. "See I draw lots of pictures. Look her is one of me with Baby Harleen. Not my Harleen, but one I bet just as cute." Jade said laughing. ""Wow you draw real good Jade. Can I have this one?" Butch asked. "If ya want. I can always draw more. DO ya think Mum ditched the new baby too?" Jade asked. "I don't know Jade." Butch said. "Do you have a wife?" Jade asked. "No I aint married." Butch said. "Ya know I wish ya were. I could have come and lived with you and your wife." Jade said. "You really don't like it here?" Butch asked. "I like it well enough. I just don't like Mr Pike." Jade said with a sigh. "Well Ya have seen where we sleep, did ya want to see where we play?" Taylor said coming into the room.
Butch was given a tour of the house and it's occupants. Jade was talking so much. Butch was thinking he made a mistake coming here. Fish had warned him against coming. "Sena, Sena, come see. Uncle Butch is here." Jade said bouncing up and down. "Hello little Cat." Butch said to her. She had secretly told him she wanted to be called Cat one day. She loved cats so much. She also could see in the dark real good. She once told this to Uncle Butch. "Ya remembered." Selina said to him. He nodded. He checked out the children, both were still smiling. They were together. That was a good thing too. He had picked up that they had not told Jade about Harleen. He wanted to. But they were not under his charge. At least they will get to grow up together he thought. "Well it has been nice seeing you girls. You take care of each other." Butch said. "We will bye Uncle Butch." Jade said with a giggle she and Selina left the room. "Thank you for having me Carol. If ya need anything for the girls, let me know." He said going to leave. "Thank you Mr Gilzean." Carol said as he left. "Well Jade and Selina are a strange pair are they not. Knowing Butch Gilzean like that." Carol said to Taylor. "Yeah Mum they are. But if ya need help with money for em. We now know where to go." Taylor said with a smile. "Yes love, we will." Carol said going back to making the dinner.
Once outside the apartment building Butch had a couple of visitors. "What are you really doing hanging around the girls?" Mario demanded. "I don't know what you mean. I simply come to give you the money for Harleen." Butch said. "Mary paid me." Mario said. "I know she gave you two thousand dollars, yes?" Butch asked. "Yes." Mario said. "She pocketed three thousand dollars. That is what I have just given you the other three." Butch said. "Why?" Mario asked. "Like I said I am the kids godparent." Butch said. "That don't mean shit and you know it." Mario said. "I know. But I made a man a promise I will never forget." Butch said. "Nick Quinzel?" Mario asked. Butch nodded. By now he was getting jack of this. He was about to walk away when Joseph Pike grabbed his shirt collar. "Keep the fuck away from my kids. Do I make myself clear?" He said. Butch pushed Pike off of him. "First she aint yours and never will be. She don't like ya. Ya own kids don't like ya. Second she is my goddaughter. I will come and check on her whenever I want." Butch said. "No ya wont. The day she come into my house and told me her name. I knew she was going to be mine. I knew he would hate her living with me. So I think ya better tell him." Pike said.
Butch stood there looking at the two men. "Do you know who I am?" He asked them. "You are Butch Gilzean. You are Fish Mooney's number one man. Does she know what ya are up to?" Pike asked. "Yes." Butch said. " Well if ya come here again. I guess we will find out huh?" Pike said. "Yeah same here with Harleen." Mario said. "Oh and if ya ever feel the need to tell Jade about Harleen. I would not. Fish or no Fish I will come for ya." Pike said with a laugh. Butch stood narrowing his eyes. Fish was a wise woman. She knew what they would do. She had warned him against the visit. But you know Butch, he had to. "Fine gentlemen, I will leave the girls to your care. But If I hear ya hurt them, It will not be me that is back. It will be Fish Mooney herself." Butch said as he turned to walk away. "Say hello to Quinzel for me won't ya." Pike said laughing. The laughter echoing through the street. Butch had to control himself, he went for his gun. But stopped, as he seen Jade and Selena leaving the building laughing. They waved. Pike watched him leaving with glee. "You'll keep, ya son of a bitch." Butch muttered to himself as he drove away.
The very next day Butch was at Black Gate Prison. He was visiting Nick Quinzel. "How goes it man?" Nick asked. "I found them. They were dropped at the orphanage. From what Jade said, she was to be adopted out. But Selina was not in the deal. So Selina took Jade and run." Butch said. "Good they stayed together. Good. Where are they now?" Nick asked. "They are safe in an apartment near Harleen. Look Jade drew a picture of her and Harleen." Butch said giving it to him. "She is with Harleen?" Nick asked delight in his voice. "No. But they are neighbors. Jade it seems comes to see Harleen every day. She told me she likes to think about the baby as her sister." Butch said. "So where are they?" Nick asked. "Well Harleen is with Mario. His wife had a baby the same day. Pure luck that she ended up with them." Butch said. "Mario Pepper, the big guy with black beard?" Nick asked. "Yeah that's him." Butch said. "She should be safe there. He is a mean bastard though." Nick said. "I think she will fit in well. Alice is a nice woman." Butch said. "So what about my Muffin? Where is she?" Nick asked with a pleading look. "Ah Jade and Selina they are together." Butch said. "YA told me that." Nick said. "Oh sorry." Butch said. "Tell me Butch where are they?" Nick asked. Butch sat in silence for a moment. "With the Pike family." Butch said. "The Bloody Pikes! Let me out! Get them away from him now. Butch help!" Nick yelled. Butch sat the guard was approaching Nick. "Times up." The guard said taking nick away screaming about Bloody Pike's.
That same night in the Pike house. Mr Pike sat in his chair in the lounge. "Jade, Selina come here." He called to them. "Yes?" Jade said standing in front of him. What had her and Selina done wrong now she thought. "Do ya like living here?" He asked them. "Yes." They both replied. "Good well if I see ya talking to that Butch Gilzean again. Ya will have to deal with me. Do I make myself clear?" He said to them. "Yes." They both said. "Alright then get." He said to them. The girls run off giggling together. They had forgotten about Butch. They were giggling because they had just seen Evan Pike get his bottom kicked. By the other street kids. "Now that is funny!" Jade said with a giggle again.................................................................
