THE STORY CHANGES SETTING A LOT, SO BE WARNED. IT IS ALL IN THIRD PERSON POV!
"Ryan!"
"Daddy!"
"Are you ok, buddy?"
"My neck hurts."
"Let me see." Ryan showed Adam his neck, and there were bruises in the shape of fingers. "ok buddy. you're ok. Thank you Ali."
"Thank Rylie. She punched the woman and she dropped him."
"Thanks Rylie. You're mom should be here soon." Adam said, taking Ryan to his room.
AT THE HOSPITAL- Tobin, Ashlyn, and Alex are in separate rooms.
Hope was sitting with Ashlyn, when it hit her that she should probably call Ali.
"Hey Hope. How is Tobin?"
"She is awake, and Amy and Carli are with her."
"That's good. Where are you?"
"Well, I'm with Ash. She got knocked out trying to hold the woman's body guards off, so we could get Tobin out."
"What?" Ali breathed out.
"Don't worry, Ali. She'll be ok. Alex is also not awake yet. JJ and Pressy are with her."
Ali sobbed on the other end. "As soon as cap gets back I'll be there."
"Ok see you then"
Hope sat next to Ash and held her hand.
"Ash, you gotta wake up. This team needs you. Ali needs you. I need you. I love you Ash. You gotta wake up."
"You mean that?" Ashlyn croaked.
"You're awake! And yes. I meant it all."
"Where is Ali?"
"She'll be there when Cap gets back."
"Why does she have to wait for cap?"
"Long story." Hope started before explaining the whole story. Once she finished, Ash said
"Damn. Rylie is one tough kid. I hope Amy realizes how much she owes to that kid."
"Oh she does. Here talk to Ali." Hope said handing Ashlyn the phone that was ringing.
"Hey Hope."
"Ali?"
"ASH! You're ok!"
"Yeah, I just have a minor concussion. I'll be ok."
Just then, JJ came in.
"Guys. Alex is awake."
"Ali?"
"Yeah I'm here."
"Alex is awake too. We're all ok!"
"Thank god. I'll be there soon to see you all. Love you, bye!"
"Love you too, bye!"
"I'm going back to Alex" JJ said. "We're trying to get her and Tobin transferred into the same room"
"Ok, when Ali gets here I'll come and see them both."
"Ok see you then"
"Bye JJ."
WITH TOBIN
"Where is Alex? Is she ok?"
"Tobin, she just woke up." Cheney said.
"Woke up? Why was she not awake?"
"Your kidnapper knocked her out, then attacked Ryan."
"Is Ryan ok?"
"Yeah, Rylie punched Rachel in the nose, and she dropped him. Reece then went and got JJ, Pressy, and Ali."
"Rylie saved me."
"No, she saved, her, Reece, and Ryan?"
"No, she showed Alex the Find my iPhone app, and that's how they found me."
"that kid is amazing."
"Well, look at her mother."
"this is true."
Just then, a doctor rolled Alex's bed into Tobin's room.
"I'd thought you'd like a roommate, Ms. Heath."
"Alex." Tobin breathed. "you're ok."
"Yeah I am. I have a concussion, and a broken nose, but I'm ok."
"Guys, can we have a minute?" Tobin asked.
"Yeah." And everyone left.
"Alex." Tobin said getting up.
"Wait. Is Ryan ok? The last thing I saw before blacking out was that woman grabbing his neck." Alex started to cry. "I crawled a few inches to get to him but I couldn't!" She sobbed.
"Alex, shh. He's ok. I saw it all happen."
"How?"
"She had a sick rig. We were bugged, she was spying on us."
"That's twisted."
"I know. But anyway, she's in jail now, along with her wing men. So anyways, once you got knocked out, Rylie had distracted her with questions, so she loosened her grip on Ryan's neck. Then when Rylie asked how she knew about me, Rylie punched Rachel dead in the nose, and she dropped Ryan. This was all after she sent Reece to get JJ, Pressy, and Ali. Rylie picked up Ryan, and carried him away, and brought him towards you. JJ came in and she pinned her down, Ali took the kids, and Pressy stayed with you and called 911. JJ then sent Ali away with the kids, after Rachel asked how she knew her name when JJ addressed her. Once Ali left, JJ goes, 'You're wearing your name tag you fucking idiot.' Then slapped her across the face, and goes 'that's for the kid you douche.' That's when the cops and paramedics came. After watching this, Hope, Ash, and Carli came in. Hope and Ash held the guys off, and Carli came and busted me out a window. Ashlyn got knocked out, and has a minor concussion."
