*NOTE - At this point in the story I wanted to get the story moving and I wanted to progress a little too fast. Later in my writing in this story I learned that lesson and it continued to write and tried to slow it down a bunch.*
"Ash wait! You need to register first!" Serena shouts as Ash runs towards the door.
"That's right!" Ash runs towards the Pokemon center desk.
As Ash was registering Serena called Professor Oak.
"Ah hello! Good morning Serena!"
"Hey there Professor!" Serena says as Charla jumps up next to her.
"Hello to you to Charla!"
"Char!" It responds
"Ok Serena. What did you want to talk about?"
"Well there's this new thing that has started becoming very popular in Kanto."
"Pokemon contests?"
"Yes sir.... I was hoping....."
"If I knew more about them?"
"Uh... Yes actually!"
"Well your in luck! I know a professor from the Hoenn region! Where contests actually began!"
"Really!?"
"Yes! I'll tell you all about them!"
As the professor is telling Serena all about Pokemon contests Misty is thinking to herself. "Maybe these two could actually be my friends..."
Ash went up next to Serena.
"Ah! Good morning Ash! You to Pikachu!"
"Good Morning Professor!"
"Pika Pi!"
"Did you learn everything you needed about contests Serena?"
"Yes Professor! Thanks a lot!"
Serena walks off to the Pokemon center front desk.
"Is this where I register for Pokemon contests?"
"No miss not here. You register at the contest hall!"
"Thanks Nurse Joy!"
"No problem!"
Back at the computer......
"So Ash are you challenging your first gym leader today?"
"Yes I am! I'm so ready!"
"Alright my boy. Good luck!"
"Bye professor!"
"Are we all ready to go?" Misty asks
"Yes! Let's go to the gym!!" Ash shouts excitedly.
The group heads out to the gym.
"Hey you three....." Someone whispers as they walk by. "At you going to the gym?"
"Yes we are actually."
"I'm sorry to say but the gym doesn't open until 2 P.M"
"Really?!"
"I'm sorry to say.... You have to wait until then."
"Ah man!!"
"Relax Ash." Serena says. "There's one other thing we can do."
"What's that Serena?"
"Well it might be boring but there's a Museum here."
"Whatever. It'll pass the time."
As they walk away the man takes off the hood he was wearing. "Just as they said." He says smiling. "They're walking right into a Team Rocket trap!"
"What exactly does this Museum have?"
"It has multiple fossils of extinct Pokemon, on the second floor is a space exhibit."
"Doesn't sound actually half bad." Misty adds
They walk inside to the front desk. They see two familiar people they just can't put their finger on it.
"3 tickets please."
"Here you go ma'am! Enjoy your visit!"
The group walks in. Serena let's out Charla and the group looks around.
"So this is a Pokemon fossil?" Ash asks looking at one.
"It seems so. It says it's an Aerodactyl fossil."
"Aerodactyl.... Wow. I want one."
There's a few family's at the museum. There's also a few shady looking people but the group doesn't think twice about it.
Misty stays downstairs as Ash and Serena head upstairs to look around. They walk a few steps upstairs and then a net lifts the two trainers in the air. Pikachu and Charla are looking up with shock.
"Hey! Let us go!" Ash shouts.
"No can do buddy!" Someone says. After that a bunch of team rocket grunts appear and surround the two Pokemon.
"Leave our Pokemon alone!" Serena shouts.
What team rocket didn't know is that the Pewter city Gym Leader was visiting with a few of his siblings. He heard the commotion and went up stairs quietly. Misty was to much in thought to hear.
Gym Leader Brock poked his head around the corner at the top of the stairs to see Ash and Serena suspended in the air with their Pokemon being put in cages.
"Let them go!" Ash shouts.
This brings Brock into action. "Go geodude! Use rock throw!" The Rock hits the net causing Ash and Serena to fall and pull out their Pokeballs
"Huh?! It's the Gym Leader! Run!" The sprint with Pikachu and Charla.
Before they can run Geodude blocks their path.
"Go Beedrill and Pideotto!"
"Go Butterfree!"
"Go!" Team rocket shouts sending out Zubat's and Rattata "use tackle!"
This causes Misty to hear. She rushes upstairs.
"Butterfree! Gust!"
"Beedrill! Pin missle!"
The Pokemon fly backwards. Pin missle hits them all and breaks the cages.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" (Ash trained Pikachu to learn it) *one of those parts that I skipped because of my rush*
The thunderbolt explodes sending all the team rocket members flying.
"Hey thanks for saving us!" Serena exclaims.
"No problem! My names Brock! The Pewter city gym leader!"
"Gym Leader?!"
"That's right. Do you want to have a gym battle? You look like a new trainer!"
"I am! Please can we have a battle?"
