Psyche & Eros (Greece x Reader)

By pumpkin_orange020

When your friend starts reading Psyche's story in "Greek Heroes" and then you start fangirling out of nowhere. Seriously I have developed a crush on Eros last year when I read Psyche's story. My reaction was like "Oh shit not another one" because I don't want another fictional crush, but then that's how I roll.

-Pumpkin

"Oh my gods you are so beautiful!"

"Marry me! Marry me!"

"Would you like to go on a date with me, ma cherie?"

"Become one with me da?"

"You shall be my property!"

"You're so beautiful aru!"

"Dudette! How about I take you to Florida?"

"Ciao bella!" (Veneziano is practically Percy to most Hetalians)

"Would you like to go out with me for some beer? Kesesesesese!"

"W-Would you like a cuckoo clock?"

You slammed the gate of your house as you ran into your safe fortress. Your house.

That's practically how your life revolved around you. Countries would try to court you almost everyday and you couldn't even get out of your own house because they're right outside. Your boss agreed to make yourself a close-country because of the other countries.

Why were the countries like this towards you? Because you're extremely beautiful. You're a goddess of beauty to them.

Your (h/c) hair was still beautiful to them wether it was long or cut short, your skin was somehow soft and smooth no matter what that made you frustrated, no matter what body shape you had they still think your a goddess, your (e/c) eyes sparkled with anger and annoyance made your look more fierce, your lips looked soft and kissable that many have tried to kiss, and your gorgeous face structure never helped you.

"Are they gone yet?" You asked your boss while peeking out of your sheets.

You boss sighed and shook her head.

"Nope, but their kept at bay." She peeked out of the curtains and gave a small frown. "That America guy looks like he's not going to give up any time soon though."

You groaned in annoyance and covered yourself with your comforter. Your boss sighed as her phone rang.

Your boss greeted the mysterious caller in your native language as you sulked some more.

It wasn't your intention to be beautiful. You never wanted to look like a goddess for anyone. You just wanted to be that simple country with a smile who can live her life normally without any extreme admirers who'd die or declare war on anyone.

"Uhhh... Are you sure?" You peeked at your boss who was looking at you with a confused look. "Hold on."

Your boss placed the caller on hold as you sat up.

"What?"

"Greece says that he wants to speak with you."

You became scared. What if this Greece dude became one of your admirers and somehow got your boss' phone number to communicate with you? It was scary because you don't know him. You've been an anti-social ever since the countries went to far with their courting.

"Can you tell him-"

"He's our ally (C/n)." Your boss cut you off.

You looked at her in confusion as she face palmed, and grabbed a history book from your shelf and gave it to you.

The Greek Civilization and the (Nationality) Empire

"Oh shit..." You face palmed.

How could you forget. You knew Greece ever since you became a country. The alliance between you and him were stronger than your bond with your boss.

"It's alright, I know that you forget." She shrugged. "I'll tell him that you're busy and-"

"No, just give me the phone." You sighed.

It's been months since you've talked to another country. Almost a year. The last country you've talked to was one of your admirers who was trying to climb over your electric fence.

"Are you sure?" Your boss looked at you in worry.

"Yeah, besides I have to keep up our friendly relations to our ally right?" You smiled as she handed you the phone.

You turned it back on to call and inhaled nervously.

What if he changed? What if he became one of my crazy admirers?! You shook your head from your crazy ideas and spoke on the phone.

"Hello? Heracles?" You usually called him by his human name.

You heard a yawn at the end of the line and some cats meowing.

"Χαίρετε (Y/n)." A sleepy voice greeted that made you sigh in relief.

(Translation: Hello.)

"It's been so long, huh? Sorry for neglecting umm... Our alliance." You laughed nervously.

"It's alright." He yawned. "You're probably busy with all your suitors and all."

"Yeah... Hahaha... My suitors."

"Are you alright? You sound kind of down."

"And you always sound sleepy." You sassed back.

"I'll meet you at the cave we first met." He stated.

"Wait, what if they-"

"You have that secret entrance of yours." He reminded. "Use that."

"Sure then..." You shrugged. "Meet you there at sunset?"

"Σίγουρος." A meow was heard through the line. "Aντίο.

(Translation: Sure. Bye.)

"Bye..." You hung up and handed your boss' phone to her.

"You're coming out of your house for the first time in four months... Wow." Your boss looked at you in an impressive way.

"Well, you're better than my sisters." You smiled.

"Too bad my great-great-great-great-grandaunts are dead." She shrugged.

"I'll be back by midnight." She saluted and walked out of the room.

"And I'll be stalling those guys for a while, get to your sweet time." She smiled and exited your room.

You sighed (again, you've been sighing a lot wow) and got up from your bed. You wanted to get ready for Greece since he's your closest ally of course. It's not really like a date or anything, but you wanted to style up a bit and test him if this was a trap or not.

