We'd left the mansion only to come to a much much bigger one. Probably big enough for the population of a village or small city.
" What is this place?" I whispered more to myself. We went inside and received curious stares from people.
They obviously didn't take to kindly to strangers. I looked down a little, careful not to make direct eye contact.
We kept wandering around, deeper into the building until we were stopped by two muscular looking guys one about 19/20 with short brown hair and brown eyes and the other probably in his early 20s with longer blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Hey." The younger one spoke. "You're obviously new around here. I would have recognised someone as beautiful as you."
He said directly to Penny.
Penny blushed looking down at her shoes.
"Yes we're new here and we're looking for someone."
"Well I'd love to help you babe. I highly doubt whoever you're looking for is half as interesting as me but." The older one spoke to me, smirking.
I scoffed.
You have no idea.
"Who is it you're looking for anyways?" He asked
"Julius. Julius Stone?" I asked hoping they knew him.
They suddenly both went very serious and looked at each other then back at us.
"Alpha Julius? Why? Who are you?"
I furrowed my brows. That title again. Alpha. Why did people keep calling him alpha Julius?
I was about to respond when another guy walked up to us.
"Ah Estrella, Penelope I see you've met Peyton and Zeke." The guy said pointing to the blonde then the brunette.
He looked incredibly familiar.
The diner.
He was the other guy at the diner with Julius that day!
" I'm Xavier. You're probably looking for Julius. Follow me." He spoke before walking down the corridor.
Zeke and Peyton stood there shocked. I shrugged and dragged Penny with me, following Xavier.
"Is it just me or Are all the guys here really hot?" She whispered giggling.
I huffed. I admit they were very good looking but they didn't compare to Julius.
Julius!
God I was about to face him!
What would I even say?!
Hey babe why didn't tell me you were a 6 foot wolf man?
We reached a door. I could hear voices coming from inside and from what I could tell the conversation was very very serious.
Xavier didn't knock he just breezed in. "Alpha. There's someone very important here who would like to see you!" He said.
Julius nodded to the gentlemen already in the office who stood up and left the room. He wasted no time in coming towards me and embracing my small figure.
I couldn't help but embrace back. I did still really like him despite the fact that I knew his secret.
He beckoned me to sit beside him and I did so. Penny and Xavier also sat at the large desk.
"Right let's get down to business." Xavier spoke.
"To defeat, the huns" Penny sang. I would have laughed, were the situation not so serious.
"Well. You're probably so confused right now but here goes nothing. We're werewolves or shifters. We can transform into wolves whenever we please." Julius spoke.
Judging by the severity of his expression, I could tell he wasn't joking. I was shocked to say the least.
"How did this happen?" I asked.
"We were born this way. There are plenty of supernaturals hiding in plain sight." Xavier chuckled.
"Ok well why are we here? And why do so many other people live here?" Penny asked. Julius and Xavier looked at each other briefly as if they were communicating with their eyes.
"Well first you're here for your protection.And they are our pack. Wolves live together in big packs led by a leader along with his uhhh partner." Xavier spoke up hesitating .
"Woah. Protection, interesting. So Zeke and Peyton are werewolves too? Damn. Well this is a lot to take in and I'm sure Estrella wants to talk to her boyfriend alone, so um Xavier will you take me back to the other house?" Penny asked.
He nodded a little too eagerly and ushered her out of the room leaving me and Julius alone.
"Say something Estrella." He spoke up.
I sighed. "I don't even know what to say. When were you going to tell me?" I whispered.
"Believe me I planned to do it soon but I just wasn't sure how or when exactly. Estrella, I'm still the same guy. I always have been and I always will be. Don't let this change how you feel about me."
"Shift" I said. He looked at me before running a hand through his hair.
"Estrella are you sure?"
"Yes Julius. Shift. Please" my voice breaking.
He closed his eyes for a brief second then I heard the sickeningly familiar sound of bones cracking. I screwed my eyes shut until I heard a soft whine.
I opened my eyes and before me stood a big mound of black fur. He was breathtaking and frightening all at the same time. I stood up and got closer to him, stroking his fur.
He looked at me with Julius' green eyes and seem to relax under my touch.
