After Daniel left I knew something was up. He asked me if anyone came with us which I'm sure he still thinks there are 2 other wolves out there. It took me a couple of minutes but I put the pieces together. There must be another rogue that came from the same way we did. I may have been pulled from school but I'm not stupid. Daniel obviously doesn't know me yet but he will but I guess I can't blame him since I know close to nothing about him. Then again I'm sharing a room with him so...... yeah I don't know what's going on. Trust is a gift from me and I'd like to know a little bit more about him because for all I know he my be sweet around us but not to others.
Before I left to follow him, I told the kids to get dressed and just hang out while I go run an errand. I was able to find my way to the kitchen but I'm clueless after that. I couldn't remember which way we went when I first came here or how we got to the bedroom from the office considering I was out cold. I could tell it was roughly noon and there were women running around cooking and preparing to feed the pack. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes and tried to feel where he was. It's something I picked up a while ago. When I have a strong bond with someone I can feel where they are like a sixth sense. Right now I can feel he's on the opposite side of the house from where the bedrooms are. But there was something else. I felt two strong presences in the same area but mom and dad are dead and the kids are with me. That only left Marcus. No way he was here. I left him behind. I lead my way up stairs and stood in front of a large set of double doors. I was about to enter when I heard a familiar voice talking in the room. It was Marcus's voice and he was talking to Daniel. No way! How did he get here? I really don't care! I barged into the room not caring what I am interrupting and called out Marcus's name.
I watched him spin around with shock covering his face, "Lily!" I didn't waste a second before I ran and jumped into his arms. He spun me around making me laugh.
I almost forgot Daniel was in the room until I heard him yell. "What the hell is going on?!"
Marcus set me down on my feet but never letting go of my hand, I couldn't help but laugh at Daniel's confused face. Jealous? I gestured toward Marcus. "Daniel, Marcus. Marcus, Daniel. Daniel is my mate."
I giggled as Marcus's jaw dropped and then he sputtered. "He is your mate." I just nodded my head. "Wow my little Lily is now the Luna of the largest pack ever. But don't think you're not in huge trouble for leaving me." I figured I was in trouble. My eyes bulged. Wait....
"W-what?" I looked over to Daniel and he just nodded his head. "Ever?" once again a nod. I am a Luna of the biggest pack ever. Holy crap! How can I do this? The biggest? Why me? Whoa lighted headed. I feel myself slipping to the ground. I hear the my name being called but it sounds like I'm swimming. All the voices are like waves that make no sense whatsoever but I can hear the clear worry in them. I block out the noises and focus on breathing and building my strength. Slowly but surely I feel myself getting stronger. My eyes flutter open and I realize I am on the couch and both my hands are being held. One by Marcus and one by Daniel. When Daniel saw my eyes open he lets go of my hand leaving it cold. "What the hell was that?" He asked as he stood up and started to pacing on the other side of the room.
I sit up on the couch and I feel a lot better. I look at Daniel, "I'm sorry. I fainted." I said bitterly not liking his attitude right now. Honestly he should be used to me fainting by now because it seems like a common trend. I looked up at Marcus, who was hovering over me. He looks really tired, eyes droopy, slack body, basically the whole 9 yards.
Daniel interrupts my thoughts, "No. Why I am I so tired now after I held your hand? It's like you took energy from me." After he was done saying that he ran his hand through his night black hair making some of it stand up. It looked hot but as much as I would like to think that way now I knew what I did to him.
"Opps." I looked up to Marcus. "Did I do it again?" Marcus nodded his head and let out a huge yawn, then sat next to me. When he sat this close I could see he had a few bruises across his face.
I let out a gasp and Marcus shook his head and said in a really low whisper so Daniel won't hear, "Jay was looking for you."
Daniel stopped his pacing and came and sat on the coffee table in front of me with his wide green eyes. "What do you mean again?"
I wanted to ask Marcus more but I don't want Daniel to know. I don't even think he will handle if I told him to many big secrets. He should at least know this one now since I kind of already gave it away. I looked to Marcus and met his golden eyes. "Tell him please." He just sighed and nodded his head in agreement.
I let Marcus talked for me, "If you hadn't noticed Lily is different. Her and Rosie. They each have powers. Some more noticeable than others and Lily has more than Rosie. Rosie still has a long time until she can even come close to Lily's powers, if she ever does." He gave me a reassuring smile before he continued. "What Lily did to us was a defense mechanism and she didn't even realize she did it. She took our energy and put it in her. Another one, that I'm sure she used to find you was she can sense where someone is. There is catch to that power however, it's that the person she is looking for has to be someone she cares about very much." That's when Daniel turned his green eyes toward me and I blushed. "She is also more observant to detail."
