"Come now, love," smirked Klaus after he overcame the fact that his brother was not daggered and while glancing at Alexandra's slightly trembling silhouette across him. "Are you still mad at me?"

"All this time... you've been dishonest with me," she hiccuped angrily, the waves of her tears running down her cheeks uncontrollably. "Y-you killed Isobel."

"You turned out to be her weakest spot, love," pointed out the cursed Original, fingering one of the decorative pillows. "Even with her emotions off, dear Isobel seemed to have you as her own daughter even if you were only her husband's niece."

"And you had to lead her to end her own life, so she can finally be free of you?" Spoke Elijah with clenched teeth, seating on the second couch between his brother and Alexandra's. "Did you proceed to Katerina's freedom as well?"

Klaus tilted his head in his brother's direction. "Don't tell me you're worried about your precious Katerina, Elijah. After everything she has done to Alexandra, you should be the first one wishing for her to rot in Hell. Unless..." He looked at the Shadowhunter, who had her tearful gaze elsewhere. "you never actually stopped fancying her."

Hot anger flashed in the noble Original's eyes as he felt the sting in the angelic beauty's heart, in his own.

Veins appeared underneath Elijah's eyes and he vamp-sped towards Klaus, only for him to speed towards Alexandra, grab her and place one of Alaric's knives against her throat, freezing the other male's action.

"One more move and I'll make sure I break this Soulmate Bond right here and now, Elijah," threatened the blond vampire and pierced the Nephilim's neck with the point of the knife, earning a painful gasp from her.

He knows about our Soulmate Bond...

"STOP!!!" Roared the elder brother as he saw Alexandra's angelic line of blood running down her chest.

"Sit down," ordered Klaus and Elijah debated whether he should do as told or not.

But when the non-triggered hybrid made a deeper cut on Alexandra's neck, earning a painful yell of hers, her soulmate sat down against his will.

"Now," began his half-brother and licked the blood off the knife, veins appearing underneath his eyes the second the angelic essence touched his tongue. "Let's talk."

𝐒ᴀʟᴠᴀᴛᴏʀᴇ 𝐁ᴏᴀʀᴅɪɴɢ 𝐇ᴏᴜsᴇ.

Damon was laying on his bed while listening to everyone speaking downstairs.

"Where's Alexa?" He heard Elena ask.

By hearing the Nephilim's name, he immediately stood up, put a shirt on and decided to join the group of people.

"She will be here any moment now," said Elijah when Damon entered the living room. "She and I had a rather unfortunate visit the previous night and she's taking extra precautions on that matter."

"What kind of an unfortunate visit?" Demanded the Salvatore firstborn, forgetting about Elijah having been at Alexandra's house, again.

Elena's head whipped in the noble vampire's direction, in utter concern. "Elijah? What happened?"

The thousand-year-old immortal released a sigh. "Klaus came by Alexandra's house... in his own body. It appears that he needed no longer Alaric."

"And where is he!?" Asked Jenna, who was seated beside her niece, not caring about Klaus for a moment. "Did he hurt him?"

"I'm afraid I do not know, Jenna," replied the suited male. "His main aim was to upset Alexandra. He gave her no perspicuous answer when she inquired of her Uncle."

"Oh God," breathed the Sommers female, rather worried for her boyfriend's life and Elena wounded her arm around her for support.

"What did Klaus want from her?" Asked Damon, growing more and more impatient.

The doorbell rang and Elijah proceeded to open the door. "Why don't you ask her yourself?"

The raven-haired male turned to the other occupants in the room while pointing at Elijah's retreating figure, angrily. "Did he just go to answer the door in my house!?"

"For God's sake, will you just stop?" Whisper-yelled Caroline. "You do know that you and Tyler are alive because Alexa talked him into sparing you, right?"

The man's eyes narrowed at the blonde's statement and he turned to his brother for support.

"Don't look at me," Stefan shook his head. "you know she's right."

His brother rolled his eyes when the front door was heard creak shut. "Traitor."

"Hey," smiled Elena and Caroline at the sight of their friend entering.

"Good morning," greeted Alexandra, eyeing everyone. "Everything alright?"

"You tell us," spoke Damon, gaining her attention. "You're the one that Klaus paid a visit to. Why don't you tell us what did he want from you?"

"Straight to the point I see," commented the Nephilim under her breath and took off her coat, revealing her ᴏᴜᴛғɪᴛ. "Alright, well, long story short... Klaus was by my side for almost three years now, under the masquerade of someone else."

Everyone's eyes widened in utter shock.

"WHAT?!"

They exclaimed in unison.

