Y/N's POV
I made my way into another clearing. My eyes widened as I saw Ochaco-chan pinning a girl to the ground. Toga.
"Ohh~ Y/N!~" exclaimed Toga. I grit my teeth. My eyes widened as she inserted a needle in Ochaco-chan's leg. She then broke free from Ochaco-chan and jumped to the side. "There are more people now and I don't want to be killed, so bye-bye." she said in a bored yet slightly dejected tone. I ran towards Ochaco-chan.
"Are you alright?!" I asked. She nodded her head.
"Who was that woman just now?" asked Sho-chan.
"A villain. A crazy one." answered Tsu-chan. I shook my head.
"More than crazy..." I muttered. "She belongs in a mental asylum..." Everyone looked at me with wide eyes.
"Ochaco, you're injured!" exclaimed Izu-kun.
"It's fine. I can still totally walk." she said. Toga got Ochaco-chan's blood... we'll need to be more wary...
"We need to get going. After all, we need to get Bakugou out of he-" I turned around, only to realize something. "Guys...? Where did Bakugou go?" The boys turned around and a feeling of dread settled in.
"Well fuck..." muttered Sho-chan.
"The boy you're talking about... I took him with my magic." stated a voice from a nearby tree. "This talent isn't someone who should be on the hero side." he said while playing with a blue marble in his hand. "We'll take him to a stage where he can shine more."
"Give him back!" yelled Izu-kun.
"'Give him back?'" questioned the villain. "That's a strange thing to say. Bakugou doesn't belong to anyone. He's his own person, you egoist."
"Give him back!" yelled Izu-kun a second time.
"Move!" yelled Sho-chan as he created a glacier. The man jumped over to a different tree.
"We simply want to show him that the path he's on right now with its fanatical values is not the only path he can take." called the villain from above. "Kids these days are made to choose their paths based on their values."
"It's not just Bakugou!" exclaimed Shoji. "Tokoyami isn't here either!"
"He snatched the two in the back noiselessly?! What kind of quirk does he have?!" questioned Sho-chan. "If you think you can spend time simply talking with us, then you're seriously underestimating us." growled Sho-chan.
"He's right, Mr. Compress, you really shouldn't be underestimating us." I said, stepping forward.
"Oh? Y/N? You're here too? If I had known, I would have taken you as well. Too bad you were in the front, otherwise I would've been able to see you. After all, shouldn't the people who need to be protected be in the middle?" he asked, his expression hidden beneath his mask.
"Mr. Compress. Quirk: Compress. He is able to compress anything into a small marble without actually damaging it." I announced.
"You always like to ruin the fun." he said with an annoyed tone. "I was once an entertainer you know. Taking Tokoyami was an improvisation on my part." He said, revealing a second blue marble.
"You bastard! Don't take them!" yelled Izu-kun.
"Midoriya! Calm down!" exclaimed Shoji.
"Uraraka, take this guy!" yelled Sho-chan as he handed the unconscious person hanging around his shoulders to Ochaco-chan before rushing forward.
"What do you think you're doing?!" I screamed after him. I watched as he created a giant glacier of ice. I stepped forwards as well in an attempt to bombard Mr. Compress with petals. Sho-chan's right side was nearly frozen over after doing such a large scale attack.
"Sorry, tricks and running away are my only redeeming features!" yelled Mr. Compress. He had somehow managed to dodge both of our attacks. I grit my teeth as yet another wave of pain washed over my head. "There's no way I'd fight students who are hero candidates." Mr. Compress said something into an earpiece then began running away.
"No!" yelled Izu-kun.
"I won't let you get away!" growled Sho-chan.
"Get back here, you coward!" I screamed as we all chased after the fleeing villain.
"What makes you think you'll be able to catch up?" he asked. I created a knife and stuck in one of his legs. He groaned in pain. "You're much more annoying than you were before." he growled. "I saw what you did with Moonfish. You're already close to your limit, aren't you?" he asked. My eyes widened, but I continued to run forward. I wasn't about to let him throw me off. I sent another knife in his other leg. At least he was beginning to slow down a little.
"Damn it, that masked guy is fast." growled Sho-chan.
"If only Iida were here..." muttered Ochaco-chan.
"We can't... give up..." mumbled Izu-kun. "We have to catch up... and get them back!"
"But at this rate, he's just getting further away!" exclaimed Shoji.
"Guys..." I muttered. "Like he said, I'm actually getting closer to my limit... but I'm going to create a platform. I want you guys to get on it so I can send you to him, alright..?" I asked through heavy breaths. I was still losing lots of blood from my previous encounter with Moonfish. I quickly began forming a platform ahead of us as we ran, once it was complete, I used more petals to guide Sho-chan, Izu-kun, and Shoji onto it. "I'll teleport once you get there!" I yelled as I propelled them forward. They went flying forward. Shoji loosened his grip on the platform causing all three of them to launch at Mr. Compress like a human bullet. They collided with him and fell to the ground. I teleported to the group and took a defensive stance. I looked around to notice Twice, Toga, and Dabi. My heart stopped for a second when I saw him.
