Nick's POV
Today was Jack's first birthday I was helping Mal set up for his party everyone would be here later for the party including Aaron I couldn't wait for us to all celebrate today. I can't believe that my little buddy was one today he had grown so much he looked like me no one could deny that thanks to his blonde hair and blue eyes he was my son that's for sure. I loved Jack very much he meant everything to me and Mal he was the center of our anniversary I couldn't picture life without him I couldn't believe just how much he had changed my life in just one year. I changed his diapers, fed him and rocked him at night, read nursery rhymes and sang songs all were things I loved doing and I knew that one day I would miss doing all of that. I loved being a dad it was the best part of my life I wouldn't give it up for anything in the world.
Brian's POV
The guys and I all stand in a group watching Jack and Baylee play they were playing with some blocks we all look up when Nick walks over to us. "How are you feeling today?" He looks over at Jack "I feel great I'm happy I can't believe he's one it went by so fast." I nod I knew exactly what he was feeling Baylee would be two soon and it did go by fast. AJ looks over at him "Do you think another little Carter might be happening soon?" Nick shrugs his shoulders then looks over at Mallory who's with the girls by the cake. "Maybe I wouldn't mind having another one we've talked about it." We all nod then Kevin walks over with Mason in his arms the Backstreet Family was growing, Leigh Anne and I had Baylee, Nick and Mallory had Jack, Kevin and Kristin had Mason and Howie and Leigh were expecting their first baby. Things were going well for everyone.
Aaron's POV
When I have the chance I catch Mallory alone and decide to catch up with her and see how everything was going I look over at her when we take a seat in the kitchen. "How are things with the two of you?" She looks at me then smiles and starts twisting her wedding ring around her finger then she looks back at me. "I love him a lot I can't wait for the two of us to grow old together, he's an amazing dad things are great it would be nice for Jack to see his uncle more often though." I laugh at her comment she did have a point though if it was okay with her and Nick I would love to see Jack more often. We talk a little longer then she has to go make sure everything is ready I couldn't wait for them to see what I had gotten Jack it was the best gift he might be one but he had his first Bentley I knew he would have a blast driving it around in their yard I walk out of the kitchen then go talk to Nick.
Mallory's POV
We let Jack have a small cake for himself and he manages to get it all over his hands and face once he's done with the cake we clean him up then we start with his gifts. Howie and Leigh had got him a pair of Air Jordans, Kevin and Kristin had got him different colored Mickey Mouse outfits, Brian and Leigh Anne had got him one of the biggest gifts a huge Teddy Bear chair to sit in. We continue opening gifts AJ and Rochelle had got him a huge bag of blocks when they had their first kid I would pay them back and get a toy that made a lot of noise, and not to be outdone by anyone Aaron had got Jack his very first Bentley, Nick and I got him a toy golf set and a toy guitar. It was good to celebrate Jack's first birthday with people who loved him as much as Nick and I did he had a huge family around him.
Nick's POV
Mal and I put Jack down for a nap then we visit with Aaron and the guys for awhile until they head out it was good to see all of them again I had missed getting to see the guys. Once everyone leaves Mallory and I start cleaning up from the birthday party the food and the cake that's left over gets put away in the refrigerator, then we pick up cups and plates that are left out then throw them in a garbage bag she starts washing down the table while I take the bags outside and put them in the garbage can. I walk back inside then Mal and I curl up on the couch together she yawns then lays her head in my lap I put an arm over her and a few minutes later she falls asleep I smile when I look down at her a nap was a good idea. Jack's first birthday had been a success he got a lot of great gifts and I couldn't wait to see how much he would grow by his birthday next year I close my eyes then fall asleep.
