"I'm sorry we didn't tell you, Jaybird, we just didn't want you to be stressed out about it." Jay's mom said.

"Don't you 'Jaybird' me! You should've told me!"

"I'm sorry, honey, but we aren't going to tell you everything."

"You might wanna tell me everything pack related so I know what's going."

"I'm sorry, Jay," her dad said. "But at least you know now."

"Yeah, that's great," Jay retorted. She stalked away, grabbing her keys from the hook and slipping on her sunglasses.

"Where are you going?"

"Taking Baby for a ride," she said, opening the door and leaving. "Because she never lies to me."

Jay went to her car, unlocking it and opening the driver side door. She slid into the seat, sighing. She gently tapped the steering wheel. "Hey, Baby. Wanna take a ride?" She turned the key in the ignition, closing her eyes as the Impala started up.
