*about a month and a half later it's Christmas, Ben wakes up first to find her still asleep, he carefully gets up and starts getting dressed, he comes back out from brushing his teeth to find her sat up in bed*
Mal: Merry Christmas
Ben: and to you
Mal: your not drunk, that's a good start
Ben: last year you told me off so I only had one and I'm 18 so I love you but you're my fiancée not my mother and cannot tell me off for that
Mal: oh sweet silly little Ben, being your fiancée means I can tell you to do whatever I like
Ben: true, but you're not gonna because you're nice
Mal: true, but I quite genuinely would have considered calling it off if you were as drunk as last year
Ben: it was the last year I had before being a proper adult come on let me have a little fun
Mal: you didn't think being a king made you an adult anyway?
Ben: shhhh
Mal: why are you so properly dressed anyways? It's only like half seven
Ben: we're going to my grandpa's for Christmas lunch remember? He's really excited about it
Mal: Ben you never told me that at all
Ben: I did
Mal: no you really didn't and I really don't feel great
Ben: seriously?!
Mal: I'm sorry! I can't help it!
Ben: so what we're not going?!
Mal: forget it I'll go!
Ben: why are we fighting over something so stupid?!
Mal: I don't know!
Ben: can we stop yelling at each other?!
Mal: okay
Ben: why don't you feel well?
Mal: I don't know I just feel weird, I think it's just a bug or something
Ben: would you like me to tell gramps that we can't go?
Mal: we can't do that
Ben: I will if you want me to
Mal: no, I'm sure I'll be fine by lunch
Ben: so this is what Christmas is now for us?
Mal: waking up next to each other every Christmas for the rest of our lives
Ben: I like the sound of that
Mal: and maybe one day there'll be some little kids to do the waking up
Ben: that sounds even better
Mal: we do we fight about such stupid things?
Ben: I think it's just been a long and frustrating 2 months
Mal: I don't like fighting with you
Ben: it doesn't matter, we know it's not gonna change anything between us
Mal: I want it to stop
Ben: people fight, it happens, we just need to try and deal with it better
Mal: I say we do presents now then I'll get ready
Ben: I'll go for that
Mal: okay then
