Though she did think of someone, but it seemed rather impossible to her...

It couldn't be him...

With a bouquet of yellow roses and a pink in the middle, Alexandra walked the almost empty corridors of the hospital, letting her eyes spot Caroline's room.

Spotting the room was one thing, but what shocked the Shadowhunter most, was the person beside Caroline who lay on the bed, smiling widely.

The brunette's knuckles left a soft knock on the door, earning the attention of the two.

"Am I interrupting?" Smirked the Bloodwood, noticing Stefan straighten his posture once his green eyes met hers.

"Alexa!" Exclaimed the Forbes girl, in utter excitement. "I can't believe you came!"

The older woman rolled her eyes playfully, coming into the room. "Why do I keep hearing this? Tyler told me the same thing, just a couple of hours ago!" She sat on the other side of the bed and took the blonde's hand in her grasp. "You're my friend, Caroline, of course, I would come to see you. You got severely injured last night, I was extremely worried."

"But I'm fine now, Alexa," offered Caroline, truthfully. "Just a little sore, but okay, I promise. The doctors said that by tomorrow I'll be out and running. I'll be just in time for the surprise!"

It was when her blue-green eyes met Stefan's forest-green ones that she perceived the error of her impatient mouth.

"What surprise?" Queried Alexandra, brow-knitted.

"Um..." Trailed off Caroline, pondering for an appropriate excuse. Turning to Stefan for assistance and rapidly returning her gaze to the brunette, she detected the dried tears on Alexa's cheeks and her face relaxed, finding the perfect opportunity to change the subject. "Wait, were you crying?"

A new wave of tears made its appearance within the Nephilim's confines, forgetting about the said surprise. "Do not expect me to say that there is something in my eye! Yes, I was crying and I'm crying now as well! I'm the Mother Bitch of the group, and I have the right to cry for my children wherever I wish!"

Caroline embraced her and laughed as Stefan spoke for the first time, brows furrowed. "Mother Bitch?" Asked Stefan, impressed. "Really?"

"What?" Inquired the human, almost offended. "Don't tell me you thought of her as an angel or something!?"

Alexandra met the vampire's eyes instantly. "Her? An angel? Yeah, I don't think so." The Salvatore faked a sarcasm.

The irony, right?

"Yeah, don't get fooled by her innocent face," continued Caroline. "This lady here is the Queen of bitches; in all ways. Just don't get on her Cretan phase."

"That, I shall agree on," Alexandra was in accord with her friend's statement. "The Cretan in me always represents my bitchy side... let alone my murderous one." She winked at Caroline who giggled in response. "Oh, I almost forgot!" She picked up the bouquet she had brought and gave it to the Forbes lady, whose smile meant everything to Alexandra.

"My God, Alexa!" She expressed, shocked. "They're beautiful..."

"So are you," commented Stefan, without perceiving his impatient mouth. "She made the perfect choice."

The Nephilim was startled when Caroline's risen heartbeats reached her earshot.

Can I hear without my Hearing Rune now?... Goodness, this is really starting to terrify me...

Her friend's voice brought her back from her daze. "Thanks." She thanked the boy beside her, shyly before turning to her older friend again. "How so you picked yellow roses? I know you adore red."

"Yellow is the colour of recovery," informed the brunette and pointed at the pink rose in the middle. "And the pink one portrays my love for you." She picked on her nose playfully, resulting in the blonde's 'aww' expression.

"How did you get here, anyway?" Spoke Caroline, curiously.

"I passed by Tyler's place first, to express my condolences and then I came across your mother," elaborated the half-celestial. "She offered to drive me here so I could see you as well."

The blond-haired male tensed. "Wait, Liz is here?" He requested from the Nephilim, anxiously, and once she nodded, Stefan let his eyes fall upon Caroline. "I think it's time for me to go."

"Yeah..." Mused the girl, awkwardly and the unknown-to-her vampire kissed her forehead, sweetly, making the brunette grin in excitement.

"I'll see you tomorrow," he beamed.

"Okay," nodded Caroline, reluctantly. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight," he toned back before moving forward to embrace Alexandra. "Glad to have you back."

