MOUNT WEATHER WAS WHAT RILEY PASCAL THOUGHT WAS A SAFE HAVEN. after the world is simmering in radiation for a hundred years, she can't go outside. she can only keep an image in her head, make believe, of what breathing fresh air feels like and what the sun looks like. riley can just barely make it through living, without some adjustments. when dante chooses to bring in forty-nine people from the outside her age, she's going to be given that chance with force.
AFTER THE EXPERIMENT IS DONE, RILEY CAN FINALLY BREATHE THE OUTSIDER'S AIR. she realizes what this means, though. to get the heavy weight feeling of guilt in the pit of her chest, she sticks with the delinquents and learns their way of survival. riley's best friend, maya, joins her to save their newfound friends jasper and monty.
ALONG THE WAY, riley finds out maybe she does believe in love after all no matter what the cost of it was.
