Javontae POV:
After I drop Tre off, I head back to the mall to go get something to eat. I walk into the food court and see Tavon and Deion sitting there waiting. I walk up and sit down at the table with them.
"What up fam" I say
"Aint much, how's the shoe search" Deion asks
"I got my shoes. Me and Melo when and got em earlier today." I tell them
"Wait, you were with Melo earlier?" Deion says as he balls his face up
"Yeah?" I say confused
"So he was with you all day but this nigga couldn't even take two seconds to look at any of my calls?" Deion says angrily
"If I can remember correctly twin, you did tell him that you datin his fuckin cousin, who must I remind you went behind his back and let you fuck." Tavon chips in
"And you told him to leave you the fuck alone." I say
"Man shut the fuck up." Deion says "So is y'all going out or what" He asks
"I mean, nawl. We're just friends." I tell them
"Man that nigga is trying to play the same game Ari played." Deion says
"Don't never compare Melo to that bitch. EVER!" I tell him
"Aye watch yo mouth when talkin bout my girl." Deion says
"So you really exclusive wit her bum ass now." Tavon asks
"Imma tell you just how I told Melo....she my fuckin girl now." Deion says
"OOOOkayyyyyy" I say "Oh shit here come Melo right here"
I answer my phone to hear Melo sweet ass laugh.
"Yoo, what you laughin at." I say with a smile on my face
"Nothing I'm watching tv." He says
"DAMN NIGGA YOU BLUSHING" Tavon whispers while he cheesing hard asf
"Shhh nigga" I say
"You must be with somebody" Melo asks me
"Just Tavon dumb ahh." I tell him
"I'm here too nigga!" Deion says loud asf "Aye, tell your new boo to hit me up on Instagram." Deion says to me
"Boy chill out, we don't even do that." I say
"Man, do whatever the fuck you gotta do." Tavon says as he glares at Deion "Deion come on, I'm finna take yo dumbass home bro. You just have no fuckin filter bruh."
"Whatever Tavon" Deion says getting up from the table
"You ready?" Tavon asks
"Yeah, I'm ready." I say "Alright well, talk to you later Melo."
I hang up the phone and I head to my car. When I get home I hear that my dad is home and he's watching the big football game in the living room. I walk in and I see him.
"Hey Pop" I say
"Hey son, come and watch this game with me. It's the Super Bowl." He says
"Nah I'm good pops, I'm gon take a shower and head to bed." I say
"Alright well don't stay up too late." He says
"Ight." I say as I head upstairs
I get in the shower and as I'm getting washed I hear my phone go off. I get out of the shower, dry off and put some shorts and a shirt on, I go downstairs and pick my phone up from the table. I look at the screen and it's a text message from Melo.
Melo: Hey Tae
Me: Yoo M, wyd
Melo: same old same old
Me: Oh, wat u watchin
Melo: some movie
Me: wat channel
Melo: I don't even know
Me: Ok
Me: well, I'm tryna ft
Melo: You serious
Me: yeah come on
Melo: alright
After about a minute or two he calls.
"YOOOO" I yell at the phone, making him laugh
"Really nigga" He laughs
"My bad frl tho, what you been up to since earlier" I ask
"Nothing really, me and Saniya picked up Kennedi and we wnet to fireball but we ended up leaving cause we got bored." He explains
"Oh ok." I say
"How you doin" He asks
"Im good, wat you watching right now" I ask
"Nothing" He says
"Damn, wat u doin" I ask
"Nothing just laying on the couch." He tells me
"HEEEYYYY JAVONTAE" Melo's mom says
"Heyyy Ms. B." I say
"How you doin sweetheart, you having a good night?" She asks
"Yeah, Im good. What about you" I ask
"I'm ok, but I wanted to tell you that you should come over for dinner some time." She says
"I'll try to make it some time this week" I laugh "If it's ok with Melo"
"Sure pull up, we could have a sleepover." He says in a laugh "Or is that too childish for you Mr. gut feeling."
