3 Days Later
After Kai was born I've just been so concious of everything. She's so beautiful and little I just wanna protect her.
"Babe can you pass me my phone?". I asked.
He nodded.
I wanted to text the kids and let them know that we were bringing Kai home today.
"I love you". Tommy smiled at me.
"Why are you looking at me like that". I couldn't help but blush.
"I just love you". He kissed my forehead.
"I'mma go get us something to eat". He grabbed his car keys.
"Ok". I kissed his lips.
He left the hospital room. I looked down in my lap and Kai was asleep.
"My lil scoota boota". I kissed her face.
Her eyes fluttered open and she was just looking around.
"Hey baby. Mommy loves you so much and today your gonna meet Uncle Rashad, Uncle Cisco, Uncle Marcus, Auntie Mani, Auntie Jayla, Auntie Maya, and your big brother DJ". I spoke to her.
Even though Tommy and I told DJ that we adopted him, he's still our child. And to him, we are his parents. PERIODT.
Someone knocked on the door and then Dr. Hendricks walked in.
"Hi. It's looks like your settling in well being a new Mommy and all. I have you and Kai's discharge papers all you have to do is sign them and you can go home". She hands me the papers.
I signed them and gave them back.
"Thank you so much Dr. Hendricks". I hugged her.
I know it's weird to hug your doctor but without her, Kai wouldn't have made it without her.
"No problem. Tell the family I said hi". She smiled.
She left the room and I got Kai dressed to go home.
I put her in the crib and went into the bathroom. I took a shower and got dressed.
I walked out the bathroom and Tommy was sitting in the bed eating his McDonalds.
"You ready?". I asked rubbing lotion into my arms.
"Yeah let's go". He stood up.
I picked up Kai and put her in her carrier.
"Ok let's go". I made sure we had everything.
I got in a wheelchair the nurse left for me and put the carrier in my lap. Tommy wheeled me toward the elevator.
"Do the kids know we coming home today?". Tommy asked.
"I sent Rashad a text. I just hope my house is the way I left it". I shook my head.
Knowing Rashad, my house was probably a mess.
We got to the first floor and he pushed me outside.
We got to the car and I got up. I strapped Kai in the middle and sat in the backseat.
Tommy put the bags in the trunk and closed it. He got in driver's seat and we started driving home.
"Baby can you pass me my food?". I asked him.
He handed me my food.
I ate as we drove home.

We arrived home and a bunch of cars were in the driveway.
"The family came to see you". I kissed Kai's forehead.
I got out the car and took Kai out of her car seat.
We walked to the door and Tommy unlocked it.
"WELCOME HOME KAI!". Everybody yelled.
Kai stayed asleep.
Asia, Armani, DJ, Cisco, Marcus, Drea, Jerome, Rashad, Maya, and Jayla were all there.
"Awww y'all so sweet". I cooed.
Everybody surrounded me to see Kai.
"She is too cute Neecey. She look just like you". Asia complimented.
"Thanks Asia". I gave her a side hug.
"Aww my lil Gody Poo". Armani smiled.
I sat on the couch and the kids swarmed me.
"What's her whole name?". Drea asked.
"Kai Imani Strong". I smiled down at my baby.
"She is too cute sis". Drea hugged me.
I could tell that the kids really loved Kai already.
I took Kai upstairs and laid her in the crib.
I turned on the baby monitor and hooked the other one to my sweatpants.
I pulled the door up and went back downstairs.
"I'm hungry". I held my stomach.
"Still?". Tommy asked.
"Yes! I only stopped being pregnant three days ago". I slapped his arm.
"It's some food in the kitchen. I cooked". Mani said.
"Mani I luh you". I hugged her.
I went in the kitchen and she cooked a whole lot.
Waffles, pancakes, biscuits, ham, bacon, sausage, grits, eggs, and hash browns.
"Damn Mani cooked ALL the groceries". I put some of everything on my plate.
I walked back in the living room and sat next to Tommy.
I looked up and everybody was looking at me.
"What?". I frowned.
"You really bout to eat all lat?". Marcus narrowed his eyes at me.
"Yes! The fuck. I'm hungry". I gave him a stank face.
"Y'all best leave my baby alone. Might get cussed out". Mani said making me laugh.
"Thank you Mani! See Mani love me". I started eating.

"So Halloween tomorrow, Neecey y'all taking pictures?". Mani asked.
"No. The kids got they own stuff going on. Rashad going out wit his friends. Jayla and Maya going to a Halloween slumber party. DJ going trick or treating with his friends and then they having a sleep over so it's just me, bae, and the baby". I answered.
"Oh ok. You should at least dress Kai up and have her take pictures. It'll be cute". She suggested
I ain't gon lie, this does sound cute for Kai's scrap book I'm thinking about making.
"You wanna take Halloween pictures?". I looked to Tommy.
"Whatever you wanna do". He kissed the side of my forehead.
"Aww y'all is too cute". Marcus cooed.
I took the throw pillow and chucked it at him.
"Y'all see this? All she do is abuse me!". Marcus tried to toss the pillow back at me but Tommy caught it.
"Love you Marcus". I smiled.
As y'all could tell me and Marcus had this love hate relationship. I just loved annoying him. And for those of y'all who forgot who Marcus was, he's one of Tommy's friends and my low-key best guy friend.
"Mhm sure you do". He shook his head.
"I really do love you Marcus it's just I love annoying you so much more". I giggled.
Everybody started laughing except for Marcus.
I love these times when I'm surrounded by my family.
I scanned the room and everybody was still laughing, except Marcus of course, but curiously Asia was sitting there tight lipped too.
I decided to ignore it for now.
