MORNING CAME FASTER THAN DIANA EXPECTED. She had been up all night, from finally being able to break Williams spell to trying to figure out what Esther is planning, sleep did not come easy.
The first thing she wanted to do this morning was talk to Elijah, he still thinks that Elena was telling him the truth about Esther not planning anything and Diana had to make sure he knew that she was lying.
She didn't have to look far because as she went to open her bedroom door Elijah was waiting outside with his hand raised to knock.
"I was just coming to find you. We have to talk." Diana said and Elijah nodded
"Yes we do." Elijah said stepping into her room and Diana closed it behind him when she turned around Elijah was holding up a burnt stick of sage. "Why would mother be burning sage?"
"It's the key ingredient to a privacy spell, it blocks vampires enhanced hearing from whatever room it's burned in." Diana said grabbing the sage out of Elijah's hand. "She must've burned it while she was speaking with Elena last night. Speaking of, Elena lied to your face. How you didn't realize I don't know, but her heartbeat rose immensely when you asked if Esther was planning anything."
"How did you know?" Elijah asked with furrowed brows, not knowing how his sister knew of their conversation
"I was cloaked. I secured my last ingredient for William's spell last night and cloaked myself so I could get to my room without people asking questions. I followed you both and listened in on the conversation because I knew she wouldn't tell you the truth." Diana revealed making Elijah clench his jaw in frustration
"Why didn't I realize?" Elijah asked himself, but of course Diana had to answer
"Because you were once again blinded by the Petrova doppelganger. Seriously Elijah, first you fell in love with that whore Tatia, then you revealed our plans to Katherine about using her in our ritual which by the way ended with a dagger in your chest, and now you've allowed Elena to take advantage of your nobility and kindness. If there's one thing all of our siblings, other than me of course, have in common is that they are easily manipulated by a pretty face. Don't let her manipulate you anymore." Diana said grabbing Elijah's hand making him look at her with hard eyes
"I'll take care of it." Elijah said as he moved to leave the room
"Need my help?" Diana asked but Elijah shook his head
"I believe I'll let Rebekah join me this time. You watch over Niklaus and Kol, don't allow them to do anything foolish." Elijah instructed
"Fine, but I don't think we should include Finn in our plans. I wouldn't put it past him to be conspiring with Esther." Diana said and Elijah nodded in agreement before leaving
Diana sighed heavily, of course the second when her life seemed to be looking up something had to happen to ruin it. But one thing she knows is that she will not allow this hiccup to delay her getting William back.
Walking downstairs she found Kol and Klaus sitting in the living room. Klaus was sketching something making Diana smile softly, glad to see him working on his art again.
"Good morning." Diana said gaining their attention as she moved to sit next to Klaus on the couch
"Good morning Diana." They greeted
"Sleep well?" Klaus asked noticing the tiredness in his sisters eyes
"Not at all." Diana said before noticing the concerned looks she was receiving. "Just the excitement about William's spell."
"Good ole William, it'll be nice having him back." Kol spoke with a hum
When Diana and William got married she was so happy with how well William got on with her siblings. Him, Klaus, and Elijah had grown up together and were already best friends but then Kol and Rebekah got to know him during the engagement they quickly formed a siblings relationship. Finn was not interested in forming a bond with William, as he saw himself in a more paternal role he felt he didn't need to worry about having a relationship with him.
So when William was taken away it wasn't just Diana who was hurt, they all were.
"Yes it will." Klaus smiled wrapping his arm around Diana's shoulders
Before they could talk anymore, Rebekah stumbled into the room still in her dress from last night looking incredibly disheveled.
"Well, well, well, there's our girl!" Kol exclaimed as he stood up and teasingly stepped in Rebekah's way
"Get out of my way, Kol." Rebekah huffed in frustration
"Out all night. What a scandal! I trust you did better than that commoner? Matt, was it?" Kol teased making Diana grimace, hoping her sister didn't stoop that low
"If you don't shut your mouth, the next thing to come out of it will be your teeth." Rebekah threatened making Kol smile in amusement
Diana look at her sister suspiciously before noticing the way she refused to make eye contact with her.