You grabbed a white spaghetti-strapped maxi dress and brushed your hair. You didn't want to put on make up or shoes. I mean, it's a cave by the beach where no one goes to. Who needs make up there?

You walked out of your room quietly and quickly made your way towards your basement.

The cave actually was connected to the home you live in. The house you lived in belonged to the empire that once stood on your country.

The cave wasn't that hard to go through or hard to jump over ledges because you've made a path for yourself. The area where you're about to meet Greece was a special place to clear up your mind. The only countries who knew about this place was Greece and the old empire.

You finally saw the light and crawled under the small opening.

You entered the small cove which was like a small house for you with a large opening with no door.

You seemed a little bit too early, but you didn't mind. You wanted to clear your mind from this madness.

You were exposed to the world months ago and then they come claiming that they love you. Why? Because beauty. Sometimes people don't fall in love with them just for money or feelings. Others marry for their looks and you didn't want that.

You wanted to show the world who you really are and how idiotic you are, but they just wouldn't stop and listen. They were too overwhelmed by your beauty.

The sea is beautiful
The sky is great
The forests of our country is abundant with grace
And the mountains are heaven's key

You recited aloud.

But beauty stands much more than just looks
Your eyes may deceive you from my wicked grace
The light that shines upon me was never there in the first place
The sweet sound of my voice covers another
The soft skin you feel is actually leather

You sat down on the sand and watched the waves dance while you recited out your poem.

The consequences of ones looks can be fatal
It's never wise to trust someone who is seductive from head to toe

My words may betray you
My songs may hypnotize you
My eyes may glint with innocence
My lips may be of an angel's

But everything is nothing more than a filthy trap

You whispered the last verse softly with poison and looked down on your sand covered feet.

I have killed many
Conquered lands
Vicious and violent
I am no rose

I am a mere thorn without flowers
A vine filled with poison
The sickness that caused grief
The killer who fooled the wise and the foolish

Empires fall
The unity is broken
People come out yelling murder
And everything was made because of me

You started to cry.

I ignited the fire
My own anger became wrath
Stronger than the gods
Stronger than the elders of the worlds

The suffering all started because of me

You cried and cried from the things you've said.

All were true and were all in the past. You never wanted any of those things to happen to the people. To the people of other nations and your own. You've conquered and fell. Again you rose with the anger you've felt for destroying your pride. You had the power. You were all powerful. Then you never wanted this to happen. You didn't want those who loved you for looks to get closer to you. You don't want them to know what you're capable of.

"(Y/n)?" You quickly wiped your tears and looked at Greece with a smile.

"Sup?" You greeted as he sat next to you.

He had a cat on top of his head, but jumped away from your area near the water.

The Greece you saw definitely looked like the Greece you saw in your first world meeting. He wore his same old style. A white shirt, brown jacket over his shoulders, khaki pants, and a pair of combat boots. It was practically his military uniform too, but without the hat.

You breathed slowly as you closed your eyes.

"You sound sadder than how you were on the phone." He pointed out as he moved closer to you.

"It's just..." You sighed and hugged your knees. "It's just that my suitors are... Dumb idiots."

"Dumber than Sadik?"

"Dumber than him." You stared at the sea and wondered what if the other nations knew about your past? "They all think they're in love with me, but it's all because of my looks."

"Well you are beautiful." He spoke softly. "Μητέρα always said that you would make a wonderful wife."

(Translation: Mother.)

"Yeah, one with a killing record of who-knows how many." You spatted out. "And I am not against your mother okay?"

He sighed and placed something on top of your head. You took off the item he placed on your head to see that it was a laurel.

"There, now I can tell you the story."

You rose your eyebrow at him in confusion.

"Once there was a princess named Psyche." He began.

Well, no turning back now. He already started the story.

"She was known for her beauty throughout the land. Suitors would flock to her house everyday trying to get her attention or get her to marry them. Psyche all turned them down though."

This you've got to hear.

"Why?" You asked Greece.

"She had the same thoughts as you. She didn't want to be married off because of her beauty. Her sisters were always jealous of her because she got all the attention. People all over the land stopped worshiping Aphrodite as the goddess of beauty and worshipped Psyche instead. The goddess was furious and sent her son, Eros, to make Psyche fall in love with the most ferocious and hideous monster."

"Ouch, harsh much?"

"Pretty much, but that's how most gods and goddesses roll in mythology." Greece shrugged as you chuckled.

"Eros came down to meet the young princess only to find her trying to escape the consequences of her beauty. The princess refused to be called a goddess, she refused to be worshipped, and refused to be married off because of beauty."

You listened more attentively and started to become more interested.

"The god of love fell in love with her. Not because of beauty, but how strong she was when she pried off her problems in a non-violent way. The god set them up. He married her without the princess knowing that she has married a god."

"Is it a happily ever after yet?" You asked as he shook his head. "Knew it."