"Nol, just like you I'm standing on business." I say cheesing "Tomorrow sound good enough for the sleepover."
"Yeah you can come tomorrow." Melo says in a smile
"Ok well, sweet dreams. I gotta go, night" I say
"Goodnight Tae" Melo says as he hangs up
When I get off the phone with Melo I feel kinda sad. It was so weird when he called and asked to talk to me, it made me happy, but I didn't know why. Maybe I am starting to like him. I mean he smart, funny, cute, quiet, well when he wanna be, and just overall a good person. I fall asleep thinking about Melo that night.
I wake up the next morning and I look at my phone. It's 12:30 in the afternoon. I get out of bed and go downstairs. I see my dad sitting on the couch watching tv. I walk in and sit down on the couch next to him.
"Hey son, what's up" He asks without taking his eyes off the tv
"Nothin, just chilling" I say
"Hmmm, you gon go over and chill with your friend?" He asks
"How you know I'm going over to Melo's house?" I ask surprised
"I heard you on the phone talking about it last night." He says
"Oh ok." I say
"Well what are you waiting on, get the hell out of here." He says as he turns and looks at me
"Ok" I say as I get up to leave
I get in my car and drive to Melo's house. When I get there I see him sitting in the living room, so I ring the doorbell. After a couple of seconds he opens the door.
"Hey" He says smiling
"Hey" I say smiling back
"Come on in" He says
"Thanks" I say "So what you doing in here"
"Nothin, watching tv" He says
"Nigga are you watching the powerpuff girls" I ask lauging
"Yes, it calms my nerves" Melo laughs
"Okay sugar, spice, and everything nice." I laugh
"Shut up." Melo chuckles
"You wanna go to the park? We can go to the pool and chill." I ask
"Ok, but I have to tell my parents we're going." He says
"Ight, Imma wait outside" I say
"Ok." He says
A few minutes later, he comes back out with his keys and wallet. We hop in the car and drive to the park. When we get there, we get out and walk to the pool. When we get there there are some other people there, but no one really paying attention to us. We go change in the bathroom and meet back up by the pool. We lay out on the lounge chairs and chill.
"You wanna play volleyball?" I ask him
"Yeah" He says
"Ok let's go." I say
We get up and go over to the net.
"Me and my boy are playing, y'all wanna join?" I ask the couple
"Yeah sure" The woman says
"Alright, y'all know how to play right" I ask
"Yeah, it's been a while though" She says
"Me too" The guy says
We play for about an hour and when we finish Melo and I are sweating like hell. We jump in the pool to cool off and we see the two people from earlier staring at us.
"You can go change now if you want, no one will be here for a little bit." I tell him
"I'm good" He says
"You wanna just sit in the pool for a while?" I ask
"Ight, that's cool with me" He says
We spend the next few hours talking and swimming in the pool. We are having such a good time that neither one of us really realize that the sun has gone down. When we get out of the pool we go sit down by the lounge chairs to get some shade.
"So..." I say
"So..." He says back
"You enjoying our sleepover so far?" I ask with a smile
"Technically we're not at my house and we're both far from sleep." He laughs
"I know, but you know what I mean." I laugh
"Yes, I do" He laughs
We spend the next few hours talking about random things. Before I even realize it it's almost midnight and we gotta head back to Melo's house. Time for the real sleepover to start. We get out of the pool and go inside the locker room to change back into our regular clothes. We finish getting dressed and I hear someone call Melo's name. We walk out of the locker room and I see Ari.
"Oh my fucking god, how the fuck do you be findin' me?" Melo asks
"Boy ain't nobody checkin for you." Ari says
"Then why are you here" I ask
"Everything good over here bae?" Deion comes in the room
"Oh, nevermind. I know exactly how you keep finding me. Cause yo man be keeping tabs on me." Melo says
"Nigga ain't nobody worried about you ova here" Deion says
"Cap" I say
"What was that" Ari asks
"I said CAP. You know, like when ur lying." I say
"Man whatever, Ari come on." Deion says walking away
"Not until this piece of shit apologizes." Ari says
"Nigga ain't gon do shit." I say "Now get the fuck on, you're keeping me from spending time with my fav."