I couldn't do this.
I couldn't.
Before I knew it I was running out the door down the corridor and back down the stairs.
I kept running until I reached the front door.
Opening it I welcomed the evening breeze with open arms. I was getting further and further away from from the house and deeper and deeper into the woods that surrounded it. When I reached a small clearing by a stream I collapsed onto the ground and let the tears fall Free.
What would all of this mean for us? Would it work?
My boyfriend was a freaking wolf!
What would happen if he got really angry?
Would he hurt me?
I sat and cried for what seemed like an hour before I heard someone shouting my name. I stood up, trying to follow the direction of the voice.
Sure enough Julius was standing there, back in his human form. He embraced me immediately and I gladly returned it.
"Do you trust me, mi amor?" He whispered.
I nodded weakly. He released me and took my hand, guiding me back towards the house.
When we arrived, there were random people scattered all around whispering amongst themselves.
"Who is that?"
"She's pretty"
"What's the alpha doing with her?"
"Where is she from?"
"She's an outsider"
"Probably a little toy for the Alpha"
Julius looked at them and suddenly all the whispering ceased.
I looked up at him gratefully and he smiled a little in return.
Once we reached what looked like a very very big living room, Penny stood up from the couch she was seated on and tackled me.
"How dare you disappear like that? Don't you ever try that again. Gosh now I know how you felt that night after the party." She shouted.
We both laughed a little as she released me.
Another girl stood up from her seat. She had brown hair and green eyes, similar to Julius'.
"Hi. I'm Alina. The idiot's little sister. I'm sure this is all very new to you and I'm sorry that the circumstances aren't great but ahhh why don't we all go and have dinner at Julius' house now?" She smiled expectantly.
I smiled back. "Yeah sure I'd like that." I replied.
"Alright then what are we waiting for? Party at Alpha's" Alina shouted. We all laughed except Julius who was scowling slightly.
I squeezed his hand and his scowl melted away. The day had been absolutely crazy but one thing was for sure.. I was in for one hell of a ride.
We ended up eating Spaghetti and actually getting to know each other back at the house.
Alina was just as animated and quirky as Julius described. She told us cute little anecdotes about younger Julius which I would definitely bring up in future conversations.
The 'party' consisted of Julius, Xavier, Penny, Alina and I. Turns out the mansion was owned by Julius, and Alina and Xavier lived there. It was for them and a few other people they all refused to share the identities of.
Once dinner was done I excused myself to go take a well needed shower in the En suite of my room.
I turned the water on and let the scorching droplets take away all the stress. I took extra time washing my hair wanting to stay in the shower for as long as possible.
But alas good things must come to an end!
I stepped out and wrapped the towel around myself going back into the bedroom. I was a little surprised to see Alina sitting on my bed examining her nails.
"Oh thank God. I thought you were gonna be in there aaaallll night." She whined. I laughed.
"I'm sorry I didn't hear you come in."
"It's all good. Anywayz, I wanted to ask you something. I wanted to know if you'd like, like a little lesson about basically everything. You know, a little werewolf 101. I can answer any of your questions."
I smiled. "Oh gosh I'd love that. Thank you so much."
"It's ok. So we start tomorrow morning then?"
"Definitely!"
I replied. With that we said our good nights and Alina left the room.
I finished changing and drying my hair before I curled up in bed.
What a day!
I was filled with all sorts of emotions. Thoughts plagued my mind as I contemplated what tomorrow would bring.
Life would never be the same ; and I knew that now.
My blissful sleep was rudely disturbed by two people screaming and bouncing on my bed.
"Up you get lazy bones I want to start werewolf lessons" Penny shouted.
Maybe if I pretended to be in deep sleep she'd leave me be?
I snuggled deeper into the sheets and made a noise that was quite close to snoring.
Fat chance.
Before I knew it,I was being dragged out of bed and dropped on the floor.
"Ok ok I'm up for Pete's sake!" I said as they stood their in a fit of giggles.
"Who's Pete?" Alina asked still laughing at my vulnerable state.
Before I could even explain they both said that I had 20 minutes to shower and get dressed.
I sighed as they left the room.
Let's get this day over with.
