Matt: "Your house is beautiful."
He says as he hops out of the car and shuts the door. He holds out his finger; you are still seated in the drivers seat. He runs around the front of the car and opens your door for you.
Y/N: "Why thank you." You say as you step out of the car. What a gentleman."
Matt: "Can I help you carry your stuff inside?"
You were still stuck on the fact he was being chivalrous and totally forgot that you needed to get your suitcase out of the backseat. You blush.
Y/N: "Yes please."
Matt: He gets your suitcase and hoists his duffel bag over his shoulder. "You're awfully cute when you blush."
When he says this you blush even more, and as you are about to say something stupid, your mom comes out the front door.
Mom: "Hi sweetie!" She hugs you and kisses your cheek.
She then notices Matt and her jaw drops a bit. You lean in and whisper... "Mom your gawking." She closes her mouth and smiles.
Mom: "You must be Matt. I'm *M/N (mother's name)." As he puts his hand out to shake hers, she goes around it and hugs him.
Y/N: "Oh I forgot to mention, we are all huggers."
Matt smiles and hugs her back.
Matt: "That's great. I am too."
Your mom lets go of Matt.
Matt: "Oh. Y/N. I almost forgot, can I borrow your phone to call my manager and let him know what's going on?"
You pull your phone out of your back pocket and toss it to him. "Absolutely."
Matt walks away. Your mom turns and looks at you with an eyebrow raised. "I'm speechless honey. All I can say is you have my blessing." This makes both of you giggle and you lightly shove your mom. "When he's finished bring him inside and show him the guest room. Then I have supper ready in the dining room. Your dad went golfing with some guys from church, he should be back within the hour."
You nod. Your mother walks back inside. You walk up on the porch and sit in one of the wooden seats. You watch Matt pace as he talks on your phone, holding it to his ear with one hand and uses the other to wave around as he talks. You hear Matt say.
Matt: "Yeah she's cute and her family sounds great. I'm going to go to the mechanic shop early tomorrow and see how long it will take to get a new tire and fix the rest of the damage. If you need me, call this number, but only if it's an emergency. I don't want her phone going off for me every ten minutes."
Matt thinks your cute? You knew that you had already become infatuated with him, but could it be the same for him about you?
Your thoughts are interupted by a bark from the back yard. Cody!
You get up from where you are sitting and go around the left side of the house to the wooden fence. You lift the latch and step inside. You are immediately greeted by an overexcited and whimpering Cody.
You bend down and let Cody lick all over your face. You are rubbing him all over and saying, "Who missed me? Did you miss me? You're such a handsome boy." Cody knocked you down to your back and was attacking your face with his tongue as you laughed.
Cody suddenly stopped licking your face and charged toward the gate, where Matt was now standing, smiling.
Cody was barking like crazy.
Matt: "Hey there boy." Holding out his hand for Cody to sniff. Once Cody had sniffed his hand and around his legs, he calmed down and let Matt pet his soft fur around his head and ears.
You were back on your feet watching the spectacle. You thought you could stay this way forever, right here watching a very attractive man play with your pride and joy puppy in your favorite place on Earth.
Matt glances up to you and smiles widely as he pets your dog, who has begun to lick him as he does so.
Y/N: "Well let's get you settled in. Come on Cody." You pat your side to call Cody to come inside with you and Matt. Cody obeys and trots to your side. "Good boy." You walk toward Matt and unlatch the gate again, you head to the front of the house followed by Matt.
You open the door to your house and step inside with Cody glued to your left side. Matt steps in beside you and takes his shoes off inside the door, just as you had.
You take him down the stairs to the basement where there is a home theater set up with a bathroom and guest bedroom.
You look back to Matt who is standing with his mouth hung open wide.
Y/N: "You ok?"
He sets down his duffel bag on the bed.
Matt: "This is beautiful. You said your mom was a florist, but what does your dad do?"
Y/N: "Oh yeah. He is just a retired military man that invested his money well in stock."
Matt: "Wow. I need to meet this man. He's seems like quite the individual."
Y/N: " He is. He's always been my hero."
Matt: "That's sweet."
Y/N: "It's true.... Well I better take my bag to my room and let you get settled in."
Matt: "No. No. Let me carry this for you. Lead the way. Come on Cody, let me show you how to be a gentleman."
You giggle and walk back up the stairs. You walk down the hallway to the end and open the door to your bedroom.
Cody runs and jumps on your bed, like he probably has done ever since you let him sleep with you when you first got him as a pup as a high school graduation present. You turn on the light. Matt places your suitcase down inside the door.
Y/N: "So this is my room. I might as well give you a brief tour of the rest of the house before we meet mom for dinner."
As you walk out Cody barks and follows you both. You open the door across the hall, your brothers room.
Then next to that is the office/ computer room.
Beside your room was a bathroom.
The entry way of the house looks like this:
(The second hallway on the left is the one you just came from. The opening on the right leads to the basement steps.)
You go into the formal living room across from the basement stairs.
Then you went up the stairs. You opened your parents' bedroom door and let him look inside.
The you went down the hall to your reading nook.
Y/N: "Let's go back downstairs to the kitchen/dining room and living room."
Matt wasn't saying much, but you could tell he was amused with the house.
You walk downstairs to the left is the living room.
To the right is the kitchen and dining room.
