Your POV
It has been five years since you left Tokyo to study abroad and now, you were back to Japan. You just wished that your childhood friends, Akashi and Midorima, still remembered you.
"I wonder where they are now? I miss them." You entered your new school which was Teiko Middle School. It will be difficult to adjust again and you just wished that they attend this school as well. Oh just how right you were.
While walking, you noticed a vibrant red hair walked by you as well as a familiar green hair. You blinked to see if it was real but they were gone.
'Nah. I must have been imagining things.' You walked towards your new class which was class 1-B and sat near the window. It was not that bad. Judging by the school facilities, you knew that this institute was a prestigious one but what excited you was their basketball team. You wanted to join as an assistant manager. You entered the teacher's lobby when you were greeted by a familiar red hair.
"(First name)." He whispered. You looked at him wide-eyed.
"Sei?" You were shocked that he still remembered you, but before anything else, you submitted your form. After that, you went outside with the red emperor.
"I can't believe that you're here, Sei! It's been five years!" You grinned. He chuckled at your ridiculousness before asking what you had been up to ever since you moved out of Japan.
"I've been polishing my skills! I think I got better from the last time you and Midorima played with me." You boasted. He smirked.
"Say, you're here so does that mean that Shin is here?" You said trying to change the subject. He nodded and told you that he was in Class 1-C. Surprise was evident in your eyes, but you wondered why you never saw him.
"He must have left early."
You two talked about things until the bell rang. It made you smile that you were back to normal and that you met him again. You told him everything and that he was expecting you later at the gym. While thinking about him, you bumped into somebody.
"Oof! I'm sorry!"
"I should be sorry su~" You looked at the person and noticed his eyes. They were unusual golden yellow eyes. You quickly apologized and went back to class. The guy you bumped unto was still in daze especially when he looked at your vibrant eyes.
After class, you went to the gym as promised and you were happy with the news that two of your childhood friends were there! You greeted Midorima which shocked him. He gave you a pat on the head and that made you smile lightly. You see, you were like his sister so he was glad that you were back. Your little adventure started here.
You met Aomine and Murasakibara, as well as Kuroko who was still in the third string. Most of the time, you spent it with Akashi and Midorima while some with Momoi. Since you were accepted as an assistant manager, the two of you would help each other. All your work were put to success. You were happy that they were really working hard and that you could see that Akashi was enjoying himself.
"Good work everyone! I've got your water. Here." You offered.
"Thanks, (First name)." One of the player said.
"You're welcome."
You grew closer with Akashi and in no time, you started to have feelings for the red emperor. You did not want him to know since you were afraid that your friendship will never be the same. You just smiled genuinely whenever you were with him.
Kise, on the other hand, was still unto you. Ever since he met you, he was dying hard to see a glimpse of your face again. A year had passed and he was amazed with a certain basketball play from yours truly, Aomine Daiki. He decided that he would try this team out. At the same time, Kuroko Tetsuya was promoted to first string. You were glad and you saw that Akashi was as well. You walked towards the second string board and saw a familiar mob of blonde hair.
'Isn't he?'
"Ah! (First name)-chan!" Momoi called.
"Sa-chan? Who's that?" You said as you pointed at the blonde player.
"He's Kise Ryota. He's good isn't he?" Momoi complimented him. You were interested because of the way he moved.
"Yeah but those moves are familiar. He's like Haizaki on a different level." You pointed out. She was surprised with your deduction skills.
"Woah! It's the same with what Akashi said!" She grinned.
"Sei?" She nodded. After their practice, the blonde saw you and so, he introduced himself. You were smiling throughout which made him blush but you did not notice it for you were thinking of tons of things. Suddenly, you received a text from Akashi.
"I'm sorry, Kise-san, but I'm being summoned. Later!" You uttered.
You reached the place and there stood Akashi. You laughed at how tired he looked so he glared at you. You just shrugged it off and helped him out.
"You want a massage?" You offered.
"Later." He answered.
"Kise's new?" You asked.
"Yeah."
"What's this Sei? A single-word question and answer portion?" You sweatdropped at his away of answering you.
"Maybe." You lightly whacked his head. He glared at you, but you gave him a dead stare.
"Your fault." You ran away. He decided not to chase you and just laugh at your childishness. This was what he loved about you.
Days passed by, and Kise was now part of the first string. Akashi was appointed as captain and you were still the same but you could not help the feelings that blossomed for a certain person.
When Kise was promoted to the first string, he kept on clinging to you. The others could see that the red emperor was getting annoyed by this. You did not notice this, but Midorima could see it better and that was Akashi's having feelings for you.
"Kise. Stop clinging to her and go to practice." Akashi reprimanded.
"Hai su~"
Akashi stood beside you and you thanked him. He just smiled lightly and patted your head. Everyone could see that he really has fallen for you. However, it did not go well because as time passed by, Kise started to make his move. He would always pursue you and ask you to have a date with him. Of course, you would always reject him. Akashi saw this and he started to distance himself. You noticed this and you tried to talk to him. There were times when he was not answering. It made you sad, so instead you asked him to go home with you. Searching for him was not a problem, but what you heard was trouble.
"Kise. I know you like (First name) but remember that she's mine." Akashi uttered.
"Yours? But I don't see it that way! I still have a chance."
"I've known her ever since she was a toddler therefore I have the right."
"We'll see about that." When you heard them walk, you quickly hid somewhere. When you saw that they were gone, you looked for the emperor but hearing those words made you nervous.
'I'm his?'
Instead of you finding Akashi, you were found by Kise who clung to you like a Koala. You tried to pry him off but he would not budge. Akashi saw this the other way around and for the first time in his life, he doubted his words. Once you were able to escape the blonde player, you looked for the emperor and found him by the bench. You went to him and felt his gloomy atmosphere.
"Did somebody die?" You joked which failed.
"(First name)." You asked him why he was sitting alone. He wanted to think things through. You raised your eyebrow in confusion and asked him to go home together. Sighing, he just agreed.
You two were walking in silence when you decided to break it. You told him everything and the shocking thing that he did was that he grabbed your arm and locked you in his arms.
"I like you. Ever since we met. You were so different." He confessed. A blush marred your face and you could not do anything but listen to his speech.
"It's been 5 years but I want to know you more. After you left, I—be my empress."
"Sei. Hahaha. You have a weird way in confessing. I heard everything and I don't think I could even think of another. You were always there. You always make me smile. That's why, yes." He smiled which made you blush madly. He inched closer until your lips touched. It was such a sweet and gentle kiss. Since this was solved now, all that was left was to tell Kise everything. You know that it will hurt but you were sure that someday, he will find that right one.
The next day, when Kise tried to cling to you but he was stopped by Akashi. You laughed nervously and made an eye contact with Akashi telling him that you'll be the one to handle it.
"I'm sorry Kise but I can't return your feelings." You confessed.
"Is it because of Akashicchi?"
"Yeah but I'm sure that you'll find the right person."
"Before you go, can I at least have a hug?" You smiled softly and hugged him. Akashi saw this but in another way.
You bade him goodbye and looked for the emperor but he ignored you. You finally pulled him in and asked him what was wrong. He told you that he saw you hugging Kise. You laughed silently and told him not to worry because she was only his. No one else. Akashi smirked and lifted your chin. He kissed you lightly but after that, he told you something which made you blush hard.
"Because you made me feel this way, you should receive a punishment. I'll be your everything remember that." He kissed you again but this time, it was full of love and passion. A side you never knew of him.