"He pretended to be someone else, so he could come close to you?" Asked Tyler when Elena squeezed his hand, in terror. "Why?"

"That, he did not reveal," responded Elijah after a moment of staring at his soulmate (unbeknownst to her of course). "He only came to..."

He trailed off, not knowing how to utter such a thing.

"Now, you're shy?" Barked Damon at the Original. "We're in a middle of a crisis here!"

"What Elijah wants to say, is that Klaus requested his help," mumbled Alexandra and looked at the raven-haired Salvatore. "He threatened him that if he tries to stop the sacrifice in any way instead of being by his side, he will..." She cleared her throat and took a deep breath but didn't have a chance to reply.

"He will kill Alexandra," spoke the Original for her, spreading dread in the hearts of the brunette's friends. "Savagely."

"Then we find a way and don't let him break the damn curse!" Expressed the Salvatore firstborn, in a combination of anger and concern. "I mean, why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie, her witchy friends and Grandma."

"Damon," reprimanded Stefan, only for Elena and Caroline to disrupt him from continuing.

"No!" They simultaneously exclaimed.

"Bonnie can't use that much power without dying," said the Gilbert girl. "even with help."

"I'll write her a great eulogy," joked Damon, earning a deadly look from the heavenly beauty.

"Damon, do you wish for me to leave you another permanent wound apart from the scratches my brother gave you?" His expression changed, once he perceived the severity in Alexandra's words. "Bonnie will not die. Not under my watch."

"So... what do we do?" Wondered Caroline and looked at her friend, in concern.

"Exactly what Klaus asked," retorted the Nephilim, causing the room's occupants to frown upon her statement.

"You mean like..." Damon pointed at Elijah. "let him help his brother kill Elena and become one of the most powerful beings on this Earth!? Have you lost your mind!?"

"Something like that and please, stop reacting to everything we're saying," replied the Bloodwood heir before elaborating, "Klaus said that he will kill me if Elijah makes any attempt to stop him from breaking his curse. Well, we may have an idea on how to make Klaus believe that he has his brother on his side but have no idea that his curse will not work eventually."

"Okay... But before we get to that," started off Stefan and addressed the thousand-year-old immortal. "let's assume that he will break the curse tonight, with the full moon... How do we break this curse?"

"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward," retorted the Original. "The ingredients, so to speak, you already know."

"The Moonstone," muttered the blond-haired Salvatore and the half-Cretan had to contain a smirk from shaping her lips.

The suited male continued, "A witch will... channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each."

"And where does Elena fit into it?" Queried Jenna, shivering at the thought of her niece dying.

"The final part of the ritual," told her, Elijah, and moved to acquire a wooden box from the shelf behind him. "Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger..." He glanced at Elena. "to the point of your death."

No one spoke as they tried to swallow the situation.

Jenna started to cry silently when she spotted Tyler taking Elena's hands in his own, supportingly.

"And that's where you come in," realized the doppelgänger with pursed lips and Elijah opened the wooden box to reveal a small bottle.

"This is an elixir that I acquired some five-hundred years ago for Katerina," he showed them the bottle. "It possesses mystical properties of... resuscitation."

"So, I'll be dead?" Elena knitted her brows together.

"And then you won't," uttered Elijah and caused the Gilbert heir and everyone else in the room, to feel some relief.

"That's your plan?" Doubted Damon, his hostile aura against the Original rather evident. "A magical witch potion with no expiration date?"

"Well, there might be a second solution..." The noble male looked at his destined half. "Darling, if you may..."

"Yesterday, I took Maeve and Charles to start their training in the Shadow World," informed Alexandra. "The Inquisitor of the Institute has let me know that some certain skills of mine were liberated when..." She took a deep breath and pointed at Stefan. "The day after Stefan's birthday, my family and I had to go the Silent Brothers - Shadowhunter Experts if you like - to aid us with some unknown powers that my brothers and I have developed since we turned eighteen. Nathaniel has increased physical strength, Gabriel Super Speed and I- well... way more powers, including their own. So, my situation was more urgent. So, the Silent Brothers proceeded with a ritual to remove some kind of magic block that prevented me from having these powers and some certain knowledge of myself. And I came to learn that... it's Archangel blood that runs into my veins. It was given to my Mother when she was giving birth to me so that I wouldn't die."

Everyone's eyes were about to explode from their confines.

"And..." Tyler dared to speak first. "What does this mean?"

"That her Archangelic ancestry has granted her with rather powerful abilities, Mister Lockwood," half-smiled Elijah. "If she truly wants, Alexandra's blood will-"

"We don't care," the older Salvatore interrupted him, stubbornly. "I trust her powers a thousand times over your elixir."

"Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this?" The doppelgänger diverted the subject, hoping to evade any kind of fighting between Damon and Elijah. "Does he have a werewolf?"

"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years," acknowledged the suited Original. "If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess is by tonight, he will."

Alexandra had in mind to tell everyone that Klaus did not have the real Moonstone but another thought ceased her from doing so.

She directly looked at Tyler. "Tyler, where's Mason?"

"He's still in the lake house with Victoria," mused the Lockwood boy, dismissingly. "Don't worry, he's informed about Klaus and the sacrifice. He's not stupid to return."

"Mason, it's Carol," said the Mayor while on the phone, leaving a voicemail to her brother-in-law. "I know you're on a trip with Victoria but I need you both. I've had an accident and I'm in the hospital. I don't wish to worry Tyler with this, that's why I'm calling you." She walked up the stairs and reached the top, coming face to face with Maddox, who mouthed along with her while she said, "Please, Mason. Take Victoria and come home." She hang up the phone and glanced at the warlock, fearfully. "Why did I say that?"

"Because you had a terrible fall," responded the man, faking sadness and pushing the poor woman with a wave of his hand.

Carol fell down the stairs and hit her arm against the railing before she landed on the marble floor, unconscious.

Maddox gazed down at her, lacking every relatable emotion of pity and regret - a small yet wicked smile confirming the nothingness within him.

"Get out!"

They heard Jenna yell from the entrance.

"Jenna? Jenna!" And here was Alaric's panicked voice.

"Get out!" Exclaimed the strawberry-blonde in fear and pointed a crossbow at the man before her, not knowing if it was actually her boyfriend or just a compelled version of him.

"Jenna, put the crossbow down, okay?" The hunter tried to calm her down. "It's me."

"Stay away from me," said Jenna when Alexandra emerged from the library, after two more unsuccessful attempts to find her brothers; neither of them replied get calls again.

"What's the matter?" Demanded Alexandra when her eyes met her uncle's.

"Lexie, sweetie, it's me!" Expressed the retired Shadowhunter, in despair. "He let me go. Klaus let me go."

Damon sped to Alexandra's side before everyone else came from the living room, to see what was taking place there.

"Test him," he instructed his love interest while eyeing Alaric wearily.

The uncle looked at his niece, pleading her with his eyes.

"What was the very last present that Uncle Christian gave to me?" She queried, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.

"Lexie, come on-"

She made a step forward. "Klaus dared to lay a hand on my children, pretending to be you!" She half-yelled, her tears now escaping her eyes. "I need to know that you're a hundred per cent back and that he hasn't done anything Klaus-like to you, so he can check on us, freely or use you like a Ken doll!"

The Saltzman male sighed heavily, perceiving her concern.

"The last gift my brother gave to you before he was killed... was a 𝐒wᴀʀᴏᴠsᴋɪ ᴅᴏɢ ғɪɢᴜʀɪɴᴇ," he said and Alexandra immediately felt her heart getting lighter. "He and your brothers were cleaning the basement from your house in Crete and the boys told him that you wanted to have a dog in years, and of course your Mother forbade it. When he returned, he gave you that cute figurine and told you that it may not be an actual dog but it's still fragile, like people's souls... And that if he wasn't allergic to dogs, he would've gotten you one, no matter what..." He came closer, certain that he had persuaded her. "Because he and I always put your feelings and needs above your Mother's caprices. Even if it was just a dog or a... motorbike of 1000cc for your birthday."

Alexandra let out a gasping laughter and burst into tears when Alaric brought her in his arms, breathing in her scent that he had missed so much.

Jenna lowered the crossbow at the scene unfold and smiled in relief.

"Why did he let you go?" Spoke Stefan after a moment.

"He wanted me to deliver a message," answered the uncle, bringing his niece closer to him. "The sacrifice happens tonight."

Carol slowly regained consciousness when she heard Mason and Victoria's voices near her.

She opened her eyes and detected their figures by the door of her room.

"Mason," she sighed happily and drew his attention.

"Carol, hey," he came closer to her and took her hand.

"You're here," she told him and spotted Victoria, in her nurse uniform behind her brother-in-law. "You're both here."

"Of course, Mrs. Lockwood," murmured the Winters female and came by the other side of the woman's bed. "When we arrived, I made sure you were put in a more comfortable room. I asked to take care of you personally."

"Oh, thank you, sweetheart," she patted her hand, in gratitude. "I really needed you both, here."

Everyone was in the living room.