"Hm? Y/N? It's been a while, hasn't it?" he asked, a devilish smirk appeared on his face.
"I knew you'd be here, but I was really hoping we wouldn't actually meet up..." I said, staring into his blue eyes.
"Such as shame..." he muttered as he ran towards me. I stepped to the side and attempted to land a kick on him, but his body exploded into blue flames for a second, causing me to step away. "Oh? You're still afraid?" he asked, grinning at me. I had to avoid using my quirk at this point. If I were to use it any more, I might pass out. "I saw your fight with Endeavor, why aren't you doing the same thing to me?" he asked. "Oh wait... don't tell me you've already overdone it?" A maniacal laugh escaped his lips. He charged at me, but I was too slow to react and he held me against a tree by the neck. My legs dangled beneath me.
"Y/N!" I heard Sho-chan yell.
"It's fine!" I called back. Dabi's grip on my throat tightened a little.
"Is it really?" he asked, smirking. I kicked him in the stomach, causing him to stumble backwards. He put on an annoyed expression. "You're pretty dumb, you know that? You should've just stayed with your teachers. After all, you're one of our targets." he said.
"I don't care whether I'm a target or not." I growled. "You have my friends and the only thing that matters right now is getting them back!" I lunged at him. He stepped to the side, but I twisted my body to kick him in the face. He fell to the ground, but sent a barrage of flames at me. A wall of ice blocked them. I looked to my side to see a panicked Sho-chan staring at me. I returned my focus to Dabi. "Give them back, and you'll be able to leave unscathed." I seethed.
"We'll be leaving unscathed no matter what." he said as he lunged at me a second time. I dodged and landed a blow at the back of his knees, forcing him to the ground. He turned and sent another barrage of fire at me, but I dodged. I was getting more and more worn as this battle ran on. To my left and right, my classmates were defending against Twice and Toga while trying to retrieve Tokoyami and Bakugou. Sho-chan spent his energy targeting Twice while Izu-kun and Shoji took care of Toga. At some point, Shoji managed to get two marbles from Mr. Compress.
"Y/N! We need to retreat! Shoji has them!" yelled Izu-kun. I shook my head. That's too simple. My eyes widened when they ran into a Nomu. They turned and went in another direction, only to run into Kurogiri. Toga disappeared into one of his portals. Twice leapt into one as well.
"Wait- We haven't completed our goal yet." muttered Dabi.
"Oh, that?" asked Mr. Compress. "They seemed so happy that they rushed out here, so I thought I'd give them a present." Everyone turned to face the masked villain. "It's a habit, one of the basics of magic." That means... "When I flaunt something, it's because there is something I don't want you to see." he said, removing his mask. My eyes went wide as I realized what he had done.
"You still have them!" I screamed. He chuckled before opening his mouth to reveal two orbs resting on his tongue. The marbles in Shoji's hands turned into ice shards with the snap of Mr. Compress' fingers. The three boys began charging at him, me included.
"If you discover that what was in my right hand was in my right pocket, then of course you'd rush happily over." said Mr. Compress, amusement in his voice. He slowly stepped backwards into a portal. Just before he stepped in, I sent a barrage of petals at his face, knocking both blue marbles out of his mouth. I broke into a full sprint, reaching for the marbles. I managed to grab one with my left hand, but just as I was about to reach for the other with my right, Dabi snatched it. He grinned at me as I fell to the ground. I tossed the one marble I managed to grab to Shoji as I dived for Dabi. Mr. Compress released both Tokoyami and Bakugou from their marbles. My eyes widened as Dabi stepped backwards into the portal with a hand wrapped around Bakugou's neck.
"Bakugou!" I screamed as he disappeared along with the portal. I fell to my knees, shaking.
"Y/N!" Sho-chan ran to my side as tears fell from my face.
"I failed..." I muttered. "I couldn't save him..." In a flash, the villains were gone and Bakugou was taken. My vision began to falter as the adrenaline I was running on slowly left my system. I could no longer stand, just weep on the ground at how I failed to protect my classmate. I looked up to see the blue flames which enclosed us. Izu-kun let out a devastated yell from behind me while I sat on the ground in my own puddle of tears. Sho-chan held me close in an attempt to comfort me, but nothing could help.
"You didn't fail..." whispered Sho-chan. He sounded incredibly tired.
"I couldn't protect everyone..." I mumbled. "I couldn't do it..."
