After their playful arguing, Taehyung and Jungkook ended up sitting far apart on the plane to New York. Taehyung got a seat by the left window, and Jungkook sat by the right window. Even though they were separated, they still managed to exchange glances and occasional glares. The only person who really felt the effect of their antics was Soo. Being the niece, she was stuck in the middle, getting lots of attention and cheek kisses from both her uncles during the whole flight.
Despite the occasional glares between Taehyung and Jungkook, Soo's laughter and joy filled the space around them, making the long trip to New York a lot more bearable and fun.
Taehyung could not help but roll his eyes upon seeing his lovely husband had gotten out of the plane without bothering to even grab his cabin luggage. "It's not solved yet?" Taehyung turned when he heard Yoongi. He shook his head and pulled the luggage along. "Oh, is that why my daughter's cheeks are red in color?" Yoongi asked. With a nervous grin, Taehyung gently scratched his neck. "If you wanted to kiss him, you should have kissed him directly." Yoongi chapped his lips and walked ahead, leaving Taehyung embarrassed.
As the family waved at Jimin's family waiting to welcome them at the airport, a warm exchange of smiles and greetings ensued. They extended heartfelt inquiries about the journey and shared a few whereabouts of their own adventures since they last met. With laughter filling the air, they led the way to the waiting cars, eager to embark on the journey home together.
"Woah." Jungkook's mouth hung opened when he saw the brunnet standing near a black BMW. "Hyung. Is that your hyung?" Jungkook whispered to Jimin, by carefully holding the baby stroller, with his eyes not leaving the handsome ahead. "Mm." Jimin hummed and rushed ahead to embrace his elder brother.
As Jungkook's eyes met Jimin's brother's gaze, he quickly averted his gaze, pretending to be focused on fixing a nonexistent stray hair, all the while trying to hide the subtle blush creeping up his cheeks. "Jungkook," Jimin's brother greeted warmly, his smile infectious as he extended his hand for a handshake. Jungkook hesitated for a moment, his hand hovering uncertainly in the air, before he finally mustered to reciprocate the gesture.
But before their hands could clasp together, Taehyung swooped in with his trademark boxy smile, grabbing Jimin's brother's hand in a firm shake. "Hey, Kan!" Taehyung's voice boomed, filled with genuine excitement. Jungkook huffed slightly at his husband's tactic interruption, but he managed to give a polite smile. "Hey, Tae," Jimin's brother replied, his smile never faltering as he pulled Taehyung into a tight hug, which was reciprocated with warmth.
"Come. Come. Let's talk at home." Jimin's brother invited them to the car. Jungkook nodded and was about to get inside the car, when he felt an elbow nudging his waist. "I have seen that fluttering and red hue. Make sure to prepare a two page explanation for that." Taehyung held the door open for Jungkook to settle inside the car before he, himself took the passenger seat besides Kan.
Jungkook wiped invisible sweats in his neck, when he felt that cold stare from the person sitting in the passenger seat.
As they reached Jimin's home, they met with rest of the family members. "Jungkook, right?" Jungkook looked at Taehyung in confusion when a lady in early 30s greeted him with a wide smile. "Kan's wife." Taehyung said as he gently placed his hand on Jungkook's waist. "Oh. Yes. Now I remember." Jungkook said and smiled. "We haven't met yet, right?" she asked. Jungkook nodded with a smile. "But you are always in our family talks." Jungkook raised his eyebrows in confusion after hearing that. "Jimin used to tell." She said. "Ah." Jungkook replied. "Mm. Go and take some rest. We will talk later." she said. Jungkook nodded and was about to grab his luggage but before that Kan took it. "I will carry it. Don't worry." Kan said. Jungkook squirmed a little nervously when he felt a dominant squeeze on his waist. "Tae." Jungkook whispered in his ears. Quickly trying to hide his possessiveness, Taehyung grinned at the entire family.
"Come. Come. I will show the respective rooms. Please settle down like your own home, Taehi." With a warm smile, Mrs. Park said. "Yes. That's right." Mr Park also assured them as he led Mr Kim to their room, while Mrs Park and Jimin escorted the rest of the family.
Kan placed the luggage he was carrying on the floor as Jungkook and Taehyung entered the guest room. "If you need anything, do not hesitate to call us." He stated, glancing around the room to make sure everything was in its proper place. "Oh, okay." Taehyung replied and stared at him when he found his gaze lingering on Jungkook a little more. Meanwhile Jungkook was busy checking something in his handbag. "Then. Take rest." he said before heading out.
Taehyung closed the door as Kan walked out of the room. He walked to Jungkook and grabbed his bicep, causing Jungkook to turn around. "Ah. What?" Jungkook asked when he felt that unexpected tug. "Do you think he is more handsome than me?" Taehyung asked. "Not handsome. He is very masculine." Jungkook replied with a playful nod. "Really?" Taehyung asked, raising his voice a little more to intimidate him. "Definitely." Jungkook batted his lashes and pushed him and went to the washroom.