"So you don't remember anything that happened?" Enquired Stefan from Alaric.

"No," worded the hunter in response. "It's like I blacked out and woke up three days later. Katherine was there."

"She's under compulsion," told him, the younger Salvatore. "Damon snuck her some vervain, but she can't leave until Klaus tells her she can."

"Pity," muttered Alexandra under her breath. "I would be more than pleased if he compelled her to drive one of your wooden weapons through her heart."

"I agree," smirked the second elder immortal before going upstairs.

"Okay, so, Alexa," toned Elena. "What about this plan of yours? How are you going to make the ritual not work?"

"If our raven-haired vamp had allowed Elijah to finish what he was saying, you would all know that my blood can actually revive someone if I want it with every bit of my heart," divulged the Nephilim with a grin. "And vice versa. If I really don't wish for someone to have my blood, specifically if it is taken by force, then it will turn lethal and the person will be dead in less than half an hour."

"So..." Began the Gilbert heir, relief adorning her features.

"If Elena takes your blood..." Continued Caroline, matching her friend's smile.

"There's a very high probability of Elena coming back to life, unharmed," finished Jenna for both of them, tears of happiness watering her eyes. "Especially if she takes Elijah's elixir too!"

The Shadowhunter tossed a tiny vial with her blood in it towards the Gilbert girl and she caught it easily.

Tyler took out the potion that Alexandra had given Mason the previous month, so he could not transform tonight and opened it as Elena opened her own vial.

"Bottoms up!" Said her boyfriend, humorously and drank the liquid along with his girlfriend, both of them coughing up a bit.

"Also," spoke the Bloodwood female and pulled something out of her pocket that caused everyone's eyes to widen. "Klaus has no idea that he has a very fake Moonstone in his possession."

"You had it all this time?" Asked Stefan, stunned.

Alexandra hummed in agreement and put the Moonstone back in her pocket. "I had to find a way to ensure my Cupcake's survival. If no real Moonstone, the no successful ritual."

"Yeah, but won't he seek revenge after that?" Alaric raised a logical question. "I mean, he won't hurt Elena because he needs her for the sacrifice but what of everybody else? He will kill us with the first chance he gets."

"The Moonstone that's currently in his possession, it's spelt with a Weakening Spell," explained the half-Cretan. "Once used, Klaus will not be able to harm any of you after his ritual." She spared Elijah a glance. "Not even his brother."

"Of course! We wouldn't want him dead, now do we?"

Echoed Damon's humorous tone from upstairs, causing everyone to roll their eyes.

I'll talk to him, mouthed Alexandra at Stefan and he nodded gratefully, not missing Elijah's heated stare at her retreating figure.

"So, what else did I do?" Asked Alaric as Alexandra ascended the stairs towards Damon's chambers.

"Oh, nothing," worded Jenna, dismissingly. "You only hit on your niece."

Alexandra saw the door open but knocked anyway.

"Come in," she heard Damon say and she entered.

"What, you missed me and came to see how I'm doing or you came to reprimand me for making fun of your boyfriend?" He mocked as he stared at the ceiling from his bed.

The Nephilim sighed and sat beside him. "Why are you acting like this?"

His head snapped in her direction. "Are you truly asking?"

"Damon you must understand, that whatever I'm doing is for everyone's safety," she proclaimed, in honesty. "I'm a Shadowhunter, that's what I do."

He sat up. "And does being a Shadowhunter forbids you from caring about your own life? You're making plans on how to bring the little martyr back to life and you didn't say a damn thing about you! You tricked the guy with the wrong Moonstone and good for you, but you only mentioned that he won't be able to harm any of us! What about you, huh!? What happens to you after he realizes his curse failed from being broken and wants revenge?"

"I... I don't know," she conceded, softly. "I suppose... I'm going to deal with the consequences, whichever they are."

He got off the bed, seething in anger. "HE WILL KILL YOU, DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!? Everyone else will be safe, except you! He found a way to use your Uncle, who's also a Shadowhunter, do you really think that he won't find a way to get to you?"

"I shall ward myself, then," she told him, a lot more calmly and stood up as well. "I may not be protected by the stone, but I'll find a way to protect myself. I have two children, Damon. If you ask me, I would've died to protect my friends, yes, but now things are different. I have no intention of dying in Klaus' hands and leaving my babies without another parent."

"And what if you don't get there, huh?" He put his hands on his hips. "What if he beat you up to it and you haven't had a chance to ward yourself? That is not a risk I'm willing to take, Hotness. I-" His ice-blue eyes glistened and his voice broke, "I can't lose you."