"Oh so now you Melo yo fav? Bullshit." Deion says
"Oh so you worried about what I'm doing? I'm sure you're already back to fucking Ari right now." I say
"Tae come on let's just go." Melo says as he grabs my arm
"Nawl, I'm finna handle this right here." I say as I step towards Deion
"You better watch the way you talk to me, you know what I can do." Deion says
"Nigga please, I've dropped yo bum ass before and I can do it again" I say
"Ok, that's enough y'all" Melo says stepping in the middle of us
"You lucky I don't wanna scar Melo by beating yo ass." I say staring at him "Come on Melo, it's getting late we gotta head back to yo crib."
"Okay" Melo says
Me and Melo get back to his house and Melo goes to take a shower, and he leaves me in his room, so I just sit there. Waiting for him to come back into the room.
"Ok, now the fun can begin." Melo says laughing
"Oh, the fun already begun." I say
"Whatever." Melo laughs "Sooooo, what do you want to do."
"We can listen to music and watch movies." I suggest
"Ok." He says "So what kinda movies are you into?"
"All kind." I say
"Okay well, we have Netflix and Hulu." He says picking up the remote
"Horror?" I ask
"Yes! I love scary movies." Melo says through a smile
Melo POV:
When Javontae asked to watch a horror movie, I jumped at the opportunity. We spend the next 45 minutes watching scary movies and drinking sprite. We are both sitting on my bed with our backs against the wall. I start to get a little cold so I hop under my covers while he is still sitting up.
"Why are you hiding." Javontae asks
"Nigga I'm not hiding, I'm just a little cold." I say
"It's almost 1 in the morning, turn off the light and go to bed." Javontae laughs
"No, lets watch another movie." I say
"Bet" Javontae says as he picks the remote up
When the movie is done, we are both laying down and Javontae is looking at me.
"Wat" I say smiling
"Nun" Javontae laughs "What's your favorite song"
*MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC VAMANOSS*
"Hmmmm, I'd have to go with one in a million, by Aaliyah of course." I say
"Your loooove" Javontae tries to sing "Is a one in a million
"It goes on and on and on." I add and laugh
"That was the first song that played when we got to the mall." Javontae says
"Yes, it is" I say smiling
"Damn, you got a beautiful smile." Javontae says
"Thank you Tae" I say blushing
"You know when you smile, it just make me wanna do the same." He laughs
"You're so stupid." I laugh
"Nol, im just saying." He says
Javontae POV:
We spend the next couple of minutes just staring at each other and smiling.
"Can I ask you a question?" I ask
"Sure, what's up" Melo says
"Well, it's kinda weird but, when did you know you were gay." I ask
"When did I know I was gay, damn. I guess I can say I always knew, now when I really started to accept it and embrace it was in the 5th grade." He says
"How did your family react." I ask
"They were fine with it, my dad told me that he could care less about who I was in love with, as long as the person I choose, loves me and treats me right." He says
"Wow, your dad said all that?" I ask
"Yep" He says
"Soooo, have you ever had a crush on a boy." He asks
"Uhhhh, that's a good question. Not that I know of." I say, trying not to seem too obvious
"Okay, I see. That's all" He laughs
"Yeah" I laugh "What about you, have you ever had a crush on a girl."
"Hell no, I don't swing that way." He says laughing
"Okay, I see." I say
*Stop the musiccc*
We spend the rest of the night talking and laughing until we both fall asleep. When I wake up the next morning, the first thing I see is Melo laying right next to me, if only he was in my arms. I shake that thought out of my head and I get up. I get out of the bed and head downstairs. I see that it's only 7:00 in the morning, so I start making breakfast. While I'm making the pancakes, Melo comes down and he comes and sits at the table.
