The volleyball club was taking a break from practice and ___, a manager of the club, was talking to Bokuto, her best friend, while stretching.
While she raised her arms, Bokuto realised that there was a scar, and quite a big one, at the bottom part of ___'s back.
"Hey ___, how'd you get that?" Bokuto pointed to the scar and asked.
She quickly covered it up and stuttered, "Uh... I-I um... It was just an insect bite but I scratched it too hard until it became a scar. Yeah, that's it!" ___ held her breath, trying to act like it was the truth.
Bokuto, being the idiot, of course, that's how others saw him, just shrugged and chose to believe ___.
"Help!"
She couldn't escape, she clawed at the walls around her, trying to find an exit.
With every pant she breathed out, the blood oozed out twice as much.
The next day, ___ and Bokuto were in her room. ___ was helping Bokuto with his studies.
"Yeah, just do these few questions and wake me up when you're done..." ___ lied down on her bed and drifted off to sleep.
Bokuto obeyed and did the following equations. He was doing quite well until the sixth question.
He was stuck. Bokuto tapped the back of the pencil against his head and tried to think of the answer. He was just about to give up and skip it when heard soft whimpers and groans beside him.
Now facing the bed, Bokuto saw ___'s perspiring form and woke her up, worried.
"You okay?"
___ jumped out of bed and nodded.
Bokuto grew suspicious but still decided to believe ___.
They tore her clothes to shreds and hung her up in chains. She gave up on life and let them do what they wanted.
They whipped and cut and hit her. But she didn't care anymore.
Bokuto thought that maybe ___ was just having a bad day and decided to take her outside to have a little walk along the streets. Do some window shopping or other stuff probably.
They were happily chatting away as they walked.
"Woah! Look ___!" ___ turned her head to the pointed direction but screamed once she saw it.
A big television showed magic tricks. The magician lit the cards up with fire.
Fire.
She shuffled a few steps back and unknowingly to her, she was crying. Tears slipped out of her eyes like a waterfall. Scared, she held onto Bokuto.
They heated the metal with the raging flames and burned her skin. It was hell, the agony she felt was just too much.
They finally threw her aside to let her rot. Though, maybe God gave her a chance in living when a lady found her and took her in.
Concerned, Bokuto carried ___ to his house and laid her on his bed since she was rooted to the ground, legs refusing to budge.
He asked her once more if she was fine.
"I'm seriously alright!"
Bokuto shook his head in disbelief and cried out, "Do you not trust me?"
___ widened her eyes. "It's not that..."
"Then?" Bokuto shouted, louder than intended but he was so worried right now that it didn't matter to him.
He held her hand to help her calm down a bit. She relaxed into his touch. "I'm not sure how you'd react though..."
"It won't change my image of you!" His eyes bored into hers.
"Alright then..."
She started explaining her past of how she got captured the torture she received.
"That's so sad! Don't worry ___, I promise that I'll protect you so that you won't get hurt anymore!" He wrapped his arms around her and cried even more due to her story.
"O-okay. Y-you're... Bokuto! Ca-can't... Breath! Pain! Let go!" ___ choked out. She slapped his chest a few times weakly in hope of him releasing her.
"Sorry!"
