*20 minutes later he returns with Doug to find Evie applying the finishing touches to Mal's makeup, Mal looks up as Evie stops*
Ben: hey
Mal: hey
Doug: hi guys
Evie: Doug!
*the girls get up and get a quick hug and kiss from their boyfriends before going back to their group formation*
Doug: who's excited for the party?
Mal: it's for me so I could be better
Evie: I used love parties but not so much anymore
Ben: seriously what happened?!
Mal: something
Doug: I'm confused
Evie: you can tell him M
Mal: I can't
Evie: it's okay
*mal shakes her head remembering that day*
Ben: why can't you tell us?
Mal: you'll think less of me
Ben: we won't
Mal: I think less of myself
Evie: you really can tell them M, we're okay now, it doesn't matter
Doug: still very confused
Mal: okay there's the whole story or there's just the relevant but
Ben: whole story
Mal: when Evie turned six there was a huge party where all the kids of the isle were invited save one
Evie: Mal
Mal: Evil Queen disliked my mother because when they had first been placed on the isle of the lost EQ believed she should be in charge
Evie: she held that grudge for a long time
Mal: yeah well my mother found out about the party and hating parties as she did and being annoyed at the lack of respect shown by EQ she banished her and Evie to the other side of the island
Evie: a little over ten years later my mother decided it was safe for us to come out of hiding and that I should go to normal school for the last term as she had figured maleficent would have either forgotten or just stopped caring
Mal: she quite possibly had but I on the other hand had not, I wanted revenge for not being invited to the stupid party so I decided to throw my own, or make Carlos throw it but yeah
Evie: I knew there was something up but no one denied Mal something she wanted and she wanted me to go to this party so I went
Mal: I had specifically chosen the hell hall because I remember something that had happened there when I was younger, I had been doing a project with Carlos when I got bored and decided to go exploring, we found this closet full of metal traps, Carlos came out with a few scars where I managed to escape with one, the teeth on these traps were razor sharp, if you got your foot trapped in there then you'd lose that foot
Ben: that's what the scar on your calf is
Mal: yeah, well anyway I wanted Evie to pay so I locked her in there
Evie: it was only with Carlos' help that I managed to get out of there in one piece, I wasn't physically scarred but mentally I was
Mal: so that's the story, judge away
Ben: you're not that girl anymore
Mal: thank you
Evie: anyway
Mal: oh yeah, we have some news
Evie: what?
Mal: we're kinda engaged
Evie: YAY!!!!!!!!
Mal: easy there
Doug: well done mate
Ben: thanks
Mal: I think that excitement was a hint
*evie starts blushing erratically*
Mal: but don't tell anyone, we're gonna announce it tonight at the ball
Evie: YAY!!
Mal: what time does this ball actually start?
Ben: six
Mal: wait but it's only four o'clock
Evie: the group dinner is first
Mal: how long is it gonna take you to eat?!
*they hear a loud knock at the door*
Doug: that'll be Carlos and Jay
Mal: good I'm starving
*doug opens the door, letting Carlos and Jay in*
Jay: you guys ready?
Ben: yeah
Carlos: good lets go
