The sunset hue seems beautiful as that moonlight thief ride his motorbike swiftly through the crowds, heading straight to that one particular detective agency where his little Sherlock currently resides.
'I wonder if he would like the costume' -because he made it himself and as much he dislikes the said character, thanks to that certain blond-bast*** as he dubbed, Conan will for sure looks cool in it... if not cute. He can't help a snicker.
He purposely didn't call to announce that he's coming either, it will be a great surprise.
And now that he has arrived, he would enjoy their reactions.
-However, hearing a loud crash coming from the second floor, Kaito was alerted as he rushed upstairs, hand ready to get his weapon in case needed. Still, he politely knocked.
"Ano...? Hello! Conan-kun?" He called which not so long later he got a reply from a rather feminine voice.
"Coming!" Mouri Ran, with no doubt.
Soon, his guess was proven right when he later got presented with a shocked expression of his childhood fried, Aoko's look-alike.
"I'm sorry but dad is-.... K-K-Kaitou KID?!?" -And that shriek is music to his ear, he smirks.
"Forgive me, beautiful princess, but I'm afraid you're mistaken me with a certain moonlight thief..." he said with a theatrical bow as he reached to kiss the back of Ran's hand, before then he retreated after receiving a rather menacing glare from that shrunken-detective. Still he smiles charmingly as he introduced himself.
"My name is Kuroba Kaito, a magician extraordinaire! and I'm not here for your father but rarher to pick Conan-kun." He says casually as he pointed to that not-so-child boy who immediately fixed his expression.
"Ah! You're early, Kaito-nii! Why didn't you give me a call?" -Another glare, but Conan has makes sure to shot it after Ran turned her gaze.
Cold sweat began to form on Kaito's forehead because, boy! That chibi is terrifying.
"Aha ha ha... I was thinking of surprising you. So, uh... surprise?" Kaito chuckled awkwardly as he scratched his cheek in sheepish manner.
"Mattaku..." Conan sighed before then turning to the still dumbstruck-girl, "Well, Ran-nee-san, This is the Kaito-nii, the one that I mentioned before. And don't mind him, he's one kind of Sonoko-onee-san"
At this, Ran blinked twice before snapped back, "Ah... I see. So, it's just a costume? I never seen anyone who has it this realistic, did you happen to make it yourself, Kuroba-san?" -at this, Kaito beamed.
"But lof course! Amazing isn't it?" He proudly says as he let Ran touch his suit, afterall this isn't the real thing.
"Wow! How talented you are!" Ran praised and Kaito's grin just got widden.
"Why, thank you! As KID's number one fan, it's just simply a must to do as much!" He said and Ran giggled.
"Wow... you sure reminds me of Sonoko, just like Conan-kun said"
Knowing who's this 'Sonoko', Kaito faked an enthusiasm so not to be suspected, "Ah, I'd love to meet her one day, we could be a great KID-buddies~" though deep inside he doubt that it would ever happen knowing the mentioned girl's personalities... plus, she's a blonde...
Okay, I know that it sounded racist, but what can he say? Annoying and blonde, both reminds him of that certain prick.

"So... it seems like you haven't dressed up just yet, ne, Conan-kun?" Kaito said, causing the glasses boy to roll his eyes while crossing his arm.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but as you can see I don't have any costume to be put on..."
"-Of course, you have!" Ran says as she showed him a cute panda costume that apparently matching her own, though it kind of looks like pyjamas than costumes. Kaito is trying so hard not to snort.
All the meanwhile, Conan is glaring at the said costume like his life depends on it... Well, his dignity is.
"There's no way I will ever wear that outside!" He exclaimed.
"But you were okay last time! Why not now?" Ran asked.
"Because, Ran-nee-san..." he empatized, "last time, you were blackmailing me so neither of my friends and I had any other chance. Plus! You agreed to keep that to yourself!"
And that is when a picture fall out from the still folded costume.
"Hmm..? What's This?" Kaito wondered out loud before than he sniffles a laughter at the adorable picture of Conan and the rest of Shonen-Tantei-dan who are fully dressed as animals.
It was cute indeed, and his rival doesn't look like he was forced at all, in which he can imagine just how hard it was to pull out such of expression over the humiliation.
The picture hurriedly got snatched away from his hand by that tiny detective who currently has a bit-red face as he casted down, can't hold the embarrassment anymore.
"Laugh... and pray to heaven for your sin because I will never forgive you..." Conan said in fast English, knowing that Ran wouldn't catch it.
However, unlike what he thought the magician would do, Kaito just simply smiled in content as he raised his hand in surrender.
"Hai... hai... I won't do that. Afterall, I know how it feels to be laughed at. And though I must admit that you're cute with panda, I'd rather to have you in these pair of suit instead..." pulling out a handkerchief, Kaito turning it into a blanket-like before then he covered Conan with it.
"W-what are you-?" But before he got time to protest, the young magician has pulled the cover, revealing Conan who's now fully dressed as Sherlock Holmes, a shocked expression lacing on his face.
"Ta-da~!"
Grinning at his masterpiece, Kaito beamed, "What do you say? I hope that you like it!"
Conan was out of words, "I... This is... err, Thank you..." -he truly loved his new costume and Kaito can't be more happy. Still, he turned around and apologised to Ran.
"Sorry... not wanting to be rude but I just thought that maybe Conan-kun would rather use the pieces I made. Is that okay?"
Ran immediately snapped herself from her daze as she replies with a bright smile, "it's alright. I'm glad that Conan-kun like it. I should be the one to apologise for the trouble. Thank you, Kuroba-san"
"Well, as a magician, it's my duty to make people smile~!" Kaito happily cripped before then turning back to Conan, "so... you're ready to go now?" - and the boy nodded.
"I'm ready!" He exclaimed and the two was about to leave when Ran stopped them.
"Wait a second!" - and so they stopped.
"Yes?"
Taking out her phone, She then asked, "Can I take a picture of you both?"
Exchanging glances, Conan shrugged while Kaito smiled, "Sure, why not?"
And so, a picture was taken. They then bid her goodbye.
"Well that was eventful" Kaito chuckled as he handed Conan a helmet while the said boy hummed as he just received an email from Ran to Shinichi, him.
Smiling, he then replies...
"Well, it sure is..."