"I've missed you too," she chuckled and waved at his retreating figure. "Take care."

"Will do!"

Alexandra turned to face her mundane friend. "So... You and Stefan..." She winked. "What are your wedding plans?"

Caroline burst into laughter, her blush inevitable once again before feigning a severe expression. "We're planning a June wedding."

The Bloodwood female nodded, going on with the mundane's performance. "Sounds wonderful."

The two girls began laughing together when Sheriff Forbes entered the room, her brows knitted together in confusion.

"What's happening here?"

Caroline and Alexandra faced each other simultaneously before bursting into laughter again, not giving a response to the wondering woman.

𝐒ᴏᴍᴇ 𝐓ɪᴍᴇ 𝐋ᴀᴛᴇʀ...

The Nephilim had received a text message from Jenna, enquiring from her the reason for her sudden department.

She had no reason to lie, considering the redhead was aware of the supernatural and perhaps, the most appropriate person for Alexandra to discuss Jeremy's awareness of the supernatural world.

They arranged to meet in The Grill, wishing to have some privacy since Elena and Jeremy were already home.

Starting to leave for the bar, a male voice ceased her in her tracks.

"She finally rolls in,"

Came John Gilbert's repulsive voice from her right, inducing the brunette's annoyed roll of eyes.

By the Angel, she hated that man...

She didn't bother to put on a smile. "John... My Cupcake's liar of a biological father. Not surprised to find you here."

"Well," groaned John, in pain and sat at the edge of the bed. "I gotta thank Katherine for that."

Alexandra tilted her head, noticing the stain of blood in the corner of the human's mouth, causing her to chuckle unexpectedly. "And I wondered where Stefan had gone after he left."

"What?" Questioned John, brow-knitted.

She nodded at him. "The blood on your lips. I suppose dear Stefan passed by to grant you a proper goodbye. Well, I can't say you didn't deserve it, John," declared Alexandra, bluntly as she supported herself on the doorframe, her arms crossed. "Apart from being a rogue secret keeper, you're also a cold-blooded vampire killer, who tried to kill my friends but instead, you got the Mayor killed."

The vampire hunter let out a wicked chuckle. "Wow... It's the first time I meet a Shadowhunter who protects the monsters."

"My duty as a Shadowhunter, John," drawled the half-Cretan, abrasively. "is to protect the Human World from the Demon World. And that includes the vampires. I strongly believe, that the monster in this story, is you."

She went to leave but the man's voice halted her once again.

"I just wanted to protect my daughter."

She swung round to look into his fearful eyes. "Then, you must sincerely ponder over the fact that you did a rather inadequate job in protecting her. Otherwise, Isobel and Katherine wouldn't have meant harm to her and to a lot more people. I wish you a fast recovery."

She left without another word, leaving the Gilbert male to consider her words...

Alexandra used her Shapeshifting Rune to change her attire before going to meet her friend, with her makeup, jacket and heels remaining the same.

"So, Jeremy knows?" Gasped Jenna, utterly thunderstruck. "But how? Are you sure?"

"I'm not certain how," admitted Alexandra in a whisper after drawing a sip from her wine. "My best guess is that he might've read Elena's journal, I cannot think of something else. But yes, I'm sure. First, he asked me if I would kill to protect you all and-"

Jenna disrupted her by half-yelling, "He said that!?"

The brunette sighed heavily. "Yes, he did. I'm confident to say that his inquiry was deliberate." She leaned forward, for further privacy. "Differently, why ask me if I killed Vicki to protect Elena?"

The strawberry-blonde froze for a moment, her eyes ready to explode from their confines.

"I should have probably mentioned this first, shouldn't I?" Suggested Alexandra, feeling remorse for her blunt divulgence.

"Just... tell me you did it to protect my niece, and I might take it more gently," pleaded Jenna after gulping down her own wine.

"Of course, I did it to save Elena!" Defended the Nephilim, slightly offended by Jenna's doubt.

"Wait..." Trailed off the human, alarmed. "you said 'save'. Why save her? What happened and you needed to save her!?"

Alexandra glanced all over the place, to see if there were any praying ears before retorting in a whisper, "Vicki was turned into a vampire, Jenzie. I had to do what did, to prevent her from feeding on Elena. And Jeremy unfortunately, witnessed the whole thing."