"Please don't tell me it was someone from the Mystic Falls gang." Diana begged and Rebekah just looked away confirming her suspicions making Diana groan
Klaus chuckled at Diana's reaction and Rebekah pointed at him threateningly.
"Don't start, Nik!" Rebekah huffed
"I didn't say anything." Klaus held his hands up in surrender
"I'm bored. Our sister is a strumpet, but at least she's having fun. I need entertainment." Kol groaned making Diana look at him in amusement
"What are you waiting for? Go on, have at it." Klaus waved him off
"It's not fun to go alone. Join me, Nik! It's the least you can do after sticking a dagger in my heart." Kol tilted his head trying to guilt trip their older brother
"He's got a point." Diana shrugged making Klaus sigh
"Okay. Why not? I didn't have nearly enough to drink last night, what with you trying to murder Rebekah's date." Klaus told Kol and kissed Diana's forehead before getting up to leave with him
"Yes, please go, this house has enough men rolling around it in." Rebekah waved them off
"Just like you, Bekah." Kol fired back making Diana laugh as Rebekah threw her shoe at him
"Good riddance, both of you!" Rebekah exclaimed before turning to look at her sister. "Don't you start teasing me too."
"Don't worry, I have other things I need to do. You need to find Elijah, there is some stuff going on that he will explain to you." Diana said making Rebekah look at her with furrowed brows
"What stuff?" Rebekah asked and Diana sighed hoping that Rebekah would believe her
"Esther is planning something against us, I don't know exactly what it is yet but to be safe I cast a protection spell over us all last night." Diana said and Rebekah looked at her with wide eyes
"Are you sure?" Rebekah asked clenching her jaw and Diana nodded
"I'm sure. Elijah and I have a plan, you just need to trust us." Diana said and Rebekah nodded
"I do trust you. What about Finn?" Rebekah asked knowing that the oldest sibling was a wild card when it came to their mother
"We can't tell him anything, there's a good chance that he'd run to Esther and we can't take that chance." Diana shook her head and Rebekah sighed
"Why can't we just have normal parents?" Rebekah asked and Diana shot her a sad smile, wondering the same thing

Diana had just arrived at the grill to keep an eye on her brothers when Elijah had texted her saying that Esther had linked all of the siblings together and planned on killing all of them, to undo the evil she created.
It took everything in her to keep from tracking their mother down and killing her then and there, but something stopped her.
It is going to take a large spell for Esther to succeed in killing them, which means that Diana can use this to her advantage. Her protection spell is strong, it will block out whatever Esther tries to do to them. In the meantime, Diana can use Esther's spell to jumpstart her own and finally bring William back.
Diana called Elijah to let him know about her plan, and for it to work they had to let Esther continue on with the spell.
"Hello sister." Elijah answered
"Lijah, this is going to sound crazy but we need to let Esther do the spell." Diana said and she could hear Elijah sigh
"And why should we allow her to continue on with a spell meant to kill us all?" Elijah asked
"Because she won't succeed. The protection spell I placed on us is strong so whatever she does will not affect us. This is going to be a large spell which means." Diana started but Elijah interrupted her
"You can use it to break the spell placed on William." Elijah finished in realization
"Yes. It feels like this is all happening for a reason, it can't be a coincidence that the second after I finish collecting all the ingredients I need we learn about Esther's plans. I have to do this Elijah, I need him." Diana said and Elijah nodded through the phone
"You've been without William for far too long, you deserve this. Mother is using the Bennett bloodline as her power source, I'm on my way to the Salvatore's now. If we want this to work we have to make them believe that we don't want the spell to happen." Elijah said and Diana nodded in agreement
"Right, we don't want them to get suspicious. Is Rebekah handling Elena?" Diana asked knowing her sister wouldn't hesitate to torture the girl
"As we speak." Elijah said
"Alright. Keep me posted, I'm heading inside the grill now." Diana said opening the front door
"I will, be careful." Elijah instructed
"You too." Diana said before hanging up
Diana looked around the crowded bar immediately she spotted Alaric standing at the pool table with a woman, both of them eagerly watching her brothers who were sitting at the bar.
She walked up to the bar and sat down between her brothers and shot a sickly smile towards Alaric and the woman making them immediately look away.