She walked closer to him. "You're not going to lose me, Damon." She used her thumb to wipe his tears off his skin. "I just need you to understand, I have to be there for Elena."

He nodded and looked down. "Yeah, I understand."

The Bloodwood female smiled in satisfaction. "Thank you." She kissed his cheek to ease his worries and he closed his eyes, devouring the feeling of her lips against his skin.

She pulled away and grasped his hand for a brief moment before moving to leave but he caught her off guard and pulled her back to him, joining their lips in an instant.

Alexandra gasped in surprise and tried to get him off of her with her hands and once Damon freed her lips from his own, he brought her back to his chest and bit into his wrist before putting it between her lips, so she would have no choice but to swallow his blood.

He released her from his grip and she began sobbing. "Wha-what have you done? What have you done!?" She cried louder, alarming everyone downstairs.

"I made sure you're not dying today," he responded, breathlessly. "Not while I'm around.'

Alaric was the first one who got there and froze when he saw Alexandra with blood inside and out of her mouth. His eyes flashed blue when he noticed Damon's wrist healing - his Shadowhunter nature returning after a very long time.

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY NIECE?!" He roared and attacked the vampire with all of his strength.

"Ric, don't!" Yelled the female Nephilim when Stefan and everyone else entered the bedroom, except for Elijah.

But Alaric wasn't listening as his fist wouldn't abandon the raven-haired's face. "YOU FED HER YOUR BLOOD! YOU FED HER YOUR BLOOD!"

Tyler and Stefan ran and got the hunter off Damon. "No, get your hands off me! He gave his blood to my niece! NOO!!!"

"Jenna, please try to calm him down," requested the blond-haired Salvatore and the woman nodded hurriedly after they left Alaric in the nearest room they could find and locked it, with him and his girlfriend inside.

Stefan sped back and went to comfort Alexandra, who was now on the ground and crying as Damon said, "You're so bent on dying, at least this way I know you'll come back."

"As a vampire!" Spat his brother and stood up. "She'll come back a vampire!"

"It's better than nothing else," the elder Salvatore spat back.

"How could you, of all people, take that choice away from her?!" Cried Elena while having her friend in her arms, Caroline being on the other side of hers.

No one had a chance to speak as they heard the floor by the doorstep creak, finding Elijah standing there, uncharacteristically quiet.

Oh, that was not good...

The Original glanced at his soulmate's tearful and bloody expression, his own unreadable.

"Elijah," whispered the half-Cretan, fearfully.

"Did he..." He pointed his finger at Damon. "feed you his blood without your consent?"

The Salvatore firstborn placed his hands on his hips, again. "Yeah, you got a problem with that, lover boy?"

Chocolate-brown eyes met ice-blue ones. "How dared you make that choice for her?"

Damon took a step closer, narrowing his eyes at him. "Admit it. You just wish you had the balls to do it yourself."

The Nephilim predicted the Original's move and intercepted him before he could launch himself at Damon - Stefan grabbed his brother.

"Elijah, please, don't!" She tried to hold him back, her Shadowhunter strength against his thousand-year-old vampiric one.

"No, let him come!" Laughed the raven-haired male, maniacally, trying to break free from Stefan. "Let's see what he's got!"

Alexandra looked back at the blond-haired Salvatore. "Stefan, get him out of here!"

Not needing to be told twice, the youngest undead male in the room, sped away along with his idiot of a brother.

Elijah made to follow but the brunette ceased him with her voice, "Elijah, please, I'm begging of you! Do not hurt him!"

His eyes snapped at hers. "How can you possibly be asking me that? After what he's done to you!?"

"He cares about her and he acted selflessly," spoke Caroline, urging the Original to glance in her direction after he reluctantly confirmed to Alexandra that he wouldn't be going after Damon.

"Well, I wouldn't call that caring," murmured Tyler under his breath, aware of Damon's feelings for his sister-like friend.

"You're not helping," scolded the doppelgänger and turned her gaze at her Shadowhunter friend. "Are you okay? How are you feeling?"

She took a minute to reply.

"Honestly?" She chuckled, nervously, tears blurring her sight once again. "Like my mundane part is gone."

Carol fell asleep again and Mason was wondering if he should tell Tyler or not while Victoria spoke to some other nurses about the Mayor's condition.

He walked outside the hospital for a while, to have some fresh air... but he didn't expect a certain someone to show up...

"Jules!?"

The blonde werewolf put on a small smile. "Hello, Mason."

"What are you doing here?" He demanded, a bit angrily.

'I should be asking you that," she answered, pointedly. "You know what day it is, what are you doing out and unchained?"

