Weiss wanted to run away from this because as she fiddled with her skirt from where she is, she was slightly panicking as to what she would do in the situation she was stuck in. Ruby was at her right scolding something at the blonde about her beloved cookies and Yang argues back leaving Blake silently reading and the white haired girl in a weird situation, sitting still and avoiding any movements that might get her in touble.

There was plate of food in front of her and she was very unfamiliar as to what it was but she knows that some of it were vegetables which she didn't really appreciate like any other kid. She then touched the same things that Ruby and rest of them were eating at their plates and found her food rather strange.

"Weiss, are you alright? Don't you like to eat?" She asked and Weiss could only nod seeing that the food in front of her was unfamiliar.

This made the rest of them worried. Weiss was already skinny as she was and was pale, her hair the color of freshly fallen snow in winter and she didn't look better than earlier. Ruby tried to think of an idea how to keep Weiss well nourished from this point on but she was still unfamiliar with how the girl lived her life before she washed up ashore at Vale.

"Alright, how about...a sandwich for the meantime?" Ruby asked the white haired girl who nodded. She has eaten a few varieties back down in the palace, what could possibly be wrong with the one up here on land?

Ruby smiled and was somehow hopeful. She took one huge bite from her food before going to the kitchen to make a sandwich for Weiss to consume so she won't at least starve.

Yang raised an eyebrow at the girl and studied her carefully but this didn't go unnoticed. Weiss looked away from Yang's stare but she knows that she was trying to choke her or at least that's how she felt.

"Say...Are you really from a province or a mansion?" Yang asked and pointed her fork accusingly at the shy girl who slightly panicked as she didn't know what to answer for that question.

"Yang, it's not nice to ask like that." Blake said and placed her hand on Yang's and asked her to lower it down. Blake's eyes went to give an apologetic look at Weiss for the doings of the blonde.

"Sorry, Yang's just your ordinary, over-protective sister over Ruby. I know you were from a province and that's what we need to know if you're not willing to tell us anything." Blake said and smiled at Weiss before taking another bite from her fish. Weiss liked Blake making her keep the things she wanted to keep and at least Blake was modest enough to stoop snooping around.

Ruby came back a few moments later and saw how the air was filled with tension. It didn't make her feel better but she knows that she needed to do something for all of this to stop or who knows what Weiss would do or her sister for that matter.

"Weiss, I didn't know what you like so I just made you some chicken sandwich so you'd be able to eat that next time." Ruby said and pertained to the chiken dish she prepared for the girl's diner that now has gone cold.

Weiss couldn't protest because after all, she was a freeloader in Ruby's home so. At least this was something she was quite familiar with.

"T-Thank you.." Weiss accepted the food Ruby made and took a careful bite and for one moment, Weiss was completely astonished. "T-This is delicious!" She said and gave a wide smile at the one who made her the snack. It was tastier that what she ate down underwater so she took another bite and another until it was gone but she managed to maintain her formality and grace as a princess (or at least a country girl) as she ate her food.

Ruby and the lot of them were surprised to see the girl smile in glee while she ate and they can't help but notice how beautiful the girl was. Her silence is temporary but a person's smile would eventually show what they are. Weiss is a beautiful mysterious girl and Ruby was somehow determined to know more of the girl.

"I'm glad you like it." Ruby had to speak up because Weiss has noticed the eerie silence there was while they looked at her in awe.

After eating, Ruby did the dishes, leaving Blake and Yang to accompany Weiss as she sat down in silence at the couch in front of the television but placed them in a very awkward atmosphere.

"So, Weiss...how are your legs going?" Yang asked as she recalled Ruby mentioning that she had to carry the girl all the way home. Blake closed her book temporarily and looked at Weiss' direction, waiting for her answer for the very same question.

Weiss looked at her legs and stood up on her own and walked around the couch where Yang and Blake was seated and found herself walking normally like a real human.

"I-It's alright now..."she said in a soft voice and even if she sounded a little weak and tired, Yang and Blake was thankful that she was in good shape.

Weiss took a deep breath and looked at the clothes that she was wearing. They were not hers but it was given by a stranger: Ruby Rose.

Somehow, the fact that humans actually cared about strays were disturbing and very suspicious but what made them so concerned about people around the,. She didn't see this behavior when she was underwater.

Ruby was listening to their conversation while she finished the dishes and she hoped that Weiss would speak more. Her less interaction with the lot of them made her have such a mysterious vibe around her that made the cookie-lover curious and little nervous.

Weiss went back and sat down, still afraid to use her legs since she wasn't accustomed to it. She took the pillow from the couch and hugged it close as she felt the stare of Blake and Yang on her.

"Weiss, why don't you want to go to Beacon by the way? From the looks of it, you have the potential to be a huntress." Yang asked and laid back. Blake just nodded in agreement.

Weiss turned her head to both of them and did not like to meet their eyes.