"Oh, God," breathed out Jenna. "And I knew nothing about it! They won't tell me anything, why!?"

Alexandra moved and took hold of Jenna's hand, in comfort. "I comprehend your anger, Jenzie. But all Cupcake wished to do was to keep you out of it. Even if I was completely opposed to erasing Jer-Jer's memory without his consent, Elena followed her instinct and told Damon to do it nevertheless."

Their conversation came to a halt when Matt appeared with another bottle of red wine, surprising the duo.

"Ken-cake, we didn't order, how-?"

"Call me whatever you wish," mumbled Matt and placed the full bottle on their table before putting the empty one on his tray. "but I kind of noticed your intense conversation. I was certain that you would be needing a refill, sooner or later."

The women let out a giggle of surprise.

"Wow," spoke Jenna. "You're good, I just finished my last glass."

"Well, I know my job," the young man raised his eyebrow, mischievously. "Oh, I almost forgot!" He pulled a small piece of paper from his pocket and gave it to Alexandra. "Here's my new phone number, so you can save it."

"What happened to your old one?" Queried the Nephilim, curious.

"Nothing," replied the blond, dismissingly.

The two women met each other's gaze. "Then why did you replace it?" Spoke Jenna, perplexed.

Matt froze for a moment, gazing at the empty. "I-I don't know. I just know that it should be done, shortly. It was necessary for me to change it."

Alexandra didn't like this...

Matt's words did not appear to convince her, almost certain that he was being dishonest. But what was the reason for him to hide the truth?

And his one-time preference for such words? Since when did he start speaking like that?

No, it didn't seem like he was lying and he couldn't start speaking differently now.

But even if he was... then he didn't know he was.

"Yo, Donovan!"

The bartender's voice echoed from behind, bringing the Donovan boy back to reality. "Table 15, they asked for their check!"

"Got it!" The mundane turned to the female duo with pressed lips. "Duty calls. See you later, ladies."

When they grinned, he took his leave to go attend to the customers and Jenna addressed Alexandra.

"What was that?" Scowled the Sommers female.

The Shadowhunter took her time to reply. "Nothing good."

"Why do you say that?" Asked the strawberry-blonde but received no answer from the brunette. "Alexa?"

Puzzlement clouded Alexandra's facial features as she typed down Matt's new phone number. "He said this is his new number, am I correct?"

"Yeah," confirmed the thirty-year-old woman. "Why?"

"Hear this," spoke up the angelic beauty. "A few minutes before my department from the Lockwood Mansion, I received a call from an unknown number, in which no one uttered a word once I accepted it. Right after I hung the phone up, I received a text message that read this;" she finished and showed the message to Jenna.

"'You will not be unhappy forever'," quoted the redhead and let her brows snap together in question. "Who could've sent this?"

The half-Cretan withdrew her phone and made a few more types on it before re-showing it to her friend. "I knew not... until now."

The woman's eyes narrowed.

"How can this be?" She whisper-yelled. "Why would Matt send you something like that!?"

Alexandra's eyes showed nothing but severity.

"I don't think it was Matt who sent this, Jenzie."

𝐒ᴀʟᴠᴀᴛᴏʀᴇ 𝐁ᴏᴀʀᴅɪɴɢ 𝐇ᴏᴜsᴇ.

Not even an entire day in Mystic Falls and her mind was about to fulminate.

First, the trio's car accident, then Tyler's werewolf curse, then John and Isobel's involvement, which certainly contained Katherine Pierce as well. And last but not least, Katherine alone. She was under the conception of a devious strategy; the Nephilim was certain of it. But what had Mason to do with it and she manipulated him to gain her purpose?

And let's not forget the unknown caller. Alexandra was confident enough to trust that Matt had no involvement in it but someone else did through him.

Her mind first ran to Azazel, incapable of overlooking the psychological torments he forced her to go through these last months... let alone in her adolescence.

But what if it wasn't Azazel...?

She was walking back to Damon and Stefan's residence when her attention caught the sound of the front door opening.