"Sister! So glad of you to join us, drink?" Kol asked but Diana nodded
"What kind of question is that? Make it a double." Diana said and immediately a drink was placed in front of her. "I believe that the history teacher and his date are planning something so keep your guard up."
Klaus and Kol immediately followed Diana's line of sight and saw Alaric and his date snap their heads away from them, pretending like they were playing pool the entire time.
"And what might that be?" Klaus asked, not liking the idea of being threatened
Diana glanced around the crowded bar looking around for any potential eavesdroppers before pulling her brothers closer to her.
"Esther has linked all of us as one and plans to kill us, luckily your powerful albeit very paranoid sister thought to place a protection spell on us last night. Elijah and I have a plan, we are going to let Esther perform the spell." Diana raised her hands when her brothers went to protest, immediately making them quiet down. "My protection spell overrides Esther's, we will not be harmed. If we allow her to perform the spell I can use that power to break William's spell."
Kol and Klaus both looked surprised by their sister's revelation, not wanting to say before but they had both doubted that William would ever be reunited with them.
"And if everything fails and Esther is successful, then what?" Klaus asked and Diana rolled her eyes
"Have I ever let you down before brother?" Diana asked and Klaus looked down knowing that she had not. "This will work."
"What should be do about the Mystic Falls gang? Surly they're involved in this." Kol said and Diana nodded
"Rebekah is dealing with Elena and Elijah is taking care of the Salvatore's. We have to make it seem like we don't want Esther to do the spell, if we don't they'll get suspicious. The Bennett bloodline is who Esther is channeling which means she's using Bonnie and her mother as her living witches, but what our dear mother doesn't know is that those witches are loyal to me. I have already contacted Emily Bennett on the other side and she is ready to go along with our plan." Diana said before taking a sip of her drink
"Well aren't you our evil genius." Klaus smirked and Diana shrugged
"Someone has to make the plans around here." Diana said before getting up off her stool. "I'm going to the bathroom. Remember to keep an eye out and watch for distractions, they may use that blondie against you Nik so be careful. And Kol, just don't be a dick."
Kol looked at Diana in offense and Klaus hid his chuckle with the back of his hand while Diana just ignored them both and walked towards the bathroom.
Diana had just finished her business and was washing her hands when she felt a dull ache in her chest before it went away. Knowing that her protection spell worked and whoever was daggered healed automatically Diana quickly dried her hands and walked outside back into the bar.
Looking around she noticed both her brothers were gone making her groan, knowing the Mystic Falls gang wouldn't dagger Klaus that meant that Kol was the one they were targeting all along.
Diana quickly sped outside into the alley and saw Kol laying on the ground with the dagger laying beside him while Stefan, Damon, Alaric and the woman from inside stood around his body.
"Why didn't the dagger work? It should've worked!" Damon exclaimed and Diana chuckled
"That would be me I'm afraid." Diana said stepping out of the shadows making everyone turn to look at her
"Diana." Stefan snarled and Diana smirked
"Sorry to ruin your plans you made with mommy dearest, did you really think I wouldn't figure it all out? If Elena makes it out of this alive maybe tell her she should practice her lying skills." Diana said before speeding over and gripping the woman's throat making her gasp. "Now, I do need Esther to continue the spell for personal reasons so that's not our reason for torturing you lot anymore."
"What do you want?" Alaric asked cautiously looking at the woman in Diana's grasp
"I'm so glad you asked. I want to know where the spell is taking place, should you not tell me I'm afraid I'll be forced to kill your friend here." Diana said as Klaus finally sped into the alley immediately checking on Kol
"Sorry, that informations classified. I can't wait for your mother to finally kill all of you." Damon smirked thinking that he has the upper hand and Diana laughed making his cocky expression drop
"Damon, Damon, Damon. Your confidence is going to get everyone you care about killed someday." Diana said before snapping the woman's neck making her fall to the ground dead
"Meredith! No!" Alaric exclaimed rushing forward and pulling her into his arms
"Sorry about that love, but I'm running short on time and patience." Diana said as Klaus came to stand beside her
"You bitch." Stefan snarled stepping forward but Klaus immediately sped forward and shoved him against the wall
Damon went to help his brother but was brought to his knees when Diana gave him an aneurysm.
