it neared ten at night and the full moon was up and shining. as for dayoung, she left the living room to go to the kitchen since her stomach was growling. only a couple of the other members were up too, such as mark and yuta, but yuta had just left for his room.
dayoung opened the cabinet where the dishes resided and pulled out a white ceramic bowl from the bottom shelf, shutting the door right after. she got a box of cereal and poured it into the bowl before grabbing milk from the fridge. she set the gallon on top of the counter and turned around to grab a spoon, only to let out a scream.
meanwhile, in the parlor, mark sat on the sofa, jumping when he heard dayoung. he immediately got up and rushed towards the kitchen, worry filling his veins.
"what happened?!" he exclaimed.
"there'S A SPIDER, MARK PLEASE KILL IT!" dayoung yelled while pointing to the sink.
mark's heartbeat slowed down and he let out a sigh as his gaze shifted over to the tiger spider that was about half the size of his palm.
"it's not even that big," mark said.
"i doN'T CaRe!"
he looked at her, standing on top of the island with a spoon in her hand before chuckling. he reached for the fly swatter that hung on the wall and brought it down on the spider.
after it was taken care of, mark reentered the kitchen and grabbed dayoung by her hips, lifting her from the counter and putting her on the ground.
"are you okay now?" he asked.
"yes, i can make my cereal in peace," she nodded. "thanks, oppa!"

mark sat on the couch in the dressing room with his head thrown back and his eyes closed. dayoung sat beside him, doodling on a piece of paper her stylist provided her while she got her makeup done. they were getting ready for a photoshoot alongside the rest of nct 127.
the sheet of paper dayoung had was soon filled up and she didn't want to bother her stylist by asking her for another one. so instead, she scooted closer to mark and grabbed his arm, turning it over so the inside of his wrist was facing her.
when the tip of the pen met with mark's skin, his eyes fluttered open. rather than saying something, he silently watched the girl draw on him. a small smile formed on his face from seeing the focused expression dayoung wore.
it had been twenty minutes of drawing when she sat back and looked over her work. it was only then that mark was able to see the entire thing. it was a detailed dragon, its body wrapping around mark's arm twice and stopping just after his elbow.
before mark could compliment her, one of their managers walked in.
"what's that on his arm?" he asked, gesturing to mark.
"u-uh, it's nothing—"
"i asked her to draw on me," mark said, interrupting dayoung's sentence.
"you know you're not supposed to be drawing on anyone, dayoung," the manager scolded.
just then, one of the stylists walked over. "it's fine. the photoshoot is supposed to involve tattoos and whatnot."
the manager wore a look of distrust but nonetheless, he brushed it off and left. meanwhile, the stylist smiled at the two idols before going back to doyoung.
"i wanna draw on you now," mark said.
he took the pen from dayoung and started decorating her skin with his own work.

in seoul, the seven members of nct dream sat in the sm lvyin studio. dayoung sat in the spinning chair beside the producer as the member went in to record their parts one by one. jaemin stood in front of the microphone.
"i'm nervous," he laughed, looking at dayoung.
"you'll be fine, jae. do well!" she replied and shot him a thumbs up.
the producer played the track and jaemin started to rap.
"넌 이미 돌이킬 수 없어. 넘치고 넘쳐도 부족할 걸. 아무리 마셔도 갈증 날 걸."
[trans: you can't go back. even if it overflows, it's still lacking. no matter how much you drink it, you'll be thirsty.]
dayoung nodded her head to the rhythm, mouthing the words as jaemin said them.
"drippin' love~" she added on, quietly giggling to herself. "you can come out and listen to it now."
after the rest of the members recorded their parts, it was dayoung's turn. before heading inside, she called for jisung, who was just about to leave.
"can you call mark in here?" dayoung asked.
"sure thing, noona!"
as the producer and dayoung made small talk about the track, mark entered the studio.
"you called?"
he took a seat on the chair in front of the equipment and laced his finger together.
"yeah, can you give feedback?" dayoung responded.
mark nodded his head and the cue was given for the producer to start the track.
"밀려오다 흔들리다, 결국 뒤집혀질 걸, 그럼 어때 뭐든 어때, 네가 원한 거잖아."
[trans: after it gets pushed off, shaken off, and eventually flipped off, who cares? that's what you wanted.]
"yingyue-ah," mark spoke. "when you do the chorus, kind of make your voice higher at the end of some of the syllables."
when she finally finished her recording, she exited the booth and stood next to mark, who wrapped his arm around her waist.
"wanna listen?" the producer questioned, earning a hum of confirmation from the girl.
as they listened to the raw recording, dayoung rested her hand on the back of mark's neck, playing with his hair. meanwhile, his own fingers messed with the fabric of her shirt.
"it sounds really good," she said. "it's different from what dream usually does. i'm excited to release it."
"good job, you two," the producer praised.
mark got up from the chair and they thanked him, heading out together.
"you did great, bub," mark smiled down at dayoung.
➥ 終。
➥ yes i wrote about the recording diary and yes i mentioned drippin' (cause um that song is a huge bop and i could listen to it 25/8)
and YES i had to add skinship with mark (i don't have a legitimate reason but do i really need one)
