Chapter One Hundred & Thirty-Three
"So where is Klaus?" Hayley asked.
"When I told him about Rebekah, he said he'd pursue another lead," I told her.
"Forget Niklaus," Elijah said, cutting into his palm and allowing his hand to bleed into the bowl on the table. Using Rebekah's blood, we were going to see if we could find out exactly where Rebekah was. "You will find her."
He had the utmost confidence in Freya, and so did I. But even so, she had requested my assistance. I simply placed my hand on her shoulder, and allowed my energy to seep into hers so that she could have even more luck in finding her sister and my best friend. She chanted, and then poured the blood onto the middle of the map. However, instead of focusing on one spot, the blood instead just spread out even further.
"Damn it," she hissed.
"So much for witch GPS," Hayley muttered.
"I assumed that they'd cloak her, I... I didn't expect a spell this strong," Freya said, trying her best to concentrate on the blood upon the map. It still didn't work.
"No doubt conjured by the same witch that tricked Rebekah into this trap," I added in, and watched as Freya took a seat with a temporarily defeated, and yet determined look in her eyes.
"You should all go. I have my work cut out for me."
"I can stay," I offered.
"No, you should go talk to Klaus."
"The Strix trust me," Marcel added. "If they know where Rebekah is, I can find her."
"We don't have time," Elijah said immediately. "You need to stop Davina from activating Lucien and Tristan's weapon."
"We need to find Rebekah," Marcel argued.
"Yes, we do," I said, moving over to the two of them. "Elijah will stop at nothing to save his sister, you know that. Right now, we need to prevent this weapon from being created. The second it's made, Rebekah is completely vulnerable, but as long as we stop it, Aurora and her men can't lay a finger on her. And knowing Tristan and Lucien, they won't either, as long as Rebekah is still connected to Aurora. So, in other words, either stop that weapon from being made, or get out of my way so I can."
He narrowed his eyes a little, then nodded. "Fine. I'll handle Davina."
"Thank you," I said, and he sent me a slightly annoyed look before leaving.
"Well, in the meantime, please tell me that we're gonna kill someone," Hayley said.
"Oh, we are going to kill many someone's," Elijah growled. "But first, if we're to start a war, let's determine where our allegiances lie."
Elijah and I went back to the compound, where he soon yelled Klaus' name a few times and caused him to show up at the railing.
"You shout loud enough to wake the dead," Klaus said from the balcony.
"You can't pick up your phone?" Elijah asked harshly. "Your sister is missing."
"Well, she's not exactly missing," I heard an unfamiliar voice say, before a woman came up beside Klaus.
She had dark hair, which I saw was closer to auburn than brown. Her eyes seemed to be a rather bright colour, but they resembled pools of darkness while she lurked in the shadows, hiding behind Klaus. Aurora. Why was I not surprised that this little she-devil had wormed her way into my house?
"And as long as everyone behaves themselves, you can trust me to tell you where she is," she said, and Elijah walked in front of me. "Hello, Elijah," she leered, her eyes narrowed a little while she said his name as if it were venom in her mouth.
"Give me my sister," Elijah growled. "Or perhaps I could pay a little visit to your brother, Tristan."
I narrowed my eyes at Aurora, mimicking her own expression, before I sped to the top of the balcony to stand directly beside her. She turned to face me, seeming slightly startled.
"What exactly did you do to my friend?" I asked, grinding my teeth a little and crossing my arms over my chest.
"Ah, Roseia Sothaide. I don't believe we've met. I've heard that you've cast quite the spell over my brother. It is a pleasure to meet you, my name is-"
"Aurora. Yeah. I know. What I don't know is what the hell you did with Rebekah, and I will find out," I said, glaring down at her. I was slightly taller than her. "By whatever means necessary."
"Jo, please. Aurora and I have come to an agreement," Klaus grinned, and Aurora clung to his arm.
"Yes," she smiled, then looked down at Elijah. "Nik and I find that now your vile act of compulsion has been revealed, there's really no reason why we can't pick up where we left off 1000 years ago."
I just barely managed to hold back a gag. I had no idea why I didn't like her. I just reallllllly didn't.
"Go on, love. I need to have a word with my brother."
Aurora smiled at Nik, then turned and left.
"Come on, you little devil," I growled, grabbing his arm and dragging him to the study. Elijah met us up there, making his frustration rather clear.
"Am I to assume that you've gone completely mad?" Elijah asked.
Klaus walked over to us with three drinks in his hands, and I took one while Elijah took another.
"You see madness, I see method!" he grinned.
Elijah rolled his eyes, while I crossed my arms over my chest and looked at him with a completely unamused expression.
"And what exactly is that method, Niklaus? To sleep with the female version of Satan, the same woman who stole my best friend?"
"To be clear, The Strix took our sister. Aurora simply hijacked her," he smiled mischievously.
He saw that neither of us were convinced, and he frowned a little.
"I will get Rebekah back. Trust me. Keeping Aurora close garners the goodwill we need."
"It also gives a psychotic little bitch the hope she needs to stick around for the rest of her immortal life," I growled, grinding my teeth. "Klaus, I swear to god, if I hear you two doing certain activities in the middle of the night, I will not hesitate to remove her heart."
"Which you can, once we get what we need from her," he grinned.
Klaus sipped at his drink, while Elijah considered the plan. He didn't seem entirely sure, but he seemed alright for now.
"Well, it is a bold, if lecherous, plan... Will you employ the same tactic when it comes to retrieve the medallion from Lucien and Tristan?"
I snickered a little, while Klaus smirked.
"They're not really my type," he replied.
Elijah sighed deeply and closed his eyes in exasperation, while I just groaned and hung my head a little. Klaus seemed to understand our fear.
"There must be another way," he said, igniting a small flame of hope in both of us.
"Aurora will always protect Tristan... And, given that he and Lucien are aligned, the three of them will have a distinct advantage on us," he said, then looked to me. "Unless we break that advantage."
"Now there's a strategy I wholeheartedly endorse! What do you have in mind?" Klaus asked, grinning again.
"It's Thanksgiving," Elijah said, a ghost of a smirk forming on his features. "Let's invite them for a friendly meal, systematically turn them against one another, and then devastate their pitiful alliance!"
Klaus and I both grinned devilishly at Elijah, and we all collectively tapped our glasses together as a form of a toast.
"I can feel the holiday spirit already!" Elijah chuckled.
"And if all else fails, Roseia can always work her charms on our dear friend Tristan," Klaus smirked, and Elijah hit his shoulder roughly in reply.
I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Jealous Elijah is one of my favourite Elijah's.