"I should have listened to Diana and killed you months ago." Klaus snarled but before he could do anything Elijah sped into the alley and pulled Klaus back
"Leave him! We can finish them all later after we take care of this." Elijah said before turning to look at Damon. "Tell me where the spell is taking place or I'll tell Rebekah to kill Elena right now."
"You told me we had until after nine." Damon said standing to his feet
"I'm sure Rebekah will be more than happy to start her work early." Elijah shrugged and Damon clenched his jaw
"The old witch house. That's where Bonnie and her mother are going to be. Esther is performing the spell in the yard behind the house." Damon answered
"Of course. Where the Bennett bloodline is strongest." Diana realized before looking towards Damon. "Thanks for the help. Congratulations, you get to live another day."
Diana flicked her wrist snapping Damon, Stefan, and Alaric's necks before grabbing Meredith and dropping her in front of Kol who was starting to wake up.
"Feed from her and regain your strength." Diana told Kol who immediately dug into the dead Meredith's neck, Diana then turned to Elijah and Klaus. "After he's done you three head to the witch house and distract Esther. I'm going to go collect everything I need to break the spell then I'll meet you there."
Elijah and Klaus both nodded before Klaus pulled her into a tight hug.
"Good luck." Klaus said knowing how happy she must be about finally being able to break the spell
Diana just smiled before speeding away to her car. She drove as fast as she could to their mansion and ran upstairs collecting everything she needed for William's spell before going into Elijah's room and grabbing some clothes for William, knowing that they were the same size.
As she walked back to her car Diana took a deep breath before a smile overtook her features. One thousand years of fighting to break the spell and now she's finally doing it, she's finally going to see her husband again.
Their reunion will be grand, she can't wait to catch him up on everything he's missed and introduce him to the world now. Her Vermont house sits in the back of her mind, maybe it would be best for them to go there for a while so William isn't too overwhelmed.
It would be nice to spend time together just the two of them for a while, to take a break from all the drama.
But she can't get too far ahead of herself, right now she has to worry about breaking the spell and making sure her family lives to see tomorrow.

Pulling up to the witch house, Diana could feel the magic as she walked closer and closer to the house. She could hear the whispers of the Bennett witches who were gone and on the other side, greeting her as she walked inside.
"Oh Bonnie! Come out come out wherever you are." Diana taunted as she walked deeper into the house
"What do you want Diana? You know you can't stop this, come morning you and your siblings will all be dead." Bonnie said and Diana chuckled
"I'm afraid that's not true. Aren't you curious as to why the witches aren't kicking me out?" Diana asked and Bonnie furrowed her brows looking around the room. "It's because the Bennett's are loyal to me, and they have been since I rescued the witch Marina Bennett in the 16th century from being burned at the stake."
"What?" Bonnie asked in disbelief but her mother gasped
"My grandmother told me the story of you, she said that it is our duty to help you." She said and Diana nodded
"That it is Abby. Lucky for you I still need you to perform this spell, but only so I can do my own spell." Diana admitted making Bonnie look at her confused
"Why would you allow us to continue the spell that's going to kill you all?" Bonnie asked looking at the Tribrid suspiciously
"Because I have placed a very powerful protection spell over us all, Esther's spell won't succeed. I need the spell to be done so I can finally break the spell that she placed on my husband a thousand years ago." Diana said and she could tell that Bonnie still wanted to resist her. "Let me be very clear, you do not have a choice. You are going to do what I say because if you don't I will not only kill you but I will also kill your mother."
"You wouldn't. Not here in the presence of our ancestors." Bonnie scoffed and Diana smirked
"Did you miss the part where I said they are loyal to me? That means that should you go against me you will be cast out of the Bennett bloodline, meaning that once you are on the otherside they will torment you for the rest of eternity." Diana threatened making Bonnie gulp
"We'll do it." Abby nodded ignoring the look Bonnie shot her
"Wise choice. Carry on then." Diana smiled before walking back outside
Diana walked to her car and collected the ingredients she needed for the spell before walking towards where she could see Esther standing in a pentagram with Finn standing next to her, and Elijah, Klaus, and Kol standing outside the barrier.