"Wow. I love this team."
"So do I. I also love the team children. We really owe everything to Rylie. Once everything calms down, we need to do something special for her."
"Agreed. Reece too. She got the gals."
"Yeah totally."
AT THE HOTEL
Reece and Rylie were laying on one bed, and Ali on the other, watching Disney Channel. Christie knocked on the door. Ali went and answered it, and her and Chris walked in.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Reece ran over to them.
"Hey Reecie! Are you ok?"
"Yeah! RyRy saved all of us."
"Oh really?" Chris questioned looking from his youngest to his oldest.
"Yeah she did!" Reece was adamant.
"She really did, Cap. Tobin has the full story, but from what I know, actually, Rylie, you tell."
"So, uh. There was a knock at the door, and Alex went to answer it. Alex told her it wasn't a good time, then she punched Alex, and ran at Ryan. I don't know why she went at Ryan,but she did. Anyways, she had grabbed Ryan by the throat and he couldn't breathe, so I told Reece to get JJ, Pressy, and Ali, which she did. Then I distracted her with questions. She talked to Tobin looking up at the corner of the room, so I asked her why she knew about Tobin, then she loosened her grasp on Ryan, and when she was mid-sentence, I punched her in the nose, and she dropped Ryan. That's when the girls came in. JJ was on top of her, and Pressy stayed with Alex, and we went with Ali."
"Wow. I'm so proud of both off you."
"I have to go." Ali said. "I need to see Ash."
"Go on. And thanks for staying with them. I'll call a team meeting, and let the others know what's going on. Can you ask Alex and Tobin if they want visitors? I think the girls would want to see them."
"Yeah sure. I'll let you know."
BACK AT THE HOSPITAL WITH ALEX AND TOBIN
"So where was I? Oh yeah I was gonna tell you about the set up she had. So, her being a maid, she obviously had access to all of the rooms, so she must've bugged us. She had video and audio in the training room, meal room, meeting room, practice facility, equipment room, lobby, Cheney and
A-Rod's room, and our room. She then screwed a chair into the floor in front of the screens, then tied me to it, and made me watch everything. I yelled out a few times, earning a few warnings from the guys, then I screamed out when she opened the door, and they came in and beat me to the floor. Then I watched as everything went down."
"Wow. How did this happen?" Alex asked rhetorically, not expecting an answer, but Tobin gave one.
WITH HOPE AND ASH
Once everyone left Tobin and Alex's room, they went to see Ash. After a few minutes of light conversation, Ali came in.
"Ash" She cried, running over to her concussed girlfriend.
"Hey Als." She said, motioning for everyone to leave.
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm alright. I'm so glad everyone's ok."
"Me too."
"Do you know how Christie found Tobs's location?"
"Well, you see, we really owe everything to Rylie... And then we got there, and Pressy called 911, and I stayed with the kids until Cap arrived." Ali finished.
"Wow. That kid really is something else. Hope told me some vague details before, but she saved this team."
"She really did."
IN THE WAITING ROOM WITH HOPE+CARLI AND JJ+PRESSY
Christen was on Julie's lap, and Carli on Hope's. Christen was nodding off to sleep on Julie's shoulder, and Carli had her head in the crook of Hope's neck.
"This might have been the scariest day ever." Carli said. "Just imagine being Alex. First Tobin doesn't come back, after they'd been fighting, only to find out that she'd been kidnapped. Then, Alex was in charge of three kids, and she gets punched out by the maid that kidnapped Tobin, because she wanted to fuck Tobin. Baby Horse is one though kid."
"This is true." JJ said. "Imagine being Rylie, though. That amount of responsibility should not be put on a 10 year old, but she handled it like a warrior. Then again look at her mother." Julie laughed.
