Bill Williamson X Younger Female Reader

Summary: Bill comes to terms with his feelings for a younger woman and accepts that she feels the same way.

Word Count: 2530

Bill Williamson had always been a little bit of a mystery to you. He wasn't exactly the most friendly person you have ever met but you had nothing against you, he had never done anything to make you dislike him. He had never been anything but nice and respectful to you, actually you had noticed that he was even a littler softer towards you than anyone else in camp.

You weren't really sure why but you happened to like Bill, even had a little crush on him despite the fact that he was significantly older than you.

And despite Bill being a drunk, you enjoyed talking to him. Actually, he spoke more when he had been drinking. If it wasn't for alcohol he probably wouldn't have talked to you the first time at all.

-----

You had been sitting by the campfire when a drunken Bill Williamson sat down beside you, but you pretty sure it was more falling than sitting. You just smiled politely, you were pretty knew to the gang at this point and hadn't spoken to Bill before. "So, uh, where are you...I mean, what were you doing before this?" Bill asked you randomly.

You couldn't help but look at him with slightly widened eyes as he nursed the beer bottle in his hand. You didn't know Bill but you never really took him as the nervous type, perhaps it was the alcohol messing with his head. "Oh...nothing, I guess. Robbing mostly" you shrugged as you returned your gaze to the fire in front of you, not sure why Bill was interested in speaking to you at all.

"You're young, pretty, nice...why are you here with us anyway?" he asked, his voice slurred slightly and he was swaying gently as he looked at you.

"Nicer camp than anything I could put together" you laughed softly, shaking your head at yourself. "It's better here that ending up stuck in some saloon" you shrugged. You were here for the same reason everyone else was here, you had nowhere else to go. Bill just nodded and said nothing, you guessed that was the end of the conversation so you just sat there for a while.

-----

You didn't really speak to Bill again after that, just polite smiles and nods as you passed him. It didn't bother you, you didn't know the man, you were just happy that you got a polite nod or smile from him every now and again because it meant that you hadn't done anything wrong. You hadn't spoken to him until one quiet night in camp. Everyone seemed tired and had already retired to their tents or were lazily sitting around the campfire or one of the tables.

Bill was sitting at a table in a quiet part of the camp, pretty out of the way. You were just walking past him when you heard him speak. "Ah, Miss...Y/N, right? Won't you come here and sit down" Bill asked, looking over at you from his seat at the table.

You were surprised and confused to why he would want you to sit with him. "Y-Yeah, it's Y/N" you nodded as you walked over to the table.

"Come on, relax. I'm just being friendly, come sit" Bill encouraged as he noticed your nervous response, you nodded again as you sat down at the round table on the seat beside him. "You wanna have a drink?" he asked as he turned his body to face you.

"Well, sure but I don't see any drinks around here" you chuckled, looking around to see that the only drink nearby was the one in Bill's hand.

"Ah, shit, you're right" Bill chuckled along, glancing around with a thoughtful expression before turning back to you. "Here" he offered as he held his bottle out to you.

"Oh, that's kind of you but it's okay, really" you smiled, shaking your head at him. You wondered why he was offering you the drink anyway.

"Really, it's fine. Take it" Bill encouraged you again as he held the drink out closer to you.

"No, it's yours. I'll just go and get my own" you smiled as you went to stood up.

You eyes widened slightly as you looked back at Bill, the man who had just grabbed your wrist and pulled you back down onto your seat. "I'll get it" he mumbled slightly before standing up and walking away. You just watched him walk away to fetch you a drink with a confused expression on your face.

You waited, a little awkwardly, at the table for Bill to return. When Bill did walk back over to the table, he placed a bottle of beer down on the table in front of you before sitting back down where he was previously sitting. You gave him a polite smile and thanked him for the drink before taking a sip from the bottle, feeling Bill's eyes on you but you didn't mention it.

"How has the camp been treating you?" Bill asked, looking at you and you were a little taken back by how intently he seemed to be listening to you despite you not having spoke yet and him being rather drunk already.

"Real nice, thank you, Mr Williamson" you smiled politely, having another sip from your drink.

"Ain't got nothing to thank me for, should be thanking Dutch I guess. And you can call me Bill, just Bill" he insisted, shaking his head at you. Bill had noticed you around camp, he's a little ashamed to admit that he noticed you the moment you got to camp. Now, it would be nothing to be ashamed of, noticing a new pretty woman in camp. What kept bugging him was that you were quite a bit younger than him, he already knew that you would never even look twice at him but that didn't stop him from being friendly.

"I hope you don't mind me saying but I've been thinking recently, Bill Williamson sounds a little...odd. Not in a bad way, of course. I just mean isn't Bill short for William? Like...William Williamson?" you laughed softly to yourself, hoping that you didn't offend him. Fortunately, he laughed too before having another drink.

"No, my name ain't William. Bill comes from Williamson" he explained, not seeing any harm in being honest with you. You would probably just find out from someone else anyway.

"What's your real name then? You don't have to tell me or anything, I was just wondering" you assured him, looking down at your beer bottle.

"It's Marion" Bill sighed, obviously waiting for your response.

"Marion" you hummed and nodded, just testing the name for a moment. You definitely wouldn't have guessed that.

"Yeah, you can see why I changed it, right?" he asked, chuckling slightly without looking at you.

"I don't know, it ain't that bad. Bill suits you more though" you shrugged, looking at him with a genuine smile. Bill just looked at you and smiled slightly, nodding as he took a sip form his drink. That night you and Bill talked some more, nothing very serious. Just about what you both did before meeting Dutch, since he seemed so curious about your story and you were happy to know a little more about him.