"I'm surprised Diana isn't here." Esther spoke and Diana smirked
"Oh I'm here Esther." Diana said as she stood on the other side of the barrier behind them
Esther and Finn spun around, Diana shook her head disappointedly at her brother who just clenched his jaw and shifted closer to their mother while Esther smiled at her youngest daughter.
"Hello my love." Esther said and Diana scoffed before shooting a look towards her brothers Kol immediately catching on
Kol walked forward and immediately the torches around the pentagram flashed and the fire grew larger.
"That's lovely. We're stuck out here, while the favorite son plays sacrificial lamb. How pathetic you are, Finn." Kol taunted and Diana immediately got to work on William's spell
"Be quiet, Kol. Your brother knows virtue you cannot even imagine." Esther scolded and Kol scoffed
Diana had each of her ingredients dumped on the ground in front of her and quickly opened the spell before reading it making sure she didn't miss anything.
"Whatever you think of us, killing your own children will be an atrocity." Elijah jumped in
"My only regret is that I did not let you die a thousand years ago." Esther shook her head
"Enough. All this talk is boring me. End this now, Mother, or I'll send you back to Hell." Klaus snarled feeling his frustration rise
Diana started chanting the spell and she could feel the wind around her picking up gaining Esther's attention.
"No. No!" Esther exclaimed realizing what Diana was doing
"You can't stop her mother. Doesn't she deserve to have him back!" Elijah exclaimed and Esther shook her head rapidly
"She deserves nothing! None of you deserve anything! For a thousand years, I've been forced to watch you. Felt the pain of every victim, suffered while you shed blood. Even you, Elijah, with your claim to nobility, you're no better. All of you. You're a curse on this Earth. Stretched out over generations. The only way to save your souls is to end your lives and erase the mistake I made." Esther lectured but it was too late
The wind was whooshing around them and Diana could feel blood running down her face but she didn't care, she kept on pushing and pushing not even noticing when a bright white light began to appear in front of her. But everyone else did, Elijah, Klaus, and Kol watched in awe while Esther immediately tried to block Diana's magic but found that her daughter was too powerful.
"No!" Esther exclaimed before feeling the Bennett bloodline magic disappear. "No! Sisters! Do not abandon me! Do not help her!"
The light in front of Diana grew brighter and brighter before a large flash appeared sending everyone but Diana to the ground. Finn, noticing that the barrier around Esther and himself had disappeared immediately grabbed their mother and sped away before anyone could stop them.
Diana gasped and slouched down against the ground, her energy completely drained. So much so that she didn't hear the big gasp of air from the man laying a few feet in front of her as his blue eyes snapped open.
Elijah was the first to regain his composure and immediately his eyes widened when he took in what was in front of him.
William Audovera was awake, dressed in the same clothes he was in when the spell was cast on him a thousand years ago and his black hair still shoulder length.
Diana's eyes snapped opened when warm hands cupped her cheeks and a gasp escaped her lips when she took in her husband who was kneeling in front of her. His blue eyes soft and a large grin on his face.
"Hello my flower." William's raspy voice spoke making Diana choke on a sob
"You're here. You're really here." Diana cried surging forward and connecting their lips
William gripped her jaw with one hand and let the other wrap around her waist pulling her against him as Diana tangled her hands in his long hair.
Diana's brother's watched the moment with watery eyes, each of them able to tell how much this moment meant to their baby sister. This is what she's been waiting for for a thousand years. They decided to give the two some much needed time to rekindle and left to meet Rebekah back at the mansion and inform her that William was back.
Diana broke the kiss reluctantly, and traced every inch of William's face like she was trying to memorize it.
"I feared I'd never see you again." Diana whimpered and William shushed her and placed a soft kiss on her lips
"Nevermind that my love, I am here now and I shall never leave you again." William vowed and Diana smiled as she melted in his arms

I know this chapter ended kinda abruptly but don't worry because next chapter is going to be entirely dedicated to William and Diana reuniting (possibly with smut 😉)
I am so so so excited to write William as a character, I think I've said this before but he is really going to embody Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders. The accent is going to be the same, he is going to be fiercely protective of Diana and her siblings, and Diana is going to be his soft spot. He is a mix of Klaus and Elijah for sure and I really hope you guys like him.