Her eyes widened when they detected Katherine Pierce coming out of the house.

What was she doing here...?

While the immortal female was preoccupied with her phone, Alexandra hid behind a tree in deadly silence, fearing that Katherine might have sensed her celestial aura.

But her fear instead of bringing an unpleasant outcome did something beyond Alexandra's imagination.

It instinctively activated her Invisibility Rune along with her Silencing Rune, rendering her impossible to be seen or heard by Elena's 'twin'.

No Shadowhunter was able to do that.

Katherine put her phone on her ear, expecting the person she was calling to reply soon.

When he did, she smirked.

"Yeah?" Echoed Mason's voice from the other end, verifying Alexandra's scepticism about the vampire's mysterious plan.

How on Earth can I hear him from here!?

"Hey," spoke Katherine, flirtatiously. "I've arrived in Mystic Falls, wanna meet?"

Alexandra rolled her eyes at the immortal's sweet talk.

Mason did not respond directly. "Um, not a good idea. I gotta stay by my nephew, he went through a lot after my brother's death."

Katherine frowned on the outside but her anger was burning inside. "Oh, okay."

"Are you mad?"

The Nephilim smirked when she noticed Katherine clench her phone, in anger. "No, not at all. You should stay with your family, we can meet up tomorrow."

"Okay," sighed the Lockwood, happily. "Thank you, Kathy. I really appreciate it."

Kathy? Grimaced the heavenly creature, in aversion. Seriously?

"No, problem," mused Katherine. "I love you, Mason."

Another eye roll descended from the half-Cretan.

"Bye," was all her boyfriend said and hung up, causing Alexandra to snicker in her hand, to prevent the Pierce woman from hearing her, not aware of her rune's actuation.

The five-hundred-year-old vampire gasped at the werewolf's gesture. "We're hanging up, now?"

Angrily, she put her phone in her pants pocket, adjusted her shirt and vamp-sped away from her former lovers' home, her next destination being the town's hospital...

Alexandra's runes deactivated when she felt safe to unhide herself from the shadows.

A dink reached Alexandra's ears and she pulled out her phone to see that she had a message from Mason.

From: Mason L.

We need to talk.

Call me whenever you can.

Of course, he would suspect something...

Sighing heavily, she stepped onto the porch and found the door to the house open, wondering what was Katherine doing in there in the first place.

Entering the residence, she walked to the living room, finding it worse for wear.

Damon stood in front of the fireplace, holding a bottle of Bourbon before unexpectedly turning and throwing it across the room, the tiny glasses and splashes of the alcohol hitting and splattering Alexandra's heels.

Damon froze when his eyes fell on her silhouette.

"What the hell happened here!?" She demanded, fearfully.

The vampire ignored her question. "Did any of the glasses cut you?”

"No," she answered, sincerely and trampled the glasses as she came closer to the raven-haired male. "What was Katherine doing in here?" She asked him, a tad loudly.

Damon smirked, once again in an effort to veil his insecurity. "Why, are you scared that you might lose me to another woman?"

The half-celestial's expression did not change. "No, I was merely worried that she might cause more problems than she already has... Well, has she?"

"It depends on what problems you are referring to," dismissed her, Damon and went to take another bottle of whiskey before he started chugging from it.

Alexandra proceeded to take the bottle away from him. "Stop drinking for Heaven's sake and tell what happened! Firstly, why did you destroy your own living room?"

Damon's eyes flared up in rage and moved towards her, causing her to take a step back in slight fear. "Do you wanna know what happened? What I didn't want to happen, happened! My worst nightmare happened!"

"What do you mean?" Wondered Alexandra, softly.

Tears shimmered in the vampire's eyes.

"Katherine said that she never loved me," admitted Damon, spreading dismay to the Shadowhunter's heart. "She only loved Stefan."

"Damon, I'm so sorry," enunciated the brunette, dolefully.

Despite his anger and broken heart, the Salvatore male changed the course of his head to leer at her, his hands resting on his hips. "Are you?"

Bewilderment dawned on the female upon the undead creature's query. "What are you on about?"

The raven-haired Salvatore accosted her being and she retreated two steps, taking heed of his sorrowful and half-drunken state. "You do know that there is something going on between us, Alexandra, don't you deny it."

