Both of us still had a smirk on our face as we let go of each other's hand.

We walked to the nearest room, and I shut the door behind me. By the time the other co-workers came we left the room!

"Are you ready?" I asked Hina.

"Of course!" Hina gave me a reassuring smile in return.

"Then let’s get moving." I gestured my hand towards the backyard of the Palace! We both walked in a mannered fashion. When we came to the half-way point we both departed our ways.

"Oh," I spoke out and Hina and I both turned around at the exact same time. Hina raised her eyes brows, her body language showing me "what is it!"

                        "NO tricks!"

Hina chuckled and replied back with her annoying tone "NO smart remarks!"

Oh and another thing! Don't be under the impression, that we are now friends since we're helping each other out! You’re the only person that can make Nevada like me again! It sucks to say that.... well, I could do it on my own but as you see I don't have time.

"Whatever!" Hina blurted out as she went to her assigned location. I felt so stupid! Maybe I shouldn't have said anything.

I gave her the annoyed look too and we both walked to our designated spots.

"May I have you attention, everybody!" Hina stood on the podium the exact spot where she is going to say those two words that will cause destruction to my life “I do!" All the employees gathered around like little babies fighting for the bottle of milk! Except for Jayce he stood at the back where he always stood.

"I have an announcement to make, and I need your full co-operation." All the employees started to whisper to the person next to them. I looked at Jayce, who was looking around the backyard with his eyes. He couldn't possibly be looking for me. Can he? NO? Why would he? Well we are dating? I shook the thoughts out of my head. I couldn't afford to mess up this time.

Hina raised her hand to get everyone's attention and in less than a second everyone stood in their spot  like a statue.

"As you all know, Evelyn ran away weeks ago, with the some of the money held in our safe. Well, not too long ago I found Evelyn right here in our palace!" Hina had to pause and the audience began bickering with one another.

I saw Jayce frantically looking for me. The pain he must be in. He worried about me so much and me, I just used him for my own benefits. But, it was for Nevada! The one of the many things my parents have taught me was to keep Nevada safe from harm. I wouldn't be able to do this without using him! I felt soo guilty! But, I promise I'll make it up to him. Somehow... Right now I have to take care of Nevada! Nevada comes before LOVE! I can’t be selfish and risk Nevada being destroyed just for love! He'll understand! I know he will!

I kept my eyes on Hina, who began to continue with our planned speech!

"She came pleading for forgiveness. That she was acting like an immature teenager! She wants to be here for all of the Nevada citizens and act like the princess she should be! Today she is here to ask for forgiveness and pay her debt. She will work here as one of my workers and prepare my wedding! With your co-operation let's give a warm welcome to Evelyn!"

Everyone including Jayce stared to where I was standing! I came from hiding from the tree, and walked down the aisle that leads to the podium. The same aisle Hina would be walking down on her wedding day. As I made it to the stage, Jayce had an annoyed/upset look on his face. Looking at Jayce and his adorable blue eyes, I wouldn't be able to concentrate, so I turned to the employees.

"I was foolish. I was stupid! I think whatever I did was because I was mostly scared and upset! My parents had died and I didn't know what to do. I was worried I was turning crazy! My parent’s death got to me, and I acted foolish by running away! After being alone for a while I realized that I should never have run away! I have to face reality."

I joined my hands in a forgiving gesture. "Please, forgive me, for what I have done! I was young! I was immature! Now, I want to pay back my dept. I decided to help Hina with her wedding, and that I will only feel relaxed is when she says those two words on her wedding day, "I DO!" I cried as I spoke out my last few words. Of course the tears were fake and it was all in act but they didn't need to know that.

The employees applauded after I finished my statement, some of them actually teared up. I looked at Hina who was shocked that I could act so well, that I could bring out the tears of her employees, especially the built 6 pack men. I still kept my gaze from Jayce. I could tell he was looking at me, and if I look at him, everything would just be so awkward.

Hina then came to where I was standing! Now that we got that out of the way! Why, don't we start with work? Evelyn you can go help......

"I'll help him," I pointed at Jayce. Everyone turned around, looking at him.

"He's the only guy there. I think I can help him out."

"Sure, no problem." What she really meant was NO, we never agreed on that! Never in a million years!

"Let's get back to work, then!" Hina left to the Palace getting ready for the photo shoot she was supposed to do an hour ago.

I finally gazed my eyes at Jayce, but I was staring at his back, as he turned around. I slowly walked up to him. He was hammering away, with a pencil in his mouth, and a sheet of paper with a design on the wood piece. He was sweating to my surprise, as I still felt it was a little too cold to be sweating. I looked around and walked up to another co-worker right beside me.

