*HAYES'S POV*
School just ended for the rest of the guys.
Nash texted them to meet at our house when it was done so that we could head over to Teo's.
One by one they piled in.
There was Matt, Carter, Jack J, Jack G, Cam, and Shawn.
The guys that weren't with us when we first found Juliet were asking a lot of questions.
"Is she okay?"
"What happened?"
"How did you even find her?"
"Enough with the questions, we have to make it in time before they send her off to the person that really wants to find her." I said.
"I will be the first to say this. I know this is the question no one wants to hear, but what if we don't make it in time?" Matt asked.
The whole room went silent.
"Let's try not to think about it." I said.
That was when I heard a knock on the door.
I got up and answered it.
Lesley and Michelle walked in and sat down.
"Um...come in?" I said.
"We want in."
"In what?"
"We want to rescue Juliet with you guys." Michelle said.
"Okay.." I said.
They smiled and sat next to Shawn and Matt.
"But we have to be realistic here." Matt said.
"Oh so you think we're not going to save her?" I said.
"We're not superheroes, Hayes." He continued.
"Then you didn't miss her as much as I did." I snapped.
The whole entire room went silent, once again.
But this time the air was filled with tension.
"Hayes, we missed her as much as you did." Lesley said.
"I'm sorry. I just...I don't know what got into me." I said.
"Well we better make it to Teo's house, because it's a little bit past 4." Nash said as we all went on our skateboards and rode to his house.
We made it just in time.
Our whole group of friends were skating to Teo's apartment when his dad threw Juliet in the back of a van.
"Guys we have to follow it!" I said.
It was driving away and we caught up behind it.
Matt was calling the police, telling them the license plate so that they can track the car.
"They think they're going to the abandon metal factory down the street!" Matt said.
"We have to take a different way so that he doesn't think we're following him." Cam said as we all agreed.
We made a right, made a U turn, and continued to follow the van.
The van was parked outside of the abandon metal factory, and after we reached the front, the police was right behind us.
"Get ready boys." The police officer said.
*Juliet's pov*
"I can do whatever I want. I have you now." My dad smirked.
"Please don't do this." I said.
He got a gun out of his pocket and put it on my cheek.
I whimpered, as the coldness of the gun reached my warm skin.
"I won't use this unless I have to, so please make this easy." He said.
I closed my eyes and nodded.
"First, we're going to get fake ID's, then we're headed to Europe. This is exactly the type of father-daughter time we need." He smiled as he smacked me with the gun.
I opened my eyes.
I held my breath as he did that, then let it out.
I saw red and blue lights outside the translucent window.
"Come out with your hands up! We have the place surrounded!" Someone yelled.
Oh my god. The police are here.
"Well doesn't this ruin our plan?" My dad smiled.
He untied my wrists and my feet.
"Honey?" He said.
I looked at him.
"I love you." He said as he grabbed me by the collar and dragged me outside.
He put the barrel against my head.
You know, if he loves me, he has a funny way of showing it.
But he was going to shoot me, nonetheless.
I scanned my eyes at the scene playing in front of me.
A group of police and police cars were in a row, blocking any chance of my dad running, the police were behind their doors, raising their guns at my dad.
Behind them, were my friends.
They came to save me.
Even though I was close to death, I smiled.
Up until the gun clicked.
My smile disappeared, but I still looked at my friends.
I looked at Hayes, his eyes were red.
Was he crying?
The gun was pressed on my forehead.
I looked at it, my dad's finger was millimeters away from the trigger.
"Bill..I know you've had a tough life.." A police officer stepped in front of her workers, in front of all the cars, and talked to my dad.
Oh my god, was my dad's name Bill?
I didn't even know his first name.
"Tough life? Try terrible, horrible, stupid life." My dad spat.
I couldn't cry.
I was just staring at my friends, telling them I was okay.
Everything was going to be okay.
"Your wife took your only child and left you.." The woman police officer said.
"She took the one that brought joy in my life. She took that away from me.." My dad said.
I didn't know this.
My mom was the bad guy this entire time?
She filled me up with lies..taking all her time and told me that he was the bad guy. I should fear people leaving my life and people that are hurtful and always lie.
But now I realize she was warning me about the worst monster possible, her.
My dad was the good person, he was the one searching for me, not giving up.
And I couldn't return the favor.
"She is just a terrible person.." The police officer said.
"No she is not!" I yelled.
Why was I still defending her?
My dad pressed the gun further into my skull.
I yelped in pain.
"Juliet.." I think I heard Hayes say.
"She took my one meaning of living away from me." My dad said.
"But this is not the answer." The police officer said.
"This is the only way!" My dad said.
"No it isn't, okay!" The police officer said.
"Anne...she's the monster..she cheated on me." My dad told the police officer. In reality, he was telling me.
But, she cheated? My mom, my happiness, my role model, cheated on my dad?
She lied to me this entire time?
"I was protecting her." My dad said, talking about me.
"She was just so cute, the way you walked around the apartment, but when you were crying I was the one to protect you. Not her. She's not the one you should be with." My dad said.
I think he was talking to me.
The woman police officer did the talking for me.
"Then why go through all of this? The kidnapping? Everything?" She asked.
"I did it for her." He said.
"Who?" She asked.
"Juliet." He said.
I shut my eyes, I think I was crying.
I heard the gun click against my head.
He was about to shoot me.
That was when I heard a gun shot, and I felt myself fall to the ground.
