Hey, what’s the circumstance?

You’ll never be great without taking a chance,

So wait, you waited too long,

Had your hands in your pockets when you should have been gone.

The aurora hummed down the road later that week. It was nightfall, and you could barely see with all the mist. However, I cranked up the radio, as Diamond Eyes beat through my car. The main problem with driving on a foggy night was worrying about hitting deer. But you didn’t need to hear to see a deer.

I’m on the frontline,

Don’t worry I’ll be fine

The story is just beginning!

I say goodbye to my weakness

So long to the regret

And now I see the world through Diamond Eyes

Boom-lay, boom-lay, Boom!

Breanna looked at me insulted.

“Could you turn that down?”

“Sure I can…as soon as the songs done.” She glared at me, Rock was not her favorite music genre actually, it was more KPOP and other bands I had only heard a couple times. Me, I loved rock and roll, which was partly how Dean and I got along so well. His taste was a little bit older, I couldn’t deny that. But they were still pretty good. Some songs never get old.

“So how long will it take to meet Steve and Paul?” She asked once the song was over.

“Probably about half an hour.”

“Well where did they want to meet?”

“You know how on twelve there’s a curve just as you’re coming into town from the west and the road is wedged between two hills?”

“Yeah?”

“Well the cemetery on those hills is where we’re gonna meet.”

“The cemetery!?” Breanna asked cautiously. “That place always gave me the creeps!”

“Well, I guess they wanted to go there.” I replied, “They have ulterior motives. I think they just want to see the place because they think it’s haunted.”

“I can’t believe you’re taking your best friend to a haunted cemetery!! What did I do to you!?” She pouted and then screamed.

I slammed on the brakes. A person stood in the middle of the road. The eyes were coal black. The aurora came to a squealing stop, inches from the man.

“Crowley,” I snarled.

I flung open the door. Walking up to him, my eyes never leaving his.

My boots slid through the gravel as I stalked up to him.

Crowley stared mockingly at me, “Hello Darling, I was wondering when we would meet again. How’s your back?”

My fury was unleashed as I cracked him upside the jaw. “There’s every bone in your body that knows you deserved that.” I snarled, my eyes glowing blue. There was a part of me that didn’t give a damn what he’d do to me for doing that. He had killed me before.

He glared at me, blood seeping off his lip.

“You’re right.” He said, calmly taking out a handkerchief and wiping the blood off his face. Anger filled me even more with how well he was keeping himself together.

Breanna stood outside the car hovering next to the door. I gave her a look that told her to get her ass back in it. Uneasily she avoided my gaze and didn’t budge.

“Consider the fact that I’m going to make it up to you. How would you feel about a little road trip back to Sam and Dean?”

“I don’t want a single bit of help from you.” I snapped, “I’m not so manipulative.”

“What about a deal?” Crowley asked, “I could have the Knife of Faint for you in less than one day, I know you’re not friends with your tweety bird angel, all you have to do is—”

“Give up my soul.” I finished, “In case you haven’t noticed, Balthazar called dibs first. I’m not your b*tch.”

“No, you’ve made that quite clear; you’re the angel’s b*tch instead.” Crowley finished. “But perhaps it was not your soul I was asking for.”

His eyes flicked to Breanna, who froze on sight, uncertain what to do.

“So what do you say love? Trade for helping out your friend?”

“If you make a deal with him, not only will you have your soul claimed but you’ll have me kicking your ass!!” I vowed.

She glared at me, “I wasn’t going to!”

“Well keep your options open darling,” Crowley said smoothly to Breanna, “You never know when an opportunity like this may arise again.”

“Go,” I ordered. “I’ll deal with Balthazar rather than you in a heartbeat.”

“I can promise you, you will regret this. I’m only a soul’s trade away. And you…” His dark eyes met mine. “You will meet your maker quicker than you think.”

He vanished. I let out a shudder of both rage and relief.

I opened up the door of the aurora and hopped in. Breanna got in and slammed the door shut, she gave me an annoyed glare.

“What is wrong with you? Do you really think I’d give up my soul?”

My fingers clicked against the steering wheel in an appropriate way to respond. I couldn’t come up with one. Quietly I replied, “I’m sorry….I just wasn’t sure.”

Breanna was furious, “How could you not be sure!? You've known me for years now, you know I'd never do that!!!”

“I said I’m sorry alright!?” I snapped, “I just didn’t know. You seemed all for it when you were talking about Dean being willing to trade his soul for me!!”

“I would not—no never—trade my soul for a knife just so you could get back to your piece of man candy!”

Now I was ticked off, and the rest of the car ride was silence.