The Bloodwood heir shook her head. "No, why would I deny it? We do share a frenemy bond, I'm not going to refute that."

Ice-blue eyes turned red. "DON'T PRETEND THAT YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!"

The colour drained out of the half-mundane's expression as Damon kept approaching her, dangerously. "Damon, please. Do calm yourself down."

He framed her against the wall and wound his hand around her neck, forcing her head upwards to meet her fearful eyes - the bottle slipped from her hand and ended up on the floor, in pieces. "Since the first day I saw you," whispered Damon. "I felt my heart beat for someone other than Katherine. After one hundred and forty-five years, I felt my heart open up again. I thought Katherine was my entire world, the only woman capable of making me love her immediately with only one look. The only woman who would teach me how to love.

"But when I saw you," he released her neck and used his fingers to caress her hair affectionately, hearing her heart beating rapidly within her chest. "your face was the only one I wished to see daily - even in my sleep. I started dreaming of you some nights after the first time we met. I saw you sleeping peacefully, in only a sheet - just like the first time I ever laid my eyes on you. Another time I dreamt that I was holding you in my arms and you laid your head on my chest, smiling in your sleep while I kept whispering dirty lines in your ear.

"After a while, I knew," he inched closer towards the half-Cretan's lips while she had them snapped shut, somehow predicting his next move. "I knew that it wasn't just a fling." He brushed his thumb over her red lower lip. "I knew..."

"Damon, do not-" Her protest had been silenced when the vampire's defiance urged him to unite their lips, ferociously, sucking the air out of her.

Uncontrollable tears escaped the Nephilim's eyes as she felt Damon kissing her with oh, so much love and passion but she wouldn't return either his kiss or his feelings.

"Damon, no, stop!" She pushed him away from her, her voice holding quite the discomfort in it. "This is not right. You're drunk and you don't know what you're doing."

"Why, isn't it right?" Mumbled the Salvatore, almost out of breath - the red of her lips besmeared all over his own. "Because I'm the bad guy?"

"No," she shook her head and used her hand to prevent him from walking any closer to her, again. "It's not that. It just... wouldn't be right for you."

The creature of the night scowled at her statement. By letting out a chuckle, he said, "Why wouldn't be right for me?"

"Because..." She trailed off, another wave of tears wetting her complexion. "I do not return your feelings."

Damon was once again steeped in an ocean of sorrow; a much deeper one than before. Why did Alexandra's confession pain him so much more than Katherine's?

The girl sniffled. "I must have mistakenly favoured your notions when I only wished for you to not feel lonely after you discovered Katherine's betrayal. My intentions were purely friendly, Damon."

"Wow," laughed Damon, bitterly, his ice-blue eyes shining brightly from the unshed tears. "I got rejected by both women I probably cared about the most, in less than an hour. Lucky me!"

"Damon, please," she endeavoured to quell his pain. "Do not think like that. I am not going to leave you like Katherine just did! I didn't have such an intention even after everything that you have brought upon to my life. I... I will leave if you wish me to-"

"No!" He hastened out a reply and sped to her before taking grasp of her hands. "No, I don't want you to leave me. If you leave me too, then I have nothing left."

She never imagined witnessing Damon Salvatore being that vulnerable. She could not ponder over how lonely he must've felt to practically plead her to stay by his side even after she confessed to him how she actually felt about him.

She detested the situation she was in; a similar one slowly returning to her mind as it had occurred with Josiah just a few years ago...

"Just tell me one thing," continued the Salvatore and moved his hands up to her wetted cheeks, thumbs stroking her skin lovingly. "if things were different; would you and I have a chance together?"

The Archangelic-natured female was rather dumbfounded by the Mundane World vampire. She knew that he was referring to Daniel...

How could I not take heed of his feelings for me?...

"Perhaps..." She retorted, candidly, seeing the male's shoulders relax. "if things were different..."

Damon responded with a sudden embrace and Alexandra put her arms around him as a gesture of solace, sensing his tears dampening her jacket before some wetted and cascaded down her neck.

Alexandra's phone was what pulled them apart.

