Lily and Jay half ran-half leaped down the stairs, trekking back to the kitchen again. They sat at the bar stools. Jay took a swig of her 7th Piña Colada. Lily kept her eyes on Viktor, listening intently to his incessant talking, hanging on his every word like it would be his last.
Jay leaned over to Lily. "He's like the thing that wouldn't shut up," she whispered.
Viktor turned around and Lily punched Jay's arm so he couldn't see. "Be nice, this is my mate you're talking about."
"I hope my mate doesn't talk this much," Jay took a drink. "Or I'll have to keep a savings account for all the duct tape I'll have to buy to keep him quiet."
Lily giggled, rolling her eyes and shoving Jay playfully with her shoulder. "Shut up."
Viktor turned back around. He rubbed his arm nervously. "Umm... You're Lily, right?"
"Yes, I am."
"Well, you already know me, but my name is Viktor.."
"Yeah, I know."
"Lily, if it'd be okay with you, I'd like to date you," He smiled nervously, looking at the floor. "If.. The feeling us mutual..."