"Of course!" Brock says.
The group heads off to the Pewter Gym. Brock opens the gym and a referee appears.
"Alright. Let's begin." Brock says.
Ash goes to one side and Brock the other. Misty and Serena go to the stands to watch.
"You can do it Ash!" Serena shouts "I know you can!"
"Thanks Serena!"
"The battle between Gym Leader Brock from Pewter city and the challenger Ash from Pallet town is about to begin! The rules are simple! Two Pokemon per side! The first side to lose both Pokemon are the losers! Only the challenger may substitute Pokemon! Call out your first Pokemon!"
"Pikachu go!"
"Let's go Geodude!"
"Let the battle begin!!"
(Insert battle music)
"Pikachu run so he can't touch you!"
"Geodude Rock throw!"
Rocks are thrown at Pikachu and Pikachu dodges them. He starts to have a white streak of light behind it. It starts running faster.
"Ash! He learned quick attack!" Misty shouted.
"That's great Pikachu! Use quick attack!"
"Pika!" Pikachu sprints around faster and slams into Geodude. It didn't do much damage but it looked like it hurt.
"Use rock throw again!" This time rocks hit Pikachu. "Now use tackle!"
Pikachu is sent sliding along the ground.
"Pikachu thunderbolt!"
"Dodge it and use rock throw again!"
"Quick attack!" Pikachu dodges all the rocks but one. "Thunderbolt!"
The lightning bolt strikes Geodude.
"Quick attack again!!" Quick attack hits Geodude causing it to fly into a wall
"Geodude!" The smoke clears and Geodude is in a wall with swirly eyes.
"Geodude is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!"
"Geodude return. You did an amazing job."
"Now go Onix!"
A big Pokemon appears and looks down at Pikachu with menacing eyes.
"Use wrap!" Onix's tail wraps around Pikachu.
"Use thunderbolt again and again to get it off you!"
Pikachu keeps using thunderbolt. It ends up doing a little damage but Pikachu is crying out in pain.
"Enough! Let Pikachu go!" Ash shouts.
"So you submit your first Pokemon?" Brock shouts.
"Yes! Let it go!"
Brock nods to the referee.
"Pikachu is now considered unable to battle!"
Ash goes to pick up Pikachu. "Good job buddy. Go Pidgeotto!"
"Pigoooooo!!!"
"Use air slash!"
"Take it!"
The battle rages for quite a while.
"Use wrap!"
That's what Ash was waiting for."
"Fly around it then use wing attack!!"
Pidgeotto fly's around the big rock type and hits it with a wing attack. Both Pokemon were already getting weak.
Onix cries in pain as it falls to the ground causing dust to fly. After it clears Onix is on the ground with swirly eyes.
"Onix is unable to Battle! Pidgeotto wins which means the victory goes to Ash the challenger!!
"Alright!!" Ash shouts. "We did it! We won our first gym battle!!"
Serena runs up to Ash and gives him a hug.
"Good job Ash! Congratulations!"
"S-Serena...... C-can't breath....."
"Oh! Sorry!" Serena says quickly letting go.
"Good job Ash." Misty says.
"Thanks guys!"
Brock walks up to Ash.
"I haven't had a battle like this in a long time! So it's my honor to give you the boulder badge!"
Ash takes the badge.
"Alright! I got the Boulder badge!"
"Now I honestly don't want to be a gym leader though...."
"Why not?"
"You see I want to be a Pokemon breeder! But I can't leave my siblings. My father left when I was younger and my mother left a few years later.... So I'm stuck here.... My dad is the rightful gym leader..."
"Oh... I'm sorry."
"It's ok..."
"Brock..." A man says.
"Yes? Who are you?"
"Brock.... I'm your father." *another part I rushed*
"W-what?!"
"That's right... Now you can follow your dream. I'll take over the gym and care for these children."
"R-really?!"
The man shakes his head
"Brock starts telling him about the kids from allergies to books they like."
Brock then hands him a really long list of things he just said.
Brock says goodbye to all his siblings and grabs a bag and packs it quickly.
"Thanks again dad!!" Brock shouts as the group now heads out.
"Alright so what are you guys planning on doing next?"
"Well I'm entering the first ever Pewter city's Pokemon contest tomorrow." Serena says.
"That sounds good!"
"Mhm then we're leaving to the next city."
"Awesome!"
They get to the Pokemon center and Serena begins training for the Pokemon contest.......
After meeting the gym leader Brock after being captured by Team Rocket, Ash battled in his first gym battle. Ash defeated Brock in this battle. Now Brock joins Ash, Serena, and Misty on their journey. Serena is preparing for her debut and actually everyone's debut in Pokemon contests....... Will she do be victorious like Ash? Or will she fail in her first attempt? Find out as the Journey Continues......