"Who is it?" Asked Damon, in a hoarse voice as he rubbed his eyes.

"It's Victoria," replied the brunette, brow-knitted. Accepting the call, she said, "Ria, what's the matter?"

"I don't know where you are, I don't know what you're doing, but you must come to the hospital, now!"

"Why, what happened?"

Victoria's voice was cut out for a moment, not knowing how to rattle the news out.

"It's about Caroline...."

"It is my bloody fault!"

Cried Alexandra as she retrieved the pillow from Caroline's face.

The blonde seemed so peaceful and yet she wasn't sleeping.

"Are we certain that your blood has not left her system, yet?" Whimpered Alexandra and turned to look at Damon, in despair.

"Now, it definitely has," answered Damon. "But not when she got killed. Oh, Stefan isn't going to like this..."

"This is my fault," mumbled the Nephilim, in soft cries. "I should have stayed by her side."

"Alexa, none of this is your fault," toned Victoria, wishing to comfort her. "You couldn't have known."

"That was definitely Katherine's doing," murmured Damon, with his hands on his hips. "I'm sure of it."

"How can you be so sure?" Doubted the female vampire and adjusted her nurse uniform.

Damon didn't get to share the reason for his certainty when out of nowhere, Caroline gasped awake and gained everyone's attention to her.

"Caroline, hey," Alexandra joined her side immediately and put her arms around her to soothe her down. "Sweetie, it's okay. You're okay."

"What happened?" Whispered Caroline, rather shaken up.

The two raven-haired vampires shared a look with the Shadowhunter, who didn't know how to proceed with the situation either.

"What do you remember?" Enquired instead, the Bloodwood heir.

The now half-mundane Caroline rubbed her head in frustration. "I-I was sleeping and when I woke up uh- Elena was here," she professed, and brought terror to the room's occupants along with the confirmation. "But for some reason, I remember her saying that her name was Katherine."

"Oh, God," sighed Alexandra, ever so lowly.

"She also told me to give you and Stefan a message," she gestured towards Alexa and Damon.

"What did she say?" Questioned the male vampire, stepping closer to the blonde's bed.

"She said 'game on'," acknowledged the Forbes lady, sending shivers down Alexandra's back. "God, I'm so hungry!"

"You go," spoke Victoria, glancing at the Salvatore and the Bloodwood descendants. "I got this."

Leaving Victoria to introduce Caroline into the supernatural world and tell her everything about her vampiric identity, was perhaps the best decision Alexandra had come to agree on, without a second thought.

The half-Cretan was rather depressed with her Barbie-cake becoming a part of (one of) her world(s) but she was also enraged with that slut of a vampire, Katherine.

Alexandra didn't know much about the five-hundred-year-old vampire, but she knew enough from Damon and Stefan, to persuade herself that Katherine was not a good person; perhaps she was many many years ago... but certainly not now nor when the two brothers had met her.

The Nephilim did not possess any desire to return to the Salvatore Boarding House along with Damon; whose duty was to inform his brother about Caroline's half-dead state.

She inclined toward walking on the empty streets of Mystic Falls to let her mind think about literally anything else but she was unable to bring herself to...

The only thing she was glad about thinking, was how she should proceed with Katherine's demise.

Ought she use her fighting skills on her and then rip her head off? Or rip her heart out with her bare hands? Or both?...

What if she tied her up in vervain-laced chains and used every sharp-pointed Shadowhunter weapon she retained so that the vamp-bitch would die out of blood loss because her vampirism could not heal her wounds and she would ultimately die?...

A wicked yet pleased grin graced the heavenly beauty's face when more murdering ideas invaded her mind.

Lost in her thoughts, she didn't realize that she had reached her undone family residence.

It was so different...

Almost everything had been replaced by new materials and exceptionally the size of the house; it was enormous.

It was transformed into a mansion.

Well, having Shadowhunters for builders had actually come in handy...

The only thing that came to her mind at that moment was Daniel's letter... She hadn't read it yet...

"And here I thought that our mansion was the most impressive I've ever seen."

Letting out a squeak of surprise, Alexandra jolted at hearing Mason's voice beside her.

