It was a fairly warm day. The sun was high in the sky, and Jeff was lying on a deck chair watching the water in the pool next to him. He liked to stay and watch the water ripple over the surface; it gave him a strong sense of calmness. He had spent so much of his life running away from his secrets and problems that he had forgotten how pleasant it was to sit and do nothing and finally not feel that agitation inside anymore.
-I brought you some juice- Alan approached.
As soon as he heard his voice, Jeff raised his head slightly and smiled at him, taking the glass he was handing him. Then, Jeff made room for him on the lawn chair by crossing his legs and letting Alan sit with him as well.
-I've noticed that you like being in this place the last few days- Alan made this observation.
-Yeah, I like it...I finally feel at peace, I guess. Before, I could never be at peace, I couldn't sit still and do nothing. I had to study or work, or even watch TV or sleep. But I couldn't sit still and do nothing without all those things coming back to me-.
Jeff said those things very quietly, and Alan was really happy about it. In recent times Jeff had finally been able to open up more to him and was able to say whatever was on his mind without worry. Alan saw this as a big step forward.
-Well, then from now on I'll know where to find you- Alan joked and leaned in to kiss him on the lips gently.

-Let me...- a sigh, almost inaudible.
Jeff opened his eyes to look around. One moment he was kissing Alan and now...it was cold and dark all around him.
-Ahahah...-a distant laugh.
Jeff took a few steps forward. The darkness began to thin but it was still impossible to make out where he was. He took another step but stopped immediately as soon as he felt something under his shoes. He knelt down but at that sight he fell backward...his shoes were stained with blood...there were bloodstains everywhere. He could not look away. A sudden scream, however, brought him back to his senses; people he could not see began to scream...Jeff took his head in his hands...enough...enough...stp it!

Jeff pushed Alan in front of him pulling away from the kiss and starting to breathe heavily and with his eyes open wide.
-Jeff...- Alan was totally shocked. What had he done wrong?
The omega still did not look him in the eye, but stared at a spot in front of him.
-Jeff, are you all right?- the alpha asked him worriedly.
Alan shook him slightly.
-I...I...- Jeff stared at him unable to put into words what he had seen.
-Did I do anything...- Alan began to ask.
-No!- Jeff snapped to his feet -you didn't do anything...it's just that...it's just that...-
-It's just that...- Alan repeated.
-Alan...I can't...I have to...- Jeff began to look around worriedly as if searching for something.
What were those images? Usually the visions he had in the past were short scenes and not too detailed...this time, however, it was as if he had really been in that place...as if he had really heard those screams and really smelled that smell of blood...it all seemed so real...yet he knew nothing...that vision had told him nothing...whose blood was that? And those screams? He had not been able to see anyone or anything that could tell him who might be involved and especially when this would happen...
-Jeff, calm down...- Alan took his head in his hands and looked him straight in the eyes -what did you see?-
-You...do you know? I don't recall telling you about it before...-
-Well, I've known about it for a while. Charlie told me about it a few months ago, and actually you mentioned something yourself a long time ago-
Thinking about it, Jeff immediately remembered the time. several months earlier, when he had talked to Alan about it. They hadn't really discussed it, he had just mentioned something to him. That's why he didn't remember it.
-Well...I don't know what I saw...there was blood...and screaming...and it was all dark...then someone laughed...it was scary...-
-Okok, take it easy, all right? We're okay, right?-
Jeff nodded.
-I have to call Charlie...if anything happens to him...though...- Jeff thought about it. He didn't know whether to tell Alan or not.
-Though...?-
-Usually, the visions I see tell me about the future of the person I am touching...so you...-
Alan said nothing for a while, then smiled.
-But, I'm fine now, see? Everything will be all right. I'll be careful, I promise. Your visions...have they always come true before? -
-Yes...always...-
-But it's not certain that anything will happen to me. You said it. You didn't see anyone and you didn't see me. Jeff, I'm going to be okay. If it's like you said and there's nothing we can do to stop it, then there's no use worrying about it. We don't even know how long before it will happen...Okay? Now I want you to smile again, okay?- Alan hugged him tightly and continued to reassure him by whispering that everything would be okay. Eventually, Jeff calmed down and slightly let go of Alan's embrace.
-I don't want anything to happen to you...-
-Not going to happen and besides, I have a boyfriend who predicts the future...nothing could happen to me-
Jeff laughed and hugged him one last time before pulling away from him.
-Be careful from now on if you go out, okay?-
-Promise-
-Okay...-

-I just want him to suffer a little, then get rid of him. Nothing is to be traced back to me, understand?-

-You will get your money, but do your job first. You will get half as soon as you get him, then I want to spend some time with him...and finally you will get the rest-

-Hi Charlie, what's going on?-
-I was wondering if you wanted to go out tonight...-
-What happened?- Jeff immediately noticed his brother's strange voice. He sounded sad.
-Babe and I had a fight and I don't know what to do tonight, I don't want to go home...-
-It's already ten o'clock at night, Charlie...-
-I know...-
Jeff heard him sighing on the other end of the phone.
-Have you been drinking?-
-What? No! I'm fine...I'm just...never mind...bye...-
-Wait...-
-...-
-I'll pick you up, tell me where you are. You can sleep here with me and Alan if you want-
-Really?
-Yes, but don't move until I'm there-.
-I love you...-
-Okok, send me the location- Jeff put the call down.
-What's going on?
-It's Charlie. He and Babe had a fight. I think he's been drinking, I don't want to leave him out there alone. Is it okay if he stays here tonight?-
-Of course. Wait, I'll go with you-
-No, stay at home-
-It's already dark, Jeff, and it's late, it could be dangerous. Besides, you're tired, I won't let you drive-
-Alan, don't worry, the place is not far. Besides you know about the vision I had...I don't want it to be related to this thing...you could get into an accident or maybe get into a fight at the bar where Charlie is, maybe the screams were coming from there, it sounded like more people-
-Who says that that wasn't a vision about yourself? Maybe it's you that's getting directly into trouble-
-Alan, I doubt it...don't worry. I'll be back in less than two hours, I promise-
-Okay...be careful-
-Always-
Alan gave him a quick kiss on the forehead before watching him disappear out the door.