"Carol used to be my dead brother's wife," Mason reminded. "She had an accident, she asked for my help!"

"And now, we have to get out of here-"

"We?" He repeated, in disbelief.

Jules sighed. "Look, I know things between us took the wrong turn, but-"

"Mason?"

They turned to see Victoria, brow-knitted.

"What's the matter?" She wondered, not quite recognizing the blonde woman next to him.

"I uh... I'll give you a few minutes," offered the female werewolf and left, granting them some privacy.

"Please, don't tell me she's one of your wolfie exes," Victoria inched closer to him and chuckled, secretly hoping her assumption was incorrect.

The Lockwood heir laughed. "No, she's not."

"Then who is she?"

"She's-" His words were cut off as a sudden pain penetrated his brain and he held his head, screaming in agony.

The vampire's eyes widened. "Mason, what is happen-?" The same pain went through her as well and she fell to her knees, grasping her head and crying in pain.

Maddox appeared behind Mason, his hand raised in the duo's direction as he made them experience an Aneurysm Spell.

Greta appeared behind Victoria and injected vervain into her, causing the raven-haired beauty to gasp before falling unconscious.

The Lockwood male didn't take long to lose consciousness as the pain inside his head was rather unbearable, even for him.

"Let's go," said the Martin witch, proudly and took Victoria as her warlock friend took care of Mason.

Jenna had taken Alaric to the Grill, so he could relax a bit.

Damon feeding Alexandra his blood was something he had the vampire capable of doing but never imagined he would actually do it.

"How are you feeling?" Queried his girlfriend, softly.

Alaric took a sip of his Bourbon and sighed heavily. "I'm feeling pissed. How could he do something like that to her!?"

The redhead put a supportive hand on his shoulder. "He just didn't wanna lose her. He has strong feelings for her, that's why he acted the way he did."

"Did the idea of her hating him if she eventually turns into a vampire, even cross his mind?" Snapped the half-mundane, lowly.

"At least she will be alive."

Echoed Damon's voice from behind them before he took a seat beside the Saltzman male.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed, right now?" Hissed the dirty-blond man, his grip on his glass tightening.

"Well, I'm actually counting on the humans in here," he motioned for the bartender to serve him a drink before whispering to the History Teacher, "I don't suppose you want them to know what you truly are, huh?"

"Damon, this isn't a good time-" Jenna made an effort to get him to go but the undead creature ceased her words.

"I just want to apologize, alright?" He glanced at Alaric. "Look, I screwed up. I know this is the last thing you wanna hear, but I really care about your niece. And I will do anything in my power to make sure she stays alive, even if she hates me for the rest of her life. That's why I gave her my blood-"

"You did what?"

A British voice was heard from behind them and Damon turned his head, to find an unknown man standing beside him.

And realization dawned on him...

"Ugh," Salvatore groaned. "Klaus, I presume."

"In the flesh," smirked the Original and glanced at Alaric. "Thanks for the loaner, mate." Then, Jenna. "Love, I hope you're enjoying your life because if I have perceived your plan, you'd be dead, now."

"Go to Hell," said the Sommers woman, venomously.

The vampire hunter rose from his seat, in hot anger and pointed his finger at the blond immortal. "You do not get to talk to her like that."

Damon stood up as well. "Any reason you stopped by to say hi?"

Klaus shrugged. "Well, I was told you fancy my Shadowhunter and now you just confirmed it."

"She's not your Shadowhunter," spat Alaric, only to be held back by Jenna.

"Keep telling yourself that, hunter," winked the Original before turning to the vampire. "Now, what stupidity has gotten into you and you fed Alexandra vampire blood?"

"Just taking precautions," he gave him a smug grin. "I would've done the same thing to Elena if I had the chance."

The smile disappeared from the cursed vampire-werewolf's face. "Be careful, mate. Do not try anything you'll regret."

The Salvatore descendant chuckled ironically. "Ha. Thanks for the advice. I don't suppose I could talk you into a postponement, by any chance, huh?"

Klaus had to hold himself from bursting into laughter. "You are kidding?" He looked at the couple behind. "He is kidding, right?"

"No, not really," replied Alaric while Jenna said, "No, he's not."

"I mean, come on," continued the younger immortal. "what's one month in the whole grand scheme of things?"

"Let me be clear..." The Original turned serious. "I have my vampire. I have my werewolf. I have everything I need. The ritual will happen tonight. So if you want to live to see tomorrow... don't screw it up."

He left without another word.

"That was fun," commented Damon and took his seat again.