"Um... excuse me. May I borrow your handkerchief?"  The man looked at his handkerchief, which was dangling from his pocket and without any hesitation, he agreed.

"Thank you! I'll return it as soon as possible." The man nodded and I made my way back to Jayce. With a hesitation, I dragged the hankie closer to his face. Within seconds the handkerchief touched his forehead. I started to blot away the sweat, when he turned to the source of the hankie owner. He stood up straight which made me almost tip toe, to touch his forehead. Jayce then grabbed my hand, which made me look at his eyes, stopping me from blotting away the sweat.

"I'm fine." Was all he gave me? He returned back to his work, now drilling away at the wood.

"I promised to help you? There has to be something I can do?" I politely asked Jayce, while my mind was pleading for some work.

"You can climb onto this ladder, and start painting. There is a paint and brush up there." Jayce told me but never met my eye.

Thanks," I let out. At least he talked to me and that's all that mattered. I climbed the ladder and reached the platform, finding the white paint and the brush right beside it. I picked up the brush, dipped it in the paint and then started to brush it against the dull, brown board.

"That's not how you do it?" I heard a voice from a distance. I turned around and looked below, seeing Jayce looking at his design. After a few seconds, I knew it had to be him. The voice just sounded so familiar.

"What do you mean; I'm not doing it right. It looks fine to me." I turned to the wall, to look at my beautiful piece of art. Okay, it wasn't that good, but it was decent, for a person who painted for the first time in their life.

"Are you kidding me, it's horrible. If you couldn't paint why'd you take the job?" I turned around to hear Jayce's attitude. Seriously, he was acting so immature.

"Then give me another job. I'll do that but I'm not going to give up." I turned back around, and started painting furiously on the wall. It was complete silence. I couldn't hear Jayce, and after a while I didn't care. He was not even trying to understand the reason I took this job. After a decent minute, I heard the clinging from the metal ladder. Someone was coming up to where I was and that someone is Jayce, a fellow co-worker or Hina but I had a good feeling it was Jayce. I didn't dare to turn around again. I wasn't going to say sorry, and I wanted him to know that I was upset as well, with his behaviour.

"I told you that's not how you do it!" Jayce took the brush from me, and started to paint on the wall. "You’re supposed to use more of your wrist." Jayce then demonstrated the correct way to paint. He then stopped painting and actually looked me in the eye for once but this time I was the one to look away. Yes, I'm stubborn, and he needs to know that! I kept looking away, waiting for him to leave. Jayce then placed the brush across from the paint can and left. Phew... I let out a huge sigh. It was harder than I thought, not to look at his gorgeous, and beautiful, and... Snap out of it Evelyn! I shook my head to get rid of the thoughts and went back to work. I grabbed the brush and just then, I tripped at the edge of the ladder, feeling my weight being pulled to the ground by gravity. At the nick of time Jayce grabbed me and I sprung up, pushing my body forward. The brush in my hand slid across his face as Jayce moved with the brush in the same direction. His cheek covered in white paint, and my cheeks covered in red, from the blushing of embarrassment. I then moved my way on the platform, separating Jayce's hand from around my waist.

"I'm s-sor-ry" I stuttered trying to get the words out as Jayce touched his cheek with his finger. He then brought back his fingers to examine the white paint on his fingertips. Just then I remembered the handkerchief the man gave me. I quickly got it out from my pocket.

"Sit down, here." I gestured Jayce to the floor.

'I'm fine! Forget it! It's just paint, it'll wash off." Jayce resisted.

"Not unless it dries off, and leaves your skin crusty. Just sit down and stop being stubborn!" I yelled at him. No one ever dares to be stubborn with me and this is the least I can do, since he saved me from falling. Jayce listened to my orders and sat down on the cold hard floor. I knelt down right beside him and wiped of the paint with the handkerchief. As I slowly removed the paint, I can see the sign of happiness in Jayce's eyes. I could tell that he was happy, that someone cared for him so much.  He then stared at me, with so much affection, and right then, my heart started pounding. No, not again. What's happening to me? I quickly retrieved my hand, thinking the heart beats will slow down.

"It's gone." I told him as I stood up. I turned around, planning to explain to the man what happened to his handkerchief when someone grabbed my arm. Jayce then came right in front of me but never said anything. I knew he wanted to say something but why wasn't he. He quickly glared at me, which made my heart start pounding again. It was a long silent moment of awkwardness.

"Thanks." Jayce let out after a very long pause, and bursted down the ladder. I stood there still, trying to think of what just happened there. Jayce had something to tell me, but what? It couldn't have taken him that long to say one syllable. Great, another mystery to solve! I rolled my eyes, and sighed. I picked up the brush from the ground, and started to paint the wall again, just the way Jayce taught me.