That got a smile out of Daniel, with him still focused on me. "Yeah I know. I played cards with her and Rosie."
Marcus let out a small laugh. "You didn't listen to Mikey either, did you?" Daniel shook his head. "Those are the only ones we know about though."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Daniel asked me this time.
I shrugged. "I don't know. It never really came up." When I was done with my pitiful explanation, both the boys yawned at the same time. I laughed at both of them and rolled my eyes. "Give me your hands." Marcus complied but Daniel seemed unsure. "Do you not trust me?" I asked innocently and smiled when he gave me his hand. I always win. I closed my eyes and pictured my energy going to each of them. I could feel my body getting really tired. Good! I didn't want to talk about this anymore. I opened my heavy eye and breathed out. "Better?" before I closed my eyes and fell into darkness.
Daniel
"Don't you trust me?" She said with wide puppy dog eyes and innocent face. Dammit! She knew I couldn't say no. I held her hand and she closed her eyes. I looked and Marcus and opened my mouth to speak but Marcus held his fingers to his lips hushing me. I could feel my body getting less and less tired and see Marcus having the same effect. Finally Lily opened her eyes and breathed out "Better?" before her eyes closed and muscles slumped with exhaustion causing her to fall back into the large couch.
I panicked. "Lily wake up. Lily wake up. Lily?" I said as I started to shake her but she didn't even move. She really needs to stop passing out on me or I am going to need too take meds just too slow down my heart.
Marcus touched my shoulder, "She's fine."
I turn to face him. He was standing near her with a look on his face that said he didn't have a care in the world. "She is not fine. If she was fine she should wake up. But she's not." I growl at him.
"She doesn't want to wake up." My eyes go wide. "Not like that." He corrects. "She gave us back our energy but got rid of all of hers because she want to sleep. She is worried that you don't like the news about her powers."
I look up from Lily to meet Marcus's eyes. "How do you know that?"
He scoffs, "I grew up with her." he said like it was a stupid question but then his face turn curious, "What do you think about her powers?"
It take me a minute but I come up with an answer, "I don't care that she has powers. She is still my mate and I will always be here for her."
"Good. I'm glad she will be well taken care of but I will always be here too. And don't worry about this." He said as he pointed to the sleeping Lily. "She did the same thing when she told me about her powers." Marcus's golden eyes glaze over as he remembers. "I had to carry her back to the pack house. She was 7. She'll wake up in the morning."
"What was it like back home for her." I asked when I noticed the bruises on Marcus's face. They were old and almost the exact match to Lily's ones that had already disappeared.
He just laughs and shakes his head. "Nope. No way! You have her explain." I sigh and look back to Lily. She should probably sleep in bed not on the office couch. I reached down and grabbed Lily bridal style and I turn back to Marcus, "You coming?" He quickly snapped to attention and follow me to my bedroom. When we reached it I laid her down and stole another glance. How can someone be so little have so much power?
"Marcus? Would you like to be part of this pack?" I asked without taking my eyes off her. I figured Lily would want her friend with us and with the bruises on his cheek I doubt he'll be going back to his old pack.
"Wherever Lily is I will be there." was his only reply before he asked me a question that kind of caught me off guard, "Can I see the kids?"
"Sure." Was my simple answer.
"I wasn't asking for your permission. I only asked because I don't know where they are." he added.
"You know that's no way to talk to your Alpha." I pointed out.
"I'm not park of your pack yet. The only one who I will follow right now is Lily. She will always be my Luna." He stated as he looked me straight in the eye.
"Mine too." I agreed and we let the conversation drop after that. I walked him down the hall to the kid's room. I knocked on Rosie's room first and she opened her door and I stepped out of the way.
"Marky!" she screamed and jumped into his open arms.
His smile was huge. "Hey baby girl." He said as he kissed the side of her head. "I missed you."
"Rosie what are you yelling about?" Mikey said as he left his room. His confused face turned into complete joy as he ran to Marcus's side and grabbed onto him for dear life.
"Hey bud." Marcus replied.
"I missed you too! Why did you not want to come with us?" Rosie asked.
Now this is getting interesting. Marcus pulled back from their embrace with a very confused look. "Why in the world would you think that?"
"Well Lily told us that." Rosie said in a guilty tone. Why would Lily lie like that?
Marcus looks to Mikey for confirmation. Mikey nods his head and Marcus puts on a fake grin, "Well I might just have to talk to Mama about that."