"Oh, I know that look of yours," groaned Jenna and drank from her wine.

"You're going to screw it up, aren't you?" The Nephilim followed his girlfriend's action and drank from his own drink.

The raven-haired male turned to look at him.

"You think if I took his werewolf out of the equation, she might... get over the fact that I tried to turn her into a vampire?"

Alaric growled. "Are you honestly asking advice for my niece after what you did to her!?"

"Damnit, I'm doing this for her! Think about it; without the werewolf, Klaus can't perform the ritual tonight, which means I would have bought her friend one month before the next full moon. Let alone that your genius niece had the fake Moonstone spelt."

"And you'll be dead," the strawberry-blonde just wanted to see Damon annoyed.

The undead man rolled his eyes. "Are you two gonna help me or what?"

The couple shared a look.

"What do you want us to do?"

𝐀ʟᴀʀɪᴄ's 𝐑ᴇsɪᴅᴇɴᴄᴇ.

Katherine was famished.

She was in despair for she kept finding empty blood bags in the fridge.

She heard the door being unlocked and sped there, only to find Alaric standing behind it.

Once he saw her, he crossed his arms with a small smile and laid against the doorframe.

"Look who's dumb enough to come back," remarked Katherine.

"Well, somebody had to invite him in," uttered the vampire hunter and when the woman furrowed her brows, he called the vampire, "Damon? Would you like to, uh, come in?"

Damon entered the apartment with a satisfied smile on his face and the five-hundred-year-old female sped to him.

"Are you trying to get me killed?" She yelled at him.

He grabbed her neck and sped her against a wall.

"I gave you vervain, now I'm here to collect," he hissed at her and he addressed his friend. "I got it from here, Ric."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, only one of us needs to get blamed for this. Get back in the house. Keep your future niece from handing herself over," the Petrova heir pushed him from her and he turned to Alaric. "And remember; Jenna and Hotness will be quite disappointed if you fail."

"And you have to remember," he narrowed his eyes at him. "that you're not forgiven yet, Mister."

He left and Katherine asked her former lover, "Get blamed for what?"

"I need to know where Klaus is keeping his werewolf," retorted the male vampire.

"Why? What are you going to do?"

"Dead werewolf equals no ritual."

"No," Katherine shook her head. "You can't interfere, Damon. Klaus will kill you and everyone you've ever met."

"I just need to delay this thing," he told her, trying to convince her.

"No," she refused once again before walking away from him. "No way."

"You should like this," stated the Salvatore firstborn. "It's going to buy another month of your pathetic life."

"Right, except that, I'm not the vampire he's planning on sacrificing," revealed the older Petrova doppelgänger.

"What?" Enquired Damon, stunned.

"Yeah, he's got Victoria Winters and Mason Lockwood," grinned Katherine and clasped her hands. "Therefore, I'm in the clear."

He drew near her, threateningly. "And where'd he get that idea from?"

She held up her hands, in surrender. "Hey! Hey, hey, hey. I'm just trying to stay alive long enough to get myself out of here."

The Salvatore descendant hummed. "What if I told you Alexandra had vampire blood in her system?"

Katherine's temples tensed. "And?"

"Imagine how much fun I'm gonna have, watching you becoming Klaus' punching bag for... I don't know- forever, just because he's angry that his favourite Shadowhunter eventually became a vampire. And let me tell you; he got really upset when he found out."

The older vampire weighed her options and didn't take long to reply, "The tomb. He's got them in the tomb."

"Smart girl," he beamed and started leaving. "Thank you."

𝐒ᴏᴍᴇ 𝐓ɪᴍᴇ 𝐋ᴀᴛᴇʀ...

Katherine was pouring herself some coffee when Klaus entered the apartment.

"Everything okay?" She raised a question after watching him observing the place, peculiarly.

"What have you been doing?" He replied with a question of his own.

"Making coffee," she hastened out a reply. "Do you want some?"

He vamp-sped to her and took a strong hold of her throat, looking deeply into her eyes as he tried to compel her, "Tell me, what you've been doing."

"Making coffee," she choked and pretended to be compelled, although the Original wasn't stupid; he noticed her pupils not dilating.

He let go of her neck and she began panting while veering around to step away from him.

"Wait," he made her halt, causing her blood to turn into ice as she faced him again. "Take off your bracelet." She obediently removed it from her wrist and handed it over to him. "Now, I want you... to walk over to the window and stand in the sunlight."

"But I'll burn," she told him, fearfully.

"You don't have a choice," he smirked when he noticed the change in her face.

She did as told and a mere few seconds later, her vampiric complexion started to burn once exposed to the sunlight.

