Petyr stared at you in disbelief. Never had he met a more cunning woman. Not even Cersei. Cersei was cunning in a different way. You knew just how to manipulate people without them knowing they were being manipulated and the best part? You never acted anything less than the perfect lady. "Good evening, Lord Baelish," you greeted with a smile. To anyone else, it would seem like just a friendly gesture, but Petyr knew better. He knew that smile hid something.
"I know you are up to something, Lady Y/N and, make no mistake, I intend to discover what," he whispered with his own calculated smile. You gave a little laugh to keep up the pretense of a normal conversation but then whispered to him, "By the time you have discovered what I have planned, it will be too late." You gave another smile, then curtsied before turning and walking away.
Your plan was a simple one and all it took was a little pouty lip and a fluttering of eyelashes. Now, all you had to do was wait. No one ever suspected you until Petyr and you knew why. That phrase "it takes one to know one" definitely applied in that case. Petyr could see the calculating and cunning person you were simply because he was the same way and that intrigued you. After meeting him and talking with him, you knew you had to have him and that is where your plan came in.
All your life, you had been raised a perfect lady, but on the inside, you were witty and somewhat ruthless when it came to getting what you wanted. Right now, you wanted Petyr Baelish. So, when your father brought up marriage yet again, you played the obedient daughter and told him you would consent to a marriage. Then, you went about dropping hints as to who would you want to marry and all signs pointed to Petyr.
It didn't take long for your father to get the point. You realized he had when Petyr came storming into library. "I knew you had something planned, but I never would have thought it was something this devious. Marriage? Why would I ever consider marriage to you?" You let out a laugh and pulled a scroll from your pocket. "Because you have no choice in the matter, my lord," you said with a smirk. You handed him the scroll and watched his face as he read it. It was a letter from the king. A letter confirming your betrothal. You knew one would soon be arriving for Petyr as well.
"Well, you truly are a walking contradiction. You put up this pretense of being a charming and wonderful lady but underneath, you are as cold and manipulative as I am. You begged this marriage of your father who, in turn, entreated the king. Very clever, Lady Y/N." You quirked a brow at him as you saw his typically cool facade slowly fading away. "I begged nothing, my lord. I simply...hinted to my father that there is only one man I would be happy to marry. He simply took my hints in his own way."
You smirked as Petyr rerolled the scroll and chuckled. "Well then, I suppose you and I have matters to discuss." To his own surprise, Petyr wasn't angry. He was slightly proud. He was proud of the fact that he was the only man you would even consider marrying and he was proud of the fact that you had been so cunning in your attempt. Handing you back the scroll, Petyr offered you his arm which you readily accepted. The rest of the evening, both of you learned just how much of a contradiction you both were. When you married, the two of you would become the most powerful lord and lady in all of Westeros.