You made him smile quite a few times which in turn made you smile, and he made you laugh a lot which made his chest fill with pride. He told you stories about the gang, the adventures that they had before you joined and the stupid things they got up too or just embarrassing stories about other members of the gang. It was a fun evening until you got tired and decided you needed to get some sleep. Bill nodded and watched you leave before you disappeared into his tent. He glanced down at the bottle in his hand and realised that he had barely drank anything since you started talking, you were a welcome distraction from his drinking habit. He just shrugged before finishing the bottle and turning in for the night.

-----

Bill thought that it was a silly crush, like the ones he used to get when he was younger. You were an attractive woman with a kind smile, bright eyes, and an addictive laugh. You are as smart and witty as you are beautiful. It would be a fool not to have a thing for you. Bill only realised that his feelings for you were much deeper than a silly crush one night when you literally picked him up out of the dirt.

He had gotten drunk, not shock there, and had fallen straight off of his seat and hit the ground with a thud. Two members of the camp just chuckled to themselves and walked away while nobody else even seemed to notice. But you noticed and you couldn't help but frown.

You walked over to the man on the ground and smiled down at him. Bill slurred something and waved you away but you just laughed. "Come on, let's get you to bed" you laughed softly as you knelt down and helped him sit up.

You wrapped his arm around your shoulders before standing up with him, you huffed slightly as he rested some of his weight on you but didn't complain. You guided him over to his bedroll before trying to lower him down onto it but it was more like he fell down. Well...he couldn't say that you didn't try. "Sleep it off, Bill. Good night" you laughed softly as you bent down and kissed his forehead before walking away.

Bill watched you for a moment before falling back onto his bedroll. "Oh...shit" he muttered as he realised that he was probably in love with you.

-----

You and Bill had been spending more time together, people noticed but didn't really think too much of it. You were rather new to the camp and seemed to enjoy Bill's drunken stories, you were happy so they didn't care. They had also noticed that Bill had been falling on his ass drunk less since you both started spending so much time together.

You were driving Bill insane, not on purpose of course. You were completely unaware of how you were effecting the man. Every time you did something as simple as touching his arm or shoulder, kissing his cheek, laughing at his story or joke, every time you called him 'Marion' with a playful tone. It made him fall for you a little more. The most annoying part was that he didn't understand why you wanted to spend all of your time with him.

"Hey? Bill? Were you listening. Bloody hell, where did you go?" you asked, laughing to yourself as you pulled Bill from his thoughts. You had just noticed that he was staring into the fire and not listening to a word you were saying, which was very unlike him. You were both sitting at the fire in camp, just the two of you. It was dark and everyone was getting on with their own things, most of them retired for the night already.

"Ah, sorry. Just thinking" Bill apologised but your smile only grew when you saw his cheeks turn a light shade of pink.

"What were you thinking about? Looks like it got you a little flustered" you teased him, nudging his arm with your elbow.

"You don't wanna know, trust me" he told you, something about the way he said it seemed so sad as he continued to stare into the fire.

"If I didn't want to know I wouldn't have asked" you pointed out, turning to face him with a sincere smile on your face.

"You'll laugh at me" Bill shook his head, looking away from you a little more.

"I won't, I promise" you smiled as you reached over, gently touching his chin with your fingers and turning his head to look at you. Bill looked at you and sighed, how could he say no to that face. You looked so concerned for him and if he wasn't mistaken there was a lot of affection in your gaze.

"Why do you waste your time with me?" he asked with a defeated sigh, making you look at him in confusion.

"I don't waste my time with you...I like spending time with you. You make me laugh, and even when you don't talk much I like spending time with you. I just like you, so I talk to you" you shrugged, it was a simple answer.

"Wouldn't you prefer to being spending time with someone...well, someone more your age. Like Sean or Lenny?" he asked, trying to play it off like he didn't care but you saw past that.

"...oh" you whispered when you realised what had been upsetting him. Did he like you like that? "No...I wouldn't prefer spending time with them. I like you, ain't nothing wrong with that" you shrugged, hoping to reassure him a little bit.

"Nah, you don't. Not the way I mean" Bill shook his head. You were pretty sure that he was trying to say that he had feelings for you but you knew that he wouldn't just say it and he wouldn't make any move because he thought that you could never feel the same way, so you took matters into your own hands.

"Bill..." you hummed as you reached your hand up again, resting it against his cheek. You felt him tense under your palm before subconsciously relaxing into your touch. He sighed as his eyes closed. You smiled to yourself before leaning towards him and gently pressing your lips against his.

Bill froze, not sure about what to do. You were kissing him, actually kissing him. You were about to pull away and Bill knew that he had to act before it was too late. He reached up with one hand and tangled his fingers in your hair, pulling your head back towards him as he kissed you back.

You heard his empty beer bottle fall to the floor before his other hand came to rest on your waist. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he swiftly lifted you up and pulled you towards him. Both of you had completely forgotten that you were sitting in the middle of the camp, luckily it was a quiet night.

Bill sat with his legs parted, you sitting on his thigh comfortably with your arms wrapped would his neck as he kissed you. One of his hands on your hip and his other on the back of your head, his fingers tangled in your hair.

"As happy as we are that you two finally got together, you're making us feel a like sick here" Javier commented as he sat down at the fire opposite you both. You both pulled away from the kiss and your face turned a bright shade of red as you both looked over at Javier.

Bill just rolled his eyes and gave your hip a reassuring squeeze as he let his other hand fall from your hair and land on the space beside him on the log that he was sitting on. Javier just laughed and you couldn't help but start laughing along, while Bill just smiled slightly at you.