The female started screaming in agony while Klaus enjoyed every second of it; the proof being the pleased smile on his lips.

He watched her torment for a bit longer until he was one hundred per cent certain, that his previous assumption was accurate.

"That's enough."

The Petrova female used her speed to get herself in the shadows, hitting the wall abruptly in the process.

The Original hummed, indifferently, not wishing for her to know that he knew. "Guess I was wrong. Alright, then..." He walked closer to her as she healed. "I need you to do something for me."

And Katherine knew that she had no choice but to obey... again.

𝐁ʟᴏᴏᴅwᴏᴏᴅ 𝐄sᴛᴀᴛᴇ.

"Where are your thoughts?"

She asked Elijah while she wiped the last stain of dried blood off her chin.

"Nothing of importance," he mumbled, so not convincingly.

Alexandra looked at him through the mirror. "Elijah?" They locked eyes. "What's troubling you?"

He inhaled loudly before enquiring, "How can you be so calm? You were fed vampire blood without your permission and yet you were protecting the one responsible! I mean- are you not afraid of...?"

"Of dying?" She presumed and turned around to face him. His silence was enough to grant her a response. She sighed and walked towards him, taking his hands and looking straight into his chocolate-coloured eyes. "Elijah, the first thing that we were taught as Shadowhunters, was that we would always face death when we fight against demons or any other creature. Even humans occur to be a threat sometimes. In my twenty-four years of life, I came face-to-face with death, a lot more times than you can possibly imagine.

"Now... it's different because I know that even if I die during the next nineteen hours, I will come back... as a creature I have no desire of becoming. Not this way. So, yes, I can be calm because despite how angry I am with Damon and how much I wish to kill him for what he's done... I know that even if he doesn't wish to show it, he did it because he cares about me and... he didn't want to lose me."

"He doesn't just care about you, darling," argued the Original. "He's insanely in love with you as your friends would say. That's the reason for such hostility towards me. He fears that he will lose you because of me... or worse, he knows."

"Please, don't change the subject," she requested, softly. "You know exactly what I was implying."

He sighed deeply, still not convinced about her theory. "What is that you're trying to say?"

"I'm saying that you won't be able to kill him, eventually because deep down you have doubts about your siblings' whereabouts!" She raised her tone a tad louder. "You react to Damon's behaviour because you simply see Klaus in him! Your brother obviously hates being left alone by the people he loves and was certain that if he had you believing that he had your siblings buried at sea, you would always remain by his side even from afar. It is clear as day that he lied to you so he could have you always searching for him.

"And if he didn't care about his family, then he probably would bury them at sea, without even bothering to inform you. Even in their half-dead state, they're safe and protected somewhere that only he would know... and I adamantly believe that it's certainly not the bottom of the ocean."

He had no time to retort.

"ALEXA!"

Echoed Elena's screaming voice from outside and the duo directly went out to see what was happening.

"There's no one here," noted Elijah as he looked around the place, finding no trace or scent of Elena.

"We both heard Elena scream, Elijah," she worded, in utter concern and veered around to look at him.

The Original made to speak but a loud crack of his neck rendered him unable from doing so as he fell on the ground, temporarily dead.

"Elijah!" Yelled Alexandra, in terror and kneeled next to him.

Not having enough time to turn, the Shadowhunter felt a sting in her neck as Greta injected her with the same potion that Isobel had provided to Alexandra, so she wouldn't be affected by Elijah's daggered state.

The Bloodwood heir fell unconscious and Maddox caught her before her head touched the ground.

"So, what do we do?" He asked the witch and picked the Nephilim up, bridal style.

"What we discussed," she took another syringe and stabbed the Original with it, withdrawing some of his blood. "Klaus may be our master, but if we meddle with the Soulmate Bond business, then we have no chance of getting away with it." She muttered a spell under her breath before using the syringe on the half-mundane. "The Nephilim must be protected at any cost and we must not let his paranoia affect her in any way."

"Are you sure about that?" Queried the warlock as he glanced down at the unconscious brunette.

The Martin lady acquired a small piece of paper and put it inside Elijah's pocket before looking at Maddox. "Even if we die tonight, at least we won't be tormented by any Angels, on the Other Side."

They heard a known voice from outside before Elijah kicked the door open and entered the Salvatore Residence at high speed.

"Elijah, what happened?" Questioned Stefan, alarmed, seeing the man rather concerned.

"Where's Alexandra?" Demanded Alaric. "Elijah, where's my niece!?"

"It's Klaus," breathed out the suited Original. "He's taken her."