"Well, they had a great marriage for a few days. Eros can see her face while Psyche can't see his. He didn't want her to know that she married a god. It would be disastrous. His mother would know and kill Psyche. Then Psyche did the wrong thing."

"Here we go." You huffed out to get all of your adrenaline from the nervousness.

"Her sisters persuaded her that her husband could be a dragon. She did as what her sister instructed her to do. She lit up an oil lamp in the middle of the night to see her husband's face. She was surprised with shock to see the god. She then muttered his name which was a big mistake-"

"Why?" You cut him off for a short question.

"Names are powerful and should be called out carefully." Greece explained. "The god awoke and stared shocked at his wife. The god was furious. Psyche accidentally got some of the oil at Eros that gave him a burn."

"Yikes... Marriage problems."

"He abandoned Psyche with no protection from his mother or from anyone at all. Psyche had one goal in mind and it was to find Eros. She didn't care if she was a god or not. He loves her the way she wanted everyone to love her. Not by looks, but by spirit. She fooled her sisters into jumping off a cliff lying to them that Eros was looking for her sisters for another wife. She cleaned temples of the gods and earned guidance. She finally found Aphrodite. The goddess gave her three tasks to see if she was a willing wife or not.  The first task was to pick up mixed grains and place them back in their correct sacks. Demeter helped her and finished the task. Next was to get the Golden Fleece and was helped by Hera. The third was to get a water from the River Styx from the top of the falls and was helped by Zeus."

"Yes, happy-"

"Then Aphrodite had to give her another task."

"Dammit Aphrodite." You groaned as the older country chuckled at your childish expressions.

"The last task was to get a box of beauty ointment from Persephone. She did the task easily. Persephone instructed her not to. Since she has realized that she looked haggard, she decided to try the ointment because it was one of the qualities to be a wife. To be like Demeter, to be like Hera, and to be like Aphrodite. She opened the box and falls into a sleep that felt like death. Eros felt that something was wrong with his wife and came to her aid. The god found her on the ground with the box empty. The god of love carried her to Olympus right before the gods announcing that this was his wife and she had completed all of her tasks that has proven her to be a good wife."

"Wow, so to be a good wife you have to do all of Aphrodite's shit? Yikes, I don't want to get the elixir."

"In the end the gods agreed to make her live again, but not as a human. She lived as a goddess, the goddess of the human soul."

"Woah..." You were amazed like a child from the myth.

You felt like you can relate to Psyche. She could've been your best friend if you've met her.

"She sounds like you doesn't she? Just without the wars."

You sighed and smiled sadly.

"Hey Heracles..." You spoke. "Do you ever wonder why I sometimes forget our alliance?"

"Why?"

"Because I'm only an adopted heiress, I'm not (Empire name)'s child or anything." You confessed. "I was a citizen that sparked up her flames again when she gave me her place before she..." You trailed away.

It was true. You were once a human being. A mortal, not a country. Your boss was your sisters' descendants. She was better than your sisters though. She was more understanding and caring.

"And this is why I love you."

"Wait, what?" You looked at him who had a flustered expression on his face for the first time.

He was covering his mouth with his jacket with his cheeks glowing pink. You stared at his deep forest green eyes that made your heart beat stop.

You've never heard anyone saying anything like that to you before. The scene was too shocking. He just confessed out his great love for you out of nowhere and the both of you didn't know what to respond to each other.

Your face was pink too as you began to recite the rest of your poem aloud.

But suffering for something or someone worth for it everything

You whispered your poem as you sat like how Japan sits while eating on a kotatsu.

The pain will disappear once you've reached your goal

The endurance
The patience
The loyalty
The love

It's all worth it
Something bitter at first
Becomes something sweet in the end
Because we all fight for it

You leaned in closer to Greece's face as he stared into you beautiful (e/c) orbs. You caressed his cheek as you leaned in closer.

Because in the end it's going to be wonderful
A new beginning
A brand new start for those who have suffered
The war is now over

It's time to live in a world of peace
No matter how strong the storms are
No matter how the world tries to tear us apart
Nothing can stop us from a new beginning

"Heracles..." You spoke softly and leaned in closer. "I love you too."

You closed your eyes and collided your lips with his. Both of your lips moved in sync slowly as the peaceful scenery around the both of you did its job to look romantic.

It was a short, but passionate, kiss that left the both of you in a cheesy romance scene.

You smiled and hugged the Greek.

"I love you because you handle everything all by yourself even with the biggest problems." You giggled at his confession and gave him a peck in the lips.

"And I love your for accepting me."

It's because our past is something we cherish
The things we've done made us the people we are today
The future is someone new
Someone with a new start

Okay heads up, I love fluff even though it can break my heart at times. Also this is only a summary of the story of Psyche and Eros. Everything was too long so I shortened it.
Also the poem has nothing to do with the Psyche and Eros. Call me a brag, but it's my own poem. Hahaha, I'm not very poetic. It sucked really. Sorry.
Aug Wiedershen for now!
