2nd Person's POV
"What was that?" Mycroft asked, a dark aura surrounding him as his subordinates kept their heads low.
"T-There was a problem with the recent mission..." one answered, shaking from his boots.
There was a pause before Mycroft rubbed his temples, letting out a deep sigh.
"Then, tell me... What. Exactly. Happened." Mycroft demanded, the air growing heavier and colder.
Albert internally sighed as he watched his co-workers stammer, their voices stuck in their throats.
"Don't make me repeat myself," Mycroft added, turning the man pale and losing all color on his skin.
"I swear to God..." Mycroft sighed, glaring at the men, "The next person who-"
"-Excuse me..." you knocked on the door as you stuck out your head, "Is Mycroft Holmes here?" you innocently asked, looking around the room.
"(Y/N)," Mycroft called out sweetly, turning a complete 180 from his previous demeanor in front of you.
"What brings you here?"
"Mikey!" you happily greeted, walking up to him with a hug.
Albert coughed as he covered his mouth, his shoulders uncontrollably shaking as Mycroft glared at him.
"I was just going to drop off your lunch, but your secretary let me in," you explained, looking around the room, "Sorry... Were you in the middle of something?" you asked, feeling guilty for the disruption.
"No, it's all right," Mycroft reassured as you saw the other men nodding their heads vigorously.
"O...kay then...?" you muttered, confused by the grateful expressions from the men.
"What nice people..." you muttered, surprised by the warm welcome of Mycroft's men.
As you walked around town, you saw a shop having a sale with baking utensils.
"Hmm..." you muttered, smiling at the idea forming in your head.
"Well, there's a first time for everything..." you sighed, stepping inside the store.
"Love?" Mycroft called out, seeing you working in the kitchen in the middle of the night.
"Oh!" you wiped your hands with your apron, "Welcome home!" you greeted as you walked up to him, pecking his lips.
"Why are you still up?"
"I couldn't sleep," you answered, not wanting to say you were waiting for him, "And I thought a midnight snack could help," you added, looking back at your muffins in the oven.
"How was work?" you questioned, earning a deep sigh from Mycroft as he rested his head on your shoulders, "Tiring, was it?"
"Not as tiring as Sherlock today..." he muttered, making you chuckle as you wrapped your arms around his body.
"What did he do this time?"
"Trespassing, stealing evidence, what else..." he grumbled against your neck, feeling the air of exhaustion radiating off him.
You exhaled as you ran your fingers through his hair, feeling his wavy locks unraveling.
"That day off couldn't come sooner..." he muttered, making you chuckle.
"Good work," you complimented, kissing his cheek and hugging him tightly.
"Shall we celebrate with some muffins?" you suggested, "I remember you mentioned wanting to eat some blueberry ones," you added, leading him into the kitchen.
"You baked them yourself?"
"Yeah, so I'm not sure how they turned out..." you muttered, putting on your oven mitts and pulling out the muffin tray.
"I was planning on just buying some from the bakery, but they ran out..." you trailed off, seeing Mycroft sleeping as he leaned on the wall.
You breathed out a smile as you put the tray on the table, walking up to Mycroft and kissing the top of his nose.
"Goodnight, my love," you whispered, leading him up to your shared bedroom as you planned his day off tomorrow for him to enjoy.