"Hey" He says in a smile
"Hey" I say
"So what are we eating on this fine morning chef?" He asks in a funny ass country accent
"Nigga you a trip." I say laughing
"But really, what we eating" He says
"We eating pancakes, bacon, and eggs." I say
"Mmmmmm, ok." He says "Can we eat in my room, please"
"Yeah, sure." I say
After we're done eating breakfast, we go upstairs and watch movies. Around noon we decide to go and get something to eat. We head out and we stop at a pizza place. We order our food and we find a seat. After we finish eating, we leave and go to the park. We sit by the pool and just talk and enjoy the warm air.
"Damn it's warm asf out here" Melo says
"I know, that's why we came outside." I laugh
"Shut up" He says as he nudges me and laughs
"Nawl, I'm tryna take a nice nap under this warm ass sun." I say
"Oh, so now you sleeping?" He says
"Yep" I say as I lay back on the lounge chair
Melo POV:
While Javontae is laying back the sun shines perfectly on his body, almost making a shine to it. I look away and try to focus on something else, but that doesn't work. I look over at him and he's smiling.
"So I see you tryna watch a nigga sleep huh" He says opening his eyes
"Boy whatever." I laugh
"Come on" He says getting up
"Where we going" I ask
"Swimming" He says
"Ok" I say
We go change and we come back and get in the pool. As soon as we get in the water Javontae dunks me.
"Ayyyy, that was foul." I say as I splash him
"It's just the rules, first one in the pool dunks the second." He laughs
"Okay" I say
"Let's have a race" He says
"Ight" I say
"Let's start from the deep end and see who can make it to the shallow end the fastest." He says with a smile
"Nigga you know I can't swim that good." I laugh
"Don't matter." He says as he smiles and dives into the pool
"Ok" I say as I dive in too
We make it halfway and he dunks me. I come up laughing and I splash him. He comes up and smiles and then splashes me.
"Ohhhhh, it's like that." I say
"Ight, bet" He laughs
We spend the next 3 hours in the pool, playing and having a good time. Then we head back to my house after we dry off.
"So what do you want to do now?" I ask
"We can watch a movie or somethin." He says
"That's fine." I say
We spend the rest of the night laughing at stupid movies and eating chips. By the time the clock hits 11, we both are sleepy as hell.
"Damn, it's 11." I say
"Time flies when you're havin fun." He says
"Yea, that's true." I say with a smile
"Whatcu blushin fa, lil ugly dude" He says with a laugh
"I don't know, lil ugly dude." I say as we both laugh
"Come on, let's get ready for bed." He says
"Ok" I say
We head up to my room and we brush our teeth. I give him an extra toothbrush that my mom got me and he thanks me. I take a shower and he takes one after me. When we get in my bed we start to find another movie to watch.
"So what are we watching this time" He asks
"How about this" I say as I turn on the movie
"Yeah, that's good." He says
"Imma hit the bathroom real quick." I say as I walk out
"Ight, Hurry back" He says with a smile
I go to the bathroom and do my business, I wash my hands and I go back into the room. Javontae looks up and he sees that I'm not wearing a shirt.
"Damn, you just gonna walk in here half naked." He laughs
"Yeah, why not. You know I work this." I laugh
"I can't even deny that." He laughs
"Thanks." I laugh "Damn I left for like two minutes Tae, how you eat a whole half a bag of chips."
"I told you to hurry back" He laughs "A nigga got hungry"
"It's fine, I'll just get some more." I say
"Ok" He laughs
When the movie is over we decide to get some sleep. I lay down and close my eyes.
"Night Tae." I say
"Goodnight." He says
Javontae POV:
We are laying down and Melo has his back facing me. I reach over and wrap my arm around him.
"Goodnight Melo" I say
"Goodnight." He says, scooting closer to me.
As I am holding him in my arms I feel him put his hand on top of mine. Is this us becoming official? Are we a thing? I don't even know, I just know I don't want this moment to end.
Melo POV:
When Javontae wraps his arms around me I instantly smile. He has a grip on me and I can't even move, and honestly, I'm glad.
