The Christmas tree's a noble thing.
When winter blows with chilling breeze
We bring a piece of outdoors in
Defying winter's grey and gloom.
We decorate it to make things bright.
Its lights like stars defy the night.
And so we're sad when season gone
It's time for the tree to be taken down.
Proud symbol of the outdoor world
Our tree that winter boldly mocked
Dismembered now and safely boxed.