As Jungkook walked out of the restroom, he noticed Taehyung laying on the bed while scrolling through his phone. "I didn't like him." Taehyung murmured to no-one particularly, but Jungkook immediately caught the possessive in his voice. "Is it because hyung helped me to carry the luggage?" Jungkook asked. "Hyung? Don't call him that." Taehyung through his phone on the bed. Jungkook giggled as a response. "He is ten years older than me. So, what shall I call him? Oppa?" Jungkook asked and moved backward when he saw how Taehyung stretched his hand to grab his. "I will kill him then." Taehyung said, rubbing his chin by calling Jungkook with his palm. "Can you keep your possessive a.. away for some days?" Jungkook threw the towel at him and gestured for him to take a shower, but Taehyung grab his wrist tighly and pulled him to his chest. Jungkook slightly shifted his body and laid straight and comfortably in the bed before titling his head to see Taehyung, who was lying side wise, fiddling with Jungkook's shirt button.
"And see, he is Jimin hyung's brother. Thus, he will be a respectable gentleman." Jungkook continued the conversation. "Really? Yeonjun was my brother, your brother in law." Taehyung shook his head hearing Jungkook's lame reason and parted his shirt to either sides before folding and caressing his left b...bies. Jungkook pouted when he heard that. "Nuna is way more beautiful." Jungkook laid another reason and titled his head by biting his lower lips, when Taehyung gave a hard s.ck on his n...ple. "Oh. Jennie Nuna's sister in law was even more beautiful than her. But still, Juno tried to misbehave with you." Taehyung said, rubbing his nose on the erected bud with his nose. Jungkook chapped his lips and kept quiet.
"Mm?" Taehyung lifted his gaze to Jungkook's face when he didn't receive any other comments. "Then?" He asked, squeezing it a little. "Hmm.' Jungkook pouted again. "So, you are telling they are more beautiful than me?" Jungkook asked with an arched eyebrow. "No. What I am saying is that your justification for trusting others are feeble and immature." Taehyung responded. "Oh, what a mature and brilliant husband, I have." Jungkook pushed him aside and sat up and started to button up his shirt. "Anyways, I am better than you." Taehyung stood up and grabbed the towel. "Yes. When I am sleeping." Jungkook said with a giggle, when Taehyung bit his cheeks before heading to the washroom with a wide grin.
After Taehyung had taken a shower, they went to join others for a family dinner.
"Is the function happening here?" Mr Kim asked, as he munched on the dinner. "Yeah. At home itself. There." Mr Park replied by pointing out the neighborhood. "Oh. We.. We are not attending it. You know, it's not been one year since.. Mmm.." Mr Kim paused gently. "Yes. I can understand. You all came here and that's our biggest happiness." Mr Park replied with a wide smile.
As the last bite of dessert vanished from their plates, the room filled with a contented silence. With satisfied smiles, the family members leaned back in their chairs as the conversation shifted seamlessly to the topic of the newest additions to their family tree: the babies.
"Mm. I know it's not even time to ask this. But, are you.. Mm.. Considering a new life for Seojoon?" the question shifted the entire atmosphere in the dining room, leaving an awkward silence to hang in the air. Mrs Kim looked at Mr Kim before her eyes settled on Seojoon. "Mm. I.. I have a call to attend." Seojoon stood up with an excuse and left the conversation.
"Don't know. It's something he should decide, right?" Mrs Kim said after some time. "Mm. I know, but still. Don't you think babies deserve a complete family? Even though Jungkook and Jimin are there and will definitely look after the kids like their own, still." Mrs Park asked. "Mm. I understood. But.. I don't know. We haven't thought about it." Mrs Kim said after glancing at his son-in-laws.
"Actually why I asked is because, mm.. We have a proposal. It's her family." Mrs Park said, carefully after studying each face. Everyone looked at Mrs Park and then at Kan's wife who nodded gently to assure her mother-in-law to proceed further. "Don't make any decisions soon. Just consider it and think. Anyways the final decision is on Seojoon." She said. Mrs Kim hummed.
"It's her cousin. She is a really polite young lady. Only child for her parents. Both gorgeous and well-educated. Above all, she adores children." Mrs Park said. "Oh." Mrs Kim replied. "You might have known her. She is a reputable model." After hearing the word model, Taehyung titled his head to listen to the rest of the conversation intently. "Model? Will it match, though? You know we have kids at home, also our Seo has married once." Mrs Kim said, hesitantly. "Oh. It's completely fine for them. As I said, she loves kids and she, asked if I could talk to you all. I did tell Jimin once, but I do not think he told anyone else." Mrs. Park stated. Yoongi looked at Jimin, who immediately lowered his gaze. "Oh. It's fine." Mrs Kim said. "Aunty, you said she is a model. Can I know the name? I might have known." Taehyung said. "Ah. Yes. You might, she works with all front land photographers and reputed brands. Her name is mm.. Lisa. Lisa, do you know?" Jungkook's chopstick suddenly slipped from his grasp. It tumbled down, striking the edge of his porcelain plate with a sharp clink, a sound so clear and unexpected that it carved a moment of silence through the room. Taehyung's eyes turned towards him, a mild concern in his gaze.
