That is all.

Chapter Sixty-Five
When I woke up the next morning, we had definitely moved a bit. Elijah was laying down with his head on the armrest. And I was laying right on top of him.
Our legs were entangled together, and my upper body was laid out on his chest. Not just that, though. I had my right arm overtop of his waist, and he had his arm around mine. It was like we had been hugging each other in our sleep.
I slowly moved off of him, struggling to get off the couch without waking him up.
I climbed off of him, and jumped onto the floor, stumbling a little. But I was all good, and stood up straight. However, it seemed that I wasn't quiet enough, because when I looked back at him, he was watching me with that sly smile of his that I knew so well.
"Sorry," I sighed. "I tried not to wake you up."
"Not to worry," he said, sitting up with a slight grunt as he did so then sending me a soft smirk. "It's quite amusing seeing you dance around like that."
I narrowed my eyes playfully at him. "Well, anyway, thanks for the help last night."
He nodded to me. "Of course."
I sent him a soft smile, then went to my room and tried to find some kind of clothing that wasn't pajamas. When I was finished, I went downstairs, and was met by Hayley at the bottom of the steps.
"Did you and Elijah have a nice night?" She asked, seeming almost unable to contain her excitement.
"You saw?" I asked, feeling my cheeks begin to redden.
"All of us did," she smirked. "Klaus went in to tell you about the moonstones, then told me to come up and see. You two looked pretty comfortable."
I shrugged. "Neither if us could get to sleep alone, I guess."
"But you could fall asleep together?" She asked, and I nodded. "So out of anyone in this building, he was the one that brought you comfort. What does that tell you?"
I didn't have the opportunity to reply, because Klaus and Elijah came down the stairs behind me.
"Ah, Rose," Klaus said with a sly grin. "I'm glad that you got the rest you needed."
Elijah sighed, while I rolled my eyes.
"You two are insufferable," I said to Klaus and Hayley, then turned and walked to the kitchen with their laughter in the background.
Well, at least they got along when teasing me.
*
I didn't see Hayley around until a few hours later when she walked up to me in the hallway, a worried expression on her face. "Rose, do you know where Jackson and Oli are?"
"Are they not back yet?" I asked her, raising a brow.
"No," she said, shaking her head. "They should've come back by now, but they aren't in the bayou or here, and they're not answering their phones either."
I bit my lip, then nodded. "Elijah!" I called out, and he walked out into the hallway. "We have a small problem."
We both explained our current predicament to him, and then we walked into the study. He called Klaus, and his brother answered with his signature annoyed tone. "Yes, brother, what is it?"
"It appears our wolves have gone astray, brother," Elijah said.
"They should've been back hours ago," Hayley added in.
"We need to find them," Elijah told Klaus.
"Well, that might be a bit tricky. You see, we've located their car on a back road in the middle of nowhere," Klaus said. "I suspect they've been shanghaied."
"Seriously? Why didn't you tell us?" I asked Klaus, becoming slightly annoyed.
"It was my intention to present you with the problem only after I'd found an appropriate solution," Klaus replied.
"Well, do enlighten us," Elijah said.
"I'm closing in on it as we speak," Klaus said, and I could practically see him smirking. "The only person who would be bold enough to snatch my wolf allies would be the one who has the most to lose," he said.
"Marcel," Elijah stated, a look of realization appearing on his face.
"No, he'll kill them," Hayley said, getting increasingly worried.
"Genevieve assures me that Marcel has procured a cloaking spell," Klaus said. "The only witch who will aid Marcel is Davina. I just need to get one last pit of leverage before I pay her a visit... And there it is," he said happily, then hung up the phone before I could tell him that if he laid a finger on Davina, I would tear him apart.
We stayed and waited for him to call back, and he eventually did. He said that they were in a warehouse at the docks, Thierry's place. Genevieve had come over at Klaus' request, which made Elijah quite angry.
"I'll stay here with Hayley," Genevieve said.
"And I'll stay here with the both of you," I said, narrowing my eyes at her.
She had helped me just a day before... But I still didn't trust her, and neither did Hayley. Unfortunately, she didn't take the hint. She didn't want to leave.
Elijah and I walked out into the hallway, and he turned back to me. "I don't trust her," he said. "She will help us, yes, but I don't trust her at all."
"Don't worry, neither do I. I'll stay here, and you can go help Klaus. Marcel won't stand a chance against the both of you," I assured him.
He sighed, then nodded to me. "Stay safe, Roseia. I'll be back soon."
He left soon after, and I was stuck with a nervous werewolf/mother-to-be, and a witch that I can't stand.
Delightful.
While she may be my arch nemesis, I could admit that Genevieve definitely knew her stuff in terms of what Hayley should and should not do while she is so close to being pregnant.
"The treatment of pregnant women has advanced remarkably since I was a nurse, but even I know high blood pressure is bad for you and your baby," she said as Hayley sat down on the couch with a defeated expression. "Especially now that you're so close to term."
"I hate this," she frowned. "I feel completely useless."
"Believe me, Hayles, you're the opposite of useless," I laughed, and she sent a soft smile to me.
"Don't you get it?" Genevieve asked, causing us both to turn to her. "You're the point of all this. Klaus and Elijah running all over town... It's all for you. I'm a bit envious."
"Great," Hayley muttered. "Lucky me."
"Is there anything I can get you?" Genevieve asked, trying not to show her annoyance.
She failed miserably.
"How about a moonlight ring?" Hayley asked.
"The spell can't be performed until the full moon reaches it's apex, and of course, I need the stones, which will be here soon enough. Have a little faith."
Hayley and I both sighed, then we got up and left the room, leaving Genevieve behind.
"They should be back by now," Hayley said.
I nodded. "Perhaps we should call them..."
Hayley pulled out her phone and put it on speaker as she called Elijah. He answered after the first two rings, and Hayley immediately asked him what was going on.
"Jackson is fine," Elijah said.
"Are you alright?" I asked, but Elijah didn't answer.
"Well, that doesn't bode well," I heard Klaus say faintly on the other end of the line.
"Are you trying to kill us?!" Jackson shouted.
"Elijah, tell us what's going on, now!" Hayley said.
"This is for Thierry," Klaus said. He appeared to be reading off a note.
And, a moment later, Hayley almost dropped the phone. There were extremely loud sounds coming from the other line, then it cut out completely. Something had exploded. Marcel had left bombs.
"Oh my god..." Hayley whispered.
"They'll be fine," I said, almost as a way of reassuring myself instead of her. "They're always fine."
But even then, I had my doubts. I just didn't tell her about them.