"Have you lost your bloody mind!?" Exclaimed the Shadowhunter, her hand getting above her rapidly beating heart. "You almost gave me a heart attack!"

"Sorry about that," stated Mason. "But you didn't respond to my text and I really needed to talk to you, so after Tyler and Carol fell asleep, I searched the whole town to find you. Honestly, I didn't expect to find you here."

"Why not?" She took a few deep breaths. "It was and will continue to be a Bloodwoods' property. Truthfully, it should have been the very first place you should have begun searching for me."

"Yeah, well," he was inches away from her face, wishing to retain as much privacy as possible. "I needed you to tell me what the hell was that with my girlfriend slash Elena Gilbert's photocopy a lot more than your most likely whereabouts. So, are you going to tell me or not?"

She gazed at her half-done house and gestured for him to follow her. "Come on. We must not be heard by anyone."

𝐀 𝐅ᴇw 𝐌ɪɴᴜᴛᴇs 𝐋ᴀᴛᴇʀ...

Having secured the entire building with a Silencing Rune, Alexandra dropped a pile of papers onto the old wooden table, the front page having multiple runes carved on it.

"What are those?" Wondered the werewolf.

"Shadowhunter archives," spoke the Nephilim in response. "It is urgent for you to see, in order to believe what I've already told you."

"How can I believe that Kathy, my girlfriend, is a five-hundred-year-old vampire who looks exactly like Jenna's niece!? I-it is insane!"

The Bloodwood heir looked through the archives until she found the one she sought for. "Are you certain?"

Mason accepted the dossier that Alexandra was giving him and noticed that the front page read; Katerina Petrova, making him frown in wonder.

"Who is Katerina Petrova?"

The half-celestial being opened the dossier to point with her finger the line that read after the said name; Katherine Pierce.

"I wonder," started off the Devil's 'daughter', in total sarcasm. "Does Kathy account for being a nickname for Katherine?"

The Lockwood was acknowledging her point. He just didn't wish to believe it.

"Alexa, are you sure?" Asked the wolf, in despair. "I mean-"

"That woman," interrupted Alexandra. "does not care about anything or anyone apart from herself, Mason!" She teared up as her mind ran to Caroline. "She has a plan, she always has a plan and a lot of people get hurt or worse. She had encountered two of my vampire friends almost two hundred years ago, and she manipulated them the same way she manipulates you! She's using your love for her to gain her own purposes, without actually caring about you. I'm rather certain that she's the one who caused you to trigger your werewolf curse in the first place!"

Mason started putting the pieces together and the more he read about Katherine Pierce (mostly the paragraphs of the year 1864, where he also found the Salvatores' name) the more her character matched with Kathy's. Although he hated to admit it, he was almost certain that Alexandra was being honest and Kathy or... Katherine was using him to gain whatever purpose she had in her wicked mind.

Especially when he recalled something very specific that she had asked of him...

Alexandra put her hand on his shoulder, motivating him to look at her. "Mason, please, you know what you are to me... All I wish is to keep you and your family safe and if I wasn't one thousand per cent certain that the woman you're seeing, is considered to be a threat to you, your loved ones and many more people, I wouldn't demonstrate to you such classified archives! Perhaps, I shouldn't say this but if you learn what she has done, I strongly believe that your feelings for her will cease to be the same as before if they already haven't."

The male did not hesitate to express his curiosity, more like anticipation for the worst. "What did she do?"

Tears had come to roll down her cheeks once again when she announced, "She has killed my friend, Caroline."

Mason narrowed his eyes. "The Sheriff's daughter!?" The girl lowered her head and nodded. "I can't believe it." He rubbed his chin in frustration. "Why would she do that!?"

"Because tormenting people is her way to have fun!" Declared Alexandra, loudly, finding his eyes that were full of betrayal. "And the worst thing is that Caroline is in transition to become a vampire as we speak!" She proceeded forward, eyes full of pleading. "That's why I ought to ask you Mason... has she ever required anything from you? Something that she needed and did not clarify herself to you?"

And here came the assurance...

"She did," blurted out Mason, with a heavy heart.

"What?" Whispered the brown-haired beauty.

"A family heirloom... A Moonstone."