"E-Entering Beacon would be signing a contract with death in exchange to stay here as much as I want but I don't wish to risk that. I don't like to waste my life fighting." Weiss answered and she was just being honest. She didn't want to go on land to go to school. Besides, she is a princess underwater, even the languages of the world above her were taught to her and everything else. Going to Beacon would give her nothing of her advantage and she doesn't want to be a huntress.

"Are you kidding? Being a huntress is amazing! Right Blake?" Yang asked with matching hand gestures and grinned at the blackette.

"It really depends but it is fun when you look at it." Blake told her and set her book down and smiled at Weiss, giving her an encouraging look but Weiss didn't want any of the things related to being a huntress. She wanted to discover the the land above and out of water, away from the place she grew up in and she was not expecting to know humans herself.

"I'll...Hmm.." Weiss made her way upstairs back to the room she came from just this afternoon and Ruby couldn't help but follow her by gaze. She found out that talking about Beacon was not helping and she knew how Weiss felt.

"Guys, you should have taken a hint." Ruby told Yang and Blake who were silently watching from the television.

"Oh, Rubes, we were just telling her what Beacon can offer." Yang laid back and looked at her sister who was standing behind them who didn't look pleased because of it.

"Yes but next time, try to be more sensitive." Ruby asked and stormed off and upstairs, leaving Yang feeling bad for her own words and Blake scooted closer to her girlfriend, wanting to make her feel even a little better.

"Yang, it's not your fault. Ruby was just concerned for Weiss. Don't condemn yourself for that." Blake told her as she held her warm hand as they sat at the couch.

"Yeah, sorry." The blonde pulled Blake closer and planted a kiss at her temple which made the fauness smile.

"Besides, just give them space for now." The fauness added and leaned at the shoulder of the blonde, resting her head by her shoulder.

"And we can have our time here before we go back tomorrow." Yang pulled the blackette at her lap and wrapped her arms around her waist and held her close for the longest while they've had.

Between their studies, their time spent out of Beacon to work on missions, and other matters they had in regards to being huntresses, Yang and Blake barely had time to cuddle without worries that someone might be tailing them or someone will have their head off. Now, being in each other's arms was the best feeling they've had after a long time and both were not going to waste a second of it.

Yang carried Blake in her arm like a princess and went upstairs to her room to retire for the night with who knows what they'll be doing behind the door of the room.

Ruby, however, was standing at the door of the room where Weiss had ran to,hoping to at least comfort her and ask her what's wrong but she had no response from the girl at the other side.

"Weiss, please, open the door. I'm sorry for my sister's insensitive words earlier. Can we...talk?" Ruby asked once more, in hope that Weiss would open the door for her.

Weiss was seated next to the door and when she heard the plea of Ruby from the other side of the door, she couldn't help but feel bad for shutting herself out so she slowly stood up, still finding her legs alien from her system but she did so anyway and unlocked the door and turned the knob, pulled it and peeked ever so slightly from the small crack.

"Wanna talk about it?" Ruby asked with a gentle smile. The mermaid was rather feeling bad for her, staying out of her door and asking her the same question for a while now so she opened the door and looked at the hall if anyone else was there before pulling Ruby inside the room only to trip on her own feet, bringing Ruby down with her on the ground.

Upon realization, both the girls blushed. "S-Sorry." Weiss muttered and looked away from Ruby who broke a grin at her.

"It's alright. You're still getting used with your legs after all." Ruby said and pulled away from the mermaid at the ground and helped her up. Both closed the door behind them before they went to the bed and sat next to each other.

The silence of the evening, the sound of the waves not too far from her home--it was familiar for Ruby but Weiss was listening as she gathered her thoughts.

"Being a huntress...it's the last resort for me. I don't...intend to be one." Weiss finally said after a long time of silence.

Ruby can relate but she wanted to know the reason of the girl. "Why so?"

Weiss bit her lip and sighed. "It's a family thing. My family thinks going to Beacon will a forever pass to be independent. My father thinks so."

The white haired girl allowed herself to fall and land on the bed, looking up at the blank sea green ceiling. No one must know she's a mermaid, she won't go to Beacon, she refuses to acknowledge Cinder to be her step mother. Being on Land, she was utterly confused, most confused she's been on her life but she has her reasons as to why she went there.

"Well, we have different reasons why we refuse to go to Beacon. Yours happen to be far from mine but, I understand you." Ruby said and looked at Weiss and Weiss the same for the girl. Icy blue to bright silver, the two girls felt their hearts skip a beat as their eyes met.

But that moment slipped out of their grasp as they both broke their gazes from each other and refused to recognize the odd feeling at their chest.

"So, what could be your reason?" Weiss asked and sat up, looking at the door across her a few steps away.

"I'm...not suitable for the job. I'm sick you see. That's why..."

Weiss tried not to look sympathetic. She knew that Ruby or anyone else for that matter wants to feel sympathy at this case. The girl knew that Ruby was sick in a matter that it was...a long term.

"That shouldn't be a hindrance for you to reach your dreams." The mermaid smiled at her, no--grinned at her which Ruby found adorable and awe-striking.

"You're one odd girl, Weiss."

"I should say the same with you, Ruby."
