No way!
This is so not happening.
I have been panicking for the past ten minutes. You know why?
First, Blake is nowhere to be found. Secondly, Drew is missing too! What’s worse? The competition starts in twenty minutes!
“Lauren.” Chace called me.
Where the hell could they be?
“Lauren.” Chace said it in a stronger tone.
We should have never split up! We should have stayed together!
“Lauren! Get a grip!” Chace suddenly gripped both of my arms.
That’s when I finally notice him calling me.
I stared back into his green eyes that mesmerize me every time.
“Calm down! Okay? You need a clear mind to think well!” He scolded me.
I sighed.
He’s right, I’m over reacting.
“There’s no point in finding them. This might be one of Mace’s tricks and we can’t bother to lose okay? Blake and Drew will be fine.” Chace said nervously.
“Will the judges approve of two people at this round?” I asked.
“Well, they might think that Blake and Drew lost on the last round since it’s by individuality.” Chace explained.
I exhaled. Hope this will go well.
We went to our spot, Chace and I.
“Now for the second round, attention please.” The speaker announced.
Everyone’s attention diverted to the speaker and waited for him to speak.
“The second round would be all about choosing the ingredients. The judges would go to your counter then she/he will tell you what she/he wants you to cook and you only have limited time to choose the ingredients you will have to use. There’s no cooking involve. But you have to think fast of the recipe of that food.”
That would be hard if Chace and I were the only one doing this! We really need them.
Suddenly..
The door went wide open!
*Bang*
Our attentions were shifted to a man in a light brown cloak, big black shades, long brown boots, and a hat. He was very tall and fat.
“Sorry for being late.” He said in a deep voice.
“Are you supposed to be here?” One of the judges ask.
“Yes.” He answered.
“Then go to your respective group.”
He walked around the whole area and finally stop..
In front of us.
He suddenly lifted his head then smiled at us.
“The names Dew Berry.”
Drew!
“Shh though, Mace is hunting me.” Then he turned to the judges, “I’m here.”
“Okay then.” The speaker wasn’t sure of what’s happening I guess.
“Won’t he think you’re Drew?” I whispered him.
“No, I think. I look like a total stranger since I looked so obese.” He chuckled.
“Won’t he wonder why you’re here?” I whispered.
“You saw me walk around the whole area right?” Drew raised his eyebrows.
I giggled.
“Like I said before, one makes a mistake, the whole group gets it. I’ll give you two minutes to discuss with your group then we shall proceed.”
“Who knows a lot about recipes?” I we hurdled into a small circle and whispered.
“I think I’ll handle that part.” Drew smiled faintly.
“Then we’re done discussing.” Chace then sighed. “What happened?”
“Our whole room became smoky. I then used the chair then threw it at the window but then, Blake fell asleep. It was a sleeping gas. So there, I jumped right out of the window. I got out of the school then got a disguise. Oh, don’t forget I trapped a security guard at a garbage dump.” He grinned.
“You what?!” I whispered back.
“Ehehehe.” He grinned.
“But in summary, -”
“We shall begin our competition!”
But in summary what?! I think what Drew was about to say is important and he needs to tell us!
Henrick Yam is our judge for today. Oh great, the strictest critique in history.
“I want.. Peach Tiramisu.”
Tiramisu? Is he insane?
“Okay then sir. I need a pack of crackers.” Drew smiled at us.
Tiramisu is like the easiest. Why does he want that? Unless..
“Which one here?” There were practically fifty something kinds of crackers in here!
It’s one of the hardest tasks to find the most wonderful ingredients.
“Oh great.” I groaned.
“I have an idea. You stay here and try to pick and I’ll ask Drew for the whole list of ingredients.” Chace patted my shoulder and ran back to Drew even before I could answer.
I roamed around the room and suddenly spotted Leila and Lyka holding a huge plastic and..
I gasped and hid behind the wall.
They were changing the ingredients making everything cheap! And at this point, no one will proceed to the second level! What in the world are they doing?
I took everything I needed without waiting for Chace.
I chose the Graham Crackers because it seems expensive.
I used to make tiramisu so I know the ingredients.
Peaches, peaches, peaches.
Oh gosh! Which one here?
There are so many kinds here I don’t know what to pick..
“Lauren! There you are! I told you not to move.” Chace exhaled.
Did he search me in the whole equipment room?
“Sorry.” I whispered. “It’s just that Leila and Lyka were changing the ingredients and I panicked..”
“Don’t panic. Even if they changed everything, what matters is the taste. We can get extraordinary taste with different kinds okay? Come on.” Chace grabbed my hand and I felt so hot.
It took us a few minutes picking the ingredients but it went well since Chace is here by my side.
“Here.” We gave Drew everything and he started explaining how the procedure is done.
Henrick Yam just looked at Drew with neutral emotions.
He just kept on nodding until Drew was done.
He gave Drew a blue paper then went on with the next group.
“So?” I smiled.
“We’re in!” Then we all hugged each other jumping with joy.
But I have a bad feeling about this.
It’s like..
We were really meant to win this round.
After a few more groups, everyone was done and it was time to announce the winners.
“To those who received the blue paper, you will proceed to the next round tomorrow at five in the afternoon. See you then.” Then they left.
You know what was funny?
I noticed only two groups had the blue paper..
Our group and Mace’s.
So that’s why.
He really did it on purpose.
Three against three.
This is going to be some competition.

Thought you can hide from me huh?
Whatever your disguise is, I still know that’s you Drew.
And you’re going down on the next round.