"That's what I said" Hope laughed along with her centerback
"I'm so proud of Reece though. she knocked on the door to our room, and was crying, so Julie picked her up, and asked what was wrong. She said, "Aunt Alex is hurt, and someone is hurting Ryan. Jules yelled at Ali and I to come, and sure enough, there was Alex knocked out on the floor, and Rylie carrying a crying Ryan towards the door, and there was the woman lying on the floor, ready to get up until JJ pounced on her. I'll tell you, those Rampone's are something special."
"That they are." Carli agreed.
BACK WITH ALEX AND TOBIN.
"Um Alex. I think I can answer that." Tobin started. Tobin explained the whole situation with the texts, and everything that had been going on for the last week.
"Why didn't you tell anyone?"
"Well, I didn't want anybody to get hurt. I guess my plan didn't work. Actually, she threatened to do worse if I told anybody, and since she bugged us, she would've known. So it is better that I didn't tell anyone."
"I guess."
"I'm really sorry this happened Alex. It's my fault."
"No it's not. It's not your fault your so damn hot that everyone wants you." Alex said with a smirk.
"Not until your head and nose are healed baby." Tobin said. "Plus we're in a hospital."
There was a knock on the door, and Alex quivered at the sound. "Who is it?" Tobin called.
"Ali"
"Come on in!"
"Hi guys! Good to see you awake again, Al. How are you?"
"Alright."
"Tobs?"
"My thighs and abs are all stitched up from where the belt cut me, but other than that I'm fine."
"That's good. Cap wanted me to ask if it was Ok that the girls come to see you?"
"Yeah, we've been hoping that they would."
"Great I'll let her know. get your rest now guys!" Ali laughed.
ALI AND CAP'S CONVO
"Hey Cap! Alex and Tobin said they'd love some visitors. So would Ash."
"Great, I called coach and told her everything I knew. She's on her way along with Dawn."
"Great. I'm sure everyone can fill her in when she gets here."
"The rest of the team is loading onto the bus and coming, as well."
"Great see you in a few."
Ali was able to pull a few strings, and get Alex, Ash, and Tobin moved into a corner room, so the team could visit at once. And by pulling strings, I mean she showed the nurse her driver's license, that proved she was Ali Krieger, and worked that Krieger magic. They were all sitting together when Rylie and Reece came in.
"Hey Aunt Alex!" Reece greeted. "Are you ok?" She asked giving her a big hug.
"I'm ok, girl."
"Hey Aunt Alex, hey Aunt Tobin." Rylie greeted.
"Hey Ry." Tobin said. "Girls, Alex and I want to thank you. Rylie, you showed Alex the Find My iPhone, and you basically found me. Then when the woman came in and hurt Alex, you stepped into gear. You reminded me of a certain captain we know."
"Mommy!" Reece stepped in.
"That's the one kiddo! Anyways, Reece when you listened to Rylie and went and got help, you saved the day."
"Just like a superhero." She said in awe that Ali was right. She was a superhero.
"Yes, just like a superhero. And Rylie, that was some of the quickest thinking, and bravest moves I've ever seen. You saved me, Ryan, and Alex for sure, and you probably saved yourself and your sister."
"We love you girls," Alex stepped in. "that is why we want to take you girls out for the day. Just the four of us, and we'll do whatever you guys want. And we mean whatever."
"Really?" Reece and Rylie's faces lit up.
"Really. Thank you girls. We owe you everything."
Once the entire team was in the room, everyone involved was collectively able to get the whole story out from beginning to end. Tobin and Alex had to make a few court appearances, but eventually, there was enough video, audio, and textual evidence to convict them to life in prison. Reece and Rylie took Alex and Tobin on an adventure as their treat, and they only ran them just short of $500, but they were worth it. Alex is still barely able to hear a knock on a door without cringing, but everyone is back to playing form, and the USWNT is more dynamic than ever. Rylie and Reece hadn't saved this team. Rylie and Reece saved this family.
Nobody could see Tobin and not think, "What if we lost you, Tobs?"
