"Y/N? Baby, come on. We're going to be late!" Yeji called out as she and the girls stood in the kitchen.
"She's going to make us fashionably late again." Ryujin teased.
You're supposed to be tagging along with Yeji and the girls to a huge award show and you're extremely excited about it.
You haven't been able to attend a few others they've gone to this year due to work or prior commitments, so being able to attend this one is very big and exciting for you.
"Baby?" Yeji yelled.
"I'm right here." You said as you started to come down the stairs. "Someone's impatient."
Yeji rolled her eyes playfully in response to you teasing her and she was about to reply with a comment about how good you look in your outfit.
But just as her lips parted and she prepared to speak, you let out a yelp as you tripped over your dress and fell down the last few steps.
You landed on the floor with a loud crack and the sound made Yeji's heart drop.
"Oh, my god!" Yuna said.
Yeji hurried over to you and the girls all followed in concern.
"Are you okay, baby?" Yeji asked.
"No." You said as the pain in your ankle became even more noticeable. "I think I broke my ankle."
"Can I look at it?" She asked.
You winced as soon as her fingers brushed against your ankle.
It already looked bad and it was very obvious to not just her but the girls that it was most definitely broken.
It was bruised and swollen.
Not to mention throbbing as the pain intensely flooded over you.
"We need to get you to the hospital," Chaeryeong spoke.
"No, I'll get her there," Yeji said. "If none of us show up tonight, JYP won't be happy. You all go, I'm going to take her to the emergency room."
The girls knew that Yeji was right, unfortunately.
They wanted to go with you because they all care and worry about you.
But everyone knows they're showing up and Yeji can easily explain why she couldn't show up because you, her girlfriend, come first.
But the girls not being there would probably make JYP unhappy as their being there wasn't as important as Yeji being there.
So as much as they wanted to tag along as concerned friends, they knew they had to get going to the award show.
"Okay. Just keep us updated. Please." Lia pleaded.
"Of course," Yeji replied. "Okay, baby, let's get you to the car and the hospital."
She and Yuna helped you onto your feet and to the car before Yuna got into the car that was waiting on everyone.
"I'm so sorry." You told Yeji, only to watch her frown. "You're going to miss the show."
"I don't care. You come first, baby. I'm not leaving your side." She said before kissing your forehead softly.
She let you squeeze one hand while the other rested on the steering wheel as she drove to the hospital as quickly as possible.
When you arrived, she pulled into the closest parking spot before she hurried to the passenger side and helped you out.
"I've got you, my love. We're almost there." She said as you winced and took slow, painful steps. "It's okay, you're going to be alright."
The sliding doors opened and she walked to the desk where a few nurses were.
"My girlfriend's ankle is broken, she needs help."
At this point, the pain was so bad that a couple of tears fell down your cheeks.
You couldn't hold back; it was too intense.
"Fill out these forms real fast and we'll get her back."
Yeji was extremely unhappy that she had to fill out forms before you could be taken back because you were in agonizing pain and she hated seeing you like that.
But she knew the sooner she filled everything out, the sooner you'd get help.
So she helped you to a chair and sat beside you, quickly filling everything on the forms out.
It took a few minutes but she kept comforting you and did the best she could to finish it as soon as possible.
"I'll be right back," she promised before she went and placed the papers back on the desk.
The nurse looked them over quickly before nodding.
"Okay, let's get her back there."
Yeji sighed in relief before helping you up.
"Come on, baby. It's alright." She said softly as she helped you through the doors and into the back.
It wasn't too far to one of the hospital beds but when you reached it, you were relieved, hoping that you'd be out of pain as fast as possible.
"Yeji," You whined.
"I'm right here, my love," Yeji said as she took your hand.
"It hurts." You sniffled.
"I know." She said, feeling her heart shatter once again.
Before she could say anything else, just as she finished kissing your hand, the doctor came in.
"You're Y/N?" She asked.
"Yeah." You answered through the intense pain.
"Let me look at your ankle real quick, okay?"
You nodded and squeezed Yeji's hand as the doctor examined your ankle, worsening the pain.
"Let's do a quick X-ray and then go from there."
It felt as though you were never going to be out of pain and, as more time went by, you began to grow nervous that it might take surgery to fix your broken ankle.
But, thankfully, after getting the x-ray, you were told that you wouldn't need surgery.
"We will have to put you in a boot for some time and you will also need to use crutches and take some medication to help with the pain." The doctor explained.
You breathed a sigh of relief as soon as you were given a cup of water and some pain relief.
"There we go, baby," Yeji whispered after you swallowed the medicine and water down. "That should help with the pain."
She kissed your head softly and let you continue to hold her hand as they gave you a boot to wear as well as a pair of crutches.
"How long does it take to heal?" Yeji asked.
"Usually, a broken ankle takes about six to eight weeks to heal. It can be a little longer sometimes but not always."
You groaned.
"So I have to wear this for six to eight weeks?"
The doctor nodded with a sad smile.
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of you until you're all better," Yeji promised as she kissed your cheek lovingly.
You cracked a small smile at her.
"I guess that makes me feel a little better."
She grinned before the doctor left to get your discharge papers.
"Okay, let's get you to the car," Yeji said.
"Be patient with me. I'm still learning these." You spoke as you stood up, attempting to use your crutches.
"Take your time, my love. There's no need to rush and hurt yourself more. But when we get to the car, I have to text the girls and let them know what's going on."
"Can we get food on the way home?" You asked.
"Fine." She said, playfully rolling her eyes again. "Whatever you want, baby girl."
You smiled as she placed her hand on the small of your back and took slow steps with you, happy to do whatever it took to make you feel better, even if it was just a little bit.
